09-15-20 | Royals -102 v. Tigers | 0-6 | Loss | -102 | 9 h 38 m | Show
10-Unit Play. Take #913 Kansas City over Detroit (7:10 p.m. Tuesday, September 15) Both teams had an off day to embrace the collective streaks they are on. Kansas City had to feel better about their day off as they have won their past 6 contests, whereas Detroit probably didn't enjoy their day off much seeing how they are on a three game losing streak. The Royals are getting contributions from a bunch of guys during their winning streak as they have scored 44 runs over those 6 games. Danny Duffy will be on the mound for Kansas City and he has been solid in 6 starts on the road this season going 2-2 with a 3.13 ERA. Matthew Boyd has struggled at home this year as teams have batted .341 against him and his ERA is over 9 over 4 starts. In Boyd's last 5 starts, he has allowed 8 home runs while his offense has scored 2 or fewer runs in four out of those five starts. I like Kansas City to get the win in this one. 09-11-20 | Cubs +165 v. Brewers | 0-1 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 7 m | Show
5-Unit Play. Take #915 Chicago (NL) over Milwaukee (8:10 p.m. Friday, September 11) The Brewers are currently on the outside looking in for the playoffs with 19 games remaining and I think they are going to be a little farther away after tonight's contest. Brandon Woodruff has an ERA of 4.29 at home across 21 innings and the Cubs have knocked him around a bit in the two starts he has made against them this season. Jon Lester hasn't been very good over his last 5 starts for the Cubs, but he has pitched well when he has been on the road this season. Lester is 2-0 with a 2.95 ERA over 4 starts away from Wrigley Field without allowing a home run in 21.1 innings. I like Chicago in this one to extend their lead on Milwaukee. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
09-09-20 | Reds +143 v. Cubs | 3-0 | Win | 143 | 7 h 30 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #917 Cincinnati over Chicago (NL) (7:05 p.m. Tuesday, September 9) Besides his opening day start, Yu Darvish has been fantastic this season going 7-1 with a 1.44 ERA over 8 starts. He beat the Reds on August 29th 3-0 striking out 8, but the Reds had success against him. Cincinnati had 7 hits off Darvish in his 6 innings but could not string hits together to score some runs. I think the Reds will have confidence facing him so recently and the fact that one of their vocal leaders Trevor Bauer will be on the mound. Bauer has had great success against the Cubs in his career going 4-1 with a 1.41 ERA over 5 starts, and if his offense can give him some runs, I think he will lead them to victory. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
09-08-20 | White Sox -125 v. Pirates | 4-5 | Loss | -125 | 8 h 30 m | Show
10-Unit Play. Take #959 Chicago (AL) over Pittsburgh (7:05 p.m. Tuesday, September 8) The White Sox are in a groove and have been playing with a lot of confidence lately winning 16 of their last 20 contests. They clobbered the Pirates in a two-game series earlier this season outscoring them 14-3 and I think that is what is going to happen in this matchup. Dylan Cease has allowed more than two earned runs just once in his last seven starts and I think he will be able to limit Pittsburgh's offense. Joe Musgrove will be making his second start since returning from the IL and he has not been very good when he has pitched this season. Musgrove has lost all four of the games he has started this year and I think the White Sox lineup is going to present some problems for him. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
09-06-20 | Blue Jays -128 v. Red Sox | 10-8 | Win | 100 | 1 h 59 m | Show
2-Unit Play. Take #961 Toronto (-130) over Boston (1:35 p.m. Sunday, September 6) Robbie Ray and Andrew Triggs both have had rough seasons and that is probably why they are battling in the AL East instead of the NL West. Home runs and walks have been a big problem for Ray this year as he will be making his first start for the Blue Jays. If he can limit those I think he can come away with a win against the Red Sox who he hasn't faced since 2014. Triggs has only made two appearances this season so I don't expect him to be on top of his game and on a pitch count. Toronto needs a win to tie the season series for the year and I think that is just what they will do. |
09-05-20 | Padres +108 v. A's | 4-8 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 9 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #901 San Diego over Oakland (4:10 p.m. Saturday, September 5) Oakland didn't look good in their first game in five days as they had to take precautions with one of their players getting Covid, but playing against the Padres has done that to most teams. Chris Paddack hasn't been as effective this year as most thought he would be, but he may have figured something out in his last start. Paddack didn't allow an earned run over 6 innings while striking out 8 Rockies in a 13-2 Padres win and I think he can have similar results against the A's who he has never faced. Sean Manaea will take the mound for Oakland and even though he has won his last two starts his ERA at home in three starts is over 6 on the year and I think he will have a tough time navigating the San Diego lineup. I like the Dads to win this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
09-03-20 | White Sox -130 v. Royals | 11-6 | Win | 100 | 9 h 15 m | Show
6-Unit Play. Take #913 Chicago (AL) over Kansas City (8:05 p.m. Thursday, September 3) These two teams met less than a week ago with the White Sox taking two of three and I think they are going to start this series off with a win. Dylan Cease has squared off against Kansas City twice this season and has been pretty good going 1-0 with a 2.61 ERA holding them to a .171 batting average. Danny Duffy has the ball for the Royals and he has been up and down this season. He hasn't been very good when pitching at home so far this season as he is ERA is 5.00 and he allowed 2 home runs in his only start against the White Sox this season. It doesn't help Kansas City that Jorge Solar most likely won't play today because he hurt his oblique and was removed from last night's game. I like the White Sox in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-31-20 | White Sox -127 v. Twins | 8-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 16 m | Show
3 Unit Play. Take #967 Chicago (AL) over Minnesota (8:10 p.m., Monday, August 31) Lucas Giolito looks to follow up his first no hitter against the Twins who are struggling mightily. Giolito has actually been really good over his last five starts allowing more than 2 earned runs just once over that span. The White Sox also have the chance to be in first place with a win today for extra motivation. Rich Hill is still trying to build up his arm strength and Minnesota has lost both of his starts since his return. I don't expect Hill to go deep into this game, especially with the White Sox offense. I like Chicago to take game 1 of this series. Best of Luck - DOC's Sports |
08-29-20 | Indians v. Cardinals -130 | 2-1 | Loss | -130 | 3 h 42 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #954 St. Louis over Cleveland (1:15 p.m. Saturday, August 29) St. Louis has lost three games in a row and there isn't any pitcher they would rather have on the mound to snap that streak than Jack Flaherty. Flaherty has looked great in his three appearances so far this season yielding just three earned runs over those starts. However, he has not logged very many innings because of the Cardinals needing a break due to a Covid outbreak, but I think he will be able to go longer into this contest. Carlos Carrasco hasn't made it past the 5th inning in his last three starts because he has been getting roughed up in those starts allowing at least 3 earned runs in each. Cleveland rocked the Cardinals last night so I expect St. Louis to bounce back in this one and get the win. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-26-20 | Cubs -119 v. Tigers | Top | 6-7 | Loss | -119 | 7 h 16 m | Show |
10 Unit Play. Take #911 Chicago (NL) over Detroit (7:10 p.m. Wednesday, August 26) The Cubs and Tigers both got off to great starts to their seasons but have had their struggles recently. Fortunately for the Cubs, they are still in first place in their division while Detroit is in fourth. Jon Lester will be on the mound for Chicago tonight and he has not been particularly good in his past couple of starts, allowing 13 earned runs and 6 home runs. However, those games were at Wrigley Field where the wind can bring any pitcher to their knees. Lester has made two starts on the road this year and he has been outstanding, winning both contests allowing 1 earned run on 3 hits over 11 innings. Michael Fulmer will take the ball for Detroit and it has been a rough go for him as he is still working his way back from Tommy John surgery last season. Fulmer has made four starts while being on a 3-inning limit and has allowed 12 earned runs and 6 home runs across 11.1 innings. These teams have split the first two games of this series scoring 10 runs apiece and I think the Cubs are going to win this game and take the series. Look for a bounce back from Lester and look for Fulmer's struggles to continue. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-25-20 | Phillies -120 v. Nationals | 8-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 1 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #951 Philadelphia over Washington (6:05 p.m. Tuesday, August 25) The Nationals and Phillies are not where they want to be at this point in the season which is tied for last place in the National League East. Jake Arrieta is hoping to get his season back on track and he typically pitches well at Nationals Park which I think he will do. Bryce Harper is having a great season batting .320 and 19 RBI while J.T. Realmuto leads the team with 8 home runs and 22 RBI. They will be facing Erick Fedde who has not done well when he has extra rest in between starts in his career. Fedde's ERA is 5.32 in 13 career starts when he has six or more days of rest and he last pitched on August 14th. I think the Phillies are going to get the win in the first matchup between these teams this season. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-22-20 | Diamondbacks -155 v. Giants | 1-5 | Loss | -155 | 9 h 22 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #929 Arizona (-155) over San Francisco (9:15 p.m. Saturday, August 22) Arizona has dropped three games in a row, but they have an excellent shot at ending that streak tonight with Zac Gallen on the mound. Gallen hasn't allowed more than 2 earned runs in any of his 5 starts this season and the Diamondbacks have won four out of his five starts. Tyler Anderson will be on the bump for San Francisco and he has been roughed up in his past two starts allowing 4 and 5 earned runs respectively. Arizona has scored plenty of runs against Anderson in the past and I don't see why tonight would be any different. I like the D'backs in this one. |
