Something has to give come Sunday night as the Packers and Broncos headline a matchup that pins two undefeated teams against one another.
Green Bay comes in after a bye week, but held strong prior as they escaped the Chargers 27-20 behind a goal line stand with just seconds to go.
Denver comes in off a bye week as well after taking out the Cleveland Browns in overtime prior to their off week.
The Packers come into this one as road favorites as they feature one of the best QBs in the game right now. Aaron Rodgers continues to pick apart secondaries every week and has the Packers look as good as ever.
While the Packers still look unbeatable, they were given a bit of scare against San Diego prior to their bye week. The Packers did lead for a majority of the game, but the Chargers found themselves down just 7 points with one chance to tie.
Rivers led San Diego down to inside the 5 yard line, but the Packers D stood tall and batted away a would be touchdown to secure their 6-0 mark.
By Aaron Rodgers’ standards, his performance was sub par to say the least. Rodgers finished 16 of 29 for 255 yards and 2 touchdowns. His completion percentage of 55 percent was the lowest for him on the season.
The Packers defense, who was the main reason for the win over San Diego, will look to get to Peyton Manning all night come Sunday. With Manning’s versatility very lacking, the Packers will look for a solid pass rush that they’ve had all season.
Currently, Green Bay sits 2nd in the NFL with 23.0 sacks.
While it certainly hasn’t been pretty at times this season, the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning are 6-0 and remain unbeaten on the season. They’ve had plenty of close encounters however.
Denver knocked off Baltimore 19-13 to start the season, then followed that up with a 31-24 win over Kansas City. Things got a little easier the following week as they used a late touchdown to put a 12 point win over Detroit away.
Following that, they defeated Minnesota by 3, Oakland by 6, and Cleveland by 3 in overtime.
QB Peyton Manning continues to struggle as he has completed just 61% of his passes and is on pace for 19 touchdowns. It just seems like Manning doesn’t have the ability to throw deep down field anymore, which was what led him to plenty of success last season.
With Manning’s inconsistencies, the run game has a lot more pressure on it. The Broncos run game found some life against Cleveland as CJ Anderson and Ronnie Hillman rushed for 152 yards combined on 33 carries.
