03-25-23 | Connecticut v. Gonzaga +2.5 | Top | 82-54 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 8 m | Show |
At 8:45 pm, our selection is on the Gonzaga Bulldogs + the points over Connecticut. The Huskies come into this game off three straight blowout wins over Iona (87-63), St Mary's (70-55) and Arkansas (88-65). But off those three double-digit wins, we'll fade the Huskies in this Elite 8 Round. Indeed, favorites of 5 points or less, off three straight wins by 7+ points, have covered just 6 of 28 Elite 8 Round games since 1995. Additionally, the Huskies are a soft 15-23 ATS as a single-digit favorite off 3 SU/ATS wins. And Gonzaga is 75-47-7 ATS vs. foes with a win percentage greater than .750. Take the Bulldogs + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-25-23 | Nets v. Heat -5.5 | Top | 129-100 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 44 m | Show |
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat minus the points over Brooklyn. The Nets (39-34) and Heat (40-34) are in a tight battle for playoff seeding. But the Nets are on a 5-game losing streak, and that doesn't bode well for them tonight. Indeed, in the final 10 games of a season, in match-ups between winning teams with win percentages below .575, teams off back-to-back losses have covered just 16% over the past 25 seasons. Even better: the Heat are 9-0 ATS as a revenge-minded favorite of -1.5 (or more) points vs. winning foes. Take Miami minus the points. |
03-25-23 | Capitals v. Penguins -137 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 18 h 39 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Pittsburgh Penguins over the Washington Capitals. Although these two teams were in similar situations heading into the latter stages of February, they took different paths from there. The aging Capitals decided it was time to cut some bait and so they traded several veteran players for future draft picks, essentially throwing in the towel on the current season. The Penguins on the other hand -- also with a roster made up of mostly aging veterans -- decided they wanted to make one final run so they tried to improve themselves rather than trade for the future. They did so, but it appears not in a way that would make them a contender in the playoffs. Pittsburgh is clinging to a Wild Card spot by the thinnest of margins coming into tonight, with the Caps just four points behind. No matter that neither looks like a Cup finalist by a long shot, this series almost always produces exciting games, including a Washington 3-2 shootout win when these teams last met on Jan. 26. The Caps easily beat the lowly Blackhawks last time out, 6-1, but they are 0-9 off a win by more than 3 goals. And the revenge-minded team has gone 28-17 in this series. Take the Penguins. As always, good luck...Al McMordie |
03-24-23 | 76ers v. Warriors -4.5 | Top | 112-120 | Win | 100 | 4 h 36 m | Show |
At 10:10 pm, our selection is on the Golden State Warriors minus the points over Philadelphia. Golden State lost the first meeting of the season, 118-106. But that game was in Philly. Tonight's game is in San Francisco. And the Warriors have been terrific at home this season, as they're 29-7 SU and have covered their last eight in a row. We played on the 76ers two nights ago, and they rewarded us with a blowout win vs. the Chicago Bulls, 116-91. We'll go against the Sixers here, as the Warriors are 14-0 ATS their last 14 at home vs. foes off wins by 12+ points. And Philly is 15-34 ATS as a road underdog of more than 4 points vs. winning opposition. Finally, the home team is 40-23 ATS in this series, including 6-0 ATS the last six when playing with revenge from a loss suffered earlier in the year. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-24-23 | Miami-FL v. Houston -7.5 | Top | 89-75 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 51 m | Show |
At 7:15 pm, our selection is on the Houston Cougars minus the points over Miami-Florida. Jim Larranaga's men come into this game off back to back SU/ATS wins. Unfortunately, the Hurricanes are a horrid 9-20 ATS off back to back SU/ATS wins. Even worse for Miami: over the last 5 seasons, the ACC Conference has covered just eight of 27 games vs. the American Athletic Conference, including 0-4 ATS in the post-season! Finally, Houston is a reliable 34-12-1 ATS vs. foes off ATS wins in their 2 previous games, provided Houston wasn't off back to back ATS wins in its 2 previous games. Take the Cougars. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-24-23 | San Diego State v. Alabama -7.5 | Top | 71-64 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 5 m | Show |
At 6:30 pm, our selection is on the Alabama Crimson Tide minus the points over San Diego St. The San Diego State Aztecs won the Mountain West Conference this season. But the Mountain West has been a huge money-burner in the NCAA Tournament. Over the last 24 seasons, its teams have gone 24-58 straight-up, and 26-55-1 ATS, including 0-6 SU and 1-5 ATS in the Sweet 16 round! Similarly, San Diego State is 2-15 straight-up, and 5-11-1 ATS as in the NCAA/NIT Tournaments when not favored by more than 3 points. Meanwhile, the SEC Conference has gone 30-3 SU and 23-10 ATS when favored by 7 or more points against a .723 (or better) foe off an NCAA tourney win. Lay the points with Alabama. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-23-23 | Thunder v. Clippers -2.5 | Top | 105-127 | Win | 100 | 17 h 8 m | Show |
At 10:40 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Clippers minus the points over the Oklahoma City Thunder. This is the 2nd of back-to-back meetings between these teams. OKC won, 101-100, on Tuesday, as a 6.5-point road underdog. The price is shorter tonight, as Paul George will be sidelined for Los Angeles. We'll take the Clippers tonight, as home favorites have covered 62.2% vs. non-winning foes in the 2nd of back to back meetings between the teams, if our home favorite was upset at home in the first meeting. Additionally, the Clippers have covered the spread 70% since 1990 as a home favorite when playing with double revenge at home off a home loss. Lay the points with the Clippers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-23-23 | Penguins v. Stars -150 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 16 h 35 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Stars over the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Stars -- one of the hottest team in the league in the 2022 portion of the season -- have cooled off considerably in 2023. After going 23-15 combined during the months of October-December, the Stars then put up a record of 8-14 in the first two months of 2023. Thankfully for them, the Stars have turned that around a bit in March, going 7-4 in their first eleven games this month. Speaking of turnarounds, the Penguins were 0-4 in their last four games while being outscored 18-7 coming into what seemed like an almost impossible task last night in Denver against the defending NHL Champs. But Pittsburgh somehow came out of Colorado with a victory over the Avs before traveling south to Dallas for tonight's match-up. Now the Pens face another uphill battle as they try to stay relevant in the Eastern Conference where they are barely hanging on to a Wild Card spot. The Pens are 2-6 in the last eight meetings in Dallas while the home team is 20-8 in the last 28 meetings of these two. Take the Stars. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie |
03-23-23 | Arkansas +4.5 v. Connecticut | Top | 65-88 | Loss | -115 | 14 h 42 m | Show |
At 7:15 pm, our selection is on the Arkansas Razorbacks + the points against Connecticut. Arkansas upset the #1-seeded Kansas Jayhawks, 72-71, on Saturday, while 4th-seeded UConn blew out 5th-seeded St. Mary's, 70-55, on Sunday, as a 4-point favorite. We'll grab the points with #8-seeded Arkansas, as it's 18-6 ATS as an underdog of 2+ points off a SU win. And it's 20-9 ATS in non-conference games when not favored by 9+ points (including 11-4 ATS as an underdog). Meanwhile, NCAA Tourney teams (like UConn) seeded #7 (or better), off an NCAA Tourney win, in which they covered the spread by more than 10 points, have gone 0-10 ATS vs. foes seeded #8 (or worse). Take Arkansas. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-22-23 | Utah Valley v. Cincinnati +1 | Top | 74-68 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 1 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Cincinnati Bearcats over Utah Valley St. The Wolverines will play host to the Cincinnati Bearcats tonight, and have been installed as a small favorite. The Wolves have only covered 33% at home when not favored by 2+ points, and are also 1-6 ATS at home in non-conference games when not getting more than 5 points. Take Cincy. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-22-23 | 76ers -3.5 v. Bulls | Top | 116-91 | Win | 100 | 9 h 8 m | Show |