08-21-20 | Brewers -132 v. Pirates | 2-7 | Loss | -132 | 5 h 25 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #957 Milwaukee over Pittsburgh (7:05 p.m. Friday, August 21) The Brewers haven't played as well as they would have liked so far this year and have had their struggles at the plate. Playing the Pirates has helped a lot of teams break out of their funk and I think that will happen tonight. Chad Kuhl will be on the mound tonight and he has transitioned from the bullpen to a starter because of injuries. The Pirates have lost both of Kuhl's starts and he has allowed 3 home runs over those 9 innings. Adrian Houser has been pretty good so far for the Brewers bringing a 3.27 ERA into his fifth start tonight. The Brewers have won all four of the games Houser has started this season and Christian Yelich is starting to find his swing. I like Milwaukee in game 1 of this series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-20-20 | Diamondbacks v. A's -142 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 26 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #922 Oakland over Arizona (9:40 p.m. Thursday, August 20) Sean Manaea hasn't been very good so far this season but he has only faced opponents within the division. He pitched better in his most recent start and I think he will deliver a solid performance against the Diamondbacks who he has faced just once in his career. Alex Young will be making his second start as he is filling in for Madison Bumgarner who is injured. Oakland has played better at home this year and I think they get a split in this series with a win tonight. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-17-20 | Padres -130 v. Rangers | Top | 14-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 37 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #965 San Diego over Texas (9:05 p.m. Monday, August 17) The Padres have only played their divisional foes so far in their 23 games this season, so playing against anyone outside of their division is welcomed. San Diego will be familiar with Texas' scheduled starter Jordan Lyles, who made 13 appearances for the Fathers during the 2017-2018 season. No surprise this season Lyles is getting knocked around allowing 11 eared runs over his last three starts spanning 14.1 innings. The Padres have lost their last 5 games and I think facing Lyles is going to be the cure they need. Zach Davies will be on the bump for San Diego and he has allowed 2 runs or less in three of his four starts. Padres need a win and I think they get it here. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-13-20 | Nationals +120 v. Mets | 2-8 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 35 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #951 Washington over NY Mets (1:10 p.m. Thursday, August 13) The Nationals are a different team now that their best player has returned to the lineup. Juan Soto is batting .435 since returning from Covid and he has hit 4 home runs in his 23 at bats. He will be facing rookie David Peterson who is 2-1 over his first three starts and has been solid for the Mets. Auston Voth doesn't have much to show for his efforts so far, but he has pitched very well for Washington. Voth has allowed 2 earned runs over the 10 innings he has pitched still in search of his first win on the season. I think the Nationals are going to get it done in this one and pick up the win. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-12-20 | Diamondbacks v. Rockies -104 | Top | 13-7 | Loss | -104 | 4 h 39 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #906 Colorado over Arizona (3:10 p.m. Wednesday, August 12) When your struggling as a pitcher the last place you want to pitch at is Coors Field, and that is the position Luke Weaver is in. Weaver has an ERA over 12 on the season and he hasn't made it past the fourth inning in any of his three starts. He will have his hands full with Charlie Blackmon who is batting .500 on the season and brings a 15 game hitting streak into today's matchup. Antonio Senzatela will be on the bump for the Rockies and he has been solid in his three starts this year. Senzatela has won all three games partly because he has had great run support with his offense providing him with over 8 runs a game, but he has allowed fewer than one hit and inning as well. I like the Rockies to win this game and take the series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-11-20 | Diamondbacks v. Rockies -107 | Top | 7-8 | Win | 100 | 10 h 60 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #972 Colorado over Arizona (8:40 p.m. Tuesday, August 11) Kyle Freeland has been dealing so far this season and I don't see any reason why that will change in this matchup. Freeland has gone at least 6 innings in each of his three starts allowing a total of 5 earned runs, all Colorado wins. Zac Gallen has failed to record a win or loss in his three starts so far this season, having pitched well not allowing more than 2 earned runs over those contests. However, he was hit hard by Colorado last year yielding 14 hits over 10.1 innings in two starts and I think the Rockies will deliver at Coors Field. Charlie Blackmon is swinging a hot stick this season leading the Rockies with a .484 average and 19 RBI's. I like the Rockies to get the win tonight after losing game 1 of this series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-10-20 | Twins -104 v. Brewers | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 10 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #909 Minnesota over Milwaukee (8:10 p.m. Monday, August 10) Randy Dobnak has been impressive in his first three starts this season allowing just three hits in each while going further into each contest. Dobnak has yielded just one run through the first fourteen innings this season winning his last two and I think he can continue that success against the Brewers tonight. Adrian Houser has been just as good for Milwaukee this season. Houser has made two starts allowing just one run, but both of those starts have been on the road. The Twins have lost their last four games, most recently getting swept by the Royals, but I think they bounce back tonight and take game 1 of this series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-09-20 | Twins -145 v. Royals | 2-4 | Loss | -145 | 2 h 9 m | Show
1-Unit Play. Take #963 Minnesota (-150) over Kansas City (2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 9) The Twins gave one away yesterday. But I think that they will rebound here and lock up this series. Jose Berrios is their best pitcher and I don't think he'll disappoint here. He's been solid in his career against the Royals and he should have plenty of offensive backing here against Brady Singer. |
08-08-20 | Twins -149 v. Royals | 6-9 | Loss | -149 | 8 h 44 m | Show
7-Unit Play. Take #913 Minnesota over Kansas City (7:05 p.m. Saturday, August 8) Minnesota lost back to back games for the first time this season yesterday, but I think they will snap that losing streak tonight. 2019 All-Star Jake Odorizzi will be making his season debut as he took his time to return from an intercostal strain. Danny Duffy will be on the mound for Kansas City and is 0-2 despite pitching pretty well. He had a tough time getting the Twins out last year in two starts as he allowed 11 earned runs on 14 hits (with 7 of those leaving the ball park) over 12.2 innings. Minnesota is bopping home runs this year as they have hit the fourth most so far this season in the majors, and I think they will take Duffy deep a couple times tonight. I think the Twins get the win tonight and even up the series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-07-20 | Rockies +116 v. Mariners | 8-4 | Win | 116 | 6 h 4 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #977 Colorado over Seattle (9:40 p.m. Friday, August 7) I can't imagine many people thought the Rockies would get off to the hot start that they have so far this season. Colorado comes into tonight's contest having won 4 of their last 5 games where the Mariners come in having lost 4 of their last 5 games. Antonio Senzatela has won both of his starts so far this season allowing 1 run over 6 innings in his first start and 2 runs over 5 innings in his second start, and I think he can limit a Seattle lineup that lacks firepower. Yusei Kikuchi has had mixed results so far in his two starts this season and is still in search of his first win on the year. I think the Rockies continue their winning ways and pick up the win in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-06-20 | Blue Jays v. Braves -114 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 42 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #916 Atlanta over Toronto (7:10 p.m. Thursday, August 6) The Braves had a rare night off at the plate last night scoring just one run, and even though they are facing one of the best up and coming pitchers I think they are going to be able to plate some runs in this one. Nate Pearson will be making the second start of his young career, and in his first start he threw five shutout innings striking out five Nationals in a game the Blue Jays ended up losing 4-0. Touki Toussaint is another young arm who has had brief stints in the majors for the Braves the past couple of years mostly as a reliever. He has been thrust into a starting role after the Braves designated Mike Foltynewicz for assignment, and he was solid in his first start striking out 5 while not allowing a run on 3 hits over 5 innings against the Mets. I think the Braves take the rubber match of this series and get the win. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-05-20 | Red Sox v. Rays -139 | 5-0 | Loss | -139 | 8 h 33 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #954 Tampa Bay over Boston (6:40 p.m. Wednesday, August 5) Tampa Bay ended its 5-game losing streak last night and I think they will get to .500 with a win tonight. Ryan Yarbrough has been effective through his first two starts this season allowing 2 earned runs on just 6 hits across 11.2 innings but does not have a win yet. The Rays got 2019 All-Star Austin Meadows back in their lineup last night as he returned from Covid, making an immediate impact going 2 for 4 with an RBI triple. The Red Sox will trot out Martin Perez to the hill who has been rocked when pitching at Tropicana Field going 1-3 with an 8.39 ERA over 5 appearances (4 starts). I think the Rays are going to beat up on Perez and get the win tonight. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-04-20 | Royals v. Cubs -186 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 57 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #920 Chicago (NL) over Kansas City (8:15 p.m. Tuesday, August 4) The Cubs sit atop the National League Central and are rolling right now having won their last four contests. Meanwhile, the Royals come into tonight's game struggling to score and are at the bottom of the American League Central. It won't get any easier for Kansas City tonight as Kyle Hendricks thrives when pitching at Wrigley Field. Hendricks threw a complete game shutout of the Brewers on Opening Day in a 3-0 win in Chicago, allowing just three hits and last year he held opponents to a .206 batting average over 14 starts when pitching at home. Brady Singer will be on the mound for the Royals and he has impressed in his first two starts of his major league career allowing 2 earned runs in each while lasting 5 innings. I think Singer is running into the Cubs at the wrong time and is going to pick up his first loss of his career. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-03-20 | White Sox -101 v. Brewers | 6-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 11 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #961 Chicago (AL) over Milwaukee (8:10 p.m. Monday, August 3) Covid has thrown a bunch of curveballs at the Brewers and I think it is going to have an impact on their play. Milwaukee hasn't played since Wednesday because the Cardinals had positive tests for Covid so their games against them were postponed. Lorenzo Cain decided to opt out of the season because of Covid and Ryan Braun is out as well with an infected finger. Meanwhile, the White Sox come in hot winning their last 4 games by a combined score of 27-9 getting production all throughout their lineup. Carlos Rodon will be on the mound and he needs to be better than he was hist first time out, but he will have some lee way with the way his team is swinging the bats. Brett Anderson will be on the mound for Milwaukee and making his season debut so I expect him to be on a pitch count. I like the advantages Chicago has going into this contest. