This is an interesting game as Tampa is one of two teams that did not play in week 1 due to Hurricane Irma.
That means we have one less data point on Tampa for this one. They probably would have been favoured either way though.

Chicago lost its opener at home against Atlanta. It was no surprise with the game playing out according to most pundits. Depending on when you bet them you may have covered.
It will be very interesting to see how the market reacts for this one. We just don’t have all the data we usually do.
Chicago Bears
I didn’t see much of the game live but the Bears loss to the Falcons could have gone either way. They were right there with the defending NFC champs.
Mitch Trubisky was the high draft pick but Sean Glennon did nothing to make you think he is in immediate danger. His receiving corps is a joke too with Meridith on the shelf.
If you play fantasy football you woke up this morning asking who is Tarik Cohen. The rookie out of NC A&T led the Bears in rushing and receiving in the opener and the Bears are hoping they have a playmaker a la Tyreek Hill in KC.
Still he saw twice as many targets as anybody else in the opener. They might have been force feeding him a little…and they shouldn’t forget about RB Jordan Howard, who rushed for 1300+ last season as a rookie.
This is definitely an offense in flux that is trying to figure out what is going to work. Cohen could be a spark.

Defensively the Bears did a nice job against one of the best offenses from a year ago. If they don’t give up an 88 yard TD to Austin Hooper they might have even won the game.
Critical to this matchup is that they were able to hold Julio Jones in check. Mike Williams is not in the same class but has similar attributes.
DE Akiem Hicks is building on last season’s career high 7 sacks. He had two in the opener. It will be critical the Bears are able to get a rush on Jameis Winston.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Last week Tampa had their opener at Miami postponed due to Hurricane Irma and as this is being written it is assumed this game is going forward. I think they have to play it but if there is concern they could move it to another venue I guess.
Hopes are high for Tampa this year. Last year they finished strong and the pieces are in place to compete for a division title and get into the playoffs. I would at least give them as good a chance as anyone else in the NFC South.
I don’t want to overplay it but I wonder how the weather disruptions might affect this one. We did not see a very good performance out of Houston last week and this is compounded by the fact that starters don’t even really play in preseason anymore.
Once they get to game speed I expect the Bucs will be able to move the ball against Chicago. Winston loves to take his shots down the field and there will be opportunities.

The defense is where the Bucs need to be better. However, they are well aware of the likes and limitations of Bears QB Mike Glennon. That is hard to put a value on though.
I think the first half will tell us a lot in this one. The Bucs need to come out strong but if they are sluggish the Bears will be able to hang around in this one, making that -6 a challenge.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Buccaneers -6
If the Bucs are what we expect them to be this should be a successful start to the season. The Bears will make them earn it.
NFL Free Week 1 Score Prediction: Buccaneers 28 – Chicago 16
Chicago will score 16 again and again it will not be enough to get a victory. I am expecting them to look strong early though so there could be some first half and in game opportunities.
Eventually Tampa will show the separation between these two teams that we all know is evident. There were some week 1 surprises but I don’t see this being another one.
