02-07-21 | Chiefs v. Bucs +3.5 | Top | 9-31 | Win | 100 | 321 h 60 m | Show |
At 6:30 pm, on February 7, our selection is on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers + the points over Kansas City. These two teams played here, in Tampa, back in late November. And the Chiefs won a 27-24 game, as a 3.5-point road favorite. But that was the last game the Buccaneers have lost, as they've ripped off seven straight wins to reach the Super Bowl. And they'll have the unusual benefit of playing the game in their home stadium, which will be the first time in Super Bowl history that a team has played the game in its home stadium (though others have played in their home region before). The most impressive thing about Tampa's path to this game is that it had to win all three playoff games on the road. And the Bucs scored 30+ points in each of their Playoff wins. The win vs. Green Bay was especially impressive given that the Packers hadn't allowed an opponent to score more than 28 points at Lambeau Field in their previous 15 games. The Chiefs, by virtue of their #1 seed, had a much easier path to this title game. They played through an injury to Patrick Mahomes in their 5-point win over the Cleveland Browns. And then they played, perhaps, their best game of the season when they routed a very good Buffalo Bills squad, 38-24, in the AFC Championship game. Unfortunately, though, for Kansas City, NFL teams are a soft 23-37-1 ATS on the road after scoring 35+ points at home in their previous game. And, even worse, in non-division match-ups between winning teams, favorites of 7 or less points (or PK) are a woeful 20-47-1 ATS away from home vs. revenge-minded clubs. Certainly, Kansas City is the league's most dangerous offensive team, with Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce. It averages 29.6 ppg, which is in line with last year's title-winning club (29.8 ppg). But the Chiefs' defense dropped off a little this season, as it's giving up 22.38 ppg, which ranks as the 6th-worst such mark of the 82 teams over the past 41 seasons. And that doesn't bode well for Kansas City, as NFL teams are 0-8 ATS in Super Bowls when priced from -2.5 to -6 points, if they give up 18+ points on defense. Finally, Tom Brady's teams have gone 18-5 ATS when playing with revenge, and not favored by more than 1 point, including 6-0 ATS the last six at home, or on a neutral field. Grab the points with Tampa Bay. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-07-21 | Indiana State v. Northern Iowa -2 | Top | 67-70 | Win | 100 | 4 h 20 m | Show |
At 4 pm, our selection is on the Northern Iowa Panthers over Indiana State. This is a rematch of a game played yesterday, here in Cedar Falls. The Sycamores emerged victorious, 61-57, as a 1.5-point road underdog in that one to notch their 7th straight win (and hand the Panthers their 2nd straight loss). But we look for the Panthers to avenge that defeat today, as revenge-minded Missouri Valley teams are 57-30-2 ATS on home or neutral courts against foes off upset wins, if our revenger wasn't getting more than 1 point in the game. And, even better, Northern Iowa is a terrific 42-8 SU and 36-12-2 ATS as a home favorite of less than 11 points vs. an opponent off a win, if the Panthers were playing with revenge. And if Northern Iowa was off back-to-back losses, then our 36-12 stat zooms to a perfect 9-0 ATS. Take the Panthers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-07-21 | Blackhawks v. Stars -165 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -165 | 13 h 40 m | Show |
At 3:05 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Stars over the Chicago Blackhawks. Through its first 10 games, the Dallas offense has been one of the best in the NHL, netting an average of almost four goals per game (3.80). That number is good for second-best in the league, something that is a bit surprising given how this offense sputtered last year. In 69 games in 2020, the Stars averaged just 2.58 GPG, more than a full goal less than what they're doing so far this season. After sub-par campaigns in 2020, all three of Dallas' veteran offensive core -- Jamie Benn, Joe Pavelski, and Alexander Radulov -- have come out with guns ablaze this season. Between the three of them, they have tallied 13 goals and 19 assists in 20 combined games, a big reason for the team's success. Veteran Anton Khubodin is clearly Dallas' #1 net-minder, but it may have found a future star in 22-year-old rookie Jake Oettinger who has notched a very nice 2.42 GAA in his three games so far. The Blackhawks are just 4-18 in their last 22 road games. Take the Stars. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

02-07-21 | Kings v. Clippers -8 | Top | 113-110 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 35 m | Show |
At 3:05 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Clippers minus the points over the Sacramento Kings. This will be the third meeting this season between these Pacific division rivals, and the Clippers easily took the first two by 115-96 and 138-100 scores. The Clippers had Saturday off following their home upset loss to the Celtics, 119-115, as a 5.5-point favorite on Friday. Meanwhile, the Kings upset Denver, 119-114, in Sacramento yesterday afternoon for their 6th win in 7 games (and 7th straight ATS win). The good news for Kawhi Leonard & Co. is that the Clippers have been exceptional over the last several seasons off a straight-up loss, as they're 42-9 SU and 37-14 ATS off a defeat, including a perfect 5-0 ATS vs. double-revenging foes.  Even better: NBA road underdogs of +8 (or more) points off 5+ ATS wins are a dismal 65-102 ATS in the regular season. Lay the points with the Clippers on Sunday. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-06-21 | California Baptist v. New Mexico State -7.5 | Top | 70-97 | Win | 100 | 11 h 60 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the New Mexico State Aggies minus the points over Cal Baptist. The Lancers came into El Paso (the Aggies' current home base, since they can't play in Las Cruces) last night, and stunned New Mexico State, 85-75. We'll lay the points with the Aggies on this Saturday, as they fall into 98-30, 49-18 and 47-25 ATS systems of mine that play on certain teams off SU/ATS losses, as well as a 178-123 ATS system which plays on certain teams off upset losses vs. foes off upset wins. Additionally, WAC Conference favorites have covered 63.1% since 1993 off upset losses vs. foes off upset wins. Lay the points with the Aggies tonight. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-06-21 | Warriors v. Mavs -4 | Top | 132-134 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 43 m | Show |
At 8:35 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks minus the points over Golden State. These two teams met on Thursday, and it was an embarrassing 31-point loss for the homestanding Mavericks. But Dallas will get a 2nd bite at the apple tonight, and we'll play on the Mavericks in this rematch. For technical support, consider that home teams have cashed 70.7% in the regular season when playing with revenge from a home upset loss by more than 20 points. Meanwhile, the Warriors have covered just eight of 25 off an upset win, when matched up against an opponent off a SU loss. Lay the points with Dallas. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-06-21 | Nuggets -3.5 v. Kings | Top | 114-119 | Loss | -104 | 7 h 4 m | Show |
At 5:05 pm, our selection is on the Denver Nuggets minus the points over the Sacramento Kings. Both of these teams are playing their best basketball of the season. Denver has won six of its last eight games SU/ATS (though it was blown out by the Lakers, 114-93, two nights ago), while Sacramento has gone 5-1 SU and 6-0 ATS its last six. These two teams met here on December 29, and the Nuggets were upended by the Kings, 125-115. And that was the 2nd straight loss by the Nuggets to the Kings this season. We'll take Denver to avenge that defeat as it's 36-18 ATS when playing with double-revenge, including 7-0 ATS if the Nuggets lost by 15+ points its previous game, and 23-8 ATS if its opponent was off a win. Even better: the Kings are a wallet-busting 16-37 ATS at home off a SU/ATS win vs. foes off a SU/ATS loss. Take Denver to crush the Kings. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-06-21 | Tennessee Tech -3 v. Tenn-Martin | Top | 64-66 | Loss | -112 | 7 h 3 m | Show |
At 5 pm, our selection is on the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles minus the points over Tennessee-Martin. The Skyhawks have covered just three of 14 games, while the Golden Eagles are 7-3-1 ATS their last 11, and we'll look for these two trends to remain intact on Saturday. Tennessee Tech has been installed as a small road favorite, but it has completely dominated this series, with 28 wins in the last 40 meetings. And the Golden Eagles are a terrific 33-14 ATS on the road off a road loss, when not getting more than 16 points. Meanwhile, Tennessee-Martin is an awful 33-51 ATS as a home underdog its last 84. Take Tennessee Tech to blow out the Skyhawks. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-06-21 | IUPU Ft Wayne +6.5 v. Detroit | Top | 56-83 | Loss | -108 | 7 h 2 m | Show |
At 5 pm, our selection is on the Fort Wayne Mastodons plus the points over Detroit. The Mastodons were blown out, 82-72, last night, here in the Motor City for their fifth straight defeat. But we'll take Fort Wayne to pull the upset in this re-match, as Horizon League road teams, off back to back losses, have gone 34-15 ATS in the regular season when playing with revenge from a double-digit loss to their opponent earlier in the season. Take Fort Wayne. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-06-21 | Washington v. Oregon -13 | Top | 74-86 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 1 m | Show |
At 4 pm, our selection is on the Oregon Ducks minus the points over Washington. The Ducks have dropped their first two games of this 3-game home stand. But the third time should be the charm, as .666 (or better) teams have cashed 67% since 1997 as home favorites of -5+ points, off back to back home losses. Take Oregon to blow out the Huskies. |
02-06-21 | Coyotes v. Blues -161 | Top | 3-1 | Loss | -161 | 5 h 17 m | Show |
At 3:05 pm, our selection is on the St. Louis Blues over the Arizona Coyotes. Craig Berube took over behind the bench for the Blues about 20 games into the 2018-2019 season and then promptly led the franchise to its first Stanley Cup Championship. Now starting his third season with the team, the 55-year-old Skipper shows no signs of slowing down as the Blues are off to another great start and could have a lot to say about who is going to hoist the Cup in June. The new division seems to fit the Blues well and getting to play a team like the Coyotes -- who come in with a 4-5-1 record -- a bunch of times should suit them. This hasn't been a particularly even match-up with the Coyotes winning just nine times in the last 30 meetings. The Coyotes can ill-afford to be without key players which makes Defensive Captain Oliver Ekman-Larsson's absence due to a lower body injury even more troubling for them. Arizona won round one of this two-game series, 4-3, but the Coyotes are a dismal 11-30 in their last 41 after a division win. Take the Blues. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

