Cleveland Browns vs. Tennessee Titans Preview

On the season the Browns are 2-0-1 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 3-0 and the Titans are at 1-3 ATS with an Over/Under record of 1-3.

The Titans are 0-1 at home this season and the Browns are 0-1 on the road.

Last week the Browns had a bye and in their previous game lost to the Baltimore Ravens 23-21 and the Titans were crushed losing to the Indianapolis Colts 41-17.

While the Browns are 1-2 their 2 losses have been close ones, against the Chargers and the Ravens, and they already beat the Saints. On the other side of the coin the Titans are reeling, as they have not only lost 3 in a row after a season opening win, but all 3 have been very bad losses. How bad? Well, in their 3-game slide they have been outscored 100-34.

Tennessee QB Jake Locker has injured wrist and he did not play in the Tennessee game and is a question mark for this one.

The team hope he can, as backup Charlie Whitehurst was less than impressive last week in the bad Titans game with 177 passing yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.

The Titans do not have a great set of WR’s and their pass offense only ranks 29th in the league, but they will face a Browns’ pass defense that ranks 27th.

Rookie RB Bishop Sankey may get more touches in this game, as Shonn Greene has not done much this season and really struggled in the loss to the Colts.

The Titans will look to establish the run early and often in this game since the Browns gave up 160 rushing yards in their last game facing the Ravens.

With Josh Gordon still out the Browns also do not have a great corps of receivers, but Brian Hoyer has been doing his best and has been playing well. Not only were the Titans torched last week through the air allowing Indy’s Andrew Luck to pass for nearly 400 yards with 4 TD and 1 INT, but also the pass rush did not sack him one time.

After a solid season opener rushing for 100 yards rookie RB Terrance West has struggled in the last 2 games failing to average over 4 yards per carry in each. However, fellow rookie Isaiah Crowell has ran the ball well and this duo has combined for 5 TD on the season.

The Titans run D ranks a respectable 9th in the league and even in the bad loss last week they did not give up a ton of rushing yards to the Colts (105).

NFL Week 5 Betting Trends

* Cleveland is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. loss.
* Tennessee is 0-7 ATS in their last 7 home games.
* The road team is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games between these 2 teams.

Tough call here and going out on a limb, but I think the Browns will play well again and upset the Titans beating them in their house.
