On Friday, November 22, finds the Los Angeles Lakers meeting up versus the Oklahoma City Thunder for their second meeting this week following the Lakers win in the closely contested 112-107 battle on Tuesday.
Last season, the squads played on three occasions with the Thunder winning two of the three meetings. The Lakers hold the all-time record having bested the Thunder in 144 of their 250 matches.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers sit atop the Western Conference and boast the top defense in the NBA. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are feasting and the club is taking advantage of an early home dominant easy strength of schedule.

Although the game seemed well in hand at Staples center the plucky Thunder refused to fold and subsequently made this a match which came down to clutch time to determine the winner.
LeBron James registered another triple-double of 25 points, 10 assists, and 11 rebounds making history in the process. James became the first player in NBA history to register a triple-double against every team in the Association.
He likely won’t hold the mantle by himself for long however as former Thunder star Russell Westbrook only needs to get a trip-dub on his former team to join James.
Anthony Davis was unstoppable in the match regardless of who the Thunder put on him defensively as he tallied 34 points, four assists, and seven rebounds.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was the only other player to accompany the King and the Brow in double-figure scoring.
Alex Caruso is nursing a calf injury, Davis is still experiencing shoulder soreness and Kyle Kuzma is dealing with a sore eye from taking an elbow in the match versus OKC. All three are listed as probable for this match.
Avery Bradley will be out until early December after suffering a hairline fracture to his right leg and DeMarcus Cousins remains out indefinitely dealing with an ACL injury.
Oklahoma City Thunder
No team in the Association competes night in and night out like the Thunder. They’ve been in numerous games already that came down to the buzzer and unfortunately have seldom been able to close out the matches resulting in their 5-9 record which could easily be reversed.
There are exceptions, such as the win over 76ers but on six other occasions, they’ve lost the game by five points or less with all going into the final minute to decide.

In the loss to the Lakers the Thunder showed signs of fatigue having taken the Clippers to the buzzer the night before.
Dennis Schroder came off the bench and led OKC in scoring with 31 points. Danilo Gallinari (25), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (16) and Nerlens Noel (15) were the other double-figure contributors.
Big man Steven Adams missed two games earlier this season with a knee contusion but is expected to suit up for the match. Hamidou Diallo sat out the last three games with a sprained left knee but is listed as probable.
Andre Roberson who mysteriously was expected to start the season remains out with no definitive return date as he rehabs from his patellar tendon injury.
NBA Betting Trends:
- The teams are 5-5 in last 10 head to head
- The Thunder are 6-4 ATS in their last 10
- Over Under is 4-6 in team’s last 10 head to head matchup
Free Los Angeles Lakers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder NBA Prediction:
OKC has endured the hardest schedule to start the season and lost six-games which easily could be victories. The guarantee is they’ll compete right to the buzzer which is why I’m leaning to them breaking through as they stick to their identity.