02-06-21 | St. John's v. Providence -1 | Top | 92-81 | Loss | -109 | 4 h 5 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the Providence Friars over St. John's. The Johnnies come into this Big East matchup on a 5-game SU/ATS win streak, including a huge upset win, as a 9-point underdog, over Villanova in their last game. In contrast, the Friars have lost their last two games SU/ATS. But I love Providence to turn the tables on St. John's this afternoon, as they're 28-10 ATS at home when priced from +1 to -5 points. Additionally, Big East teams have covered just 38% over the last 31 years off 5 SU/ATS wins when playing an opponent off back to back losses. And St. John's has also covered just 7 of 22 vs. Providence when not getting 3+ points. But the clincher is that Big East teams, off an upset win as a 7-point (or greater) underdog over Big East foes with an undefeated conference record, have covered just 35% since 1990 when not getting 5+ points. Take Providence. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-06-21 | Louisiana Tech v. North Texas -4 | Top | 55-57 | Loss | -108 | 4 h 2 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the North Texas Mean Green minus the points over Louisiana Tech. These two teams met here in Denton yesterday, and the Bulldogs upset North Texas, 68-63, as a 5.5-point underdog. We'll take the Mean Green to avenge last night's loss, as it's a dominant 18-2 SU at home its last 20. And notwithstanding last night's upset, it's still covered 14 of its last 18 lined home games. Finally, the Mean Green fall into a 146-97 ATS revenge system of mine which plays on certain teams that lost at home in the previous meeting vs. their opponent. Take North Texas minus the points. |
02-05-21 | Wizards v. Heat -6.5 | Top | 95-122 | Win | 100 | 14 h 39 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat minus the points over Washington. These two Southeast division rivals met last night, here in South Florida, and the Wizards came away with an upset win, 103-100, as a 9-point road underdog. The price is significantly lower for tonight's game, primarily because Russell Westbrook will be on the floor for the Wizards this evening after not playing on Wednesday, while the Heat's Avery Bradley will be sidelined with a calf injury. We'll lay the points with Miami, as it's 43-20 ATS off three point spread defeats, as well as a very strong 50-20 ATS off back to back losses, when matched up against an opponent off a straight-up win. Meanwhile, the Wizards are a wallet-busting 34-63 ATS off an upset road win. Lay the points with the Heat. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-05-21 | Predators v. Panthers -120 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 13 h 43 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Florida Panthers over the Nashville Predators. Heading into last night, the Panthers were the only team left in the NHL that had not lost a game in regulation. And coming out of Thursday's clash with the Predators, Florida still has that unblemished regular-time record intact. But they can't be feeling too good about it today. That's because the Panthers held a 5-3 lead with just two-and-a-half minutes to go but somehow managed to blow it and wind up in overtime. They eventually lost a 6-5 decision when Filip Forsberg tallied four minutes into the extra stanza. It was certainly one of the toughest single-point efforts the Panthers have ever had to endure, but one they are hopeful to put behind them tonight. This is probably the most talented group of hockey players that South Florida has seen in some time with all the new additions in the off-season. And so far at least, it seems to be working. Despite their come-from-behind triumph last night, the Predators are just 1-6 in their last seven road games and 2-4 in the last six meetings. Take the Panthers. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

02-04-21 | Canucks v. Maple Leafs -175 | Top | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 15 h 17 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Maple Leafs over the Vancouver Canucks. The Maple Leafs were riding a very nice four-game win streak when they lost a tough one in Edmonton their last time out, 4-3 in overtime. That was last Saturday so Toronto has had five days to get over it and re-group for tonight's first of two at home against the Canucks. And it's a match-up that's been very good to them lately as the Leafs have taken four of the last five meetings going back to January of 2018. Vancouver signed veteran Goalie Braden Holtby in the off-season when the Caps had to clear cap space with the idea that he would step in for veteran Jacob Markstrom who flew the coop for Calgary as a FA. But it hasn't worked out as Holtby's issues from DC have not only followed him to Vancouver, but they've apparently gotten much worse (.896 SV % and 3.63 GAA). In Monday's loss to Montreal, Holtby allowed six goals on 40 shots. The Canucks are 0-7 in the last seven meetings here, and 1-5 in their last six games as a road dog. Take Toronto. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

02-03-21 | Suns v. Pelicans +3 | Top | 101-123 | Win | 100 | 16 h 27 m | Show |
At 9:35 pm, our selection is on the New Orleans Pelicans + the points over the Phoenix Suns. These two teams met in Phoenix on Dec. 29, and the Suns blew out New Orleans by 25 points, 111-86, as a 2-point home favorite. Tonight's game is in New Orleans, and we'll take the Pelicans as a home underdog to avenge that blowout loss. Indeed, the Suns are a horrible 46-73-4 ATS when playing a revenge-minded foe they defeated by 20+ points earlier in the season, including 6-23-1 ATS on the road if their opponent was off back to back losses, while New Orleans has gone 10-0-1 ATS at home when playing with revenge from a 25-point loss. And the Pelicans are also 14-8 ATS in the last 22 meetings with the Suns. Finally, the Pelicans fall into a 93-36 ATS system of mine which plays on certain teams off back to back SU/ATS losses vs. foes off back to back SU/ATS wins. Take New Orleans + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-02-21 | Grizzlies v. Pacers -5.5 | Top | 116-134 | Win | 100 | 16 h 52 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Indiana Pacers minus the points over Memphis. The Grizzlies played last night in San Antonio, and completed a 2-game sweep of the Spurs with 133-102 blowout win. And that followed a 129-112 victory over San Antonio on Saturday. But off those two huge upset wins, we'll fade the unrested Grizzlies in Indianapolis tonight. Indeed, teams off back-to-back upset wins, in which they scored 120+ points, have gone 0-14-1 ATS if they won their previous game by double-digits, and weren't favored by 10+ points in their current game. Even better: the Pacers are off back-to-back upset losses to Philly and Charlotte. But Indiana is an awesome 69-33 ATS off back to back ATS losses, if they were favored by less than 14 points at home, and matched up against an opponent off a win. Lay the points with Indiana. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-02-21 | Eastern Illinois +2.5 v. SIU-Edwardsville | Top | 70-61 | Win | 100 | 3 h 37 m | Show |
At 6:05 pm, our selection is on the Eastern Illinois Panthers + the points over SIU-Edwardsville. The Panthers come into this game on a ghastly 8-game SU/ATS losing streak. And they were actually favored in five of those eight games. And their last three games were among the four worst performances, as they failed to cover the spread by 20, 18.5 and 27.5 points. This is certainly an "ugly" play tonight, but we will take the Panthers as a small underdog to avenge their loss to Edwardsville a week ago. For technical support, we note that NCAA teams that failed to cover the spread by 18+ points in each of their three previous games have covered 64.7% over the last 31 years. Take the Panthers + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-01-21 | Oklahoma v. Texas Tech -6.5 | Top | 52-57 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 26 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Texas Tech Red Raiders minus the points over Oklahoma. The Sooners have won five games in a row. And Oklahoma was dressed up as an underdog in each of its last three games. They'll now travel to Lubbock to try to avenge a 69-67 home loss in Norman, back in December. Unfortunately for Oklahoma, .700 (or better) NCAA teams off 3 upset wins are an awful 36% ATS in the regular season since 1990, including 2-7 ATS this season. And Big 12 underdogs are a wallet-breaking 35% ATS in conference games when they won and covered their previous five games. Take Texas Tech minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-01-21 | Suns v. Mavs -136 | Top | 109-108 | Loss | -136 | 4 h 26 m | Show |
At 8:35 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks over Phoenix. The Mavs are currently on a 5-game SU/ATS losing streak following a six-point loss to these Suns two nights ago. But Dallas will get a 2nd bite at the apple this evening, and we'll lay the points with the revenge-minded Mavs. Dallas is a super 24-9 ATS off a loss, when playing with revenge from a home loss against an opponent off a SU win. And Phoenix is an awful 11-22 ATS when off an upset road win, and not getting double digits. And it's 21-32 ATS vs. revenge-minded losing teams. Finally, Dallas falls into 232-119 and 83-52 ATS revenge systems of mine. Take Dallas. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-01-21 | Canucks v. Canadiens -160 | Top | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 13 h 29 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Montreal Canadiens over the Vancouver Canucks. Heading into Saturday's game with the Flames, the Canadiens were one of the highest-scoring teams in the league, netting four or more goals in six of their seven games (with 3 goals scored in the 7th game). But Calgary was able to -- temporarily at least -- squelch Montreal's offensive firepower, and handed the Habs a 2-0 shutout defeat. This, despite Montreal out-shooting the Flames 37-32, adding to its already dominant 34.5 shots-per-game average. Montreal's cast of young offensive stars, led by centers Kotkaniemi and Suzuki, are picking up this season where they left off in the 2020 playoffs. So, the scoring outbursts and 5-1-2 record really isn't that surprising. This is a team that can make a deep post-season run, and will do so, perhaps, for many years to come. The Canucks are having some success as well, riding a four-game win streak but it should be noted that three of those have come against the lowly Senators. And they've also struggled on the road so far (2-3). Finally, Montreal is 15-4 (+11 games on the money line) in its last 19 coming off a home loss by two goals or more. Take the Canadiens. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
02-01-21 | Bradley -128 v. Indiana State | Top | 55-67 | Loss | -128 | 2 h 56 m | Show |
At 5 pm, our selection is on the Bradley Braves minus the points over Indiana State. These two teams met yesterday in Terre Haute, and the Sycamores came away with a narrow, 60-57, win. We'll take the Braves to avenge that defeat, and lay the small number this afternoon. For technical support, consider that .316 (or better) Missouri Valley teams are 173-110 ATS if they were on a 3-game (or worse) ATS losing streak, and their opponent was off a SU/ATS win. With the Braves currently riding a 4-game point spread losing streak, we'll step in and take them in this revenge spot. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-31-21 | UNLV v. Nevada -2 | Top | 60-89 | Win | 100 | 18 h 27 m | Show |
At 9:30 pm, our selection is on the Nevada Wolf Pack minus the points over UNLV. Nevada comes into this rivalry game off back to back road losses at Wyoming. But the good news for Nevada is that it's a wallet-fattening 56-23 ATS vs. .700 (or worse) foes, if the Wolf Pack weren't favored by double-digits, and were off a loss to a conference foe. Meanwhile, the Rebels are a woeful 25-44-2 ATS on the road when not getting more than 6 points. Take Nevada. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-31-21 | Sam Houston State v. Stephen F Austin -5 | Top | 68-78 | Win | 100 | 13 h 59 m | Show |
At 4 pm, our selection is on the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks minus the points over Sam Houston State. The Lumberjacks saw their six-game win streak snapped in Abilene on Wednesday, when they fell to the Wildcats, 82-62, as a 2.5-point underdog. Meanwhile, the Bearkats have won their last 10 games, including a 75-70 win over the Islanders in Corpus Christi, as a 9-point road favorite. But even though Sam Houston has won its last 10 games, it finds itself installed as an underdog this afternoon. And the reason should be obvious: the Lumberjacks just don't lose at home, in Nacogdoches. To wit: they've won 16 straight, and 24 of their last 25 home games. Even better: the Lumberjacks fall into one of my favorite systems which is 382-237 ATS since 1990, which plays on certain home favorites with strong home courts. Take the Lumberjacks to blow out the Bearkats. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-31-21 | Jazz v. Nuggets +1.5 | Top | 117-128 | Win | 100 | 3 h 29 m | Show |
At 3:35 pm, our selection is on the Denver Nuggets + the points over Utah. The Jazz have won and covered 11 straight, including a 109-105 win over the Nuggets when these two teams met in Salt Lake City two weeks ago. Today's game is in Denver, and we'll take the homestanding Nuggets to avenge that loss. Indeed, NBA teams off 5 straight ATS wins are a soft 47-83 ATS when not favored by 3+ points, if their opponent lost and failed to cover by more than 9 points in its previous game. With the Nuggets in off a double-digit SU/ATS loss to the Spurs, 119-109, on Friday, and also 29-19 ATS their last 48 when playing with revenge, we'll grab the points with the home dog today. |
01-31-21 | Middle Tennessee +14.5 v. UABÂ | Top | 52-63 | Win | 100 | 12 h 58 m | Show |
At 3 pm, our selection is on the Middle Tennessee St. Blue Raiders + the points over UAB. This is a rematch of a game played in Murfreesboro on Thursday, which was won by UAB, 70-59. Tonight's game will switch venues, and be played in Birmingham. And we'll take the double-digits with the underdog, as UAB is a dreadful 14-29-1 ATS vs. revenge-minded foes if the Blazers won and covered the spread in the meeting earlier in the season. Take Middle Tennessee + the points. |
01-31-21 | Illinois State +19 v. Drake | Top | 76-78 | Win | 100 | 12 h 57 m | Show |
At 3 pm, our selection is on the Illinois State Redbirds + the points over Drake. The Redbirds went 0-2 SU/ATS at home last weekend when they were upset not once, but twice by Valparaiso. But road underdogs of more than 12 points have covered 63.1% since 1994 off back to back upset losses at home. And sub-.400 teams are 10-0 ATS their last 10 (and 22-4 ATS their last 26) vs. foes off 3 SU/ATS wins. Take the Redbirds + the points. |