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-31-20 | Padres v. Rockies +100 | 8-7 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 35 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #920 Colorado (-105)Â over San Diego (8:10 p.m. Friday, July 31) As much as they were hoping to, I don't think the Rockies nor the Padres thought they were going to get off to this good of a start to their season. The Rockies will be making their home debut and unlike many pitchers Jon Gray feels completely at ease when pitching at Coors Field. Gray went 6-2 with a 3.46 ERA over 13 games (12 starts) at Coors Field last year and he has had plenty of success against the Padres throughout his career. Garrett Richards will be on the bump for San Diego and he was sharp in his first start allowing just one hit, striking out six, yielding no runs over 5 innings. However, Richards has never pitched in Coors Field and I think he will have a hard time navigating the Rockies lineup and that ball park. I think the Rockies get the win and maintain their lead atop the NL West. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-30-20 | Nationals v. Blue Jays -145 | Top | 6-4 | Loss | -145 | 3 h 3 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #954 Toronto over Washington (4:05 p.m. Thursday, July 30) Toronto needed a front line starter for their pitching staff so they signed Hyun Jin Ryu in the off season after he went 14-5 with a 2.32 ERA over 29 starts for the Dodgers last year. Ryu was great in his home starts, but he won't be pitching in the friendly confines of Dodgers Stadium or even Toronto for that fact. The Blue Jays will be playing their home games in Buffalo, NY, but Ryu has dominated the Nationals wherever he has faced them. In three starts against the Nationals last season, two of which were in D.C, Ryu allowed 3 earned runs on 13 hits over 19.2 innings with his team winning all three contests. Washington has been struggling at the plate without having Anthony Rendon (left in free agency), Ryan Zimmerman (opted out), and Juan Soto (Covid) in their lineup and I think that will continue tonight. Erick Fedde will make another start filling in for Stephen Strasburg, he lasted just four innings against the Yankees in his first start allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. I think the Jays win today and take three of four from the defending champions. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-29-20 | Brewers -139 v. Pirates | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 5 h 1 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #915 Milwaukee over Pittsburgh (7:05 p.m. Wednesday, July 29) This isn't a must win for either team, but the winner will get a nice boost and their first season series win in the rubber match. Brandon Woodruff will be on the mound for Milwaukee and the Brewers won all four games he pitched against Pittsburgh last season. Woodruff threw 85 pitches on Opening Day against the Cubs and I think he will be called upon to throw more in tonight's matchup because the Brewers bullpen has been used quite a bit the past couple of games. Joe Musgrove will have the ball for the Pirates tonight and he was roughed up by the Brewers in two starts in Pittsburgh last season, allowing 8 earned runs across 12 innings including 5 home runs. I think the Brewers offense gets it done and Woodruff leads Milwaukee to a victory. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-28-20 | White Sox v. Indians -119 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 2 h 26 m | Show
2-Unit Play. Take #962 Cleveland (-120) over Chicago (AL) (7 p.m. Tuesday, July 28) The Indians took two of three from Kansas City in their opening series but they will face a more formidable opponent in the White Sox. Cleveland found their offense on Sunday as they scored 9 runs and I think they will carry that into tonight's contest. The White Sox had no problems with their offense as they scored 16 runs and bopped 7 home runs, but their pitching was not good as they yielded 27 runs. Aaron Civale will have the ball for the Indians and he was very good at home in his rookie campaign last year. Civale went 2-1 with a 1.09 ERA over 24.2 innings in Cleveland last season including an 11-3 win over the White Sox where he went 5 innings allowing just one earned run. Dylan Cease will be on the mound for Chicago and he had mixed results in his first season in the majors last season. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-26-20 | Diamondbacks +110 v. Padres | 4-3 | Win | 110 | 5 h 59 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #975 Arizona over San Diego (4:10 p.m. Sunday, July 26) Garret Richards had a couple of good years for the Angels, but he has made just 31 starts over the past four years due to various injuries and I don't trust him. The Diamondbacks have struggled in their first two games against the Padres, but I think they will take it out on Richards today. Zac Gallen performed well in his rookie season for the Marlins and D'backs, posting a 2.81 ERA over 80 innings and I think he has a bright future. I like Arizona to get it done today and avoid the sweep. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |

10-30-19 | Nationals v. Astros -130 | 6-2 | Loss | -130 | 7 h 36 m | Show
7-Unit Play. Take #914 Houston (-135) over Washington (8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30) I am going with the home team in this one. Houston has three big advantages going for it tonight and it starts with the home field advantage. The road team has won ever game of this series. I think it is highly unlikely that the road team is going to win all seven games, something that has never happened in World Series history. Max Scherzer was scratched from his last start and there is no telling how healthy that he is. He also has a checkered postseason history. I actually think Scherzer will be very good tonight. But I don't think that he will be able to go deep enough into this game. And the second big edge that the Astros have is the bullpen. Washington's bullpen has been an issue all season and I think that it will come back to bite them here. I think that this will be a rare low-scoring game in this series. That favors the home team and the team with the better bullpen. The final advantage for the Astros is that they have experience in big World Series games like this. They won a Game 7 just two years ago in a situation like this and I think they will do it again. I have this game at 4-2 for the Astros. |
10-17-19 | Astros v. Yankees -124 | 8-3 | Loss | -124 | 9 h 5 m | Show
2-Unit Play. Take #920 NY Yankees over Houston (8:05 p.m. Thursday, October 17) The Yankees backs are against the wall and they desperately need a win so they don't go down 3-1 in the ALCS with Justin Verlander and Gerrit Cole waiting in the wings. Masahiro Tanaka will be on the mound tonight and he has been excellent in the postseason for New York going 5-2 with a 1.32 ERA over 7 starts, which includes allowing just one run on four hits in 11 innings this postseason. Zack Greinke's postseason with the Astros has not gone so well as he has an ERA of 8.38 across two starts and I think he will have more trouble tonight. Greinke allowed home runs to Gleybar Torres and Giancarlo Stanton and he yielded three more against the Rays in the ALCS. I think the Yankees find a way to win this game and even up the series at 2-2. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
10-07-19 | Yankees -140 v. Twins | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 3 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #907 NY Yankees over Minnesota (8:40 p.m. Monday, October 7) Minnesota has lost their last 15 playoff appearances and their last 12 against the Yankees and I think that streak will continue tonight. Luis Severino has made three starts as he made his way back from shoulder and lat issues, but the bullpen will be rested in case he gets into any kind of trouble. The Yankees bats have produced in the first two games of this series scoring 10 and 8 runs respectively and they roughed up Minnesota starter Jake Odorizzi in his only start against them this year. Odorizzi allowed 9 earned runs (2 home runs) in a 10-7 loss on July 24th and I think he will have his hands full tonight with the way New York is swinging the bats right now. I think the Yankees complete the sweep tonight. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
10-03-19 | Cardinals v. Braves -137 | 7-6 | Loss | -137 | 6 h 39 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #916 Atlanta over St. Louis (5:05 p.m. Thursday, October 3) The Atlanta Braves signed Dallas Keuchel for this very reason, to be a front line starter for a young pitching staff and I think he will come through tonight. Keuchel has notoriously been a much better pitcher when he pitches at home as compared to on the road and this season was no different. Keuchel went 4-3 with a 2.74 ERA over 10 starts and he went 4-5 with a 5.01 ERA over 9 starts on the road. Another thing in the Braves favor is that the Cardinals were not very good on the road this season as they were just 41-40 on the year. Miles Mikolas will have the ball for St. Louis and he did not help the teams road record as he was 4-8 with a 5.40 ERA over 17 starts. I like the Braves to take a 1-0 lead in this series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
10-02-19 | Rays v. A's -127 | 5-1 | Loss | -127 | 9 h 46 m | Show
2-Unit Play. Take #914 Oakland over Tampa Bay (8:10 p.m. Wednesday, October 2) Oakland finds themselves in the same scenario they were in last season in a win or go home game, but this year they are at home and I think that will make a big difference. Oakland was very good when playing at home this season going 52-29 and they are sending their hottest pitcher to the mound. Sean Manaea will take the ball for the Athletics and he has won his last four starts allowing just 4 earned runs over 24.2 innings. Charlie Morton will be starting for Tampa Bay and he has been great for the Rays this season. However, Morton has been vulnerable on the road as his season ERA is a full run higher when away from home and in his last 5 road starts he has given up 22 earned runs over 26.1 innings. Oakland won the season series 4-3 and I think they will win this game as well. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
09-25-19 | Red Sox -139 v. Rangers | 10-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 54 m | Show
2-Unit Play. Take #971 Boston (-150) over Texas (8:05 p.m. Wednesday, September 25) The Red Sox are not going to be making the playoffs after winning the World Series last year but they are not the type of team that is going to roll over. Rick Porcello might be pitching his last game for Boston and he is as competitive as it gets. Porcello owns a 7-4 career mark against the Rangers in 13 career starts against them and I think he will deliver a solid performance. Rookie left hander Koby Allard will be starting for Texas and he has not been very good when pitching in front of the home crowd. Allard's ERA at home is 7.36 in three starts and he will be facing a talented lineup that pounded out 14 hits and 12 runs in last night's contest. I like the Sox in this matchup. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
09-14-19 | Reds v. Diamondbacks -124 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 17 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #910 Arizona over Cincinnati (8:10 p.m. Saturday, September 14) Arizona picked a bad time to have a 6 game losing streak as they now sit 4 1/2 games behind the Cubs for the final Wild Card spot with just 14 games to play. Merrill Kelly will be on the mound for the Diamondbacks and he owns the dubious distinction of having the most losses in the National League. However, he has been pretty good at home as his ERA is almost two and a half runs lower than on the road and the D'backs have won the last three games he has started at Chase Field. Anthony DeSclafini will have the ball for Cincinnati and he has pitched well recently but the Reds have alternated wins and losses over his last 10 starts. Arizona is desperate for a win and I think they snap their losing streak tonight. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
