The Patriots will look to bounce back after an embarrassing loss to the Chiefs in Week 1.
The last time the Patriots and the Saints matched up was in 2013 when the Pats came out on top 30-27.
New England Patriots
Tom Brady struggled against the Chiefs in the season opener, completing just 16-36 without a touchdown pass.
Brady looked inaccurate against the Chiefs secondary, and the offensive line struggled with protection assignments. I see a bounce back game from Brady, as the last time New England got embarrassed by Kansas City they went on a Super Bowl Run.
With the Saints poor defense Brady should throw for over 300 yards and at least 2 touchdown passes.
The Pats running game was not very effective against the talented Chiefs front seven. Mike Gillislee did score 3 touchdowns, but he ran the ball 15 times for just 45 yards (3.0 yards per carry). He should reach the end zone at least once but will need more touches to keep the Saints offense off the field.
Brandin Cooks had 3 catches for 88 yards and he should beat the Saints secondary on the deep ball multiple times, so a big game should be in store for the talented receiver.

The defense played poorly against the Chiefs and Alex Smith played like a Hall of Fame caliber QB. They gave up 368 yards through the air and 4 touchdowns.
Tyreke Hill was able to beat the secondary for a 75 yard touchdown pass late in the second half, and the Pats secondary will need to make major adjustments to avoid another poor performance.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints need a bounceback game. I think they have one in them. They are a different beast when it comes to playing at home.
They made a major move this offseason signing Adrian Peterson, but many question how he will fit into the Saints pass happy offense, with a crowded backfield.
We’ve already seen him show his temper on the Saints sideline Monday night. He wants the ball.
Peterson should split time with Mark Ingram, and as poor as the Pats defense looked against rookie Kareem Hunt, AD could flirt with a 100 yard game.
Drew Brees will have another excellent season throwing the ball, but will be without former first round pick Brandin Cooks, who was traded to New England. Cody Fleener will be his main target even though the Pats shut down Travis Kelce last week.
Willie Snead has 3 games left on his suspension so expect Tedd Ginn Jr. to stretch the field and catch a couple of deep passes.
Mark Ingram should see plenty of touches in this game, and I expect him to get into the end zone twice on split carries..

The defense has never been a strength of the Saints during the Sean Payton era, and I don’t expect them to make a lot of big plays against the Pats offense that didn’t do much against Kansas City.
Look for second year safety Vonn Bell to be the playmaker in the secondary. Posting 83 tackles last season I expect him to be a force all game long.
Sheldon Rankins is still a force on the inside and should give the Pats offensive line fits after they gave up 3 sacks to the Chiefs.
