03-26-15 | West Virginia v. Kentucky -13 | 39-78 | Win | 100 | 10 h 40 m | Show
804 West Virginia and Kentucky The prominent story of this game is how will Kentucky handle the West Virginia pressure. The Wildcats have played five games against top 30 teams pressuring the ball. Eastern Kentucky, Louisville, Tennessee and Arkansas twice. The Wildcats won those games by 33, 8, 18, 17 and 15 points. So they have had issues against pressuring defenses. But other than Louisville who is a major problem for everyone, and a huge rivalry game for the Cardinals, Kentucky has had a turnover rate of 24% or less. In the three most recent games the Cats have turned the ball over just 19%, 13% and 21% of the time. Calipari hasn’t had a lot of success in his career against Huggins, but that was in the past with lesser teams.Kentucky has a huge size and rebounding edge in this one and we can’t see West Virginia getting many easy baskets. The Mountaineers have struggled all year in the half court offense and will be forced to shoot low percentage jumpers to remain competitive. The Cats can taste the title at this point and we won’t see any letup.PLAY KENTUCKY |

03-21-15 | Ohio State +9.5 v. Arizona | 58-73 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 1 m | Show
523 Ohio State and Arizona In our opinion this line is two points higher based on the Buckeyes having to go to overtime and the Wildcats winning in a laugher. We’ve had solid success in the past looking for regression to the mean in this round of the tournament. Ohio State is a talented team but has suffered from inconsistency. But it does play in what many consider the strongest conference in the country, and the Big Ten is always a dangerous underdog come tourney time. We’ve followed the Wildcats closely this year and while the team has excellent coaching and solid players, we’ve never really bought in to this team being an elite squad. Maybe the loss to a poor UNLV team has clouded our thinking in that matter, but there isn’t a good reason why the Wildcats should be such a prohibitive favorite here.PLAY OHIO STATE |

03-03-15 | Auburn v. Missouri -4.5 | 61-63 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 36 m | Show
540 Auburn at Missouri As stated in the past we like to look for revenge when two comparable power rating teams go at it for the second time in a season. In the earlier meeting Auburn beat Missouri 85-79 at home, now it’s time for the host Tigers to even up the series. Auburn has fallen on hard times as of late dropping 10 of 12 including a whopping 25 point loss at Texas A&M last time out. In the last four games Auburn has surrendered 80, 84, 110 and 79 points. This poor defensive team is fading as the season winds down.Missouri has lost 14 of 15 but is showing better against lesser manned teams. With just two wins in the conference and this being the final home game of the season the host Tigers want to end the season in a positive manner. There is a reason that Missouri is favored and the first move was upward. Look for the host to get back into the win column with a nice performance for the seniors.PLAY MISSOURI |

03-01-15 | Pittsburgh -2 v. Wake Forest | 66-69 | Loss | -109 | 8 h 42 m | Show
829 Pittsburgh at Wake Forest We like the way the Panthers have played as of late winning 6 of 8 with the losses coming to Louisville and Virginia. Two teams known for defensive pressure, the opposite of Wake Forest who permits 71 points per game. Pitt hasn’t been as strong on the road but this looks to be an ideal matchup for the Panthers. Pitt averages 16.8 assists per game which should confound an already weak Wake Forest defense.Wake is celebrating senior day as this contest is the last home game of the season. But really how much celebrating can be done for a disappointing 12-16 team. Wake has a proud tradition including the Tim Duncan years and this team just hasn’t lived up to past standards. In a likely competitive game we will back the better coached squad who finds a way to win.PLAY PITTSBURGH |

02-27-15 | Pennsylvania +4.5 v. Brown | Top | 69-75 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 19 m | Show |
831 Pennsylvania at Brown The Quakers are looking to avenge a recent home loss to the Bears who won 71-55 less than two weeks ago. Penn’s weakness is the inability to take care of the ball but Brown isn’t a team that puts a lot of pressure on ball handlers. Riding a five game losing streak it’s imperative for the Quakers to get back in the win column with Yale on deck. Brown has won three straight in this series while Penn had captured 9 of the previous 10 before the current Bears run. The road team has won outright 11 of the last 18 meetings, so home court value has mattered little in this series. Penn and Brown are two teams very equal in talent and catching points in this matchup is just a bonus. The Quakers don’t have the talent to play with the top of this conference but it matches up well with teams like Brown.PLAY PENNSYLVANIA |