09-13-19 | Dodgers -126 v. Mets | 9-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 30 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #955 LA Dodgers over NY Mets (7:10 p.m. Friday, September 13) Clayton Kershaw has been uncharacteristically bad over his last three starts but I think he will find his groove against a team he has had plenty of success against in the past. Kershaw is 9-0 with a 2.14 ERA over 14 regular season starts against the Mets and I think he will lead his team to victory in this matchup. Noah Syndergaard will be on the bump for the Mets and he hasn't been as sharp when pitching in New York this season. Syndergaard's ERA at home is a full run and half higher than it is on the road and in his last two starts in New York he has allowed 14 runs in just 8 innings. Both teams have something to play for as the Mets are battling for a Wild Card spot while the Dodgers are contending with the Yankees for the best record in baseball for home field advantage in the World Series. I like Los Angeles in this game. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
09-12-19 | Red Sox -144 v. Blue Jays | 7-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 15 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #917 Boston over Toronto (7:10 p.m. Thursday, September 12) The Red Sox haver already won the season series against the Blue Jays but they have dropped the last two in this series. This is the last time they will play this year and I think Boston is going to end their five game losing streak. Jhoulys Chacin will be pitching for the Red Sox and he has pitched well in the limited innings he has thrown for them. Clay Buchholz will be pitching against his former team for the first time since he was traded away from them in 2016. Buchholz is 1-2 since he returned from the disabled list and I think he will have a tough time navigating the Boston lineup that is desperate for a win. I like the Red Sox in this one. |
09-11-19 | Diamondbacks +107 v. Mets | Top | 0-9 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 21 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #955 Arizona over NY Mets (7:10 p.m. Wednesday, September 11) The Diamondbacks and Mets are separated by just a 1/2 game in the standings sitting 2 1/2 and 3 games out of the second Wild Card spot respectively. The Mets have won the first two games of this series in low scoring contests, but I think Arizona will get the job done tonight. Robbie Ray will be on the mound for the D'backs and he has always pitched well on the road. Ray has been stellar when facing the Mets in his career going 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA over four starts. Steven Matz has pitched well recently for the Mets but he hasn't had much luck when facing Arizona in his career. Matz is 1-1 with a 4.76 ERA across four starts which includes a 7-1 loss on June 2nd when he allowed 5 earned runs (2 home runs) over 6 innings. I like Arizona to get the win in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports  |
09-10-19 | Rays -131 v. Rangers | Top | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 39 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #917 Tampa Bay over Texas (8:05 p.m. Tuesday, September 10) The Rays are leading the American League Wild Card race but Oakland and Cleveland are right on their heels waiting for them to slip up. With the way Ryan Yarbrough has pitched on the road this season I don't see Tampa Bay losing this contest. Yarbrough is 9-1 with a 2.42 ERA this year on the road through 67 innings pitched (5 starts) while holding opposing hitters to a .174 batting average. Lance Lynn will be on the bump for Texas and he has been solid for most of the year, but he hasn't been as sharp lately. The Rangers have lost the last 6 games Lynn has started and he has allowed 3 earned runs or more in three of his last four starts. Tampa Bay has won five games in a row and I think they keep building to the playoffs with a win tonight. Best of Luck - DOC's Sports |
09-01-19 | Padres v. Giants -127 | 8-4 | Loss | -127 | 5 h 52 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #960 San Francisco over San Diego (4:05 p.m. Sunday, September 1) The Giants still have a slim chance of making the playoffs but they will need to win games like today if they want to keep those fading hopes alive. Jeff Samardzija will be on the mound for San Francisco and he has pitched very well recently with little to show for it. Samardzija has allowed just 6 runs over his last five starts with just one win to show for it, but I think his team will have his back today. Eric Lauer continues his up and down season but I don't t think he will have enough to beat the Giants today. I like the Giants to win today and salvage a split in this four game series. |
08-30-19 | Mets v. Phillies -145 | 11-5 | Loss | -145 | 8 h 5 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #954 Philadelphia over NY Mets (7:05 p.m. Friday, August 20) The Mets are reeling right now losing their last 6 games with their playoff chances dwindling with each loss. Aaron Nola will be on the mound and he has been pitching well as of late especially when he is at home. Nola is 6-1 with a 2.94 ERA at home this season including winning the last three times he pitched there. Zack Wheeler will be pitching for New York and he has struggled recently allowing 13 runs over his last three starts spanning 16 innings. He has faced the Phillies four times this season and the Mets have lost three of those contests. Philadelphia had and off day yesterday so I think they are going to be fresh and pick up the win. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-27-19 | Reds -150 v. Marlins | Top | 8-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 6 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #903 Cincinnati over Miami (7:10 p.m. Tuesday, August 27) The Reds have not lost to the Marlins in four games this season and I don't think that will change in tonight's game. Luis Castillo has owned his former team the three times he has faced them going 2-0 with a 0.39 ERA which includes two starts at Marlins Park. Caleb Smith will be opposing Castillo and he has had a rough August going 1-3 with a 5.66 ERA. Neither of these teams have a shot at making the playoffs so I lean towards the better team with the better starting pitcher. I like the Reds to keep their wining streak alive against the Marlins. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-26-19 | Pirates v. Phillies -123 | Top | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 7 h 19 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #954 Philadelphia over Pittsburgh (7:05 p.m. Monday, August 26) The Phillies wasted an opportunity to gain some ground in the Wild Card race by losing two of three to the last place Marlins over the weekend, but I think they will take it out on the Pirates tonight. Jason Vargas has pitched well for Philadelphia for the most part in his four starts, but doesn't have much to show for it. I think Vargas is going to pick up his first win for his new ballclub and it will help that Bryce Harper is going to return from the paternity list. Joe Musgrove hasn't been very good in four August starts as his ERA is 7.71 over those contests and I think he is catching the Phillies at the wrong time. I like Philadelphia in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-19-19 | Nationals -114 v. Pirates | Top | 13-0 | Win | 100 | 8 h 45 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #901 Washington over Pittsburgh (7:05 p.m. Monday, August 19) The Nationals are playing some of their best baseball of their season winning nine of their last twelve and I think they will keep it rolling in this one. Joe Ross has had a great three game stretch run, winning all three starts and allowing just one run over 18 innings. Two of those starts were on the road and I think he can limit a Pirates team that has struggled to build any momentum this season. Trevor Williams has an ERA over 6 at home this season and he has allowed 11 earned runs over his last two starts. I don't think this bodes well for Pittsburgh as the Nationals have been swinging the bats really well and I like Washington to pick up the win. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-16-19 | Cubs -138 v. Pirates | 2-3 | Loss | -138 | 8 h 54 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #955 Chicago (NL) over Pittsburgh (7:05 p.m. Friday, August 16) The Cubs are now tied with the Cardinals for the National League Central lead after getting swept in a 3 game series against the Phillies. I think they will bounce back today and pick up a win against the last place Pirates. Kyle Hendricks hasn't been great on the road but he is 2-2 with a 3.34 ERA over seven career starts at PNC Park and I think he can limit a Pittsburgh lineup that lacks a lot of firepower. Joe Musgrove has an ERA of 5.40 in 12 starts at home this season and he has allowed 13 earned runs in his last two starts in Pittsburgh. The Cubs need a win and I think they will get one tonight. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-15-19 | Mets v. Braves -120 | Top | 10-8 | Loss | -120 | 8 h 55 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #908 Atlanta over NY Mets (7:20 p.m. Thursday, August 15) The Mets went on a serious run over the past couple of weeks and took advantage of playing against some of the weaker teams in baseball, but it has been a different story facing the Braves. Atlanta took the first two games of this series against New York and I think they are going to complete the sweep tonight. Julio Teheran has pitched really well over his last 7 starts going 2-1 with a 1.91 ERA allowing more than 2 earned runs just once. Teheran is notorious for pitching better at home than on the road and his ERA is a run and a half lower at home this season. Marcus Stroman will be on the bump for the Mets and he has allowed 7 earned runs on 16 hits over 10.1 innings in his first two starts for New York. I think Stroman is going to have a difficult time navigating the Atlanta lineup that is playing well right now. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-14-19 | Cubs v. Phillies -115 | Top | 1-11 | Win | 100 | 8 h 6 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #956 Philadelphia over Chicago (NL) (7:05 p.m. Wednesday, August 14) Philadelphia and Chicago both have playoff aspirations and are separated by 3 games in the standings so these games are very important. The Phillies won last night and with the way Aaron Nola has pitched at home this season I think they will take game 2 of this series as well. Nola is 5-1 with a 3.07 ERA across 15 starts at home this season and he has won the last two starts there. Cole Hamels hasn't been as sharp on the road as he is when he pitches at home this season and he wasn't at his best when he faced the Phillies on May 22nd only lasting 4 innings while allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. I like the Phillies in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-12-19 | Reds v. Nationals -103 | 6-7 | Win | 100 | 8 h 46 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #952 Washington over Cincinnati (7:05 p.m. Monday, August 12) Washington was able to escape New York with a win against the Mets after blowing leads late in the first two games of the series. They will look to keep it going against the Reds as they return to Washington with Erick Fedde on the mound. Fedde has bounced back and forth between being a starter and the bullpen this season and allowed 2 runs over 4 innings against the Reds on June 1st of a 5-2 Nationals win. Anthony DeSclafani's ERA is a full run higher on the road as compared to when he pitches at home and I think the Nationals will play better in D.C. and pick up the win in the first game of this series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-09-19 | Royals -133 v. Tigers | 2-5 | Loss | -133 | 8 h 39 m | Show