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the Philadelphia 76ers minus the points over Chicago. This is the 2nd of back to back games between these teams. Chicago won Round 1, 109-105. We'll take the Sixers in the rematch, and note that they're 28-11 ATS their last 39 when not favored by 5+ points. And Philly's 26-8 ATS in the regular season when playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-22-23 | UABÂ v. Vanderbilt | Top | 67-59 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 2 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Vanderbilt Commodores over the UAB Blazers. The Blazers are on the road tonight in Nashville to take on Vandy, and the game has been installed as a 'Pk'em' (or near 'Pk'em' at the sportsbooks). UAB has been miserable on the road when not getting more than 1 point, as it's gone 20-39 ATS, including 12-37-1 ATS when its opponent wasn't off a win by more than 10 points. That doesn't bode well for UAB tonight. Nor does the fact that Vandy is 45-22-4 ATS when not favored by 8+ points. Take the Commodores. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-21-23 | Thunder v. Clippers -6.5 | Top | 101-100 | Loss | -107 | 15 h 11 m | Show |
At 10:40 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Clippers minus the points over Oklahoma City. The Clippers have excelled at home (36-18 ATS) when the game has been projected to be high-scoring, with Over/Under lines north of 220 points. But they've been horrible at home (18-34 ATS) in games with O/U lines at 220 or below. The Over/Under line in this game has been installed at 236, so that bodes well for the home team. As does the fact that the Clippers are 16-9 ATS vs. OKC when playing with revenge. Lay the points with the Clippers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-21-23 | Wisconsin +5 v. Oregon | Top | 61-58 | Win | 100 | 13 h 29 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Wisconsin Badgers + the points over Oregon. The Ducks won back to back home games to kick off this tournament, as did the Badgers. Today, Wisconsin will take to the road for the first time, and has been installed as an underdog. That bodes well for Wisky, as it's 52-26-3 ATS in non-conference games when it's been the underdog, including 14-5-2 ATS in the post-season. Grab the points with the Badgers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-21-23 | Spurs v. Pelicans -11 | Top | 84-119 | Win | 100 | 13 h 40 m | Show |
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the New Orleans Pelicans minus the points over the San Antonio Spurs. Gregg Popovich's men roared back from a 24-point deficit to down Atlanta, 126-118. But off that win, we'll fade the Silver and Black tonight, as they're 1-10 SU and 2-9 ATS off a SU home win as an underdog of 4+ points. Additionally, the Spurs are 5-16 ATS at New Orleans if the Spurs were off a SU home win. Take the Pelicans minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-21-23 | Coyotes v. Jets -255 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 13 h 39 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Winnipeg Jets over the Arizona Coyotes. The Coyotes come into this game off a 4-2 home win over the Chicago Blackhawks. And they defeated Vancouver, 3-2, in the game prior to that. Unfortunately for the Coyotes, they're 29-71 after back to back games in which they allowed 2 goals or less. Take Winnipeg. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-21-23 | Eastern Kentucky v. Southern Utah -3 | Top | 108-106 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 29 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Southern Utah Thunderbirds minus the points over Eastern Kentucky. The Colonels won, 89-88, in overtime vs. Indiana State, yesterday. Off that high-scoring win, we'll fade the Colonels today. Indeed, teams off games in which they scored 85+ points have gone 8-24 ATS in the CBI Tournament against foes that scored less then 85 in their previous game. Lay the points with the Thunderbirds. |
03-21-23 | North Texas v. Oklahoma State -4 | Top | 65-59 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 29 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Oklahoma State Cowboys minus the points over the North Texas Mean Green. The Cowboys are 32-19-1 ATS as a home favorite vs. non-conference foes, if Okie State was priced between -3 and -12.5 points, while North Texas is 17-24 ATS as a road underdog in non-conference games when priced from +3 to +12.5 points. Take Oklahoma State. |
03-20-23 | Warriors -9.5 v. Rockets | Top | 121-108 | Win | 100 | 11 h 2 m | Show |
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the Golden State Warriors minus the points over Houston. The Warriors' road losing streak is now 11 straight following their 133-119 loss at Memphis, on Saturday. The good news for Golden State tonight is that it will be playing an opponent with the 2nd worst NBA record on the season. The 18-53 Rockets are also 28-41-2 ATS, including 4-13 ATS vs. foes off back to back losses. Golden State has won 9 straight in this series (6-2-1 ATS). This season, the Warriors are 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS with the average win by 13.67 points. And since 2001, the Warriors' average victory in their nine games vs. Houston has been by 14 points. I expect more of the same, here. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-20-23 | Radford +6.5 v. San Jose State | Top | 67-57 | Win | 100 | 8 h 36 m | Show |
At 5 pm, our selection is on the Radford Highlanders + the points over San Jose State. The Spartans blew out Southern Indiana, 77-52, on Saturday. We'll fade the Spartans off that big win, as they're 0-7 ATS their last seven (and 2-11 ATS their last 13) off a 25-point win. And Radford is 7-0 ATS its last 7 as an underdog of +4 (or more) points. Take the Highlanders. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-20-23 | Eastern Kentucky v. Indiana State -6 | Top | 89-88 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 50 m | Show |
At 12 Noon, in the CBI Tournament, our selection is on the Indiana State Sycamores minus the points over Eastern Kentucky. We played against the Sycamores as a double-digit favorite on Saturday, and got the $$$ with South Carolina Upstate. The tariff is lower today, and we'll lay the smaller number vs. the Colonels. Eastern Kentucky won yesterday, 91-75, vs. Cleveland State. Unfortunately, the Colonels are 10-30 ATS off a 14-point SU/ATS win, if they were not getting 10+ points. Take Indiana State. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-19-23 | Utah Valley v. Colorado -4 | Top | 81-69 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 45 m | Show |
At 9:30 pm, our selection is on the Colorado Buffaloes minus the points over Utah Valley St. This is the Buffaloes' second straight home game, while the Wolverines are playing their second straight road game following their 83-69 upset at New Mexico. Colorado is 67% ATS at home when playing the 2nd of back to back home games against a foe playing the second of back to back road games. And teams (like Utah Valley) off upset wins in the opening round of the NIT Tourney have covered just 38.3% vs. foes not off an upset NIT Tourney win. Lay the points with the Buffaloes. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-19-23 | Michigan State +3 v. Marquette | Top | 69-60 | Win | 100 | 8 h 26 m | Show |
At 5:15 pm, our selection is on the Michigan State Spartans + the points over Marquette. The Spartans blew out Southern Cal, 72-62, as a 2.5-point favorite, and have been installed as a small underdog vs. the Big East Champion Golden Eagles, who crushed Vermont, 78-61. We'll grab the points with the Spartans, as Tom Izzo's men have gone 24-10 ATS in the NCAA Tournament in competitively-priced games with point spreads less than 5 points, including 11-1 ATS off an 8-point (or greater) win, and 5-0 ATS in the Tourney's 2nd round. Even better: teams (like Marquette) riding 10-game (or longer) win streaks, have covered just 36.1% in the NCAA Tourney's 2nd Round off a double-digit SU/ATS win in Round 1. Take Michigan State + the points. |
03-19-23 | Suns v. Thunder -1 | Top | 120-124 | Win | 100 | 7 h 54 m | Show |