02-25-15 | Loyola-Chicago v. Drake -1.5 | 80-75 | Loss | -114 | 9 h 9 m | Show
766 Loyola Chicago at Drake On January 15th the Ramblers were 13-4 on the season and 3-2 in conference play. Things were looking good for Loyola Chicago with the heart of conference season to come. But since that time it’s been clear the early season excitement was misplaced. Now on a 3-8 run it’s become clear this team simply doesn’t shoot or rebound well enough to be a force in the MVC.Drake’s season has been the polar opposite as the Bulldogs started the year 3-14 and 0-5 in the Missouri Valley Conference. But since that time Drake has won 6 of 11 games including a 78-43 win over Missouri State last time out. That game was an easy winner for our clients and we feel this one should follow suit. The Bulldogs have won four straight at home and are playing with great confidence right now. PLAY DRAKE |

02-23-15 | Louisville -6.5 v. Georgia Tech | Top | 52-51 | Loss | -102 | 6 h 48 m | Show |
717 Louisville at Georgia Tech This is the time of year when the Cardinals start to up their game, especially on the defensive side of the court. After allowing 69 and 74 points in the previous two contests Louisville held Miami to just 53 on Saturday. The Cardinals don’t have great ball movement and they aren’t a particularly good shooting team, so defense has to be the rallying cry for this club.Georgia Tech has dropped 12 of 15 as of late. The Yellow Jackets are a good rebounding team but has major deficiencies in just about every other area. Georgia Tech is one of the worst shooting teams in the country and they don’t attack the basket. Two major problems when taking on Louisville.PLAY LOUISVILLE |

02-22-15 | Missouri State v. Drake -2.5 | 43-78 | Win | 100 | 1 h 9 m | Show
848 Missouri State at Drake The Bears have fallen on hard times as of late dropping 11 of 13, although they are off a 52-46 win over Southern Illinois. The offense has been the main culprit reaching 60 points just twice over those 13 games. Drake is a bad basketball team when looking over the full season numbers, but the Bulldogs continue to play with heart. Winners of 4 of the last 7 games Drake is playing with confidence right now while Missouri State has long given up on this season. These two met earlier in the year and the Bears pounded the Bulldogs 62-37. You can bet tonights host well remembers that outcome. The line tells us there isn’t a talent gap between these two clubs so a 25 point loss has to remain fresh in the minds of these Bulldogs players.PLAY DRAKE |

02-21-15 | Fresno State +5.5 v. Utah State | 79-85 | Loss | -103 | 9 h 37 m | Show
645 Fresno State at Utah State Utah State rides a three game winning streak into back to back home revenge games against Fresno state and UNLV. While the season is virtually over for the Rebels, the Bulldogs continue to play hard. The three victories for Utah State all came against teams on the decline in San Jose State, Nevada and New Mexico. The Spartans are extremely short handed and Nevada and New Mexico have also been hurt by injuries and lack of talent. Fresno has not only beaten Utah State this year but also Boise State and San Diego State. This line is too high for an underdog that’s always in the game.PLAY FRESNO STATE |

02-20-15 | Iona v. Marist +8.5 | 72-68 | Win | 100 | 10 h 51 m | Show
838 Iona at Marist We can see a disinterested Gaels team here riding an eight game winning streak and 13 of 14 added to the win column. Iona beat Marist by 22 just twelve days ago and have a revenge contest with Monmouth on deck. This is the fourth straight road game for the Gaels and this team has lost at least once every road trip made this season. Despite just five wins on the season Marist has won 4 of the last 7 games played. Only one of those three losses was by more than four points, that was the contest against Iona. So we have a team playing its best ball of the season taking on a disinterested foe at the end of a four game road streak and with revenge on deck. That’s enough for us.PLAY MARIST |

