Week 5 Pointspreads & Handicappers Insight

Let’s see if we can get back on track this week as we take a look at all games on the schedule and the odds that accompany them.

Thursday, October 2

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers
Week 2 Point Spread: Packers -10

The Vikings rallied around their rookie QB but had the honor of playing against a horrid defense in Week 4. The Packers look to be back on track and Christian Ponder may start at QB for Minnesota who is just 1-7-1 in their last nine games at Green Bay.

Time to roll with the Pack.

Sunday, October 5

Chicago Bears at Carolina Panthers
Week 2 Point Spread: Bears +2.5

Carolina’s defense is nowhere near where it needs to be at this point of the season – look for the Bears to take advantage. Chicago’s offense has been clicking despite two losses – I can’t imagine Carolina’s OK offense keeping up in this one.

Cleveland Browns at Tennessee Titans
Week 2 Point Spread: Browns +2

We’re not sure who will starts at QB for the Titans but we do know that is likely won’t matter. Tennessee isn’t that great folks while, despite a 1-2 record, Cleveland has looked competitive each and every week. Out of their bye, Cleveland emerges victorious.

St. Louis Rams at Philadelphia Eagles
Week 2 Point Spread: Eagles -7

Expect the Eagles to be an angry bunch Sunday against a team that hasn’t looked great this year. Something tells me that LeSean McCoy explodes Sunday and the Eagles post the easy win.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints
Week 2 Point Spread: Saints -10.5

The Saints are a different team at home – no doubt. And they have to be! New Orleans has won nine straight games at the Dome and should do so again this week – 8-1 ATS over that span. I am expecting Drew Brees to tear apart what looks like a weak secondary for Tampa and while I don’t love the 10.5 points, I like the Saints to finally put it all together this week.

Atlanta Falcons at New York Giants
Week 2 Point Spread: Giants -4

Eli Manning looks like he’s back after his best game in years in Week 4. The Falcons have been absolutely brutal on the road – last week’s loss to Minnesota opened my eyes. Atlanta’s defense is a gift for any opposing offense – New York’s included.

[dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Houston Texans at Dallas Cowboys
Week 2 Point Spread: Cowboys -4

The Dallas Cowboys are on a roll – offensively and defensively. Expect Dallas to score a ton this week as they have done in three of the four weeks this season and the Ryan Fitzpatrick led Texans to have a very difficult time keeping up.

Buffalo Bills at Detroit Lions
Week 2 Point Spread: Lions -7

Kyle Orton will make his first start for the Bills this week in place of the benched EJ Manuel – yuk! The Lions offense will be WAY too much in this one – no way the Bills will be able to keep up. The Lions make it three straight double digit wins at home!

Baltimore Ravens at Indianapolis Colts
Week 2 Point Spread:  Colts -3

I love the way Baltimore is playing right now – they are emerging as one of the more well rounded teams in the AFC. But slowing Andrew Luck is a totally different challenge. In an important early season battle of two potential playoff teams I like the leadership of Mr. Luck to prevail.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 2 Point Spread: Steelers -7

Pittsburgh laid an egg last week but get the Jags this week as they attempt to right the ship. Blake Bortles played well last week versus the Chargers while Pittsburgh lost last week to the hapless and winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Look for the Steelers to bounce back and for LeVeon Bell to dominate a game that Pittsburgh absolutely has to have.

Arizona Cardinals at Denver Broncos
Week 2 Point Spread: Cardinals +7.5

The Cardinals are one of two undefeated teams left in the NFL and off a bye have a tough task – heading into Denver to take on another team that enjoyed last week off. The Broncos have yet to cover the spread this year – look for the Cardinals stellar secondary to keep this one close at very least as Denver goes to 0-4 ATS on the season

Kansas City Chiefs at San Francisco 49ers
Week 2 Point Spread: Lines Not Available Yet

The Chiefs are rolling and after a dominant effort Monday night they have to be a confident bunch. San Francisco played perhaps their best game last week but even that was hardly awe-inspiring. Gotta roll with KC here – everything about their offense is peaking and the secondary isn’t so bad either.

[dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

New York Jets at San Diego Chargers
Week 2 Point Spread: Chargers -7

San Diego’s offense is on fire – Philip Rivers is completely in charge. It is hard to imagine the Jets putting up enough points to keep this one close.

Cincinnati Bengals at New England Patriots
Week 2 Point Spread: Bengals +2 1/2

Did anyone watch the Monday nighter? The Bengals and their stout defense should roll in this one.

Monday, October 6

Seattle Seahawks at Washington Redskins, total: 45.5
Week 2 Point Spread: Seahawks -7 1/2

The Seahawks, off a bye should have their way with a Redskins offense that was awful against the G-Men. Seattle’s offense should be able to manhandle the horrendous Washington defense and Seattle’s defense has to be licking its chops after seeing Kirk Cousins throw four picks last Thursday night.