5-Unit Play. Take #923 Kansas City over Detroit (7:10 p.m. Friday, August 9) It seems crazy to me with the rebuilding that the Tigers are doing that they don't have a pitcher in their farm system that they want to give a shot or take a closer look at rather than have Edwin Jackson make a start for them. Jackson was absolutely awful for the Blue Jays this season in the 8 appearances he made for them with an ERA over 11, a batting average against of .380, and Toronto going 1-7 over those contests. Detroit needed to use four relievers in last night's contest because starter Matt Boyd lasted just 2.2 innings so Jackson may need to stay out longer if and when he struggles. Brad Keller has been in a nice groove for Kansas City as of late with an ERA under 2.50 over his last six starts allowing more than 2 earned runs in just one of those starts. Kansas City let a lead get away from them multiple times in last night's game but I don't think that will happen tonight. Take the Royals here. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-07-19 | White Sox -115 v. Tigers | 8-1 | Win | 100 | 2 h 19 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #915 Chicago (AL) over Detroit (1:10 p.m. Wednesday, August 7) Ivan Nova has never beaten the Detroit Tigers in his career but I think today is the day he finally breaks through and gets it done. Nova has been fantastic over his last three starts, all White Sox wins, going 2-0 allowing just two earned runs over 20 innings and Nova always seems to pitch better as the season goes on. Detroit traded away one of its best players in Nick Castellanos at the trade deadline which hurt an already below average lineup. Rookie Tyler Alexander is still in search of his first major league win and is coming off back to back losses where he allowed 4 earned runs in each. The White Sox are a better team winning seven of the eleven matchups so far between these two teams and I think they get another win before they head out of town. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
08-03-19 | Blue Jays v. Orioles +108 | 4-6 | Win | 108 | 7 h 28 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #916 Baltimore over Toronto (7:05 p.m. Saturday, August 3) The Blue Jays have won six games in a row but I think their winning streak is going to come to an end. Dylan Bundy has fared well against the Blue Jays in his career going 4-3 with a 3.23 ERA and I think he will come through and deliver a solid performance tonight. Thomas Pannone will be pitching for Toronto and he has been brutal on the road this season going 0-3 with a 7.89 ERA over 21.2 innings as he has been a starter and used out of the bullpen. Neither team is going to make the playoffs this season but I think the Orioles will bounce back after losing the first two games of this series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-28-19 | Diamondbacks -155 v. Marlins | 1-5 | Loss | -155 | 2 h 46 m | Show
2-Unit Play. Take #903 Arizona over Miami (1:10 p.m. Sunday, July 28) Tensions will be running a little high in the rubber match of this three game series after Christian Walker was beaned for a second time in yesterday's game and the benches cleared. I think the biggest way the Diamondbacks can hurt the Marlins is by letting Robbie Ray do his thing and pick up the win. Trade rumors have been swirling around Ray who has not allowed many runs when facing Miami as his ERA is 2.28 over four starts against the Fish. Elieser Henrnadez will be on the mound for Miami and he has bounced back and forth between being a starter and working out of the bullpen this year. Hernandez hasn't been particularly effective at either one as his ERA is 5.24 across 34.1 innings and I think Arizona's offense will beat up on him. Take the D'backs in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-26-19 | Tigers v. Mariners -130 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 34 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #928 Seattle over Detroit (10:10 p.m. Friday, July 26) No one is going to make the mistake of saying this is going to be a great pitching matchup as both of the starting pitchers have had their share of struggles. Daniel Norris hasn't picked up a victory since May 12th and has an ERA just under 6 over 12 starts. Additionally, Norris has never beaten the Mariners going 0-2 with a 5.79 ERA in 5 career starts and I think Seattle's offense will carry the momentum they have built up in the past couple of games. Yusei Kikuchi will be on the mound for the Mariners and he has won just once in his last 10 starts, but he has never faced the Tigers so I think that will be an advantage he will be able to exploit. I think Seattle keeps their winning streak going and gets the win. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-25-19 | Indians -144 v. Royals | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 15 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #961 Cleveland over Kansas City(8:15 p.m. Thursday, July 25) Adam Plutko has been really good against the Royals in two starts but he doesn't have a win to show for it, but I think the third time will be the charm for him. Plutko has held Kansas City to a .083 batting average allowing two earned runs on three hits over eleven innings and I think he can be just as good in this one. His offense hasn't given him to much run support but the Indians have been coming up with the big hits recently and I think they will come through for Plutko today. Mike Montgomery will be starting for Kansas City and it will be just his second start he will be making this season. He pitched out of the bullpen for the Cubs this season before being traded a couple of weeks ago so he will most likely be on a pitch count as he lasted just two innings in his first start. I think the Indians keep it rolling in this one and get the win. |
07-24-19 | Indians -124 v. Blue Jays | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 4 h 45 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #917 Cleveland over Toronto (7:10 p.m. Wednesday, July 24) There is a lot on the line for both teams in tonight's matchup for different reasons. The Indians have been balling lately going 29-12 since June 4 to climb to within three games behind Minnesota for the American League Central lead. They need to win games like these and series like this if they want to keep their push for the playoffs going. The Blue Jays have no chance to make the playoffs but they can keep building for their future by making some trades at the deadline. Scheduled starter Marcus Stroman has been rumored to be moved and can bring in some nice prospects. Stroman has been pitching well lately but I think the Indians are going to keep it going and pick up the win. Shane Bieber will be on the bump for Cleveland and he is 6-2 with a 3.19 ERA in 9 starts on the road which is a full run lower than at home. Take Cleveland in this one. |
07-23-19 | Padres -131 v. Mets | Top | 2-5 | Loss | -131 | 8 h 25 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #955 San Diego over NY Mets (7:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 23) The flight home from San Francisco was going to be grueling enough for the Mets, but the fact that they dropped a third game out of four to the Giants on the way out had to make the flight even worse. Things aren't going to get any easier when they show up to the ballpark tonight when the Mets have to face Chris Paddack who has been lights out recently. Paddack has allowed 2 earned runs over his last 19.1 innings which has resulted in three wins for the Padres. Paddack shut out the Mets earlier this season over 7.2 innings allowing just 4 hits in a 4-0 win and I think he will deliver a similar performance in tonight's contest. Jason Vargas will be on the mound for New York and he picked up a win his last time out, but that was more because his offense backed him up with 14 runs. Vargas has allowed 12 earned runs over his last three starts spanning 16.1 innings and I think the San Diego offense will do some damage against him tonight. I think the Dads in this one. Best of Luck - Strike Point Sports |
07-22-19 | Cardinals -110 v. Pirates | 6-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 25 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #903 St. Louis over Pittsburgh (7:05 p.m. Monday, July 22) These two teams met just last week with the Cardinals taking two of three from them and they have been going in opposite directions since the All Star break. The Cardinals have scored 49 runs and went 7-3 since the All-Star break and they have Daniel Ponce de Leon taking the hill who has been impressive since being called up. Ponce de Leon owns a 2.80 ERA across 35.1 innings while holding opponents to a .187 batting average. Trevor Williams will have the ball for Pittsburgh and he has bee brutal since coming off the injured list going 1-2 with a 9.53 ERA over four starts. Williams hasn't fared well against St. Louis in his career and with the way the Cardinals have been playing lately I don't see that changing in this one. Take St. Louis. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-20-19 | Brewers v. Diamondbacks -136 | Top | 8-3 | Loss | -136 | 9 h 37 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #912 Arizona over Milwaukee (8:10 p.m. Saturday, July 20) Most of the time I wouldn't have a lot of faith in Gio Gonzalez but I have even less confidence in him now that he is making his first start since May 27th due to arm fatigue. I also think the Diamondbacks have the advantage in this one with Zack Greinke being on the mound. Greinke was not at his best his last time out when he yielded 5 runs over 6 innings at St. Louis in a 5-2 loss, but I think he will fare better at home against the Brewers who he hasn't faced this season. The Brewers bullpen will be counted on tonight as Gonzalez won't last long but they used 4 relievers in last nights contest so I think that will be a factor as well. These teams split the first two games of this series and are separated by just a 1/2 game in the standings and I like the home team to pick up the win. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-17-19 | Pirates v. Cardinals -134 | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 2 h 55 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #952 St. Louis over Pittsburgh (1:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 17) Things have been pretty even with the Pirates and Cardinals this year as they both have beaten each other 4 times and the Cardinals are just 1.5 games up on the Pirates in the standings. I think the Cardinals are going to win tonight to win this series and take the lead in the season series. Chris Archer hasn't been very good for most of this season as he is 3-6 with a 5.42 ERA and I think the St. Louis offense is going to give him fits today. Daniel Ponce de Leon has been very good in his three starts at home this year allowing just 2 earned runs over 17.2 innings while holding opponents to a .121 average. St. Louis is a better team and I think they will prove that in this contest. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-06-19 | Cardinals v. Giants -120 | Top | 4-8 | Win | 100 | 11 h 33 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #908 San Francisco over St. Louis (10:05 p.m. Saturday, July 6) There have been plenty of rumors that Madison Bumgarner could be traded before the trade deadline so this could be an audition of sorts for him. He will be facing a Cardinals team that hasn't been playing their best ball and will be without one of their best players as Marcell Ozuna is still on a rehab assignment. Miles Mikolas will be pitching for St. Louis and he hasn't been able to recapture his pitching form that led him to 18 wins last season. The Giants lost last night's contest but I think they are going to bounce back in this game and even up the series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-05-19 | Orioles v. Blue Jays -125 | 4-1 | Loss | -125 | 8 h 56 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #964 Toronto over Baltimore (7:10 p.m. Friday, July 5) The Blue Jays and Orioles have both struggled this year as they are both in the midst of rebuilding. The Jays have some promising young players that they have called up including Vladimir Guerrero Jr and Cavan Biggio. Aaron Sanchez is in desperate need of a good start as he hasn't won a game since April 27th. Facing the Orioles could help as Sanchez is 6-3 with a 3.90 ERA over 18 appearances (13 starts) against them in his career. Dylan Bundy will be pitching for Baltimore and he hasn't been very good for most of the season. Bundy went 1-4 with a 5.68 ERA over 5 starts in June and I think his struggles will continue in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-04-19 | Twins -131 v. A's | 2-7 | Loss | -131 | 6 h 43 m | Show