02-18-15 | Boise State v. UNLV -1 | 53-48 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 52 m | Show
774 Boise State at UNLV Normally we look to go against home teams when there is something taking away focus on a game. Ring ceremonies, uniform number retirements etc. But tonight it’s a totally different type of ceremony. Former coach Jerry Tarkanian passed away earlier in the week and there will be a remembrance for the legendary coach who put the UNLV basketball program on the map. While it’s true he coached here before most of these kids were born, he was a frequent visitor to practice and games. When he would attend practices the players loved spending time with him and current coach Dave Rice played for him. The players have talked about the importance of Tark in their lives and we expect a huge crowd tonight at the Thomas & Mack. The Rebels took the Broncos to overtime in Boise as UNLV has played well this season when stepping up in class. The Rebels will be without Vaughn it’s leading scorer who will likely be out for the remained of the season. While that will certainly hurt UNLV the remainder of the year the raw emotion of the night should be enough to get the Rebels the victory.PLAY UNLV |

02-17-15 | San Diego State v. New Mexico +4 | Top | 63-46 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 8 m | Show |
528 San Diego State at New Mexico Down year for both these programs although the Aztecs are still very likely to be dancing come March. Steve Fisher has always had teams that played great defense and this club is no exception. But the Aztecs this year are having an even harder time than usual getting the ball in the basket. Averaging just 62 points and just 10 assists per game show exactly why San Diego State has underperformed. Teams that play great defense are traditionally very good on the road, but that hasn’t been the case with San Diego State this year. Losses to the likes of Washington, Cincinnati, Fresno State, Colorado State and Boise State show that when this team steps up on the road too often it comes up short.New Mexico enters this game on a four game losing streak, with 3 of those 4 games on the road. The Pit is traditionally a very tough place to play although this year the Lobos have not dominated here as expected. Still New Mexico has lost only twice here this season by more than tonights spread. In a must win game for the host we look for this game to go down to the wire. PLAY NEW MEXICO |

01-31-15 | Air Force +10.5 v. UNLV | Top | 63-74 | Loss | -110 | 27 h 3 m | Show |
689 Air Force at UNLVThe Falcons are playing shorthanded this year and aren’t in the same class as previous editions. That said, the Rebels have always struggled against Air Force as UNLV recruits highly athletic, low IQ players. After watching every game from the Rebels this year, there is no doubt the collective basketball IQ is worse on this team then in any previous year dating back to the Bill Bayno days. Off two straight nail biting victories we see the Rebels playing down to its competition once again here. We watched the Reno feed of the prior game and the announcers talked how they had never seen a more focused UNLV squad. The Rebels had lost three straight to the Wolf Pack. Now they regress once again after a major hustle output.PLAY AIR FORCE |

01-24-15 | New Mexico v. Wyoming -6 | 62-63 | Loss | -109 | 3 h 24 m | Show
646 New Mexico at Wyoming The Lobos are coming off a very emotional nip and tuck victory at UNLV, a place in which they have owned over the years. In fact, the players call the Thomas & Mack The Pit West. After controlling the paint against the Rebels the Lobos will have a hard time playing in the most remote location in the league. Not only is Wyoming a tough flight, but the added bus travel makes the jaunt that much more taxing on the body. While the game will be slow paced the Cowboys have an excellent shooting club with an effective field goal mark of 55%. Defensively Wyoming is just as tough against the opposition, and despite the way the Lobos shot from distance against UNLV this isn’t a good 3 point shooting team. Wyoming is 13-1 SU at home this year with the only loss coming against San Diego State the last time the Cowboys took the court here. In a low scoring game we trust the host who has the better scoring options.PLAY WYOMING |

01-17-15 | UNLV v. San Diego State -9.5 | 47-53 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 12 m | Show
624 UNLV at San Diego State The Rebels are weak both mentally and physically. The team has athletes that can blow away lesser competition but mental toughness is virtually nil. Players aren’t paying attention in time outs and the club lacks a strong leader. UNLV has been able to stick in some games against good competition early, but fades late because of lack of depth.San Diego State is a very physical team that plays tenacious defense in the half court. UNLV being soft and not looking good in the half court offense is the perfect opponent for the Aztecs.PLAY SAN DIEGO STATE |