01-31-21 | Sacred Heart v. Mt. St. Mary's -5 | Top | 64-76 | Win | 100 | 2 h 25 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the Mount St Marys Mountaineers minus the points over Sacred Heart. The Pioneers went into Emmitsburg yesterday, and upset Mount St. Mary's, 61-58, as a 5-point underdog. That was Mount St. Mary's first home loss this season. And it had been 3-0 SU/ATS at home, with an average cover by 13.33 points greater than the point spread. We'll take the Mountaineers to turn the tables on Sacred Heart, and avenge that home upset loss with a blowout win today, as Mount St. Mary's is 13-9 ATS when playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season, and 18-13 ATS off back to back losses, overall. Sacred Heart, meanwhile, is 5-9 ATS off a road win, and 9-14 ATS off back to back wins, overall. And the Pioneers also fall into a negative 93-150 ATS system of mine that goes against certain underdogs in conference games off back to back wins. Take the Mountaineers to blow out Sacred Heart. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-30-21 | Dixie State +10 v. California Baptist | Top | 79-75 | Win | 100 | 6 h 39 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Dixie State Trailblazers + the points over California Baptist. These two teams met last night, and the Lancers notched their 5th straight victory, and handed the Trailblazers their 7th straight loss, with an 89-74 win. But we'll grab the points with the Trailblazers in this rematch. And, for technical suport, we note that home teams off 5+ wins have covered just 32.3% since 1990 against conference foes off 5+ losses, if our home team wasn't favored by 12+ points. Take Dixie State. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie |
01-30-21 | Western Illinois +5 v. North Dakota | Top | 99-87 | Win | 100 | 5 h 8 m | Show |
At 8:30 pm, our selection is on the Western Illinois Leathernecks + the points over North Dakota. Last night's game between these two Summit League rivals went down to the wire, and the Fighting Hawks won by two points, 83-81, as a 4-point home favorite. For Round 2, the oddsmakers have increased the number slightly, and we'll happily take the added value with the road underdog. North Dakota is a poor 8-23 ATS its last 31 when not playing with revenge, and 5-12 ATS off a straight-up win. Moreover, Western Illinois falls into a 46-14 ATS system of mine which plays on certain teams off conference losses. Take the points with the Leathernecks. |
01-30-21 | Kings v. Heat -5 | Top | 104-105 | Loss | -112 | 11 h 34 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat minus the points over Sacramento. The Kings won last night against Toronto, as an underdog. And that was their 2nd straight upset win, as they won at Orlando on Wednesday. Sacramento now will play a Miami team which should be in an ornery mood following five straight losses. But all five of those games were vs. talented opposition (Raptors, Nuggets, Clippers, Nets (twice)). The Heat will no doubt relish tonight's game against the 8-10 Kings. And Miami is 50-19 ATS off back to back losses when playing an opponent off a SU win. And it's 43-18 ATS on a 3-game point spread losing streak. Take Miami minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-30-21 | Stanford v. Arizona State -1.5 | Top | 75-79 | Win | 100 | 11 h 37 m | Show |
At 8 pm, our selection is on the Arizona State Sun Devils minus the points over Stanford. The Cardinal come into Tempe off back to back upset wins over UCLA and Arizona. Unfortunately, underdogs off back to back upset wins over .750 (or better) conference foes have not been profitable over the last 31 years. Meanwhile, the Sun Devils snapped a six-game losing streak on Thursday with a 72-68 win over California. But they failed to cover the 9.5-point spread, which extended their ATS futility this season to 2-11 ATS. But this lack of success "in Vegas" has created point spread value here, and we'll take advantage of this value, and lay the small number. The Sun Devils are 7-3-1 ATS their last 11 meetings with Stanford, and 11-6 ATS as a home favorite vs. Stanford. And ASU is also 8-4-1 ATS vs. foes off back to back upset wins, including a perfect 3-0 ATS at home. Finally, the Sun Devils fall into a super NCAA Basketball system of mine which is 252-168 ATS since 1990, as well as a 2nd system which is 188-114 ATS. Take the Sun Devils. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-30-21 | Tarleton St +7.5 v. Utah Valley | Top | 70-62 | Win | 100 | 5 h 38 m | Show |
At 8 pm, our selection is on the Tarleton State Texans + the points over Utah Valley. The Wolverines won, 73-60, here at home vs. Tarleton last night, as a 6.5-point home favorite. The line is a tad higher for this rematch, and we'll take the road underdog Texans. It's true that Tarleton has yet to win in WAC Conference play, at 0-5, while Utah Valley is undefeated, at 4-0. But teams with an undefeated conference record (at conference Game #5 forward) have only covered 38.1% vs. teams that were winless in conference play, if our unbeaten team wasn't favored by double-digits. Take the Texans + the points. |
01-30-21 | Predators v. Lightning -170 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 38 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Tampa Bay Lightning over the Nashville Predators. The Lightning lost just their second game of the season on Thursday and it was a tough pill to swallow. Tampa and Carolina were tied after 60 minutes but the 'Canes struck just 1:12 into OT for a 1-0 victory at home. The bottom line is that the Bolts were rusty, having not played since last Saturday due to Carolina's COVID restrictions (Thursday's game was postponed twice). Tampa should be much sharper tonight coming off that loss, and will play a Predators team which is coming in off two straight victories. Those were against the Blackhawks (both in OT), but the Lightning will pose a much bigger problem for Nashville tonight. The Preds have lost four straight road games going back to last season, while Tampa is undefeated at home this season (2-0).  The Preds are also 2-9 (-11 games on the money line) in their last 11 coming off of consecutive one-goal wins. Finally, the Bolts are 22-3 (+17 games on the money line) in their last 25 after scoring one goal or less in their previous game. Take Tampa. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