At 3:40 pm, our selection is on the Oklahoma City Thunder minus the points over Phoenix. The Thunder are in 9th place in the tightly bunched Western Conference, but are just 2 games behind Phoenix, which sits in 4th place. So, if OKC can get hot down the stretch, it can surely reach that all-important #4 seed. Today's game is critical for that objective. These teams met earlier this season, and the Suns blew out OKC by 31 points. We'll take the Thunder in the rematch, as favorites have covered 56% when playing with revenge from a 30-point (or worse) defeat. Additionally, OKC is 62-42 ATS as a revenge-minded home favorite. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-19-23 | Eastern Washington v. Oklahoma State -11 | Top | 60-71 | Push | 0 | 5 h 15 m | Show |
At 2 pm, in the NIT Tournament, our selection is on the Oklahoma St Cowboys minus the points over Eastern Washington. The Cowboys have covered 60.3% since 1990 in non-conference home games when favored by 12 or less points, while the Eagles are 26-37 ATS as a road underdog in non-conference games. Lay the points. |
03-19-23 | Rice v. Duquesne -5 | Top | 84-78 | Loss | -110 | 127 h 27 m | Show |
At 1:30 pm, on Sunday, our selection is on the Duquesne Dukes minus the points over Rice. The Dukes come into this CBI Tournament game off back to back blowout losses to La Salle (81-70) and Fordham (87-60). But we'll lay the points with Duquesne on Sunday, as .600 (or better) Atlantic 10 Conference teams have gone 11-0 ATS in the tourneys against non-conference foes not off back to back losses. And Conference USA underdogs, priced from +3.5 to +7 points, have been a wallet-busting 15-39 ATS in the post-season vs. non-conference foes. Take Duquesne minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-19-23 | Pittsburgh v. Xavier -5 | Top | 73-84 | Win | 100 | 3 h 26 m | Show |
At 12:10 pm, our selection is on the Xavier Musketeers minus the points over Pittsburgh. The Panthers upset the Cyclones, 59-41, on Friday, which was their second straight upset win in this Tournament (they also upset Mississippi St in the 'play-in' round). Unfortunately for Jeff Capel's men, NCAA teams seeded #6 or worse, have cashed just 35% since 1990 off a win by 15+ points, if they were an underdog of 6 or less points in their current game. And teams off back to back upset wins in the NCAA tourney have covered just 31% since 1990 vs. foes off a point spread loss. Lay the points with the Musketeers. |
03-18-23 | Northwestern v. UCLA UNDER 126.5 | Top | 63-68 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 55 m | Show |
At 8:40 pm, our selection is on the UNDER in the UCLA/Northwestern game. The Bruins put up 86 points in their first game in this tournament, while Northwestern tallied 75. The knee-jerk reaction might be to look for another high-scoring game, here (or at least one which topped this relatively-low total). But I think we're in for a much lower-scoring game than each of these teams played on Friday. Looking back at Northwestern's season, we see that it played 9 of 10 games under the total to end its regular season, before going over the total in its two post-season games (vs. Penn St and Boise St). But the Wildcats have gone UNDER the total 61.1% off back-to-back overs. And the Under also falls into two totals systems of mine that are 60.5% and 62.7% since 2016. Take the UNDER. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-18-23 | Heat -3.5 v. Bulls | Top | 99-113 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 13 m | Show |
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat minus the points over Chicago. The Heat will be the beneficiaries of a favorable schedule tonight, as it will be Miami's 3rd game in 7 days, but Chicago's 3rd game in 4 days. Even worse for Chicago: Miami had the last two nights off, while the Bulls played last night, and had to go into double-overtime in their 139-131 victory over the Timberwolves. All of this is reason enough to fade the Bulls. But we also get the added benefit of the Heat playing with revenge from not 1, but 2 home losses. Lay the points with the Heat. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-18-23 | Penn State +5.5 v. Texas | Top | 66-71 | Win | 100 | 11 h 56 m | Show |
At 7:45 pm, our selection is on the Penn State Nittany Lions + the points over Texas. There were a lot of impressive performances in the opening round. But most were not as impressive as the Nittany Lions' upset blowout win over a very good Texas A&M squad. Penn State was a 2.5-point underdog, but destroyed the Aggies, 76-59. The Nittany Lions held A&M to just 33.9% FG shooting. And that was PSU's 6th straight cover. Even more astounding: the Nittany Lions are now 15-0-2 ATS their last 17 neutral court games (and 31-7-4 ATS their last 42). Take the Nittany Lions + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-18-23 | Auburn v. Houston -5 | Top | 64-81 | Win | 100 | 10 h 20 m | Show |
At 7:10 pm, our selection is on the Houston Cougars minus the points over Auburn. The Coogs come into this game vs. Auburn off back to back ATS losses. But the good news is that Houston is 10-0 ATS off back to back point spread defeats, when priced from -5 to -20. Lay the points with the #1-seeded Cougars. |
03-18-23 | Princeton v. Missouri -6 | Top | 78-63 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 19 m | Show |
At 6:10 pm, our selection is on the Missouri Tigers minus the points over the Princeton Tigers. Princeton had a huge win on Thursday when it eliminated the #2-seeded Arizona Wildcats, 59-55. Unfortunately, underdogs of +7 or less points have gone 0-9 ATS following a upset tourney win as a double-digit dog. Take Missouri. |
03-18-23 | Hurricanes -210 v. Flyers | Top | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 9 m | Show |
At 5:05 pm, our selection is on the Carolina Hurricanes over the Philadelphia Flyers. After a four-game stretch of games that included the Maple Leafs, Jets, Devils, and Golden Knights, the Carolina Hurricanes will welcome a step-down in class tonight in the form of the Flyers. A lot has changed with Philadelphia's hockey club since the last meeting of these two less than 10 days ago. Shortly after brutally honest coach John Tortorella declared that the Flyers wouldn't be a contender for quite some time, the team released General Manager Chuck Fletcher. There's no question this team is a mess right now, but how exactly they emerge from their current state is unknown. With Carter Hart going in goal last night here against the Sabres, the Flyers likely will use back-up Felix Sandstrom tonight. The 26-year-old Swede is just 1-10-1 with a 3.37 GAA in 13 games this season. Heading into last night the Flyers were just 1-8 in their last nine overall. The Hurricanes are 6-0 in the last six meetings and 5-2 in the last seven here at Wells Fargo Center. Take Carolina. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
03-18-23 | Duke v. Tennessee +4 | Top | 52-65 | Win | 100 | 6 h 4 m | Show |
At 2:40 pm, our selection is on the Tennessee Volunteers + the points over Duke. The Blue Devils have won their last 2 games by double-digits, including a 23-point blowout of Oral Roberts on Thursday. Unfortunately, the Dukies are an awful 1-11 ATS off back to back double-digit wins. And Tennessee is 33-19 ATS as an underdog in non-conference games. Take the Volunteers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-18-23 | Hofstra v. Cincinnati -1.5 | Top | 65-79 | Win | 100 | 5 h 12 m | Show |
At 2 pm, in the NIT Tournament, our selection is on the Cincinnati Bearcats minus the points over Hofstra. The Bearcats are 13-2 ATS their last 15 as a home favorite, and we'll lay the small number on this Saturday afternoon, as they fall into a Tourney system of mine which is 94-45 ATS. Take the Bearcats. |
03-18-23 | Michigan v. Vanderbilt -1 | Top | 65-66 | Push | 0 | 3 h 12 m | Show |
At 12 Noon, in the NIT Tournament, our selection is on the Vanderbilt Commodores minus the points over Michigan. We played on both of these teams in their opening round games, and cashed with Michigan over Toledo, and Vanderbilt over Yale. The Commodores are on a red-hot 11-2 SU/ATS run, and I won't step in front of them here, at home. Moreover, the Wolverines had their 2nd best shooting game of the season vs. Toledo, as they converted 58.2% of their attempts. But Michigan is 1-8 ATS following a 55% (or better) shooting performance. Take Vanderbilt. |

03-18-23 | USC Upstate +10 v. Indiana State | Top | 62-67 | Win | 100 | 101 h 56 m | Show |