838 Illinois at Nebraska Going against the Illini here after pulling out a home underdog victory last time out vs Maryland. Illinois played that game after a major injury to a key player and the team responded. Now heading back on the road without that scoring presence is a tough assignment for this club. Especially when you consider that Illinois has yet to win a true road game this season.Nebraska is about to enter a very tough stretch of games and this could likely be the best chance of victory in the foreseeable future. 01-07-15 | Nevada +10 v. UNLV | Top | 64-62 | Win | 100 | 12 h 11 m | Show |
791 Nevada at UNLV The Wolf Pack took both meetings from the Rebels last year as the veteran squad had a sizable advantage in the backcourt. This year both teams are very young with only Kendrick and Wood remembering the defeats for the Rebels. Both squads started the season poorly with UNLV struggling against weaker opposition. But now that both clubs have had time to gel it should be a highly competitive game. This rivalry is mostly one-sided as the city of Reno circles games against it’s big city brethren in Las Vegas. The Rebels on the other hand faced Arizona, Wyoming and Kansas in 3 of the last 4 outings. So this game means much more to the visitor who has strung together three straight victories heading into this contest. The Rebels own the better talent but the team hasn’t played overly well at the Thomas & Mack. The line on this game is inflated in our eyes as we expect this contest to be competitive throughout.PLAY NEVADA |

04-05-14 | Kentucky v. Wisconsin +2 | 74-73 | Win | 100 | 13 h 36 m | Show
816 Kentucky & Wisconsin
It’s not often when you get a #2 seed as an underdog to a #8 seed. While it’s clear the selection committee made a major error with the seeding of Kentucky, we’re not so sure the Wildcat love hasn’t been overly adjusted. Wisconsin obviously is the more experienced team, but the Badgers are the better shooting team in every facet of the game. And they did so in what is considered to be the most physical and defensive minded league in the country. Free throw shooting is always a key but in a game in this price range it could be the deciding factor. No doubt the young Wildcats will have the advantage on the boards but not sure the Badgers three guard lineup can't take advantage of the slow footed big men. It’s been a great tourney ride for a talented and young Kentucky team, but the season comes to an end tonight as Wisconsin plays in the National Championship. PLAY WISCONSIN |

The Golden Gophers are making a habit of ending the season in fine fashion in these lesser tournaments. After taking the crown recently the Big Ten afterthoughts are back on the national stage on Thursday. While Minnesota has been impressive against less than great talent this team is only 3-9 SU on the season against NCAA Tournament teams. And while technically the Mustangs did not make the Big Dance, you can be assured this team deserved it. Which is a major reason why we like the SMU Mustangs tonight. This is a team led by a legendary coach that could have folded like a cheap tent after being left out of the NCAA Tournament. But instead of sulking this team has come to play. In head to head match ups the Mustangs own the superior players and have the better coached team. With will take coach Brown in a big situation as this is a team on a mission. PLAY SMU |

The Bruins are the second fastest team remaining in the tournament when it comes to tempo. They want to get out in the open court and run. That may be a problem against the second best defensive efficiency team in college basketball. The top four defensive efficiency teams left in the tournament are Arizona, Florida, Louisville and Virginia. Three of those four teams earned top seeds in their region and many felt Louisville deserved the same. UCLA played Arizona at home and lost outright, so they have yet to impress against an excellent defensive squad. St Louis dropped 4 of 5 heading into the tourney and needed a major rally to knock off NC State in the first round. This is a team that has just one quality win on the season and that team, VCU, was knocked out yesterday. While the Billikens are a very good defensive team they lack an offensive presence. Louisville sleepwalked through the opening round contest against Manhattan as this team looked like it had been reading its press clippings. This line opened with Tennessee a solid favorite and moved all the way to Iowa a 2 point choice based on the circumstances off the court with a member of the Iowa coaches family. The betting public is treating this as a rally around game for the Iowa players as the coaches son needs surgery. That and the feeling that the SEC as a whole is down this year. While both of those situations could very well be true, we will buck the line move and back the team playing far better ball at the moment, the Tennessee Volunteers. Tennessee is playing its best ball of the season and gave #1 seed Florida all it could handle in the SEC Tournament earlier in the week. Iowa on the other hand was considered a major force half way through the season and failed miserably down the stretch. We follow these two teams very closely as this has always been a major rivalry in this part of the country. The Buckeyes have dominated on the football field the past few years while Michigan takes special pride on the basketball court. While motivation is always a question mark in conference tournament contests, you can be assured both teams want this game badly. While Ohio State enters play with a solid 25-8 mark they are only 5-4 against Top 50 opposition. The Buckeyes were beaten at home by double digits in the only meeting with the Wolverines this season. Michigan is 24-7 on the season but a more impressive 9-5 against Top 50 opponents. The line opened as Michigan a small favorite but was quickly bet up on the overnights. With Oregon State looking to make a run in the tournament and the red hot Ducks already making Big Dance plans we will side here with the Beavers in a major rivalry contest. In the two regular season meetings between these two this year the Ducks held a two point combined advantage. Oregon State has been hit or miss this season but in both games against Oregon the Beavers showed they were not intimidated. Oregon State has the rebounding which could give Oregon trouble as that has been the biggest drawback for this Oregon squad. The last time these two faced off was the first of the current seven straight victories for the Ducks. 536 Western Carolina & Wofford at Asheville
The Catamounts are off back to back close upset victories the last two nights which has us thinking the well may be running dry. This is a decent team with a 19-14 record but they lost at Wofford by double digits in the only regular season meeting. Western Carolina was just 6-12 straight up away from home until the last two nights so we are not sold on this current mini run. Wofford was good to us last night and we expect that success to continue. While the Terriers are only 19-12 on the season they have won 12 of the past 14 games with just a single loss coming by more than a bucket. The Terriers have won 9 of its last 11 away from home. Look for that trend to continue. PLAY WOFFORD |