01-30-21 | Eastern Illinois +3 v. SE Missouri State | Top | 44-75 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 32 m | Show |
At 6 pm, our selection is on the Eastern Illinois Panthers + the points over Southeast Missouri. The Panthers are on a 7-game SU/ATS losing streak, including a double-digit upset loss at Tennessee-Martin on Thursday. We'll take the Panthers this evening, as road underdogs off an upset loss, and 5 SU/ATS losses, overall, have cashed 64% since 1990. Take Eastern Illinois + the points. |
01-30-21 | Air Force -3 v. San Jose State | Top | 62-75 | Loss | -109 | 9 h 31 m | Show |
At 6 pm, our selection is on the Air Force minus the points over San Jose State. This is a rematch of a game played two nights ago here, in San Jose. The Spartans upset Air Force in that game, 59-58. We'll lay the points with the Falcons in Round 2, as San Jose is a poor 10-23 ATS at home vs. revenge-minded opponents off a loss. Meanwhile, Air Force falls into a 149-92 ATS system of mine which plays on certain favorites off upset defeats. Take the Falcons minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-30-21 | New Orleans +1.5 v. Southeastern Louisiana | Top | 73-79 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 33 m | Show |
At 5 pm, our selection is on the New Orleans Privateers + the points over SE Louisiana. The Privateers fall into 72-20 and 153-88 ATS systems of mine, and we'll grab the points with New Orleans this afternoon. They come into this game off back to back road losses at Nicholls State and at Northwestern State. But New Orleans is a solid 33-16 ATS off back to back road losses, and 18-9 ATS their last 27 conference road games. Take the Privateers + the points. |
01-30-21 | Tennessee State v. Austin Peay -9.5 | Top | 56-71 | Win | 100 | 8 h 32 m | Show |
At 5 pm, our selection is on the Austin Peay Governors minus the points over Tennessee State. The Governors will host Tennessee State this afternoon, and look to snap a 2-game home losing streak, after dropping games to Jacksonville State and Belmont over the previous seven days. That lowered Austin Peay's record to 8-6. But the good news for Austin Peay is that .500 (or better) teams, off back to back home losses, have gone 129-86, 60% ATS when priced between -5 and -15 points. Even better: the Governors are 29-9 ATS off a loss, when favored by 11 or less points (or PK), if they owned a winning record. Take Austin Peay minus the points. |
01-30-21 | Delaware State v. Norfolk State -13 | Top | 66-94 | Win | 100 | 7 h 7 m | Show |
At 4:30 pm, our selection is on the Norfolk State Spartans minus the points over Delaware State. The Spartans had won 4 straight before dropping back to back games at Coppin State last weekend. But I love them to bounce back at home this afternoon, as they'll face cellar-dwelling Delaware State. The Hornets have yet to win a game this season, as they are 0-10, including two home losses earlier to Norfolk State. We'll go against Delaware State this afternoon, as sub-.400 underdogs of more than 13 points have cashed just 26.6 percent since 1990 when playing with double-revenge against a foe off a SU/ATS loss. And the Hornets are also an awful 1-9 ATS their last 10 when getting 13+ points. Meanwhile, the Spartans are a solid 15-5 ATS off back to back ATS losses, and 7-1 ATS off back to back road losses. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-30-21 | Southern -3.5 v. Alcorn State | Top | 76-59 | Win | 100 | 7 h 3 m | Show |
At 4:30 pm, our selection is on the Southern University Jaguars minus the points over Alcorn State. The Braves come into this game off 3 straight wins, while Southern has dropped its last two games -- both on the road -- to Alabama A&M and Alabama State. The Jaguars are now 3-6 on the season, but we'll lay the points with Southern as losing teams have gone 105-72 ATS as road favorites off back to back losses. And Alcorn State is a poor 1-8 ATS at home vs. losing teams. Take Southern. |
01-30-21 | Auburn +14.5 v. Baylor | Top | 72-84 | Win | 100 | 7 h 36 m | Show |
At 4 pm, our selection is on the Auburn Tigers + the points over Baylor. Not many teams have been able to test the Bears this season, but I love Auburn in this game. The Tigers got off to a slow start, with 4 ATS losses out of the gate.  But they've gone 9-3-1 ATS since then, including a perfect 6-0 ATS their last six. And this 6-game ATS win streak has coincided with arrival of freshman point guard Sharife Cooper, who was ruled eligible by the NCAA after he missed the season's first 11 games. Auburn's 88-82 win over 12th-ranked Missouri this week was most impressive. Bruce Pearl's Tigers were led by Cooper, who poured in 28 points, and added eight rebounds and seven assists. And Pearl's teams have gone 37-20-2 ATS against .790 (or better) opposition when not favored by 2+ points. Don't be surprised if this game goes down to the wire. Grab the points with Auburn. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-29-21 | Mavs +4 v. Jazz | Top | 101-120 | Loss | -104 | 6 h 8 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, on ESPN-TV, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks + the points over Utah. The Jazz blew out the Mavs, 116-104, on Wednesday night, but we'll come right back with Dallas in this rematch. The Jazz have now won and covered 10 straight. But NBA home teams on 10-game ATS win streaks have cashed just 1 of 15 if they covered by 5+ points in their previous game. And Dallas is a solid 112-66 ATS off a loss, if its opponent is off a win, including 20-10 ATS as a road underdog with revenge. Take the Mavericks + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-29-21 | Nets -9 v. Thunder | Top | 147-125 | Win | 100 | 8 h 33 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Brooklyn Nets minus the points over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder return home off back to back upset wins over the Trail Blazers and Suns, and will welcome the Nets, who they defeated earlier this month in Brooklyn, 129-116. We'll go against OKC, and take the revenge-minded Nets, as underdogs have covered just 97 of 241 off back to back upset wins, if they were playing a non-division foe who it defeated earlier in the season. Additionally, the Nets are a super 42-19 ATS on the road when playing with revenge. Take Brooklyn minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-29-21 | Clippers v. Magic -3.5 | Top | 116-90 | Loss | -108 | 8 h 32 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Orlando Magic minus the points over the Los Angeles Clippers. Last night, Los Angeles went into Miami, and upset the Heat, 109-105, as a 5-point underdog. And that was L.A.'s eighth win in its last nine games. But off that win, we will fade the Clippers in this game, as they're 0-11 ATS as an underdog (or PK) in non-division games, if they pulled off an upset win in their previous game. Take Orlando. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-29-21 | Longwood -1 v. Presbyterian | Top | 49-45 | Win | 100 | 5 h 29 m | Show |
At 6 pm, our selection is on the Longwood Lancers minus the points over Presbyterian Blue Hose. Longwood has been installed as a small road favorite this evening, and we'll lay the points, as Presbyterian is a woeful 27.7% ATS when not getting 7+ points. Even better: the Blue Hose won 71-56 at High Point on Monday, but are a wallet-busting 3-10 ATS off a road win. And, finally, Longwood falls into a 103-53 ATS 'contrarian' system of mine which plays on certain road favorites with a losing record. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-28-21 | Eastern Illinois -8 v. Tenn-Martin | Top | 41-51 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 26 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Eastern Illinois Panthers minus the points over Tennessee-Martin. We played on the Panthers two nights ago, at home vs. SIU-Edwardsville, and came up short when the Panthers were upset by the Cougars, 87-74. That was Eastern Illinois' 2nd straight upset defeat, as they also lost, 65-54, at Tennessee St last Saturday. The good news, though, for tonight's game is that NCAA teams have cashed 61.8% on the road vs. conference foes, if they were off back to back double-digit upset losses. And if their opponent was off an upset win (as Tennessee-Martin is), then our 61.8% angle zooms to 71% since 1990. Lay the points with Eastern Illinois. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-28-21 | Belmont v. Austin Peay +5.5 | Top | 81-76 | Win | 100 | 9 h 25 m | Show |
At 8:30 pm, our selection is on the Austin Peay Governors + the points over Belmont. The Governors will look to bounce back from Saturday's 76-70 upset loss at the hands of Jacksonville St., as a 4-point home favorite. They'll welcome the red-hot Bruins, who come into this game off a monstrous 52-point win against SIU-Edwardsville. And that was Belmont's 13th straight win, as well. Unfortunately, NCAA teams off 40-point SU/ATS wins are an awful 21.4% over the last 31 years as road favorites vs. foes off upset losses. And the Governors have cashed 63% since 1990 off an upset loss vs. foes off a SU/ATS win. Take Austin Peay + the points. |
01-28-21 | Islanders -130 v. Capitals | Top | 3-6 | Loss | -130 | 8 h 32 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the New York Islanders over the Washington Capitals. Heading into last weekend, Washington was already without four of its top players due to COVID-19 protocols (Ovechkin, Orlov, Kuznetsov, and Samsonov). Then Tom Wilson -- perhaps their best player through the first four games -- went down with an injury on Friday night. And as if that wasn't enough, the Caps lost two more key players in Centers Nicklas Backstrom (puck to the face) and Lars Eller (possible concussion) in Tuesday night's gritty victory over these Islanders here in DC. There's no word on those two and so it's a good bet that for this rematch with NY, the Caps will be without all seven of the aforementioned stars, and that's a huge mountain to climb against this talented opponent. The Islanders are 27-9 (+18 games on the money line) in their last 36 games after scoring two goals or less in each of their previous two contests. And they're 29-15 their last 44 division road games. Take New York. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
01-28-21 | Bradley -5.5 v. Valparaiso | Top | 85-91 | Loss | -109 | 7 h 26 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Bradley Braves minus the points over Valparaiso. The Crusaders upset Illinois State not once, but twice last weekend on the road. They're back home tonight to take on the 9-7 Braves. But Valpo is 0-9 ATS its last nine (and 10-24 ATS its last 34) off an upset win, if matched up against .534 (or better) opposition. Lay the points with Bradley. |
01-27-21 | Mavs +4 v. Jazz | Top | 104-116 | Loss | -109 | 12 h 19 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks + the points over Utah. The Jazz have ripped off 9 straight wins (and covers), and now welcome the Mavericks for a 2-game series in Salt Lake City. The Mavericks are an awesome 88-48 ATS off a SU/ATS loss when they're playing an opponent off a win, including a terrific 35-11 ATS when Dallas owned a losing record, and its opponent had a winning record. Even better: Utah falls into a negative 13-42 ATS system of mine which goes against certain teams on extended win streaks. Take Dallas to upset the Jazz tonight. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-27-21 | Kansas State +24.5 v. Baylor | Top | 59-107 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 36 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Kansas State Wildcats + the points over Baylor. We picked Baylor at the start of the season (at 12-1 odds) to win this year's championship, so its 14-0 start hasn't surprised us. We did go against the Bears once this year, and got the $$$ with Alcorn St., as a 43-point underdog. And we'll also take the big number with the revenge-minded Wildcats tonight, as they lost, 100-69, earlier this season to Baylor. For technical support, consider that revenge-minded underdogs off a SU loss have gone 129-79 ATS vs. .850 (or better) foes, if our underdog lost the previous meeting by more than 21 points. Take Kansas State + the points. |
01-27-21 | Boise State v. Colorado State +2.5 | Top | 56-78 | Win | 100 | 14 h 34 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Colorado State Rams + the points over Boise State. This is great matchup in Fort Collins tonight, as the Rams are 11-3, while Boise is 12-1. And these two teams will also get together on Friday night for a second game. We'll take Colorado State in this game, as home underdogs with a winning record have gone 130-96 ATS vs. foes on a 10-game (or longer) win streak, if that foe was off a 15-point SU/ATS win in its previous game. Take the Rams + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-27-21 | Drake v. Missouri State +4 | Top | 78-73 | Loss | -108 | 13 h 36 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Missouri State Bears + the points over Drake. We played (and lost) on the Bears last night. But we will come right back with them in this rematch, as the Bears are 18-3-1 ATS at home when they were playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season, and priced from -1 to +5 points.  And Drake, by virtue of its undefeated record, falls in negative 6-25 and 79-125 ATS systems of mine that go against undefeated road favorite. |
01-27-21 | Wake Forest v. NC State -7 | Top | 67-72 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 32 m | Show |
At 8 pm, our selection is on the NC State Wolfpack minus the points over Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons upset Pitt, 76-75, on Saturday, and that was their 2nd straight ATS win. Meanwhile, the Wolfpack have lost their last four games, straight-up (and last five ATS). The knee-jerk reaction might be to take the points with the Demon Deacons, and go against the ice-cold Wolfpack. But be careful. Since 1990, NCAA teams off 3 losses have gone 107-53 ATS as home favorites of -7 (or more points), when playing an opponent off a SU/ATS win, if that opponent also covered two games back. Take the Wolfpack to blow out Wake Forest. |
01-27-21 | Western Carolina +2.5 v. VMI | Top | 61-87 | Loss | -109 | 12 h 35 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Western Carolina Catamounts plus the points over VMI. The Catamounts have lost their last five games, including the last three ATS. But off this string of bad games, we'll step in and take the points with Western Carolina as a road underdog. Indeed, road teams have gone 158-117 ATS off 5+ losses (and 3+ ATS losses), if they weren't getting 6+ points. And Western Carolina also falls into 83-29, 48-16 and 46-13 ATS systems of mine that play on certain teams off a SU/ATS loss. Take the Catamounts + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-27-21 | Vanderbilt +13 v. Florida | Top | 71-78 | Win | 100 | 11 h 7 m | Show |
At 6:30 pm, our selection is on the Vanderbilt Commodores + the points over Florida. The Commodores were blown out by 21 points, 92-71, at home, in their last game. But off that horrible defeat, we'll take the Commodores as a double-digit road underdog on Wednesday, as they're 8-0-1 ATS after giving up 85 points. And SEC double-digit underdogs are a powerful 108-57 ATS vs. .636 (or better) conference foes since 1990 after losing by more than 11 points in their previous game. Take Vanderbilt + the double-digits. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-26-21 | Sharks v. Avalanche -210 | Top | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 17 h 43 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Colorado Avalanche over the San Jose Sharks. It's been a bit of a slow start for the Avs, a team that many (including myself) have picked to win it all this season. Colorado fell to 3-3 on the season after a tough loss to the Ducks on Sunday in a game they dominated, out-shooting Anaheim by a lopsided 33-15. Expectations were much lower for the Sharks going into this season than they were for the Avs, especially given that they tried to solve their goalie issues by bringing in veteran Devan Dubnyk from Minnesota. Dubnyk is coming off a disastrous season in which he went 12-15-2 with an awful .890 save percentage. And judging from his work so far it would seem things in San Jose aren't going to get better for him in 2021. Given these numbers, Dubnyk's acquisition is a big head-scratcher, but certainly not the first for a Sharks franchise which often can't get out of its own way. San Jose comes in off of a big 5-3 win over the Wild, but the Sharks are just 8-16 (-13 games on the money line) in their last 24 coming off of a road win in which they scored more than three goals. Take the Avalanche. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
01-26-21 | Georgia Tech v. Duke -5.5 | Top | 68-75 | Win | 100 | 17 h 43 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Duke Blue Devils minus the points over Georgia Tech. This isn't your grandfather's Blue Devils team. Duke enters tonight on a 3-game losing streak and, even worse, a five-game ATS losing streak. And it's been almost 5 years since the last time Duke was on a 5-game ATS losing streak, and it's been more than 5 years since the Blue Devils had lost 3 games in a row. The reason, of course, is that Mike Krzyzewski's team has been a model of consistency. And nowhere is that evident more in how his team has responded off ATS losses. Indeed, dating back to 1997, Duke is 159-103 ATS in the regular season as a favorite on an ATS losing streak. And if the Devils were off 3 ATS losses, then our records zooms to 23-7 ATS. Even better: Georgia Tech has had little success vs. Duke over the years, as it's lost the last 13 games in a row, and 47 of the last 55. And the Yellow Jackets are a wallet-busting 18-35-1 ATS over their last 54 meetings with Duke. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-26-21 | Wizards +1.5 v. Rockets | Top | 88-107 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 44 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Washington Wizards over the Houston Rockets. In their previous two games, the Rockets pulled upsets on the road, as they defeated Detroit, 103-102, as a 3-point dog, and Dallas, 133-108, as a 7-point dog. Houston's now back home to take on the Wizards, who lost by 20 at San Antonio on Sunday. We'll take Washington, as .400 (or worse) teams (like Houston) have covered just 29.6% since 1990 off back to back upset road wins, if they were matched up against an opponent off a double-digit loss. Take the Wizards. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-26-21 | SIU-Edwardsville v. Eastern Illinois -6.5 | Top | 87-74 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 37 m | Show |
At 8 pm, our selection is on the Eastern Illinois Panthers minus the points over SIU-Edwardsville. Eastern Illinois is 5-10 on the season, and comes into tonight's game on a 5-game losing streak, including an upset loss, 65-54, at Tennessee State, on Saturday. The knee-jerk reaction might be to try to fade the ice cold Panthers. But consider that sub-.400 teams are 23-2-2 ATS in the regular season, including 11-0 ATS their last 11, off an upset loss, if they were also on a 5-game SU/ATS losing streak. Lay the points with Eastern Illinois. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

