Ravens vs. Colts Gameday
The 2026 regular season opens with the Baltimore Ravens traveling to Lucas Oil Stadium to face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, September 13. Baltimore enters a new era under head coach Jesse Minter, while Indianapolis begins another season with Shane Steichen still running the show.
The Ravens went 8-9 last season, but there is still plenty of proven talent around Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. Baltimore also went 3-0 during the preseason, closing August with a 41-3 win over Washington.
Jackson and Henry still give Baltimore one of the league’s toughest backfields to defend.
Declan Doyle takes over the Baltimore offense, while Anthony Weaver returns to coordinate the defense. Joe Fagnano handled significant preseason work, but Jackson remains the unquestioned starter when the games count.
Indianapolis also brings back a productive offensive core.
Jim Bob Cooter remains the offensive coordinator, with Daniel Jones entering the opener as the starting quarterback and Jonathan Taylor anchoring the running game. Lou Anarumo’s defense will get an immediate test against a Baltimore offense capable of attacking on the ground or through Jackson.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Indianapolis Colts Odds & Last 5
The Ravens enter this Week 1 matchup as road favorites, with Baltimore laying 3.5 points and Indianapolis taking the points at home. The total is sitting at 48.0, while the moneyline has Baltimore priced around -178 and Indianapolis around +149.
Baltimore and Indianapolis last met during the 2025 preseason, when the Ravens won 24-16. That result has limited value now, but Baltimore has generally had the better of the recent series.
The Ravens also had the cleaner August this year.
Baltimore finished the 2026 preseason 3-0 and ended it with a 41-3 blowout of Washington. The Ravens produced 456 total yards in that finale, including 195 on the ground, while Joe Fagnano threw for 162 yards and a touchdown.
Indianapolis went 0-2-1 during the preseason and closed with a 25-16 loss to Detroit. The Colts managed only 34 rushing yards in that game while allowing Detroit to pile up 186 on the ground.
Colts Stats From Last Season
Indianapolis finished 8-9 in 2025 despite fielding one of the NFL’s better scoring offenses. The Colts averaged 27.4 points per game, ranking eighth in the league, while producing enough balance to stay competitive throughout the season.
Jonathan Taylor remained the centerpiece of that attack. He rushed for 1,585 yards and 18 touchdowns, giving Indianapolis one of the most dependable ground-game weapons in football.
The defense was less consistent.
Indianapolis allowed 24.2 points per game, ranking 21st, and had more difficulty defending the pass than the run. The Colts were considerably stronger against opposing rushing attacks, which could become important against Henry and Jackson.
The Colts struggled throughout the preseason and finished 0-2-1. Their finale against Detroit ended in a 25-16 loss, with DJ Giddens scoring a rushing touchdown despite Indianapolis getting very little production on the ground.
Availability remains worth watching heading into Week 1. Alec Pierce returned to full practice after dealing with an ankle issue, while Josh Downs and Tyler Warren have also been working back into the mix. D.J. Montgomery and Will Mallory opened the season on injured reserve.

Ravens Stats From Last Season
Baltimore finished 8-9 last season while averaging 24.9 points per game. The Ravens remained one of the league’s strongest rushing teams, piling up 2,662 yards and averaging 156.6 per game.
Derrick Henry led that attack with 1,595 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns. His ability to wear down defenses remains a major part of what Baltimore wants to do offensively.
The Ravens had more problems on the other side of the ball.
Baltimore allowed 23.4 points per game and surrendered 6,027 total yards. The defense was stronger against the run than the pass, giving Minter and Weaver an obvious area to address entering 2026.
The preseason at least offered some encouraging early results.
Baltimore went 3-0 and finished with a 41-3 demolition of Washington. The Ravens produced 261 passing yards and 195 rushing yards in that game, while Fagnano threw for 162 yards and one touchdown.
Zay Flowers returned to practice after dealing with a lower-body issue, while Nnamdi Madubuike avoided injured reserve despite a neck concern. Danny Pinter is on injured reserve, and Baltimore will continue monitoring its availability heading into the opener.

Ravens vs. Colts QB Matchup
Lamar Jackson remains the unquestioned starter for Baltimore after appearing in 13 games last season. He threw for 2,549 yards, 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions while playing through injuries that also limited some of his usual impact as a runner.
Jackson’s mobility still forces defenses to account for an extra dimension on every snap. Pairing that threat with Henry gives Baltimore a rushing combination capable of changing games without relying entirely on the passing attack.
Indianapolis counters with Daniel Jones.
Jones started 13 games last season and threw for 3,101 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also added value with his legs, giving the Colts another option alongside Taylor in the running game.
The quarterback matchup still favors Baltimore because Jackson offers the higher ceiling and the longer track record of creating explosive plays. Indianapolis can keep things balanced with Taylor, but Jones will need to avoid negative plays against a Ravens defense looking for a better start under its new staff.

Here is my Ravens Colts free pick: I’m laying the 3.5 points with Baltimore in Indianapolis.
The Ravens went 8-9 last season, but the offense still had bite, averaging 24.9 points while rushing for 156.6 yards per game. Derrick Henry ran for 1,595 yards, and Lamar Jackson changes every defensive equation.
Indianapolis can score, but I’m not convinced this is the ideal Week 1 matchup for Daniel Jones.
The Colts averaged 27.4 points last year and Jonathan Taylor gives them a ground-game counterpunch. Still, Baltimore inherits enough front-seven talent to make Jones work for sustained drives, especially if the Ravens keep Taylor from controlling the pace.
Baltimore’s quarterback edge is enough for me to swallow the extra half-point.

That result is not the reason for the bet, but I like the early signs under Jesse Minter. Joe Fagnano handled the preseason work, so the regular-season offense now gets its actual engine back with Jackson.
The hook is the only real concern because 3.5 is never my favorite road number.
Baltimore has the higher ceiling at quarterback and the stronger rushing profile. If Jackson is sharp, the Colts will have trouble matching that efficiency for four quarters.
I’ll lay the -3.5 with the Ravens.
