The Cowboys sit at 2-7 on the season and are likely going to miss the playoffs this season. But don’t tell them that.
A finally healthy Tony Romo gets set to return Sunday as the Cowboys head to Florida to take on the Dolphins.
With every game really mattering from here forward, the Cowboys need to string together some wins and rather quickly.
The Dolphins are the same way. They sit a game under the .500 mark and are desperate for a win.
The Cowboys knew things weren’t going to be easy without Dez Bryant and Tony Romo following their early season injuries.
Behind Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel, the Cowboys failed to weather the storm as they dropped every game without Romo, leaving them at just 2-7. However, good news stems from the fact that they sit just 2.5 games behind the New York Giants for the division lead. Even with just 2 wins, the Cowboys remain within striking distance of a playoff spot.
Dallas comes in off another bitter loss as they fell 10-6 to the Bucs on Sunday. Bucs QB Jameis Winston scrambled in from one yard out with just 54 seconds left to give Tampa Bay the win.
The thing that stings for Dallas the most is their inability to finish off games. Dallas has led or been tied in the 4th quarter in 6 of their 7 losses. They have been unable to finish off drives or run the clock down as they have lost every one of those games.
With Romo returning, expect Bryant’s impact to go up extremely. Those two have built a solid chemistry that has them clicking on all cylinders on deep down field throws.
The Dolphins put an end to their 2 game losing streak with a 20-19 come from behind win over Philadelphia on Sunday. The win puts Miami just one game under .500 and has them lurking around in terms of a playoff spot.
For the first time really all season Ndamukong Suh made his presence known. That doesn’t mean he hasn’t done anything since signing his big contract with Miami. In fact, Suh has played extremely well for a majority of the season.
But on Sunday Suh looked like a man on a mission. He had 8 tackles and added a sack, which marks the 3rd game of 4 where he’s recorded at least one sack.
RB Lamar Miller is leading a steady charge offensively on the ground that is keeping Miami in games. Miller has scored a touchdown in 5 straight games and is helping out Tannehill in terms of the pass game too.
Miller caught 6 passes for 50 yards and added a touchdown through the air last game. Look for him to be a playmaker on Sunday against the Dallas D.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Dallas ATS
You would have thought that Dallas would be dead and buried with not winning a game during Romo’s absence. Being just 2.5 games back is a blessing and Romo has a real chance to lead Dallas to a division title still. With that, we get a determined and pumped up Romo on Sunday, who should be able to carve apart the Dolphins secondary.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Dallas 27- Miami 20
Another close game here, but at a PK, the Cowboys should be able to pull this one out and get to 3-7.