01-26-21 | Drake v. Missouri State +4 | Top | 68-61 | Loss | -106 | 16 h 36 m | Show |
At 8 pm, our selection is on the Missouri State Bears + the points over Drake. This is an historic match-up -- at least in betting circles -- as the 11-0 ATS Bulldogs (13-0 straight-up) will take on the 7-1 ATS Bears (9-1 straight-up). And never in the last 31 years has there been a match-up of two teams with ATS records this good. If there will be a problem for Drake tonight, it very well could be the fact that they've not played in over three weeks due to the coronavirus. Among sports handicappers, there is always the debate of "rest vs. rust," and I personally have always believed that extended rest leads to "rusty" play -- especially with teams that were overperforming prior to their break. We'll fade Drake tonight, as it falls into negative 34-52, 126-182, and 63-158 ATS systems of mine that go against certain teams off SU/ATS wins. Additionally, .890 (or better) home underdogs have gone 11-0 ATS their last 11 when they were on a 3-game SU/ATS win streak. Take Missouri State + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie |

01-24-21 | Bills v. Chiefs OVER 54 | Top | 24-38 | Win | 100 | 57 h 22 m | Show |
At 6:40 pm, our selection is on the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills to go 'over' the total. This play is largely technical in nature, as it falls into two very good Playoff totals systems of mine that are 33-15 and 73-38 since 1991. And we'll look for a high-scoring game regardless of who is under center for Kansas City on Sunday. For further technical support, consider that the Chiefs are 19-12 'over' the total in games after both they and their opponent went 'under' in their previous games, while Playoff games have sailed 'over' the total 62% since 1980 when the line was greater than 53 points, and the two teams averaged a combined 59+ points on offense. Finally, NFL Conference Championship games have gone 'over' 63% when the line was greater than 46 points. Take the Bills and Chiefs to go over the total. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

01-24-21 | Golden Knights -163 v. Coyotes | Top | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 10 h 2 m | Show |
At 4:05 pm, our selection is on the Vegas Golden Knights over the Arizona Coyotes. The Knights lost their first game of the season on Friday night. And it came in the 3rd of a 4-game series vs. this Coyotes team. Now they have an immediate chance at revenge, which will so often be the case in this reshuffled season. Vegas is a talented group, and the players believe they can get back to the Cup finals and bring home the hardware they lost to the Capitals in 2018. Last year, the team's management signaled a new direction in goaltending when they signed Robin Lehner at the trade deadline, and went through the playoffs with him as their #1 net-minder instead of Marc Andre Fleury. And after signing a big contract in the off-season it would appear that Lehner is indeed the man going forward. The 29-year-old Swede's presence between the pipes certainly has paid off thus far for the 4-1 Knights. On offense, newly-acquired (from St. Louis) Alex Pietrangelo and stalwart Shea Theodore form one of the best blue-line tandems in the league. We'll take Vegas to bounce back off its loss, as the Knights are 10-2 (+7 games on the money line) in their last 12 immediately following a defeat to a division rival, while Arizona is the mirror opposite -- 2 wins and 10 losses following a division win. Take Vegas. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

