Cappers NFL Picks: Week 5 Pro Football Power Rankings

Where Each Team Stands After Week 4

Another crazy week of NFL action is in the books – the cream is really starting to rise to the top isn’t it? The top 4 teams in the Rankings all had the bye this week – they won’t lose their spot!

But below them is a serious shakeup with the Eagles, the Falcons, the Panthers, the Patriots and the Steelers all losing this past week. The Rankings have always been fluid – but c’mon! The parity in the NFL is making it so no team is safe from week to week.

With that in mind let’s take a look at where every team stands heading into what is sure to be another scintillating Week 5 on the NFL schedule.

Let’s break down the NFL’s top dogs.

#1 Seahawks (2-1) Last Week: 1

Despite not playing last week the Hawks still look like the best team in football. We’ll see what they are made of after the bye – three of their next four games are on the road.

#2 Broncos (2-1) Last Week: 2

The Broncos also had the week off and maintain their position at #2. They get a test this week when they host unbeaten Arizona- should be interesting.

#3 Bengals (3-0) Last Week: 3

The Bengals emerge out of their bye looking like one of the most complete teams in the AFC. The defense is off the charts and the offense under Andy Dalton looks as poised as it ever has.

#4 Cardinals (3-0) Last Week: 4

Have been terrific this year even with a backup quarterback starting their last two games. We’ll know more about this team Sunday – after they travel to Denver to take on the Broncos.

#5 Chargers (3-1) Last Week: 6

Dominated the Seahawks in Week 2 and have not looked back. Philip Rivers is playing terrific ball – completing nearly 75% of his passes with eight TDs and no interceptions the last three weeks – and the defense is doing its part as well. The Chargers are for real!

#6 Ravens (3-1) Last Week: 10

The Ravens haven’t only been winning – they’ve been blowing teams out of the water the last three weeks – including the Panthers and the Steelers. Steve Smith Sr. is a true difference maker for Joe Flacco.

#7 Eagles (3-1) Last Week: 5

Something had to give – Sunday was the hiccup many predicted was coming. I am willing to give a mulligan but it is up to the Eagles to prove me wrong on this one. LeSean McCoy has been stuck in neutral – a troubling sign going forward however. Zero offensive TDs in a game like last week at San Francisco won’t happen again.

#8 Lions (3-1) Last Week: 11

The Lions look as complete as they ever have – victories over the Packers and the Jets the last couple of weeks has them top 10. First place in the NFC North looks good on these guys!

#9 49ers (2-2) Last Week: 15

The much maligned defense held the potent Eagles to 213 yards on Sunday and Frank Gore had his best game of the season – both good omens for this team. Word is that coach Jim Harbaugh has lost the room though – we’ll see.

#10 Cowboys (3-1) Last Week: 20

How ‘bout dem boys? The offense is clicking and the defense may be the biggest surprise of the NFL so far. Dallas humiliated the Saints Sunday – if DeMarco Murray stays healthy there is no reason they don’t stay top 10.

#11 Colts (2-2) Last Week: 14

The Colts have had a relatively easy schedule – that’s for sure but there is no denying the talent of Andrew Luck – perhaps the best young leader in the game today.

#12 Packers (2-2) Last Week: 16

I RELAXed and have become a believer again.

[dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

The Packers put it all together against the Bears Sunday and had their best game of the season. It is only a matter of time before the Pack reach the top 10 – Aaron Rodgers is the man!

  1. Chiefs (2-2) Last Week: 24
  2. Falcons (2-2) Last Week: 8
  3. Patriots (2-2) Last Week: 7
  4. Texans (2-2) Last Week: 18
  5. Panthers (2-2) Last Week: 9
  6. Steelers (2-2) Last Week: 12
  7. Giants (2-2) Last Week: 27
  8. Saints (1-3) Last Week: 17
  9. Bills (2-2) Last Week: 21
  10. Bears (2-2) Last Week: 13
  11. Browns (1-2) Last Week: 23
  12. Dolphins (2-2) Last Week: 25
  13. Vikings (2-2) Last Week: 26
  14. Jets (1-3) Last Week: 19
  15. Rams (1-2) Last Week: 28
  16. Buccaneers (1-3) Last Week: 32
  17. Redskins (1-3) Last Week: 22
  18. Titans (1-3) Last Week: 29
  19. Jaguars (0-4) Last Week: 31
  20. Raiders (0-4) Last Week: 30