Familiar territory for the Cougars who used to play in Las Vegas every year as a part of the Mountain West Conference. The Mormons will be well represented as BYU has always traveled well. BYU sits at 21-10 on the season but this club has been much better down the stretch winning 13 of 16 to end the regular season. The teams split the regular season match ups with the host winning each game by double digits. Loyola Marymount is 13-18 on the year but most of their success came in non-conference action. In the West Coast Conference the Lions are just 5-14 and that includes a tight win against Portland that got them to this point. The Lions have dropped 14 of 17 down the stretch so we have both teams heading in different directions. No need to complicate this one as the Cougars roll. PLAY BYU |

While the Falcons are just 4-10 in Mountain West Conference play they have been extremely competitive when playing away from home. Air Force is 6-0-1 ATS on the conference road with the push being a 10 point loss at Nevada in a game that went to overtime. Air Force has won outright the last two visits to Laramie and this team should be in a fired up mood after a 19 point home blowout loss to Nevada last Saturday. The Air Force coaching staff has stressed shooting earlier in the shot clock in anticipation of this expected defensive battle. Wyoming must carry on after the season ending injury to Larry Nance Jr. The son of the former NBA star was by far the best all-around player on this team. Even with Nance in the lineup this was a club that struggled to put points on the board, which makes this line relatively high considering the low scoring nature of Wyoming games. The only three times the Cowboys were favored by 7 points or more in conference action this year the games ended with an average of 115 points scored. With scoring at a premium and Air Force proving to be a tough out on the road, we will back the Falcons here to take this one to the wire. PLAY AIR FORCE |

Unfortunately reality set in as Nevada has now lost five straight games heading into this contest. The last time these two met was at the Lawlor Events Center where the Wolf Pack were a 10 point home favorite against the Flyboys. Air Force battled this team tooth and nail and the game went to overtime. Amazingly Nevada not only won that contest but covered for the first time all game win a 69-56 victory. Looking to back the Panthers in revenge here for their worst home loss of the season. The Vikings came into US Cellular Arena and pounded the home club by 28 points. The Panthers were 11-4 prior to that game and the loss really sank what was once a promising season. Cleveland State had won seven straight games heading into the huge showdown with Wisconsin Green Bay last Saturday. The stage was set for the Vikings to make a major statement. Unfortunately the Phoenix burned up Cleveland State at home 68-54. That loss will be especially hard to bounce back from as that game had been circled. The last time these two tangled TCU was in a great spot as Kansas was off Baylor, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma, San Diego State, Toledo, Georgetown, New Mexico, Florida and Colorado. A murderers row of future postseason participants. Following the game against TCU was Iowa State, Texas and Baylor. So what did the Horned Frogs do? They lost 91-69 as a 14 1/2 point home underdog. Home court revenge game here for the Tigers who dropped an 83-73 decision to these Huskies back in mid January. After knocking off Gonzaga and having this UConn battle on deck we correctly predicted the Tigers would be preoccupied in the last game hosting Central Florida. But now with Rutgers, Temple and Houston on deck the Huskies get the Tigers full attention. Connecticut enters this game off back to back blowouts wins over South Florida and Central Florida, the latest being a whopping 43 point margin over the Bulls. 543 Colorado at UCLA
The last time these two met was right after star guard Spencer Dinwiddie went down for the season for the Buffaloes. Losing a major scorer and key playmaker took some getting used to for Colorado but now Askia Booker has taken over the point guard role and run with it. Since that defeat the Buffaloes are 4-2 with the only losses coming at Arizona and Arizona State. This is a team that is gaining confidence and since the Dinwiddie injury has stayed under the national radar. UCLA sits are 7-3 in conference and are off the biggest rivalry on the schedule against around the corner rival USC. Even in a down year for the Trojan program a win over USC is still a big deal to this program. After this game against Colorado the Bruins look to avenge a loss of their own when Utah comes to town on Saturday. The Utes are 16-7 on the season and are a difficult opponent for the Bruins. While this is one of the tougher home court in the conference we believe these two squads to be much closer in talent than the line suggests. We will back the double digit road dog playing with home court revenge against what could be a preoccupied Bruin. PLAY COLORADO |