01-24-21 | Bucs v. Packers -3 | Top | 31-26 | Loss | -125 | 54 h 29 m | Show |
At 3:05 pm, our selection is on the Green Bay Packers minus the points over Tampa Bay. Two weeks ago, in the Wild Card round, we played on the Rams to upset Seattle as our #1 Side Play in the opening round of the Playoffs. Then, last week, we tabbed Green Bay over the Rams as our top Side play in the quarterfinals. For the semi-finals, we'll once again take the Packers as our #1 play, and go against a Buccaneers team playing its 3rd straight road game. Last Saturday, the Ravens also were saddled with their 3rd straight road game, and they were annihilated by Buffalo, 17-3. In the NFL Playoffs, since 1980, teams playing their 3rd straight game on the road are a woeful 22-40-3 ATS. That doesn't bode well for Tampa Bay at Lambeau. And neither does the fact that Green Bay is an awesome 11-0 ATS with Aaron Rodgers under center, if the Packers weren't favored by 13+ points, and their opponent was off a point spread win, and playing their 2nd straight road game. Of course, it's true that Tampa Bay handed the Packers their worst loss of the seasons -- a 38-10 trouncing. But Green Bay has gone 15-1 SU and 14-2 ATS with Rodgers at QB, when playing with revenge, and favored between -2 and -7 points. Take the Packers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-23-21 | Warriors +6.5 v. Jazz | Top | 108-127 | Loss | -102 | 12 h 59 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Golden State Warriors + the points over Utah. The Jazz own the longest win streak in the league this season -- currently at 7 games. And they've also covered the spread in each of those seven victories. The knee-jerk reaction might be to play on Utah tonight against a Warriors team off a 15-point upset loss to the Knicks on Thursday. But teams on a 5-game (or better) ATS win streak have only covered 38% over the last 31 years vs. foes off 15-point (or worse) upset losses. That bodes well for Steve Kerr's men tonight. As does the fact that Golden State is an awesome 16-0 ATS as a road underdog priced from +4.5 to +8.5, if it lost its previous game, and it was matched up against a winning opponent which won its previous game. Take Golden State + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-23-21 | Denver +14 v. North Dakota State | Top | 58-84 | Loss | -108 | 11 h 11 m | Show |
At 8:30 pm, our selection is on the Denver Pioneers + the points over North Dakota State. Minus their two leading scorers, the Pioneers were competitive in defeat last night. They were a big, double-digit underdog here, in Fargo, but managed to cover the point spread in a 70-58 loss -- their 11th straight, overall. I expect Denver's Jase Townsend to return from his ankle injury tonight, and his scoring will be welcome. We'll take the Pioneers + the points, as NCAA double-digit underdogs, off 10+ losses, have gone 198-143 ATS if they were playing with revenge, and their opponent wasn't off 3 SU/ATS losses. And Denver also falls into a 433-271 ATS system of mine which plays on certain sub-.200 teams to bounce back off losses. Take the Pioneers + the points. Good luck, as always....Al McMordie. |
01-23-21 | Kings v. Blues -195 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 1 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the St. Louis Blues over the Los Angeles Kings. The Blues followed up their Stanley Cup-winning 2018-2019 season with an even better effort in the shortened regular season of 2020. In just 71 games, the Blues went 42-19-10 and their 94 points was only five shy of the number they put up in their Championship campaign despite 11 fewer contests. For that reason, the 2021 version of this team looks very similar to last season (although they said goodbye to long-time captain Alex Pietrangelo while welcoming veteran D Torey Krug). There is little reason to think that this Blues club won't be at or near the top of their new division once again come playoff time.  After a tough shootout loss to the Sharks in their last game, the Blues will get a relative "breather" today in their first meeting with the Kings since December 2019. Overall, St. Louis has enjoyed quite a bit of success against tonight's opponent, taking nine of the last 13 meetings going back to the start of 2016. The Blues are also 21-12 (+7 games on the money line) in their last 33 immediately after scoring one goal or less in their previous game. Take St. Louis. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

01-23-21 | Florida Gulf Coast v. Lipscomb -5 | Top | 56-71 | Win | 100 | 11 h 43 m | Show |
At 8 pm, our selection is on the Lipscomb Bisons minus the points over Florida Gulf Coast. Last night, the Eagles upset the favored Bisons, 79-69, as a 6.5-point road underdog. We'll back the home team tonight in the rematch, as NCAA home teams, with win percentages between .400 and .750 have covered 62.6% since 1990 off back to back upset losses at home. Lay the points with Lipscomb. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-23-21 | Cal Poly +17 v. Cal-Irvine | Top | 44-67 | Loss | -108 | 10 h 49 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Cal Poly SLO Mustangs + the points over Cal Irvine. These two teams battled here, in Irvine, last night, and the Anteaters came away with a 68-49 victory, as a 16-point home favorite. That moved Cal Irvine's season record to 5-4 SU and 5-3 ATS. Unfortunately, Cal Irvine is a poor 8-22 ATS when favored by more than 10 points against revenge-minded conference foes, if Irvine owned a winning ATS ledger. And Cal Poly has cashed 60% over the last 31 years as a double-digit dog off a double-digit defeat, when matched up against foes off back to back wins. Finally, Big West Conference home teams, off back to back ATS wins, have covered just 25.8% over the last 31 years vs. foes off 3 ATS losses. Take Cal Poly SLO + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-23-21 | Prairie View A&M v. Mississippi Valley State +18.5 | Top | 77-31 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 44 m | Show |
At 4 pm, our selection is on the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils + the points over Prairie View. The Delta Devils are still looking for their first win this season, as they're 0-12 after getting annihilated by 41 points at Southern, on Monday. But NCAA underdogs of 11+ points have been reliable when playing at home off a loss by more than 38 points. Over the last 30 years, they've rebounded off such embarrassing defeats to cover 67% of the time. Take Mississippi Valley State + the points. |
01-23-21 | Tenn-Martin +12 v. Morehead State | Top | 44-76 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 44 m | Show |
At 4 pm, our selection is on the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks + the points over Morehead State. These two teams are headed in opposite directions: Morehead State has won its last six games, while the Skyhawks have dropped eight straight. But as is often my wont, I will go against the "hot" Eagles, and take the points with the "cold" Skyhawks. Indeed, Tennessee-Martin falls into several of my better contrarian angles, with records of 122-59 and 425-237 ATS since 1990. Also, in this series, the underdog has covered five of six when getting 11+ points. And Morehead has covered just 43 of 105 when favored by 6+ points. Take Tennessee-Martin. |
01-23-21 | San Jose State +10 v. New Mexico | Top | 83-71 | Win | 100 | 5 h 47 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the San Jose State Spartans + the points over New Mexico. These two Mountain West teams met Thursday here in St George, and the Lobos prevailed, 67-51, as an 8-point favorite, to snap a 2-game losing streak. Meanwhile, the Spartans' own losing streak was extended to five games. The line is higher for this rematch, and we will happily take the points with the underdog Spartans. Indeed, New Mexico has covered just six of 24 off a double-digit "home" win. And San Jose falls into 82-30, 50-13 and 29-2 ATS systems of mine that play on certain teams off 3+ losses. Take San Jose + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-23-21 | Connecticut v. Creighton -8 | Top | 66-74 | Push | 0 | 3 h 51 m | Show |
At 12 Noon, our selection is on the Creighton Bluejays minus the points over UConn. Both teams enter this game off upset losses: the Huskies fell at home, 74-70, as a 6.5-point favorite vs. St Johns, while Creighton was stunned here at home, by an identical 74-70 score, by Providence on Wednesday. And that was Creighton's 2nd straight defeat, as it also lost at Butler last Saturday. We'll take the Bluejays to bounce back today, as they're a terrific 18-0 straight-up, and 17-0-1 ATS when they were off exactly two losses, and favored by more than 3 points against conference foes. Take the Bluejays to blow out Connecticut. Good luck as always...Al McMordie. |
01-22-21 | Knicks v. Kings -4 | Top | 94-103 | Win | 100 | 14 h 32 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Sacramento Kings minus the points over the New York Knicks. Last night, Tom Thibodeau's troops pulled off their 3rd straight upset, as they whipped the Warriors, 119-104, as 5-point road underdogs. They're now installed as an underdog against the Sacramento Kings, who had last night off after dropping their 4th straight game on Wednesday, 115-96, vs. the Clippers. Unfortunately for the Knicks, teams off 3 straight upset wins are a poor 3-14 ATS their last 17 when not favored by more than 3 points. Even better: unrested teams off an upset win, and 3 ATS wins, overall, have cashed just 38% on the road since 1990 vs. foes off 3 ATS losses. Take Sacramento to blow out New York. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-22-21 | Nets -9.5 v. Cavs | Top | 113-125 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 3 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Brooklyn Nets minus the points over Cleveland. These two teams played two nights here, in Cleveland, and the Cavaliers came away with a 147-135 victory, in overtime. And that was the 2nd straight upset win earned by the Cavaliers, as they defeated the Knicks, 106-103, as a 2.5-point home dog last Friday. We'll go against Cleveland tonight, as Brooklyn is 42-17 ATS on the road when playing with revenge, including a perfect 14-0 ATS vs. foes with a win percentage between .450 and .572. And double-digit underdogs, off back to back upset wins, are a dreadful 52-83-3 ATS vs. non-division foes, including 10-25 ATS if their foe was playing with revenge. Lay the points with Brooklyn. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-22-21 | Oilers v. Maple Leafs -140 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 33 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Maple Leafs over the Edmonton Oilers. In the new all-Canadian NHL Scotia North Division, the Maple Leafs are clearly the team to beat. There was plenty of talent on this team last year to go all the way, but a five-game series loss to Columbus in the Qualifying round was a result of Toronto not having enough toughness. They seem to have addressed that in the off-season with the addition of a couple of gritty, 6'2" players in F Wayne Simmonds and D Zach Bogosian. The offense will continue to be led by All Stars Auston Matthews and John Tavares. And the addition of 41-year-old Joe Thornton should result in valuable experience off the ice, as well as on. With their upset victory on Wednesday, the Oilers have now taken two straight over Toronto going back to last season. But the Leafs have owned this series otherwise, winning 14 of the last 18 meetings going back to December 2010. Edmonton is also a poor 1-11 (-12 games on the money line) in its last 12 immediately off of a road win vs. a division rival. Take Toronto. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

