PICKS IN PROGRESS
Jets/Titans 1:00: Robert Saleh, who got run out of New York after patrolling the sidelines for the Jets from 2021 through 2024, gets an opportunity to revenge the Jets' organization. Titans upgraded weak areas of the 2025 season. They bolstered their offensive line through free agency and the draft. Shuttled in a better defensive line and should be better schematically under defensive minded Saleh. Cam Ward now has more weaponry with Wan' Dale Robinson and #1 pick Carnell Tate. Jets have upgraded as well. They do, however, have some depth problems in key areas. And although Geno Smith looked like a well-oiled machine in some pre-season action, I'm not buying it. We'll look for Saleh to install a great defensive plan to slow the Jets down.
Bills/Texans 1:00: Josh Allen has struggled against Houston. He's failed in four attempts at this location. Texans have the secondary and bookends (Anderson and Hunter) to rattle him. Stroud is overdue to get untracked after struggling the last few years. He has some quality skill personnel and an improving offensive line. If they can get newly acquired downhill runner - Montgomery - going, Stroud can settle in and do his thing. We'll stay on the Texans.
Ravens/Colts 1:00: Colts not getting the respect they deserve. When they're healthy, they're a dangerous team. Jonathon Taylor a premier back, has a healthy offensive line to run behind, and Daniel Jones has some solid skill personnel in Downs, Pierce, TE Warren and veteran pickup -Allen. Steichen surgically dissected Minter's (then DC with Chargers) defense last season. And don't discount Anarumo's defense. When he has healthy personnel to work with, he does a solid job keeping teams at bay. Lamar Jackson, operating with a new coaching staff, may take a few weeks to get the new offense cooking. Take the points.