At 11 am, on Saturday, our selection is on the South Carolina Upstate Spartans + the points over Indiana St. This CBI Tournament game will be played at a neutral site, in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Sycamores have been installed as a big favorite. But they're an ugly 13-25 ATS in non-conference games when favored by more than 7 points. Meanwhile, USC Upstate is 40-21 ATS its last 61 when not favored by more than 1 point. Finally, the Big South Conference has been extremely strong in the minor post-season tournaments, as its teams have gone 17-6 ATS, while the Missouri Valley Conference is 22-31 ATS its last 53 minor tournament games. Grab the points with the Spartans. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-17-23 | Kent State v. Indiana -4.5 | Top | 60-71 | Win | 100 | 22 h 2 m | Show |
At 9:55 pm, our selection is on the Indiana Hoosiers minus the points over Kent St. The Golden Flashes won the Mid-American Conference with a 93-78 win over Toledo. Toledo then went to play Michigan in the NIT Tournament, and we had our NIT Game of the Year on Michigan, which won 90-80. Here, we have another MAC Conference vs. Big 10 Conference match-up. As I highlighted three days ago in our Michigan/Toledo write-up, the MAC has not performed well vs. the Big 10, as it's 114-148 ATS, including 0-8 ATS its last eight (and 20-41 ATS its last 61) when priced from -2 to +8 points. Indiana, in particular, has done great against MAC teams, with a 26-1 SU and 19-8 ATS record. Kent St, meanwhile, is 3-11 SU and 4-10 ATS vs. Big 10 foes. Finally, one of my favorite systems, which is 59-25 ATS applies to Indiana, while a negative 113-224 ATS system goes against Kent St. We'll lay the points with the Hoosiers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-17-23 | Montana State v. Kansas State -7.5 | Top | 65-77 | Win | 100 | 31 h 26 m | Show |
At 9:40 pm, our selection is on the Kansas State Wildcats minus the points over Montana St. The Wildcats lost their last two games to end their season. But they were underdogs in each game. K-State is favored by a healthy margin tonight, and it's 14-4 ATS as a favorite this season, including 7-0 ATS its last seven. Even better: off back to back ATS losses, the Wildcats are 8-1 ATS their last nine. Meanwhile, the Bobcats are a poor 2-9 ATS as a dog of 2+ points off back to back conference wins. And they're 13-27 ATS off back to back wins when matched up against a foe off back to back losses. Lay the points with Kansas State. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-17-23 | Florida Atlantic v. Memphis -1.5 | Top | 66-65 | Loss | -110 | 31 h 13 m | Show |
At 9:20 pm, our selection is on the Memphis Tigers minus the points over Florida Atlantic. The Tigers smashed #1-ranked Houston in the AAC Tourney, 75-65, as a 5.5-point dog. They'll now take on a 31-3 Owls squad which ran roughshod through a comparatively-week Conference USA. We'll take Memphis, as the Tigers are 54-17-5 ATS vs. .555 (or better) Conference USA foes when not favored by more than 5 points. And the Tigers are also 40-17-2 ATS off an upset win, including 9-0-1 ATS when not favored by more the 5 points. Take the Tigers. |
03-17-23 | Grand Canyon v. Gonzaga UNDER 156 | Top | 70-82 | Win | 100 | 16 h 53 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the UNDER in the Grand Canyon/Gonzaga game. After playing eight straight "OVERS" to end its regular season, the Bulldogs went UNDER the total in their two West Coast Conference tournament games. And they've also gone UNDER in 10 of 13 NCAA Tournament games when the OU line was greater than 148. We'll look for a relatively low-scoring game tonight, as the UNDER falls into 32-11 and 66-44 Totals systems of mine. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-17-23 | Hurricanes v. Maple Leafs -118 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 14 h 21 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Maple Leafs over the Carolina Hurricanes. After being shut out in back-to-back games, the 'Canes bounced back on Tuesday, beating the Jets, 5-3. That's a huge win for them as they try to stay one step ahead of the red-hot Devils. What would also be huge would be a win tonight in Toronto but it's likely going to be harder than what they did on Tuesday. The 'Canes are once again without oft-injured goalie Antti Raanta, who has landed on the IL due to a lower body ailment. Raanta has been outstanding this season when healthy but he's missed the last four games with this injury and likely will not suit up again tonight. Toronto got a point in a tough shootout loss to Colorado on Wednesday, 2-1. Not bad considering they were only able to register 18 shots on goal. They can't catch the Bruins but the Leafs still want to finish strong and stay in second place in the Division. Toronto is 16-7 in its last 23 vs. teams with a winning % above .600 and 6-1 in its last seven after scoring two goals or less in the previous game. Take the Maple Leafs. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
03-17-23 | NC State +5.5 v. Creighton | Top | 63-72 | Loss | -110 | 25 h 27 m | Show |
At 4 pm, our selection is on the NC State Wolfpack + the points over Creighton. The Wolfpack were blown out by Clemson, 80-54, in the ACC Tourney. Off that loss, we'll back The Pack, as NC State is 7-1-1 ATS off a loss this season. And .720 (or worse) ACC Conference teams are 95-53 ATS as underdogs off a 25-point loss, when playing a winning foe. Take the Wolfpack. |
03-17-23 | VCU v. St. Mary's -4 | Top | 51-63 | Win | 100 | 31 h 22 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the St. Mary's Gaels minus the points over VCU. The Gaels lost, 77-51, to their nemesis, Gonzaga, in last week's West Coast Conference title game. But off that loss, we'll take Randy Bennett's men to bounce back in a big way on Friday afternoon. The Gaels are an awesome 12-1 ATS off a loss the past two seasons. And, dating back 15 seasons, St Mary's is 44-20 ATS in non-conference games off a point spread defeat. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-17-23 | UC-Santa Barbara v. Baylor -10.5 | Top | 56-74 | Win | 100 | 31 h 51 m | Show |
At 1:30 pm, our selection is on the Baylor Bears minus the points over Cal-Santa Barbara. The Bears lost back-to-back games to Iowa State to end its Big 12 Conference season. The good news for the Bears is that they're 51-18 ATS off back to back losses when facing a .555 (or better) opponent. Additionally, Big 12 Conference teams have cashed 64% in the NCAA Tournament off back to back SU/ATS losses. Finally, Big West Conference underdogs of more than 4 points are a soft 16-31 ATS in the post-season vs. foes off a SU/ATS loss. Take Baylor. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-17-23 | Kennesaw State v. Xavier -12.5 | Top | 67-72 | Loss | -105 | 30 h 3 m | Show |
At 12:40 pm, on Friday, our selection is on the Xavier Musketeers minus the points over Kennesaw St. The Owls were seeded #1 in the Atlantic Sun Tournament, and defeated Queens U., Lipscomb, and Liberty en route to the conference championship. But all three games were played in Kennesaw's home arena. And its home court advantage was a big reason why it won its tournament, as it won two of those three games by a single point, each. I am not a fan of playing on such teams -- that win their conference tournament on their home court -- here in the NCAA Tournament. It's a different story altogether when you're playing on a neutral court. The Musketeers have excelled in post-season, neutral court games vs. non-conference foes, as they're 31-14-4 ATS. Lay the points with Xavier. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-16-23 | Penn State v. Texas A&M -2.5 | Top | 76-59 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 40 m | Show |
At 9:55 pm, our selection is on the Texas A&M Aggies minus the points over Penn State. Penn State was 4-0 ATS in the Big 10 Tournament, but fell to Purdue in the title game, 67-65, as a 7.5-point underdog. Meanwhile, the Aggies were blown out by the SEC's #1 team, Alabama, 82-63, on Sunday. But off that loss, we'll take Texas A&M to bounce back tonight. The Aggies are 61-34 ATS away from home off a loss, including 27-7 ATS as a favorite. And .625 (or better) Big 10 Underdogs, on a 4-game (or better) ATS win streak, have gone 11-28 ATS in non-conference games. Take Texas A&M. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-16-23 | UL - Lafayette v. Tennessee -11 | Top | 55-58 | Loss | -105 | 15 h 58 m | Show |