The Cyclones have been very impressive this season but I would rather trust them at home than on the road. Lately Iowa State has dropped 3 of 4 away from home with the lone win coming by a single point at Oklahoma State, a team in a free fall as of late. This is a club that owns exactly one road win by more than 2 points all season, at Texas Tech. West Virginia is coming in off a road loss at Kansas which was much tighter than the final score would indicate. The undefeated Shockers are coming off what just about everyone felt to be the only game that could keep them from sweeping the league schedule. A date at Indiana State which resulted in a 65-58 Wichita State victory. That game was undecided until the final minute as Indiana State gave the visitor all they could handle. Now coming off that must win game we can see the Shockers being a bit overconfident tonight in Cedar Falls. Northern Iowa is having a down season at just 11-12 on the year but this is a program with a solid heritage. The Panthers have won anywhere from 20-30 games in each of the last five seasons. This is also a club that has lost on this floor just once all year and it happened to be the last game here against Indiana State. Now having dropped 4 of 5 overall you know this is a statement game for the host. We like the ball movement and the shooting ability of the Panthers and the spot certainly helps the case of the home underdog. PLAY NORTHERN IOWA |

The Warhawks currently sit at 7-10 on the season and 4-5 in the Sun Belt Conference. This team is 2-2 straight up on the conference road and have been tested in non-conference play by Kansas, Ohio State and LSU. The last time these two played UL Monroe was a 3 1/2 point home favorite and were embarrassed in the Fant-Ewing Coliseum 61-36 to these Bobcats. The Warhawks will be without guard Amos Olatayo but this club split its two games without the sharp shooter who is out for the season with a knee injury. Texas State is 6-15 on the season and just 2-6 in the Sun Belt. The Bobcats have dropped 7 of 9 heading into this matchup. This club is 3-3 ATS on the season when favored but all three losses have been by the straight up variety. No problem backing the better team off a nationally televised loss. Kansas has beaten Baylor 14 of 15 regular season meetings so you know the confidence is there, and coming off a loss should keep them from overlooking the Bears. That and the fact that Baylor crushed Kansas 81-58 here in Waco a season ago. Andrew Wiggins was 2 of 12 from the field in his most recent outing against Texas, as the talented freshman settled for jumpers instead of driving the lane. We expect to see a more focused Kansas team here. Baylor broke a five game losing streak with a 76-70 road upset of Oklahoma. But the Bears played that game without starting point guard Kenny Chery and he remains questionable to play tonight. Baylor continues to struggle to put points on the board and that |

This line is built all on reputation and less on the strengths of these current squads. No doubt that Duke is a top notch opponent but the betting public is overrating this team based on recent road play. Duke is off 15 and 31 point wins at Pittsburgh and Miami Florida, but keep in mind this club lost recently at Clemson and Notre Dame. We happen to feel that Syracuse is the better team and the line isn't showing that fact. The Orangemen don't win as impressive as the high flying Blue Devils but we trust them much more in the half court game. After playing a slew of middle of the road squads this is a game Syracuse has circled. PLAY SYRACUSE |