7-Unit Play. Take #915 Minnesota over Oakland (4:10 p.m. Thursday, July 4) The Twins have a big advantage in the rubber match of this series between teams who both have playoff aspirations and its with the starting pitching. Jose Berrios will be on the mound making his final start before he heads to the All star game. Berrios had an ERA of 2.06 in five starts in June allowing 2 earned runs or fewer in four of those starts. Tanner Anderson will be making his fifth start for the A's and Oakland has lost his four previous starts. Anderson has allowed 14 earned runs over 17.2 innings and he will have to be careful facing the offense that has scored the most runs in the American League. I think the Twins head back to Minnesota after taking the rubber match of this series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
07-03-19 | Tigers v. White Sox -139 | 5-7 | Win | 100 | 3 h 7 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #982 Chicago (AL) over Detroit (2:10 p.m. Wednesday, July 3) The White Sox fans get to finally see what the hype is all about as Dylan Cease is going to be making his major league debut today. Cease is being brought up to help bolster a pitching staff that hasn't had much behind All-Star Lucas Giolito. It will help that Cease is facing Detroit who has scored the fewest runs in all of baseball. The Tigers have gone 1-9 in their last 10 games and will send Daniel Norris to the mound. Norris has had success against the White Sox in the past, but he has struggled recently. He had an ERA over 5 in six June starts and hasn't won a game since May 12th and I think he will struggle in this matchup. I like Chicago in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
06-30-19 | Phillies -129 v. Marlins | 13-6 | Win | 100 | 2 h 40 m | Show
2-Unit Play. Take #901 Philadelphia over Miami (1:10 p.m. Sunday, June 30) The Marlins have had the Phillies number recently beating them five straight times, but I think that is going to come to an end today. Jake Arrieta has already beaten Miami twice this season and I think he can come through for them again. Arrieta hasn't been spectacular recently but the Phillies have won three out of his last four starts and I think they get out of Miami with a win. Trevor Richards was rocked in his only start against the Phillies this season allowing 5 runs on 6 hits (2 home runs) in a 12-9 loss. Philadelphia snaps their losing skid to the Marlins in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
06-29-19 | Diamondbacks -138 v. Giants | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 56 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #961 Arizona over San Francisco (10:05 p.m. Saturday, June 29) Arizona doesn't have any time to waste if they are going to get back into the Wild card or divisional race. Having Zack Greinke take the mound certainly doesn't hurt, especially when he is facing the Giants in San Francisco. Greinke has never lost in San Francisco in seven starts as he is 5-0 with a 1.37 ERA and I think he can have similar success in this one. Drew Pomeranz had a season best 11 strikeouts his last time out, but he has been mostly bad this season as his ERA stands at 6.79. I like the Diamondbacks in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
06-28-19 | Cubs -109 v. Reds | 3-6 | Loss | -109 | 8 h 12 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #901 Chicago (NL) over Cincinnati (7:10 p.m. Friday, June 28) The Cubs are in first place in the National League Central while the Reds are in last place, but just a mere 6.5 games behind them. Cole Hamels has been fantastic in his 5 June starts going 2-1 with a 1.00 ERA and furthermore he has dominated the Reds in his career. Hamels is 11-1 with a 1.91 ERA across 17 starts he has made against Cincinnati in his career and I think he can lead the Cubs to a victory in this one. Sonny Gray has an ERA of 4.50 against Chicago over two starts and the Cubs got a recent boost with Craig Kimbrel picking up a save in last night's contest. I think Chicago picks up the win in game 1 of this series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
06-27-19 | Rangers -114 v. Tigers | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 2 h 46 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #961 Texas over Detroit (1:10 p.m. Thursday, June 27) The Rangers are holding their own the American League West and sit 5.5 games behind the Astros for first place. They have taken the first two games of this series in Detroit and I think they can finish off the sweep today. Spencer Turnbull has had a fine rookie season for the Tigers, but he hasn't figured it out yet pitching in Detroit. Turnbull is 0-5 with a 4.89 ERA in 9 starts at Comerica Park and I think he will leave this game without a win as well. Ariel Jurado will be starting for Texas and he should be able to get some out against one of the worst offenses in baseball. Texas gets it done. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
06-22-19 | Mets v. Cubs -127 | 10-2 | Loss | -127 | 3 h 9 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #902 Chicago (NL) over N.Y. Mets (2:20 p.m. Saturday, June 22) The Cubs sit atop the National League Central and I think they will add another win to their total after this one. Jose Quintana will be pitching for Chicago and he has pitched well in front of the home crowd this season. Quintana is 3-3 with a 2.98 ERA and has allowed just one home run over 45.1 innings pitched at Wrigley. Zack Wheeler hasn't been very good in June as he is 0-2 with a 6.11 ERA in three starts allowing 5 home runs across 17.2 innings and I feel like someone will take him deep for the Cubs in this matchup. The Cubs are 26-13 at Wrigley Field and I think they bounce back after losing last night's game. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
06-19-19 | Brewers -107 v. Padres | 7-8 | Loss | -107 | 5 h 58 m | Show
7-Unit Play. Take #951 Milwaukee over San Diego (3:40 p.m. Wednesday, June 19) This recent road trip hasn't gone the way the Brewers would of liked as they are 2-5 currently, but a win before they head back to Milwaukee could make the flight home a little easier. The Brewers have really struggled in the first two games of this series against the Padres scoring just one run, but I think that will change in today's matchup. Matt Strahm is 1-2 with a 5.60 ERA in 5 starts at Petco Park this season and he has lost his last three starts yielding 16 runs over 13.2 innings, allowing 2 home runs in each of those starts. Zach Davies seems like the perfect guy to lead the Brewers to a win as he has had a great season so far going 7-1 with a 2.60 ERA over 14 starts. Davies has dominated the Padres when pitching in San Diego winning all three starts there with a shiny 1.93 ERA. I like the Brewers to get out of town with a win. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
06-17-19 | Mets v. Braves -149 | 3-12 | Win | 100 | 8 h 5 m | Show
10-Unit Play. Take #954 Atlanta over NY Mets (7:20 p.m. Monday, June 17) If anyone on the Braves was allowed to have a bad start it was Mike Soroka as he allowed 5 earned runs over 5 innings his last time out. It was just the second time all season Soroka had allowed more than 1 earned run over the 11 starts he has made. Soroka is 2-0 with a 0.73 ERA against the Mets in two starts and I think he will bounce back and come through for Atlanta. He may not have to do much with the way the Braves are playing seeing how they have won nine of their last ten games. Zack Wheeler will be on the bump for New York and he is very familiar with the Braves having made 11 starts against them in his career. Wheeler hasn't faced them this season and he has struggled on the road going 2-3 with a 5.48 ERA. I think the Braves keep it rolling and pick up another in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
06-14-19 | Indians -150 v. Tigers | Top | 13-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 9 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #919 Cleveland over Detroit (7:10 p.m. Friday, June 14) Game of the Week. Cleveland came in with high expectations again this season but have scuffled due to injuries and inconsistent play. Playing against the Tigers could help turn things around and give them some momentum as the All-Star break nears. The Indians took two of three games from Detroit earlier this season and I think they will win this matchup. Adam Plutko has been sharp in two of his three starts allowing two runs or fewer and I think he can limit a Tigers team that ranks in the bottom of most offensive categories. Ryan Carpenter has been brutal when pitching at home this season going 1-3 with a 10.53 ERA over four starts allowing 7 home runs across 19.2 innings. I like the Indians to take the first game of this series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
06-13-19 | Diamondbacks -118 v. Nationals | 5-0 | Win | 100 | 8 h 41 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #953 Arizona over Washington (7:05 p.m. Thursday, June 13) Arizona and Washington need all the wins they can get as they both try to stay in the divisional race in their respective divisions. I think Arizona is going to get the win with Zack Greinke scheduled to pitch tonight. Greinke has been dominant against the Nationals in his career going 5-1 with a 1.46 ERA across eight starts, and with the way he has been pitching this season I think he can have similar results. Erick Fedde has pitched out of the bullpen for Washington but he has also made five starts. He hasn't been as effective as a starter and I think the Diamondbacks will be able to produce off him. I like Arizona in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
06-12-19 | Padres -126 v. Giants | 2-4 | Loss | -126 | 10 h 21 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #909 San Diego over San Francisco (9:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 12) The Padres are looking to salvage a series split as they made a quick two game trip to San Francisco and I think Joey Lucchesi will help them do that. Lucchesi has faced the Giants twice this season going 1-1 and I think he will be on the right side of this one. He will be opposed by rookie Shaun Anderson who has struggled in 3 starts at AT&T Park going 0-1 with a 4.80 ERA. The Padres have taken five of the eight matchups these teams have played so far this season and I think they will get another win in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