At 9:40 pm, our selection is on the Tennessee Volunteers minus the points over Louisiana-Lafayette. The Rajin' Cajuns 17-9-2 ATS their last 27 as a favorite, but are 1-8 ATS their last nine as an underdog, including 0-6 ATS their last six. That doesn't inspire confidence in them tonight against a Tennessee team looking to bounce back from an upset loss to Missouri. The Vols are 20-10 ATS off an away upset loss, and 36-18 ATS in non-conference games off an 8-point (or worse) defeat. Meanwhile, the Sun Belt Conference has been horrible vs. the SEC Conference when playing at home, or on neutral courts, as the Sun Belt teams have gone 17-40-3 ATS. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-16-23 | Kings v. Nets -2 | Top | 101-96 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 11 m | Show |
At 7:40 pm, our selection is on the Brooklyn Nets minus the points over the Sacramento Kings. Brooklyn was blown out, 153-121, when these two teams met earlier this season, in California. And that was the 2nd most points the Nets have given up in a game over the past 33 seasons. We'll take Brooklyn to avenge that loss, as NBA teams have gone 19-6 ATS when playing with revenge from a loss in which they surrendered 150+ points, including a perfect 6-0 ATS as a favorite. Take Brooklyn. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-16-23 | Lightning v. Devils -124 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -124 | 13 h 39 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the New Jersey Devils over the Tampa Bay Lightning. This will be the 2nd of back-to-back meetings between these Eastern Conference foes. And, then, they'll meet again for the 3rd time, in Tampa, on Sunday. The Lightning won Round 1, 4-1, notwithstanding the fact that captain Steven Stamkos was sidelined. He'll be back on the ice tonight, but we will go against Tampa. The Devils are 14-7 off a loss, and they're 7-1 when playing with revenge from a home defeat by 3+ goals. Take the Devils on Thursday. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-16-23 | Texas A&M Corpus Christi +24.5 v. Alabama | Top | 75-96 | Win | 100 | 3 h 3 m | Show |
At 2:45 pm, our selection is on the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders + the points over Alabama. The Crimson Tide come into this game off an 82-63 win in the SEC Conference Championship game. But off that blowout win, we'll fade Nate Oats men this afternoon. Indeed, Alabama is an awful 13-49-1 ATS when favored by more than 10 points after scoring 75+ points in winning its previous game. Take Corpus Christi. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-16-23 | Howard v. Kansas -21.5 | Top | 68-96 | Win | 100 | 7 h 30 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the Kansas Jayhawks minus the points over Howard. Kansas will look to rebound off its 76-56 loss to Texas in the Big 12 Tourney. The Jayhawks tend to get off to a good start in this tournament, as they're 19-11 ATS in the opening round, including 16-6 when not favored by 23.5 (or more) points. And they also do well off blowout losses, as they're 27-3-1 ATS following a defeat by 12+ points. Take the Jayhawks. |
03-16-23 | Utah State -1 v. Missouri | Top | 65-76 | Loss | -115 | 7 h 9 m | Show |
At 1:40 pm, our selection is on the Utah State Aggies minus the points over Missouri. The Tigers have been installed as a small underdog this afternoon. Unfortuately, Missouri is an awful 37-75 ATS as an underdog (or PK) away from home, if its W/L percentage was between .500 and .875. That doesn't bode well for Missouri, here. Nor does the fact that Utah State is 47-23 ATS as a favorite, including 7-0 ATS its last seven. Lay the points. |
03-16-23 | Furman v. Virginia UNDER 132 | Top | 68-67 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 11 m | Show |
At 12:40 pm, our selection is on the UNDER in the Virginia/Furman game. Something's gotta give this afternoon, as the Paladins prefer an up-tempo game, and average 82 ppg, while Virginia likes things slower-paced, and gives up just 60.2 ppg. I expect the Cavaliers to exert their will, as they've gone UNDER the total 35-18 when facing a team which scores 80.75 ppg. And they've also gone UNDER 42-24 when their opponent's games averaged 148+ points. Meanwhile, the Paladins have gone 12-2 UNDER when playing a team which gives up less than 67 ppg. Take the UNDER. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-15-23 | Cal-Irvine v. Oregon -7 | Top | 58-84 | Win | 100 | 19 h 54 m | Show |
At 11 pm, our selection is on the Oregon Ducks minus the points over Cal Irvine. This will be the 2nd meeting between these two teams this season. In Round 1, Irvine came into Eugene and stunned the Ducks, 69-56, as a 15.5-point road underdog. The point spread is significantly lower tonight, and we'll lay the points with the homestanding Ducks as they're 8-0-1 ATS when playing with revenge in the post-season, when priced from +1 to -11 points. Take the Ducks. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-15-23 | Santa Clara v. Sam Houston State UNDER 143.5 | Top | 56-58 | Win | 100 | 17 h 50 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the UNDER in the Sam Houston St/Santa Clara game. The Bearkats come into tonight's game off a 78-75 loss to Grand Canyon, which went over the total by 26.5 points. But prior to that high-scoring game, the Bearkats went UNDER in seven straight. Tonight, they've been installed as a home underdog for the first time all season. But they were home dogs 6 times in the previous two seasons, and went under in each of those 6 games. Take the UNDER. |
03-15-23 | Celtics -4.5 v. Wolves | Top | 104-102 | Loss | -115 | 16 h 2 m | Show |
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the Boston Celtics minus the points over Minnesota. The Celts lost to the woeful Houston Rockets, 111-109, on Monday. Off that embarrassing defeat, we'll take Boston to bounce back tonight, as it's 11-4 ATS on the road off exactly 1 loss. And Minnesota is a wallet-busting 17-47 ATS as a home dog of more than 4 points vs. a foe off an upset loss. Take Boston. |
03-15-23 | Lakers v. Rockets +2.5 | Top | 110-114 | Win | 100 | 16 h 2 m | Show |
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the Houston Rockets over the Los Angeles Lakers. Neither LeBron James nor Anthony Davis will play tonight vs. the Rockets. We'll go against the Lakers, who are 42-66-1 ATS as a road favorite when not playing with revenge. Grab the points with Houston. |
03-15-23 | 76ers v. Cavs +2.5 | Top | 118-109 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 31 m | Show |
At 7:40 pm, our selection is on the Cleveland Cavaliers + the points over Philadelphia. The Cavs won last night, notwithstanding the absence of G Donovan Mitchell. But he'll play tonight, which is all we need to pull the trigger on the homestanding Cavaliers. The Sixers are 0-16-1 ATS off back to back wins, when installed as a road favorite vs. a foe off a SU win. Take the Cavaliers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-15-23 | Avalanche v. Maple Leafs -140 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -140 | 15 h 0 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Maple Leafs over the Colorado Avalanche. The Avalanche flexed their offensive muscle once again on Monday night, steamrolling the hapless Canadiens, 8-4. But Colorado just can't seem to wipe the injury bug off its windshield and Monday's victory may prove to be a costly one. That's because star winger Artturi Lehkonen suffered a broken finger -- an injury requiring surgery and which will keep him out of action 4-6 weeks. The 27-year-old Finn was doing a great job of helping fill the void left by another star winger, Gabriel Landeskog, who has been out all season after arthroscopic knee surgery. Lehkonen's breakout regular season -- he is the fourth-leading scorer on the team -- will now come to an end as he hopes to get back for the playoffs. The Avs certainly don't get a break in their first game without him, having to face a very talented Leafs team on the road. Toronto is 7-3 in its last 10 and 16-6 in its last 22 vs. teams from the West. Colorado is 0-4 in its last four games vs. teams with a winning record. Take the Maple Leafs. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
03-15-23 | UCF v. Florida -2 | Top | 67-49 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 50 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Florida Gators minus the points over Central Florida. The Gators lost, 69-68, to Mississippi St. last Thursday. But they covered the 5-point spread, which was their 3rd straight ATS win. We'll lay the points with Florida, as it's 44-27-1 ATS as a favorite in the post-season, and 8-1 ATS its last nine as a favorite vs. foes off a SU loss. Meanwhile, the Knights are a poor 13-25-2 ATS as a post-season underdog. Take Florida. |