01-22-21 | Southern Miss v. Texas-San Antonio -5 | Top | 64-70 | Win | 100 | 10 h 29 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Texas San Antonio Roadrunners minus the points over Southern Mississippi. UTSA returns home to the Alamo City to face Southern Miss after an 0-2 SU/ATS road trip at Louisiana Tech. Meanwhile, Southern Miss comes into the Lone Star State off back to back SU/ATS home wins over Middle Tennessee. We'll take the Roadrunners tonight, as they LOVE playing in front of their home faithful. Indeed, since February 2018, they're 19-5 ATS their last 24 at home, including a perfect 4-0 ATS vs. foes off 2 SU/ATS wins. And Texas San Antonio also falls into 251-167, 424-245 and 394-241 ATS systems of mine. Finally, the Golden Eagles are a wallet-busting 3-22-1 ATS as underdogs of less than 13 points (or PK) vs. sub-.720 foes, if the Golden Eagles were off back to back SU/ATS wins. Take the Roadrunners minus the points. |
01-21-21 | Flyers v. Bruins -130 | Top | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 12 h 48 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Boston Bruins over the Philadelphia Flyers. As expected, the Flyers have looked very good so far, with only one loss on their ledger after four games. But they've played two teams with suspect defenses in the Penguins and Sabres. And they have some players who have now landed on the COVID list as well as some others who are otherwise unhealthy coming into this match-up against the Bruins. The Flyers were already without #1 center Sean Couturier who has a rib separation, and now they may have to be without another as C Morgan Frost left Tuesday's game with an injury and was headed for an MRI as of this writing. That game was also potentially costly to Philadelphia's blue line as D Phillipe Myers was removed with an undisclosed injury and his status for tonight is questionable at best. Look for a very good Bruins team to take advantage as they go for their second win of the season in their home opener. Boston did get shutout in its last game, 1-0, by the Islanders. But the Bruins are 5-1 in their last six after being shut out, and they're 47-14 after giving up less than two goals in their previous game. Take Boston. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
01-21-21 | Wichita State v. Memphis -3 | Top | 52-72 | Win | 100 | 12 h 41 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Memphis Tigers minus the points over Wichita State. The Tigers return home off an upset loss at Tulsa on Sunday. Memphis was favored by 2 points in that game, yet fell by 1 point, 58-57. And that was Memphis' seventh straight ATS defeat. We'll take Penny Hardaway's men to break their ATS losing streak tonight, as NCAA teams off a conference road loss, that were on a 7-game (or worse) ATS losing streak, have gone 171-129 ATS, including 19-9 its last 28 vs. .666 (or better) foes. Additionally, the favorite has cashed 5 of 6 in this series. Lay the points with the Tigers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-20-21 | Wild -125 v. Ducks | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 17 h 47 m | Show |
At 9:35 pm, our selection is on the Minnesota Wild over the Anaheim Ducks. Despite making the playoffs in seven of the last eight seasons, the Wild have very little to show for their regular season success. In fact, you have to go back to 2015 to find the last time this team won a post-season series. That is the main reason there was a bit of a revamping after the 2019-2020 abbreviated campaign that ended with a loss to Vancouver in the qualifying round. Out are a pair of veteran Centers (Mikko Koivu and Eric Staal) and in comes veteran Marcus Johansson (trade from Buffalo) to take over the top spot there. The Wild also parted ways with G Devan Dubnyk and replaced him with Cam Talbot who signed on for three years. Whether or not these changes (and there were others) make a major difference come post-season remains to be seen but the team already seems to be playing with a bit of a chip on its shoulder. That chip could come in handy tonight as the Wild try to avenge a difficult 1-0 loss to this Ducks team on Monday despite winning the shots battle, 34-27. Anaheim is a poor 5-15 (-11 games on the money line) in its last 20 off a home win by one goal. Take Minnesota. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

01-20-21 | Suns -5.5 v. Rockets | Top | 109-103 | Win | 100 | 17 h 43 m | Show |
At 9:35 pm, our selection is on the Phoenix Suns minus the points over Houston. The Suns will finish up their 5-game road trip tonight, and look to bounce back off losses in their last two games -- both as road favorites. The good news for Phoenix is that it's 42-13-1 ATS off an upset road loss, including 11-2 ATS if they also lost two games back. And Houston is 0-8 ATS its last eight as home dogs of +4 (or more) points vs. winning opposition. Take Phoenix. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-20-21 | North Carolina-Asheville v. Gardner-Webb -1 | Top | 57-84 | Win | 100 | 5 h 3 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs minus the points over North Carolina Asheville. These two teams met here in Boiling Springs yesterday, and NC-Asheville came away with a 79-75 victory as a 1-point road favorite. We'll take the home team to avenge that home loss, as NCAA teams have gone 78-56 ATS in the 2nd of back to back meetings between the teams, if they lost at home in the first meeting, and were not an underdog of more than 1 point in that first game. Even better: Gardner-Webb has cashed 17 of 23 when playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season, while Asheville has covered just 9 of 29 off an ATS win. Take Gardner-Webb. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-20-21 | Mercer -6 v. The Citadel | Top | 83-63 | Win | 100 | 12 h 7 m | Show |
At 5 pm, our selection is on the Mercer Bears minus the points over The Citadel. After an 8-0 start, the Bulldogs have lost their last three games (vs Furman, at VMI and at NC Greensboro). We played against The Citadel in two of those, and will play against them here, at home, this afternoon. Indeed, The Citadel is a wallet-breaking 0-6 ATS its last six, and 25-48 ATS its last 73 at home off 3+ losses. And it's 0-16-1 ATS its last 17 (and 14-37-1 its last 52) at home off a double-digit road loss. Lay the points with Mercer. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-19-21 | Sabres v. Flyers -145 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 18 h 41 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Philadelphia Flyers over the Buffalo Sabres. After back-to-back losses to a very good Caps team to open the season, the Sabres were again decided underdogs in Game 3 on Monday against the undefeated Flyers. But they dominated last night and their reward is a rematch tonight in Philadelphia. The Flyers weren't very active in the free agent market, but they didn't need to be. The biggest additions this season will likely be two players that were already on their roster as Oskar Lindblom -- cancer recovery -- and Nolan Patrick -- migraine disorder -- could give the team huge boosts as they return to the ice. Lindblom's and Patrick's returns should give young goalie Carter Hart even more confidence as he continues his rise through the ranks of the NHL's elite net-minders. But with Hart having played last night, it will be veteran back-up Brian Elliott making his season debut in this one. The 35-year-old has been one of the most consistent goalies in the league over the past decade. Despite their loss last night, the Flyers have won nine of the last 13 meetings with Buffalo going back to February 2016. Take Philadelphia. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
01-19-21 | Central Michigan +15 v. Toledo | Top | 72-89 | Loss | -115 | 1 h 43 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Central Michigan Chippewas + the points over Toledo. The Rockets lost SU/ATS in their last game, as they fell 95-94 to Akron. And that ended an 8-game win streak (and 7-game ATS win streak). Toledo is a poor 1-8 ATS at home off a loss, while the Chips are 28-16 ATS their last 44 MAC Conference games. Central Michigan also falls into a 424-244 ATS system of mine. Take CMU + the points. Good luck...Al McMordie. |
01-18-21 | New Mexico +12 v. UNLV | Top | 46-53 | Win | 100 | 13 h 47 m | Show |
At 9:30 pm, our selection is on the New Mexico Lobos + the points over UNLV. We were 7-1 in basketball over the weekend. Our one losing selection was on these Lobos against this same UNLV team when they played on Saturday here, at Thomas & Mack Center. The Rebels blew out the Lobos by 23 in that game but, at the risk of being stubborn, we'll come right back with New Mexico today. Notwithstanding its SU/ATS win on Saturday, UNLV is still a wallet-breaking 2-11 ATS its last 13, and 39-71-3 ATS its last 113 at home vs. conference foes, if the Rebels were favored by more than 8 points. And if the Rebels were priced from -10 to -14.5 points vs. .500 (or worse) conference foes, then they've gone 2-19 ATS. Additionally, so far in 2021, NCAA road underdogs off exactly one loss, that lost earlier in the season to their opponent, and failed to cover in that previous defeat by more than 12 points, have gone 14-5 ATS, including 7-0 ATS when priced from +3 to +17 points. Finally, home favorites of 12+ points, off back to back wins, have covered just 59 of 167 vs. Mountain West foes. Take New Mexico. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-18-21 | Suns -3 v. Grizzlies | Top | 104-108 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 23 m | Show |
At 5:05 pm, our selection is on the Phoenix Suns minus the points over the Memphis Grizzlies. When the Suns last took the court seven days ago, they suffered an upset road loss at the hands of the Washington Wizards, 128-107. That lowered Phoenix's record to 7-4 this season (4-3 road; 3-1 home), an impressive mark which includes road wins at Utah, Denver and Indiana. Phoenix has had the last week off due to the coronavirus protocols, so they'll be very well-rested when they take on the Grizzlies. Memphis took advantage of a Joel Embiid-less 76ers squad on Saturday to win its fourth straight game, 106-104. But the Grizz are still just 2-5 SU and 2-4-1 ATS at home this season. We'll lay the points with Phoenix, as .625 (or better) road favorites have covered 59% since 1991 if they played with at least 3 more days of rest than their opponent. Even better: the Suns are 10-0 ATS their last 10, and 42-12 ATS their last 54 off an upset road defeat. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-17-21 | Pacers v. Clippers -6 | Top | 96-129 | Win | 100 | 16 h 45 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Clippers minus the points over Indiana. Both of these teams come into tonight's game on win streaks. Indiana has won and covered two straight, while the Clippers have won each of their last three games. But the key factor for our play tonight is that Indiana won its last two games as an underdog. And the Pacers are a horrid 0-19 ATS off back to back covers as an underdog, if they've owned a win percentage greater than .575, and also won their previous game straight-up. Meanwhile, the Clippers are 91-63 ATS when favored, including 15-2 ATS vs. foes off an upset road win. Take Los Angeles. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