This line looks to be a bit rich for two teams we rank as virtually identical in our power ratings. St Josephs has the better guard play which for us is a key when playing away from home. The Hawks own a 55.3% effective goal goal accuracy and they defend very well. With both teams sitting at 3-1 in conference we expect a tightly contested game with this one going down to the wire. Richmond is in the midst of three straight tough games at home. The Spiders started with a 73-64 victory over a good Dayton team. They followed that up with a hard fought defensive struggle against UMass in a 58-55 win. Now they can pull off the trifecta by knocking off St Josephs. But this team doesn |

While many will expect an instant bounce back here for the Wildcats we are expecting the opposite to occur. This is a team that has feasted on the lower half of the conference thus far and are a good bit overrated at this point. 814 Wright State at Cleveland State
The Raiders sit at 11-9 on the season but virtually every non-conference victory came against weak competition. In fact, Wright State has one of the worst strength of schedules in the country. The non-conference wins came either against Division 1 opposition with a current 40-65 record or against lesser division teams. The Raiders are 3-2 in conference but only one of those victories came against a team with a winning record, 11-9 Valparaiso. In fact, that win at Valpo is the only road victory Wright State has had all season. Cleveland State was able to win last time out despite having two players miss the game because of concussions. One of those two is expected to be back in the lineup today. But even with a shortened bench we feel this is a very cheap number. Cleveland State has played the much tougher schedule and is currently 8-1 straight up at home this season. Now tied with the Raiders at 3-2 in the Horizon League this is a game with a lot of meaning for the host. We expected this line to be quite a big higher than it currently sits, so we have no reservations about laying the wood here. PLAY CLEVELAND STATE |

A week ago at this time the Cyclones were undefeated and off to a magical season. But after losses to Oklahoma and Kansas this is a team that has some solid value on Saturday. While this is just the fourth true road game for Iowa State this year, wins at BYU and Texas Tech toughened up this squad who had won 23 games each of the last two seasons. 01-18-14 | SMU -4.5 v. Central Florida | Top | 58-46 | Win | 100 | 8 h 55 m | Show |
SMU at Central Florida
The Mustangs were good to us earlier in the week and they continue to have plenty of pointspread value. Now 12-4 on the season with losses to Arkansas, Virginia, Cincinnati and Louisville, this is one club that played a very tough non-conference schedule and were not intimidated. At only 2-2 in conference this is a game the Mustangs need badly, and talent wise the number is at a bargain price. The Knights are 9-6 on the season but the non-conference schedule was loaded with weak opposition. Wins over the likes of Tampa, Bethune-Cookman, Stetson, Howard and Jacksonville did not prepare this club for conference action. Now 1-3 in the AAC with the lone win against 5-10 Temple, this is a club that has shown nothing to get us excited this season. While Central Florida is a good rebounding team they do little else to instill confidence. PLAY SMU |

01-17-14 | Canisius +7.5 v. Iona | Top | 85-83 | Win | 100 | 12 h 1 m | Show |
829 Canisius at Iona
Two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contenders go head to head tonight in New Rochelle. The Golden Griffiths have gotten off to a 2-5 mark on the road which may be why this line is so high, but the five losses have come against teams with a combined 45-40 record, including St Bonaventure and Notre Dame. At 5-1 in the MAAC this club has proven it can compete with anyone as they build on a 20 win season a year ago under Jim Baron. This is a good shooting team with an effective field goal percentage of 52.1%. Iona has established themselves as a solid program after four straight seasons of 20 or more victories. Also at 5-1 in conference play they too are a proven commodity in the MAAC. Against a very comparable schedule the Gaels are just 8-7 overall on the season. While they have played the likes of Kansas, St Bonaventure and Dayton, 7 of the 8 victories have come against teams currently ranked outside of the Top 200 in the nation. The only somewhat impressive win came against 7-10 George Mason. Not sure that |