06-08-19 | Braves -139 v. Marlins | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 6 h 57 m | Show
2-Unit Play. Take #905 Atlanta over Miami (4:10 p.m. Saturday, June 8) Atlanta has beaten up the Marlins this season going 6-1 against them and I think they will win this matchup as well. Julio Teheran has been rolling over his last 6 starts allowing just three runs with the Braves going 5-1 over those contests. One of those games was against Miami when Teheran allowed just two hits over 6 innings in a 3-1 Atlanta win. Trevor Richards will be on the bump for the Marlins and he will have his hands full with the Braves lineup led by Freddie Freeman. Richards has faced Atlanta twice in his career without much success as his ERA is over 5 in those contests. I like the Braves to continue their dominance over the Marlins and pick up another victory. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
06-03-19 | Phillies -136 v. Padres | 2-8 | Loss | -136 | 11 h 4 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #953 Philadelphia over San Diego (10:10 p.m. Monday, June 3) The Phillies have lost four games in a row but I think they will break that streak when their ace takes the mound tonight. Aaron Nola got off to a slow start to his season but he has been impressive as of late going 4-0 with a 2.96 ERA in his last 5 contests. Bryce Harper has started to swing the bat better recently and that will only help Philadelphia. The Phillies also made a move to beef up their outfield by trading for Jay Bruce over the weekend. Eric Lauer will be on the mound for the Padres and he has looked better in his most recent starts, but I think he will have a tough time against a team that is desperate for a win. I like the Phillies here. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
06-01-19 | Astros -150 v. A's | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 11 h 38 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #973 Houston over Oakland (10:10 p.m. Saturday, June 1) The Astros have won five out of the six games played against Oakland this season and with the success Justin Verlander has had against the A's in the past I think they will add another victory. Verlander is 12-6 with a 2.73 ERA in 20 career starts against the Athletics and even though Houston is short handed I think Verlander will lead them to a win. Brett Anderson has not had much luck against the Astros as he is 1-3 with a 6.97 in four starts in his career. I think Houston continues their dominance against the A's and wins this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
05-28-19 | Royals v. White Sox -148 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 46 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #970 Chicago (AL) over Kansas City (8:10 p.m. Tuesday, May 28) Lucas Giolito has put it together this year and is finally making good on the promise he has shown. He has been rolling this month going 4-0 with a 1.35 ERA across 5 starts allowing one run or fewer in four out of those five starts. He has never lost to the Royals going 4-0 in eight starts and I think he will pick up another win tonight. Kansas City has struggled on the road this season going 7-17 and they will send Brad Keller to the mound. Keller beat the White Sox on Opening Day but he hasn't been very good over his last four starts with an ERA over 5 and the Royals losing three out of those contests. I think Giolito keeps it going and leads the White Sox to another victory. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
05-24-19 | Padres -111 v. Blue Jays | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 42 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #975 San Diego over Toronto (7:05 p.m. Friday, May 24) Toronto is going to do something no other team has done in major league baseball history when they call up Cavan Biggio for tonight's game. When Biggio plays tonight with fellow rookie Vladimir Guerrero Jr it will be the first time two sons of Hall of Fame players will be playing together on the same team. Although it is pretty cool for the Blue Jays to do this, I don't think it will result in a win for them. The Padres are feeling good about themselves after sweeping the Diamondbacks and Joey Lucchesi has an ERA of 3.12 over his last three starts. The Blue Jays have been dreadful at home recently losing nine of their last eleven games at the Rogers Centre and scheduled starter Trent Thornton is 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA in 5 starts in Toronto. I like the Fathers to keep their winning streak going in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
05-22-19 | Mariners -116 v. Rangers | 1-2 | Loss | -116 | 3 h 17 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #965 Seattle over Texas (2:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 22) The Rangers have won the last four times these teams have played but I think that streak will come to an end. Marco Gonzales will be on the mound for the Mariners and he was dominant when he pitched against the Rangers on April 25th shutting out Texas over 7 innings while striking out 9 in a 14-2 win. Jesse Chavez will start the game for Texas but he won't last long as he has been a reliever for most of the season and hasn't pitched more than 2 innings in any game. Seattle has dropped a couple of close games in the first two games of this series but I think they get out of town and avoid the sweep with a win. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
05-21-19 | Reds v. Brewers -133 | 3-0 | Loss | -133 | 9 h 34 m | Show
7-Unit Play. Take #908 Milwaukee over Cincinnati (7:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 21) Gio Gonzalez wasn't on a team to start the year but things worked out where he was signed by the team where he finished last season and it has worked out beautifully. Gonzalez has been impressive in his four starts for Milwaukee going 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA, not allowing more than two earned runs in any of those starts. Gonzalez has a winning record against the Reds in his 12 career starts with an ERA under 3 and I think he can take advantage of a team that has struggled in games away from Cincinnati. Sonny Gray is still in search of his first win and I think it will be difficult against a Milwaukee team that has the second best home record in the National League. Gray has had some good chances to win games this season but he has struggled in his last three outings with an ERA of 5.65 without any decisions over that time. Milwaukee swept the Reds in a three game series earlier in the year and I think they will take game 1 of this series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
05-20-19 | Braves -130 v. Giants | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 30 m | Show
5-Unit Play. Take #955 Atlanta over San Francisco (9:45 p.m. Monday, May 20) Atlanta had a long flight to stew about dropping the final game of a three game set to the Brewers, but I think they will be able to bounce back in the first game of this series against the Giants. Mike Soroka has been everything the Braves could of asked for and more so far this season. Soroka has allowed more than 1 run in just one of the six starts he has made this season and he is 2-0 with a 0.96 ERA in three starts on the road. As good as Soroka has been on the mound, I'm sure he would like a little more run support as they Braves offense has averaged only 2.8 runs in his starts. I think Atlanta's offense could be more productive tonight against scheduled starter Andrew Suarez who will be making his first start in the majors this year. Suarez went 7-13 with a 4.49 ERA last year for San Francisco but he has an ERA over 6 in Triple-A this year and I think he will have his hands full tonight with the Braves dangerous lineup. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
05-17-19 | Giants v. Diamondbacks -142 | Top | 0-7 | Win | 100 | 11 h 54 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #912 Arizona over San Francisco (9:40 p.m. Friday, May 17) This is the first time these two National League West Rivals will be meeting each other this season with Arizona 5 games up on San Francisco in the standings. The Giants will get their first look at rookie right hander Merrill Kelly which I think is an advantage for Kelly. Kelly has been up and down in his first season with the D'backs but he has been better when pitching at home where his ERA is 3 runs lower than it is on the road. Jeff Samardzija has faced the Diamondbacks plenty of times in his career and has an ERA over 4 in those matchups. He has been prone to giving up home runs on the road this season allowing 6 in 20.1 innings pitched with an ERA of 4.43 and with the way Arizona has been swinging the bats I think some balls could leave the ballpark in this one. I like the D'backs to take the first game of the season between these two. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
05-16-19 | Rangers v. Royals -101 | 16-1 | Loss | -101 | 2 h 52 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take 964 Kansas City over Texas (1:15 p.m. Thursday, May 16) The Royals have not won the rubber match of any of the three games series they have played so far this season but I think they will get it done in this one. Homer Bailey has been sharp winning his last two starts allowing three earned runs over 11 innings and I think he can continue that success today. Lance Lynn will take the mound for the Rangers and he is 1-1 in his last two starts but he has allowed 8 earned runs over those 13 innings. The Royals failed to come through with the clutch hits last night with runners in scoring position but I think they will today. Kansas City has had more success at home this season and I think they will add to that tonight. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
05-13-19 | Angels v. Twins -128 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -128 | 9 h 9 m | Show |
10-Unit Play. Take #910 Minnesota over LA Angels (7:40 p.m. Monday, May 12) The Twins have been getting some great efforts by their starting pitchers recently and I expect Jose Berrios to deliver another solid performance in tonight's matchup. Berrios has won his last five starts going at least 6 innings in each of those and he has been filthy at home this season winning all four starts behind a 1.98 ERA. Nelson Cruz probably won't be in the lineup tonight for the Twins as he left last night's contest with a wrist injury, but Minnesota has been getting contributions all throughout their lineup this season and I think they can have success against Los Angeles starter Tyler Skaggs. Skaggs hasn't been very effective on the road this season as he is 1-3 with a 6.38 ERA across four starts and Minnesota is 6 games over .500 at home on the season. The Twins are 7-1 in the games Berrios has started this year and I think they will find a way to get it done in this matchup as well. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
05-08-19 | Twins -105 v. Blue Jays | 9-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 26 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #969 Minnesota over Toronto (7:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 8) The Twins are off to a great start to their season and they are sitting atop the American League Central looking to finish off a sweep of the Blue Jays. Their offense has been good but their pitching has been awesome, especially the past two games where they have not allowed a run against Toronto. The Blue Jays offense has been struggling mightily recently scoring just 16 runs over their last 8 contests and this bodes well for Kyle Gibson who hasn't been so sharp this season. Gibson has allowed 2 earned runs or fewer in his last three starts and I think he can take advantage of how bad the Jays have been at the plate. Trent Thornton is still looking for his first win on the season and I don't think he will get it tonight as he is 0-2 with a 5.00 ERA in four starts at home. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