01-17-21 | Bucs +3 v. Saints | Top | 30-20 | Win | 100 | 12 h 11 m | Show |
At 6:40 pm, our selection is on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers + the points over New Orleans. This is a big revenge game for Tom Brady & Co., as they were blown out, 38-3, at home in the previous meeting. We played on New Orleans in that game, but will take Tampa Bay this evening. For technical support, consider that revenge-minded teams that lost by 30+ points earlier in the season, have gone 6-0 ATS as single-digit underdogs. Even better: Tom Brady's a perfect 8-0 SU/ATS when playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season by 13+ points, and 11-1 SU/ATS his last 12 games vs. division rivals when playing with revenge (regardless of the margin of defeat). And, finally, NFC South division teams have gone 10-0 ATS since 2003 when playing with revenge from a 20-point (or worse) defeat earlier in the season. Take Tampa Bay + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

01-17-21 | Browns v. Chiefs -10 | Top | 17-22 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 39 m | Show |
At 3:05, our selection is on the Kansas City Chiefs minus the points over Cleveland. Last week, the Browns won their biggest game in decades when they went into Pittsburgh, and upset their rivals, 48-37, as a 5-point underdog. But off that huge win, we'll fade the Browns this afternoon. In general, I prefer to go against teams off big offensive playoff wins. And especially when such teams don't have great defenses to match their high-octane offenses. And Cleveland does not. The Browns are scoring 26.82 ppg this season, but also giving up the exact amount, on defense. In contrast, Kansas City only gives up 22.62 ppg. And to put the Browns' defense into context, consider that there have been just 6 NFL teams of 480 that made the playoffs over the last 41 seasons to have given up more than 26 points per game! We'll go against Cleveland, as NFL teams that scored more than 38 points in their previous game are 0-11 ATS on the road if they didn't have a better defense than their opponent. That doesn't bode well for Cleveland at Arrowhead this afternoon.  Nor does the fact that teams that covered the spread by more than 13 points the previous week have cashed just 16% in the Playoffs vs. defending Super Bowl champions. And, finally, Andy Reid-coached teams have gone 67% ATS, including 6-2, 75% ATS in the Playoffs, when they were off a bye week, which gave Reid an extra week to prepare. Take the Chiefs. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

01-17-21 | Knicks +8 v. Celtics | Top | 105-75 | Win | 100 | 7 h 48 m | Show |
At 1:05 pm, our selection is on the New York Knicks + the points over Boston. In this Atlantic Division match-up, we'll take Tom Thibodeau's Knicks as a road underdog. After winning 5 of 6 games -- both SU and ATS -- the Knicks have hit the skids, with five straight losses (also both SU and ATS). But in none of those five games were the Knicks installed as an underdog of 6+ points (as they are this afternoon). And New York is 4-1 ATS their last five when getting 6+ points. Moreover, the Knicks fall into one of my favorite NBA systems today. it's cashed 80.9% over the last 31 years, and what we want to do is play on .375 (or better) rested road teams in division games, if they're an underdog of +5 (or more) points, and off five SU/ATS losses. Take New York + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

01-16-21 | Ravens v. Bills OVER 50 | Top | 3-17 | Loss | -102 | 60 h 43 m | Show |
At 8:15 pm, our selection is on the OVER in the Buffalo/Baltimore game. Last week, the Ravens were favored by 3.5 points against Tennessee, and won a low-scoring game, 20-13. And that was the eighth straight Playoff game (and 10th of the last 11) where the Ravens went 'UNDER' the total as a favorite. But when the Ravens have been installed as an underdog (as they are, here), then it's been a completely different story, as they've gone OVER in those games 6-3-1. Likewise, the Bills have gone OVER 29-14-1 as a favorite (compared to 18-8 'under' as an underdog). We'll take the OVER on Saturday night, as each of these teams average more than 28 points per game on offense. And in match-ups between two teams that average 28+ points, NFL games have gone 'over' the total 61% of the time since 1985. Take the 'over.' Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

01-16-21 | Cleveland State v. Wright State -8 | Top | 49-85 | Win | 100 | 6 h 45 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Wright State Raiders minus the points over Cleveland State. These two teams met yesterday here, in Dayton, and the Raiders were upset by the Vikings, 66-64, as a 9.5-point favorite. We'll play on the Raiders to bounce back this evening, as they're 5-0 ATS at home when playing with revenge from an upset home loss, and they're 17-6 ATS off an upset loss when playing a foe off back to back wins. Finally, the Raiders fall into a 320-188 ATS system of mine which plays on certain home favorites off upset defeats. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

01-16-21 | New Mexico +11.5 v. UNLV | Top | 54-77 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 16 m | Show |
At 5:30 pm, our selection is on the New Mexico Lobos plus the points over UNLV. For years, the UNLV Rebels have been one of the worst-performing point spread teams at home. And that's much to the chagrin of their fans who have lost a lot of money betting on them at the local casinos. Today, the Rebels have been installed as a double-digit favorite, notwithstanding the fact they've yet to win a Mountain West Conference game. We'll take New Mexico + the points, as UNLV is a dismal 1-11 ATS their last 12, and 38-71-3 ATS their last 112 at home vs. conference foes, if the Rebels were favored by more than 8 points. And if the Rebels were priced from -10 to -14.5 points vs. .500 (or worse) conference foes, then they've gone 1-19 ATS. Take New Mexico plus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

01-16-21 | Rockets v. Spurs -7 | Top | 91-103 | Win | 100 | 4 h 56 m | Show |
At 5:05 pm, our selection is on the San Antonio Spurs minus the points over Houston. The Spurs blew a big 4th quarter lead vs. the Rockets on Thursday, and lost 109-105. After the game, coach Gregg Popovich questioned his players' effort. Certainly, his team heard his message, and will come out focused this evening. And San Antonio also generally does well in the regular season when playing with revenge, including 26-8 ATS their last 34 at home in this role (and 3-0 ATS vs. division rivals if the Spurs lost at home in the previous meeting). Take San Antonio to blow out Houston. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-16-21 | Washington +15 v. UCLA | Top | 76-81 | Win | 100 | 11 h 44 m | Show |
At 5 pm, our selection is on the Washington Huskies + the points over UCLA. The Bruins are undefeated in Pac-12 play with a 6-0 record (and 5-1 ATS), while Washington is bringing up the rear at 0-7 SU (and 1-6 ATS). We'll grab the points as NCAA teams have cashed 66.4% away from home , if they were off 4 SU/ATS losses, and were matched up against a .733 (or better) conference foe off at ATS win. Take Washington. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie |

01-16-21 | Rams v. Packers OVER 45.5 | Top | 18-32 | Win | 100 | 56 h 4 m | Show |
At 4:35 pm, our selection is on the 'over' in the Green Bay/Los Angeles Rams game, as it falls into a 52-24 Totals system of mine. This game has all the earmarks of a high-scoring game. The Packers are averaging 31.8 ppg, and will be playing at home following a Bye week last weekend. And high-octane NFL offenses that average more than 31 ppg have gone 'over' the total 23-11-1 since 1985 when playing at home in the Playoffs. Moreover, in his career, Aaron Rodgers has gone 'over' the total 32-14 when the Packers were favored from -4.5 to -7 points, including 14-2 'over' their last 16. And, with Rodgers at the helm, Green Bay has gone 'over' the total in 12 of 18 playoff games. Take the 'over.' Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

01-16-21 | UABÂ v. Charlotte +2.5 | Top | 55-70 | Win | 100 | 3 h 44 m | Show |
At 4 pm, our selection is on the Charlotte 49ers + the points over UAB. Yesterday, the Blazers were embarrassed at home, 61-37, by Alabama-Birmingham. And Charlotte was actually favored in that game by 2 points. The oddsmakers have made an adjustment for this afternoon's game, so Charlotte is now the home underdog. And we will happily take the points with the 49ers in the rematch, as home teams off 8-point upset home losses have cashed 62.2% over the last 31 years when playing with revenge against a foe off a SU/ATS win. Even better: the 49ers are 10-1 ATS their last 11 as a home underdog. And they're 6-0-2 ATS their last eight off an upset defeat. Take the 49ers + the points to bounce back this afternoon. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

01-16-21 | The Citadel v. VMI -4.5 | Top | 103-110 | Win | 100 | 7 h 45 m | Show |
At 1 pm, our selection is on the VMI Keydets minus the points over The Citadel. The Bulldogs are 7-1 SU and 5-0 ATS this season, while VMI is 5-6, but a more-than-respectable 6-3 ATS. We'll go against The Citadel this afternoon, as .875 (or better) underdogs of more than 4 points (at Game 9 forward) have cashed just 65 of 165 games away from home, if they were on a 3-game (or better) ATS win streak. Additionally, VMI is 21-10 ATS vs. .770 (or better) opponents. Lay the points. |