03-14-23 | Yale v. Vanderbilt -3 | Top | 62-71 | Win | 100 | 15 h 54 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Vanderbilt Commodores minus the points over Yale. On the heels of a dreadful first half, in which it was outscored 49-25, the Commodores lost to a very good Texas A&M team in the SEC Tournament. But they had won 10 of 11 games prior to that defeat (9-2 ATS). And they made a nice showing in the 2nd half, where they outscored the Aggies, 50-38. We'll take Vandy to bounce back tonight, as it's 32-19 ATS off a loss, and 9-2 ATS its last 11 post-season games. And it's a sensational 44-21-4 ATS when not laying 8+ points. Take the Commodores. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-14-23 | Nuggets +1.5 v. Raptors | Top | 110-125 | Loss | -120 | 4 h 59 m | Show |
At 7:40 pm, our selection is on the Denver Nuggets over the Toronto Raptors. The Nuggets enter tonight on a 3-game SU/ATS losing streak. But Mike Malone's men are 31-12-2 ATS off 3 ATS losses when playing a .400 (or better) opponent, including 9-1-1 ATS on the Eastern Conference road. Take the Nuggets. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-14-23 | Pistons v. Wizards -13 | Top | 97-117 | Win | 100 | 3 h 30 m | Show |
At 7:10 pm, our selection is on the Washington Wizards minus the points over the Detroit Pistons. Last night, the Pistons snapped their 11-game losing streak with a 117-97 blowout win over the Indiana Pacers. Unfortunately, Isaiah Livers sustained a hip injury, and will be in street clothes with several other Pistons, including Jaden Ivey, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Alec Burks. Meanwhile, Cory Joseph - who led the way last night with 22 points in 32 minutes - is 'questionable' to play. Likewise, the Wizards will be without Kyle Kuzma, but their depth is significantly better than Detroit's. The Pistons are an awful 10-34-3 ATS off a win by more than 7 points. Take Washington. |
03-14-23 | Capitals v. Rangers -165 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 13 h 2 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the New York Rangers over the Washington Capitals. The Rangers have 16 games in which to make up the 10 points that they are behind both the Hurricanes and Devils in the Metropolitan Division. And while that may not be likely, New York's re-tooled roster may turn out to be the team that nobody wants to face come playoff time. The Rangers got the most coveted prize at the recent trade deadline when they landed star veteran winger Patrick Kane from the Blackhawks. They've been playing very well since acquiring the 34-year-old and tonight they have a chance to avenge a tough loss -- a 6-3 defeat in DC on February 25. It was quite a different Caps team then however, as Washington decided to clean house and let some veterans go at the deadline, including Lars Eller, Dmitry Orlov, and Garnett Hathaway. The Caps cleared valuable cap space and picked up plenty of future draft picks, but the current roster has taken a hit and a return to the playoffs is unlikely. The favorite is 44-18 in the last 62 meetings of these two. Take the Rangers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-14-23 | Jets v. Hurricanes -183 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 13 h 2 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Carolina Hurricanes over the Winnipeg Jets. The Hurricanes come into tonight having been shutout in their last two games. Those were just the third and fourth times that the 'Canes have been shutout this season and the first time they've been blanked in consecutive games. Four of the Carolina's last five games have now resulted in shutouts (they did their own blanking against the Flyers and Lightning prior to those last two losses). They'll look to rebound against a Jets team that's on a two-game win streak, but who has lost seven of their last 10. The Jets are also 1-4 in the last five meetings with the 'Canes while the favorite is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings of these two. Meanwhile, the 'Canes are 18-5 in their last 23 games vs. teams with a winning record and 20-7 in their last 27 immediately following a loss by three or more goals. Take Carolina. |
03-14-23 | Toledo v. Michigan -6 | Top | 80-90 | Win | 100 | 13 h 53 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Michigan Wolverines minus the points over Toledo. The Wolverines fizzled-out in the Big 10 Tourney, as they were blown out, 62-50, by Rutgers. The good news for Michigan here is that it's been terrific off a straight-up loss, as it's 86-50-2 ATS. Even better: the Big 10 Conference has been very profitable in the NIT Tournament, with a 84-61-2 ATS record, while the MAC Conference is under water with a 26-32-2 ATS record. This will be Toledo's first post-season meeting vs. a Big 10 foe. But in its regular season meetings, it's gone 2-11 SU and 5-8 ATS, including 0-4 ATS when not getting 9+ points. And that dovetails with the Mid-American Conference's poor record, overall, vs. the Big 10, as the MAC is 114-147 ATS, including 0-7 ATS its last seven (and 20-40 ATS its last 60) when priced from -2 to +8 points. These two teams last met two seasons ago, and the Wolves won, 91-71, with center Hunter Dickinson scoring 18 points, with 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Toledo has no one in its starting 5 who can effectively defend Dickinson. Take the Wolverines to blow out the Rockets. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-13-23 | Suns v. Warriors -4.5 | Top | 112-123 | Win | 100 | 17 h 5 m | Show |
At 10:10 pm, our selection is on the Golden State Warriors minus the points over Phoenix. We played on the Warriors Saturday night vs. Milwaukee, and were rewarded with a 9-point overtime win. We also played against Phoenix that night, and won that, as well, when the Sacramento Kings upset the Suns, 128-119. Almost unbelievably, the defending champion Warriors are just 35-33 on the season. The reason, of course, is that they've been unable to win on the road all year. They have a road record of 7-26, which is the exact same record as the worst team in basketball -- the 15-53 Detroit Pistons! Of course, the opposite has been true for Golden State at home. The Warriors are 28-7 in San Francisco, which ranks up there with Memphis (28-5), Denver (30-6), and Milwaukee (28-6). For the season, the Warriors' point spread differential between their home and road games is 9.36, which is the 2nd biggest positive differential at this point in the season since 1990 (and 3rd biggest differential, whether positive or negative). Last season, the Warriors were also better at home, but the point spread differential was "only" 4.32. And Golden State was 32-19-2 ATS in its 53 home games last season (compared to 22-27-2 ATS on the road). This season, the Warriors are an ugly 9-23-1 ATS on the road, but 23-11-1 ATS at home, including 7-0 ATS their last seven. I won't fade these numbers. Take Golden State. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-12-23 | Thunder v. Spurs +3.5 | Top | 102-90 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 31 m | Show |
At 7:10 pm, our selection is on the San Antonio Spurs + the points over Oklahoma City. This is the season's 3rd meeting between these Western Conference foes. And OKC won Rounds 1 + 2, by scores of 119-111 and 130-114. We'll take the revenge-minded Spurs, as they're 42-29-1 ATS in the regular season at home when playing with revenge. Last night, the Thunder won at New Orleans, 110-96, while the Spurs had Saturday off after upsetting the Nuggets, 128-120, as a 12-point dog. More good news for San Antonio: it's 109-84-3 ATS vs. unrested foes. Take the Spurs. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

03-12-23 | Hurricanes -105 v. Devils | Top | 0-3 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 27 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Carolina Hurricanes over the New Jersey Devils. While the Boston Bruins are about to wrap up the Atlantic Division title with plenty of games still to go, the situation over in the Metropolitan is quite a bit different. Only two points separate the first place Hurricanes from the second place Devils and the two will meet tonight for the final time this regular season. These are two of the best road clubs in the NHL and that's good news for the 'Canes who are visiting the Devils at Prudential Center in this critical match-up. While the Devils won their league-leading 25th road game last night in Montreal, the 'Canes were embarrassed at home by the Golden Knights, 4-0. As much success as the Devils have enjoyed lately, they have still struggled against the better teams in the league. New Jersey is just 22-51 in its last 73 games against clubs with a winning percentage of .600 and higher. Meanwhile Carolina is 18-3 in its last 21 against teams with a winning record. The Canes are also 5-1 in the last six meetings with the Devils. Take Carolina. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