05-07-19 | Angels -138 v. Tigers | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 34 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #921 LA Angels over Detroit (7:10 p.m. Tuesday, May 7) The Angels and Tigers both come into tonight's matchup just under .500 on the season as they are trying to string some wins together. Albert Pujols could enter the record books tonight with an RBI becoming just the 5th player in major league history to record 2,000 RBI. Detroit has lost the last two times Daniel Norris has started for them and he will have to be careful when facing Pujols and Mike Trout. There isn't much film on Griffin Canning as he will be making just his second career start and it should help that it is against the light hitting Tigers. I like the Angels to take game 1 of this series. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
05-06-19 | Giants v. Reds -143 | 4-12 | Win | 100 | 2 h 43 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #952 Cincinnati over San Francisco (12:35 p.m. Monday, May 6) There have been plenty of runs and fireworks so far in this series between the Giants and Reds, but I think today's contest won't be as dramatic. Anthony DeSclafini will be pitching for Cincinnati and he has been electric over his last three starts allowing just one run on 9 hits over 17.2 innings with the Reds winning all three of those contests. Drew Pomeranz will be pitching for San Francisco and he has been alright in his first season for his new club, but he has allowed at least 3 runs in two of his last three starts. The Reds have let two of the three games in this series slip through their fingers, but I don't think they let that happen in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |
05-03-19 | Royals v. Tigers -147 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 30 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #920 Detroit over Kansas City (7:10 p.m. Friday, May 3) The Tigers haven't been scoring a ton of runs this year, in fact they are the only team in the American League that have yet to score 100 runs on the season. With the way Matthew Boyd has been pitching they may not need to score a lot of runs to pick up the win. Boyd is 2-2 with a 3.13 ERA through his six starts this season and I think he will be able to maneuver his way through the Royals lineup that is just 3-10 on the road this season. The Tigers already swept the Royals in Detroit this season and Boyd didn't pitch in those matchups which I think will be an advantage for him. Jorge Lopez will be pitching for Kansas City and he has allowed 4 earned runs in each of his last three starts with two of those games coming on the road and I think Detroit can have similar success tongiht. 05-02-19 | Rays -165 v. Royals | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 2 h 8 m | Show
2-Unit Play. Take #961 Tampa Bay over Kansas City (2:15 p.m. Thursday, May 2) Tampa Bay got swept in a double header yesterday by Kansas City but I think they are going to get out of town with a win and avoid the sweep. Charlie Morton has been great in his first season with the Rays, coming into today's matchup with a 3-0 record and a 2.76 ERA through six starts. Morton has done his best work on the road as he is 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA allowing just 3 earned runs over 15.2 innings. Danny Duffy will be on the mound for the Royals making just his second start of the season and facing a Rays team that has the best run differential in all of baseball. Tampa Bay scored 2 runs in both games yesterday but I think they will be able to plate more runs in this one and get the win. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |

05-01-19 | Rockies v. Brewers -131 | 11-4 | Loss | -131 | 9 h 40 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #908 Milwaukee over Colorado (7:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 1) Milwaukee has won the first two games of this series and its in large part to Jesus Aguilar finally hitting the ball out of the park. Aguilar hadn't hit a home run before this series but he hit two in the first game and he delivered a three run bomb last night that provided the winning run. Chase Anderson will look to keep the Brewers winning streak going as he will be making his third start of the season after starting the year in the bullpen. Antonio Senzatela will be on the bump for the Rockies and he has allowed at least 3 earned runs in his last two starts and will look to slow down the high powered Milwaukee offense. I think the Brewers keep it going and pick up the win in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |

04-30-19 | Yankees v. Diamondbacks -130 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 52 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #978 Arizona over NY Yankees (9:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 30) There's going to be plenty of intrigue tonight to see if CC Sabathia can become just the third lefty to amass 3,000 strikeouts for his career. While I think he will eclipse that mark, I don't think he is going to lead his team to victory. Sabathia has lasted just 5 innings in each of his three starts this season and he was roughed up for 4 earned runs on 6 hits (3 home runs) his last time out, and I think the D'backs offense which has produced the second most runs in the NL will be able to continue that success tonight. Arizona has won the last 5 starts Zack Greinke has made and he hasn't allowed a run over his last 13 innings. I like the Diamondbacks to get it done at home in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |

04-29-19 | Dodgers -146 v. Giants | 2-3 | Loss | -146 | 11 h 6 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #909 LA Dodgers over San Francisco (9:45 p.m. Monday, April 29) The Giants and Dodgers come into tonight's contest on opposite ends of streaks and I think those streaks will continue. Los Angeles has won their last four games while San Francisco has lost their last 3 contests. Kenta Maeda owns a winning record against the Giants and I think he will deliver tonight after having a rough outing his last time out. Jeff Samardzija is off to a good start this season but he is just 1-4 with a 4.06 ERA over 8 appearances against LA and with the way the Dodgers offense is clicking right now I think he will struggle in this one. The Giants offense has been pathetic this season batting just .210 collectively and I think they will be hard pressed to score some runs in this one. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |

04-26-19 | Reds v. Cardinals -143 | 12-1 | Loss | -143 | 9 h 18 m | Show
7-Unit Play. Take #960 St. Louis over Cincinnati (8:15 p.m. Friday, April 26) The Cardinals come into tonight's contest playing some of their best baseball of the season and riding a 5 game winning streak after sweeping their division rival Milwaukee Brewers. They welcome another divisional foe in the Reds and will send Miles Mikolas to the mound who looks like he is rounding into form. Mikolas has gone at least 5 innings in each of his starts this season and his most recent one was his best when he went 8 innings and yielded just four hits and 2 runs in defeating the Mets 10-2. Antony Desclafani will have the ball for Cinci and he hasn't had much luck as the Reds have won just one of his last nine starts he has made dating back to last season. He hasn't been very good when pitching in Busch Stadium as he is 2-2 with a with a 4.32 ERA in 5 starts. Desclafani will have his hands full with the Cardinals lineup that has a lot of guys seeing the ball really well right now. I like the St. Louis to get it done in this one. 04-24-19 | Diamondbacks v. Pirates -115 | 11-2 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 56 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #958 Pittsburgh over Arizona (7:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 24) The Pittsburgh coaching staff has made it a thing in the past couple of years to turn mediocre veteran pitchers into highly effective ones and Jordan Lyles is the one this season. Lyles has allowed only one run through his first three starts this season and has allowed only 10 hits over the 17 innings he has pitched. The Pirates will face Merrill Kelly who has allowed at least 3 runs in three out of the four starts he has made in his first season in the majors. Arizona has taken the first two games of this series but I think the Pirates will be able to end that streak by getting to Kelly and Lyles shutting them down. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |

04-23-19 | Braves -107 v. Reds | 6-7 | Loss | -107 | 8 h 49 m | Show
4-Unit Play. Take #901 Atlanta over Cincinnati (6:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 23) Atlanta is riding a 2 game win streak after taking the last two games against the Indians and I think they can keep the streak going against the Reds. Kevin Gausman has been great for the Braves since he came over last year at the trade deadline and he is off to a stellar start this year. Gausman is 1-1 with a 2.75 ERA and he has held opponents to a .141 batting average through his first three starts this season. Runs could be hard to come by for Cincinnati especially since they have provided starter Sonny Gray with just two runs of support wile he has been on the mound. Gray has lost both of his starts against the Braves in his career and I don't think things will end up in his favor in this one. Take the Braves. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |

04-22-19 | Phillies +104 v. Mets | 1-5 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 31 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #953 Philadelphia over NY Mets (7:10 p.m. Monday, April 22) Philadelphia holds a one game lead over the Mets in the National League East and I think they will extend that lead with a win tonight. The Phillies took two out of three games from the Mets last week and Jake Arrieta picked up one of those wins. Arrieta is off to a great start this season carrying a 3-1 record with a 2.25 ERA and going at least 7 innings in 3 consecutive starts. Steven Matz will be on the bump for New York and he was solid in his first three starts to the season but it was a different story when he faced the Phillies his last time out. Matz did not get a Phillie hitter out an allowed 8 runs (6 earned) on 4 hits (2 home runs). I don't think it will be as bad this time out but I don't think last time was a complete fluke and I expect the Philadelphia lineup to put up some runs on him in this one and get the win. Best of Luck - Doc's Sports |

04-20-19 | Reds v. Padres +104 | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 45 m | Show
3-Unit Play. Take #964 San Diego over Cincinnati (8:40 p.m. Saturday, April 20) The Reds had lost all seven road games this season until taking the last two from the Padres to open this series but I think their little winning streak is about to end. Eric Lauer will be pitching for San Diego tonight and he allowed just one run while striking out 12 Reds in two appearances against them last season and I think he can do the same against their offense that is not putting up many runs right now. Luis Castillo has been dynamite for Cincinnati so far this season but the Padres rocked him in two starts last season. Castillo lost both starts against San Diego last year allowing 11 hits, 4 of which were home runs, over 9.2 innings and I think the Padres will have similar success tonight.