01-17-14 | Wisc-Green Bay -2.5 v. Wright State | 79-69 | Win | 100 | 10 h 55 m | Show
825 Wisconsin Green Bay at Wright State
These two were expected to battle it out for the conference championship in the Horizon League, but only one of these teams has shown enough so far to be considered a contender. The Green Bay Phoenix enter play at 13-3 on the year and they have done so against a pretty impressive resume. Wisconsin, Harvard, Virginia and a pretty good Eastern Michigan team have already been played. The Phoenix want to play at a fast pace and the ball distribution has been excellent averaging 16.4 assists per game. Much of the offensive success can be attributed to a gambling defense averaging 7.1 blocks and 8.4 steals per game. At 3-0 to start league play and tonights opponent at 3-1 this is an important game for league supremacy. Wright State is 11-8 on the year and some of the losses would have been inexcusable coming into the season. Dropping games to the likes of South Alabama, NC A&T, VMI and Miami Ohio are not the type of games a 23 win team such as last year would do. Averaging just 66.4 points per contest with an effective field goal percentage of 49.7%. Rebounding has really been a problem both offensively as well as defensively. The host may be a bit shorthanded tonight as well as JT Yoho is out and Matt Vest and Kendall Griffin are questionable after missing last game. While the Raiders are a perfect 9-0 at home this year the schedule has been filled with much less talented competition that what they will face tonight. PLAY WISCONSIN GREEN BAY |

01-16-14 | Texas-San Antonio v. UAB -16 | 65-78 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 28 m | Show
536 Texas San Antonio at UAB
With a shocking double digit home underdog straight up win over Charlotte, the Roadrunners are now getting way too much respect in the betting marketplace. This is a team that until that victory had beaten Division 1 teams that had combined for just 16 wins on the season. Victories over the likes of Texas A&M CC, Huston-Tillotson, Texas Pan American, Cameron and Marshall do not build much confidence. Especially when you consider the extremely weak schedule the Roadrunners have played. Against teams with current winning records Texas San Antonio had lost by 18, 30, 31 and 33 points before that Charlotte shocker. Now sitting at a perfect 2-0 to start conference season these Roadrunners have a target on their back. UAB is 11-4 on the season and are off a loss to Middle Tennessee State to start conference action. The Blazers have played the much tougher non-conference slate and they are currently undefeated at home this year. This is an excellent rebounding team that has already knocked off the likes of North Carolina. This number is extremely cheap when you take a look nat the entire body of work for both these squads. 01-16-14 | Wisc-Milwaukee -1 v. Illinois-Chicago | 67-63 | Win | 100 | 8 h 10 m | Show
539 Wisconsin Milwaukee at Illinois Chicago
The Panthers have held their own on the road this year with a 5-3 record. Currently 12-6 on the year but they are off a home loss to in-state rival Wisconsin Green Bay. Coming off an eight win season a year ago this club more resembles the 20, 19 and 20 win seasons of the previous three years. UIC on the other hand took a significant jump last year to 18 wins after 8, 7 and 8 win campaigns. But we have seen no reason to think this club has turned the corner. A 5-12 record with wins over Roosevelt, San Diego, Wagner, SE Missouri and Purdue-Calumet. The Flames are riding a six game losing streak into this contest. This is a club that is 2-5 straight up at home on the season with the five losses coming to teams with a combined 45-40 mark. Both home victories came against Non-Division 1 opposition. 01-16-14 | Old Dominion -1 v. Florida Intl. | 52-36 | Win | 100 | 8 h 45 m | Show
513 Old Dominion at Florida International
Old Dominion fell off a win column cliff last year after four straight 22 or better win seasons. After dropping all the way down to five victories a coaching change was made and Jeff Jones took over the reigns coming over from American University. The Monarchs enter play at just 7-9 on the season but it |

01-16-14 | North Texas +6.5 v. Marshall | Top | 80-65 | Win | 100 | 8 h 54 m | Show |
517 North Texas at Marshall
After a 12 win season a year ago Tony Benford has the Mean Green heading back to previous hard court success. Now 9-7 on the season and winning 4 of the previous 6 games. Off back to back home losses to Southern Miss and Tulane we know we will get a prime effort from the Herd on the road tonight. This is a good rebounding team that has competed very well on the road against much tougher competition. Marshall has played the weaker of the two schedules and enters play at 6-11 on the season. Since leading scorer Elijah Pittman was suspended this team has really struggled to find offensive rhythm. Losers of 7 of the last 9 with the only wins coming against Presbyterian and Alice Lloyd. The guard play is less than desirable and defensively the Thundering Herd really struggle. Western Kentucky is the only team Marshall has beaten this year anywhere near to having a winning record. Other than the Hilltoppers the other wins have come against teams with a combined Division 1 record of 15-38. With both teams winless in conference we will back what in our opinion is the clear better team catching points. PLAY NORTH TEXAS |