03-12-23 | Nets v. Nuggets -8.5 | Top | 122-120 | Loss | -115 | 7 h 1 m | Show |
At 3:40 pm, our selection is on the Denver Nuggets minus the points over Brooklyn. The Nuggets pulled a clunker in their last game when they lost to the woeful San Antonio Spurs, 128-120. Meanwhile, the Nets won on Friday in Minnesota, as a 4.5-point underdog, 124-123. And that was Brooklyn's 5th straight ATS win. I think its win streak will get snapped today, as it will be playing its 3rd game in 4 days. And road teams have covered just 35% in Denver since 1990, if they were playing their 3rd game in 4 nights (and Denver wasn't), and both teams were rested. That bodes well for the Nuggets this afternoon. As does the fact that Denver is 31-11 ATS on a 3-game (or worse) ATS losing streak when playing .400 (or better) foes. Finally, the Nuggets fall into 40-12, 109-61 and 150-93 ATS systems of mine based on their upset loss. Take Denver. |
03-12-23 | Texas A&M v. Alabama -4 | Top | 63-82 | Win | 100 | 4 h 23 m | Show |
At 1 pm, our selection is on the Alabama Crimson Tide minus the points over Texas A&M. We cashed our SEC Game of the Month on the Aggies last weekend over Alabama, as A&M won, 67-61, as a 1.5-point home favorite. We'll take Alabama in this rematch, as it's 28-18 ATS when playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season, including 11-4 ATS in the post-season. And Texas A&M is a soft 10-19-1 ATS as an underdog of +3 (or more) points vs. a revenge-minded foe the Aggies defeated in each of the season's prior meetings. Take Alabama. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-12-23 | Princeton +4 v. Yale | Top | 74-65 | Win | 100 | 3 h 22 m | Show |
At 12 Noon, our selection is on the Princeton Tigers + the points over Yale. Both of these teams come into this championship game on SU/ATS win streaks. The Tigers have won their last 3 games SU/ATS, while Yale has won its last 4 games SU/ATS. This Ivy League title game will be played at Jadwin Gymnasium, the home of Princeton. And that's a big advantage, as Princeton has covered 71% as a home dog in Ivy League games since 1990, if it was off a SU/ATS win. Even better: home teams have covered 58% in conference tourney title games since 1990 if they were on a 3-game SU/ATS win streak. Take Princeton. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-11-23 | CS-Fullerton v. UC-Santa Barbara -2 | Top | 62-72 | Win | 100 | 5 h 59 m | Show |
At 9:30 pm, our selection is on the UCSB Gauchos minus the points over Cal State Fullerton. The Gauchos erupted for 92 points in last night's 5-point win over Cal Riverside to reach the championship game of the Big West Tournament. We'll lay the points with UCSB tonight, as tourney teams that scored 90+ points in their semifinal game have gone 56-33 ATS in the Title game, provided they weren't getting 4+ points. UCSB is 27-15-1 ATS its last 43, including 9-0 ATS in 'win situation' games when the line was less than 3 points. Take the Gauchos. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-11-23 | Kings +3.5 v. Suns | Top | 128-119 | Win | 100 | 12 h 46 m | Show |
At 9:10 pm, our selection is on the Sacramento Kings + the points over Phoenix. No Kevin Durant? No problem, as Phoenix blew out Oklahoma City, 132-101, on Wednesday for its 4th straight win and cover. But we'll fade the Suns tonight, as they're 26-54-1 ATS at home off a win by 18+ points, if they were playing a rested foe. Take the Kings. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-11-23 | Bucks v. Warriors -3 | Top | 116-125 | Win | 100 | 5 h 33 m | Show |
At 8:40 pm, our selection is on the Golden State Warriors minus the points over Phoenix. The Bucks have announced Giannis Antetokounmpo won't play tonight, so that's all we need to pull the trigger on Golden State. The Bucks are a miserable 0-17 ATS since May 19, 2019 when they've owned a .650 (or better) win percentage, and have been installed as an underdog of +1.5 (or more) points. And they're 126-182 ATS off 3 (or more) wins. Lay the points with the Warriors. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-11-23 | Heat v. Magic +1.5 | Top | 114-126 | Win | 100 | 10 h 45 m | Show |
At 7:10 pm, our selection is on the Orlando Magic + the points over Miami. The Magic are on a 3-game SU/ATS losing streak, while Miami comes into tonight's game off a big win over Cleveland. Unfortunately for the Heat, they're 11-26-1 ATS off a win. And Orlando's a solid 24-12 ATS off 3 ATS losses, including 6-0 ATS its last six. Take the Magic as a home dog tonight. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-11-23 | Coyotes v. Avalanche -1.5 | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -165 | 9 h 41 m | Show |
At 6:05 pm, our selection is on the Colorado Avalanche minus 1.5 goals over the Arizona Coyotes. Colorado's loss to L.A. on Thursday puts it in a precarious position. With the Jets only one point behind them entering today's play and the Flames knocking on the Wild Card door, the Avs have to be careful they don't become one of a handful of teams who miss the playoffs the season after they won the Stanley Cup. This is a veteran team that knows what it needs to do and a home match-up with the Coyotes may be just what the doctored ordered. As if Arizona's overall record of 23-32-10 wasn't bad enough, the Coyotes are an amazingly awful 7-21-7 away from home this season. That's the worst travel record in the league and it's not likely to get any better after they cleaned house a bit at the trade deadline. And the Coyote's recent ledger in Denver pretty much mirrors their road record this season as they are 2-10 in their last 12 here. The Avs are 20-8 in their last 28 against Division foes and Arizona is 6-20 in its last 26 after its opponent allows five or more goals in its last. Take Colorado minus 1.5 goals. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
03-11-23 | Tulane v. Memphis -6 | Top | 54-94 | Win | 100 | 8 h 7 m | Show |
At 5:30 pm, our selection is on the Memphis Tigers minus the points over Tulane. The Tigers play this AAC semi-final game with revenge from a 90-89 upset home loss to the Green Wave. We'll lay the points today, as Tulane is a woeful 9-27-1 ATS when it's matched up against a revenge-minded foe which Tulane defeated on the road earlier in the season. And Memphis is 44-29-2 ATS when playing with revenge from a home loss. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-10-23 | Arizona State v. Arizona -7.5 | Top | 59-78 | Win | 100 | 16 h 44 m | Show |
At 11:30 pm, our selection is on the Arizona Wildcats minus the points over Arizona State. The Sun Devils shocked the Wildcats in Tucson, 89-88, as a 12-point road underdog last month. And they upset the USC Trojans yesterday, 77-72, as a 4-point dog. We'll take Arizona to avenge its loss to ASU, as it's 6-0 SU and 5-0-1 ATS its last six when playing with revenge. And unrested underdogs have gone 22-39-2 ATS in the Pac-12 Tournament. Take Arizona minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-10-23 | Vanderbilt v. Kentucky -6.5 | Top | 80-73 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 56 m | Show |
At 9:30 pm, our selection is on the Kentucky Wildcats minus the points over Vanderbilt. We played on Vandy last night, and got the $$$ with a 9-point win over LSU. We'll switch gears and fade the Commodores tonight, as they'll be facing a revenge-minded Wildcats squad which Vandy upset just nine days ago. That game was played in Lexington, and the Commodores won, 68-66, as a 9.5-point road underdog. We'll lay the points, as Kentucky is 15-0 ATS in the post-season when favored by more than 3 points, and playing with revenge. Take the Wildcats. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-10-23 | Maryland v. Indiana | Top | 60-70 | Win | 100 | 14 h 35 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Indiana Hoosiers minus the points over Maryland. We played on the Terrapins earlier this season at home vs. Indiana, and were rewarded with a 66-55 victory. But we'll take Indiana in this rematch, as revenge-minded teams have gone 152-114 ATS in the Big 10 Tournament. And Indiana also falls into a 319-227 ATS tourney system of mine which plays on certain revenge-minded teams. Take the Hoosiers. |
03-10-23 | Middle Tennessee +8 v. Florida Atlantic | Top | 65-68 | Win | 100 | 5 h 45 m | Show |
At 12:30 pm, our selection is on the Middle Tennessee St Blue Raiders + the points over Florida Atlantic. The Owls are 29-3 this season, but one of those three losses was to this Blue Raiders team, on Feb. 16. The Blue Raiders pulled off another upset yesterday, when they ousted Charlotte from the Tourney. Middle Tenn has won 15 of the last 20 games vs. Florida Atlantic, and is 13-7 ATS in those games. We'll take the points with the underdog Blue Raiders in this semi-final game, as Florida Atlantic falls into a negative 88-170 ATS system of mine. Take MTSU. |
03-10-23 | Rutgers v. Purdue -6 | Top | 65-70 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 17 m | Show |
At 12 Noon, our selection is on the Purdue Boilermakers minus the points over Rutgers. Purdue ended its regular season with a 76-71 win over Illinois, but failed to cover the spread, as it was favored by 6.5. Meanwhile, Rutgers comes into this game off an upset win over Michigan yesterday. The Scarlet Knights also upset the Boilers in West Lafayette, 65-64, earlier this season. We'll take Purdue to avenge that defeat, as it's cashed 71% over the last 33 years as a 4-point (or greater) favorite when playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season, if Purdue was off an ATS loss in its previous game. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-09-23 | LSU v. Vanderbilt -4.5 | Top | 68-77 | Win | 100 | 10 h 8 m | Show |
At 9:30 pm, our selection is on the Vanderbilt Commodores minus the points over LSU. The Tigers are a woeful 1-15 straight-up, and 3-13 ATS as an underdog since early January. We'll take Vanderbilt, as it's 7-1 ATS its last 8 post-season games. |
03-09-23 | Alabama A&M v. Southern -4 | Top | 77-63 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 6 m | Show |
At 9:30 pm, our selection is on the Southern U. Jaguars minus the points over Alabama A&M. These two teams met 5 days ago, and the Bulldogs got the better of the Jaguars, 68-65. We'll take Southern to avenge that defeat, as the Bulldogs are a poor 8-16 ATS vs. revenge-minded foes. Take Southern. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-09-23 | Villanova v. Creighton -4.5 | Top | 74-87 | Win | 100 | 10 h 5 m | Show |
At 9:30 pm, our selection is on the Creighton Blue Jays minus the points over Villanova. Creighton lost by 12 points at Villanova less than two weeks ago. We'll take the revenge-minded Blue Jays today, as they're 37-18 ATS as a favorite when playing with revenge from an upset defeat. Take Creighton. |
03-09-23 | UNLV v. Boise State -5 | Top | 76-87 | Win | 100 | 10 h 44 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Boise St Broncos minus the points over UNLV. The Broncos will look to extend their win streak vs. the Rebels to 8 games this evening. It's true that UNLV will be playing this game on their home court. Unfortunately, they're a soft 20-37-2 ATS at home if they won their previous game. Lay the points with Boise St. |
03-09-23 | Stanford v. Arizona -9.5 | Top | 84-95 | Win | 100 | 10 h 37 m | Show |
At 9:00 pm, our selection is on the Arizona Wildcats minus the points over Stanford. The Cardinal upset Arizona, 88-79, as a 7.5-point home dog last month. We'll take Arizona to avenge that loss, as it's 36-25 ATS in conference games when playing with revenge from an upset road loss. Lay the points. |
03-09-23 | Coppin State v. Norfolk State -10.5 | Top | 56-73 | Win | 100 | 9 h 6 m | Show |
At 8:30 pm, our selection is on the Norfolk St Spartans minus the points over Coppin St. The Eagles have been horrid against the point spread this season, including 0-11 ATS when priced from +4.5 to +14.5 points. That doesn't bode well for Coppin St. tonight. Lay the points with the Spartans. |
03-09-23 | Devils -138 v. Capitals | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 40 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the New Jersey Devils over the Washington Capitals. Although the Caps didn't completely disband their veteran team at the trade deadline, they lost several solid players that had been with them for some time. In return, DC got what it is hoping are a valuable collection of future draft picks and that the roster will still be left with enough star power to perhaps ensure the it can be moderately competitive the rest of the way. The Caps just returned from a west coast road trip in which they took two of three games. Their 'reward' is having to play the best road team in the league upon their return to Washington tonight. The Devils are an astonishing 23-4-4 away from New Jersey, a record that they themselves would be hard-pressed to explain. That record, combined with the fact that the Caps are 1-5 in their last six here at Capital One Arena, may mean a long night for the home team. New Jersey is 6-0 in its last six games vs. Metropolitan teams while the favorite is 42-14 in the last 56 meetings of these two clubs. Take the Devils. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
03-09-23 | Tulsa +16.5 v. Wichita State | Top | 63-81 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 47 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane + the points over Wichita St. The Shockers blew out South Florida, 69-49, to end its regular season. They now will take on Tulsa, which they defeated twice this season (by an average of 7.5 points). The Shockers are favored by double-digits tonight, and we'll happily take the points, as the Shockers are a poor 6-18 ATS off a win, including 1-11 ATS off a victory by more than 10 points. Take Tulsa. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-09-23 | San Jose State v. Nevada -5 | Top | 81-77 | Loss | -108 | 6 h 21 m | Show |
At 5:30 pm, our selection is on the Nevada Wolf Pack minus the points over San Jose St. The Wolf Pack were upset by rival UNLV, 69-67, at home this past Saturday. We'll take Nevada to bounce back as it's 47-26 ATS off a home loss. Take the Wolf Pack minus the points. |

At 5:30 pm, our selection is on the Grand Canyon Antelopes minus the points over Seattle. The Redhawks are a horrid 18-32 ATS as an underdog (compared to 33-15 ATS as a favorite). Here, Seattle has been installed as an underdog. Let's lay the points with Grand Canyon. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

At 5 pm, our selection is on the Dayton Flyers minus the points over St. Joseph's. The Hawks blew out George Washington yesterday, 87-76. Meanwhile, the Flyers fell at St. Louis last Friday, 65-61. But they're 19-4-2 ATS off a conference loss, including 10-0 ATS vs. a foe off a win. Take Dayton. |
03-09-23 | West Virginia v. Kansas -4 | Top | 61-78 | Win | 100 | 4 h 6 m | Show |
At 3 pm, our selection is on the Kansas Jayhawks minus the points over West Virginia. The Mountaineers have covered five straight. But we'll fade them today, as Kansas is 55-28 ATS when favored by 3.5 to 13.5 points vs. foes on a 3-game (or better) ATS win streak. Take the Jayhawks. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-09-23 | Providence +7.5 v. Connecticut | Top | 66-73 | Win | 100 | 4 h 53 m | Show |
At 2:30 pm, our selection is on the Providence Friars + the points over Connecticut. The Friars come into this game off back to back upset losses to Xavier and Seton Hall. We'll look for Ed Cooley's men to bounce back this afternoon, as they're 25-11 ATS as an underdog, including 10-0 ATS when playing with revenge. Take Providence. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-09-23 | Pittsburgh v. Duke -5.5 | Top | 69-96 | Win | 100 | 3 h 21 m | Show |
At 2:30 pm, our selection is on the Duke Blue Devils minus the points over Pitt. The Blue Devils upset North Carolina last Saturday, 62-57. We'll lay the points with Duke this afternoon, as it's 23-12 ATS in the post-season off an ATS win. And it's also 7-3 ATS in the ACC Tourney when not favored by 9+ points. Take the Blue Devils. |
03-09-23 | Mississippi State -5 v. Florida | Top | 69-68 | Loss | -108 | 2 h 49 m | Show |
At 1 pm, our selection is on the Mississippi St minus the points over Florida. The Bulldogs were edged by 2 points at home by Florida in the season's lone meeting. We'll take the revenge-minded Bulldogs this afternoon, as they're 50-22 ATS when playing with revenge from an upset loss, including 14-1 ATS when favored by less than 5 points. Take Miss State |
03-09-23 | Iowa State v. Baylor -4.5 | Top | 78-72 | Loss | -105 | 1 h 20 m | Show |
At 12:30 pm, our selection is on the Baylor Bears minus the points over Iowa St. This is a rematch of a game played five days ago, won by the Cyclones, 73-58. We'll take Baylor today, as it's 14-5 ATS when it lost the previous meeting by double-digits. Lay the points. |
