12-01-23 | Senators -154 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -154 | 7 h 58 m | Show |
Coming off their worst performance of the season, the Ottawa Senators will look for more discipline and more goals when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday. Monday's 5-0 home loss to the Florida Panthers saw the Senators muster just 20 shots en route to being shut out for the first time this season. Tensions rose as the game increasingly got out of hand, resulting in a third-period fracas that saw all 10 players on the ice receive misconduct penalties. The Senators and Panthers combined for 167 total penalty minutes, yet only Florida could take advantage on special teams. Ottawa went 0-for-6 on the power play while the Panthers were 3-for-7 with the extra attacker, including Sam Reinhart's power-play goal just 1:28 into the game. |
12-01-23 | Sharks v. Devils OVER 6.5 | Top | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 48 m | Show |
The Devils won both games they played against the Sharks last season: 2-1 in New Jersey and 4-3 (via a shootout) at San Jose. It was the first time they beat the Sharks twice in one season since 1996-97.The Sharks have lost their last 13 road games (including three last season), and each loss was by at least two goals. The only other streaks of 13 or more consecutive multiple-goal road losses in NHL history are by the 1974-75 Capitals (25) and 1972-73 Islanders (13).Rookie defenseman Nikita Okhotiuk had five assists in November, third most by a Sharks player, behind forwards Tomas Hertl (eight) and Mikael Granlund (six). The Devils have won their last three games, outscoring their opponents 16-9. New Jersey's three-game winning streak matches its season high, done once before (Oct. 27-Nov. 2).

11-30-23 | Golden Knights v. Canucks -116 | 4-1 | Loss | -116 | 10 h 21 m | Show
It's not that the Vegas Golden Knights aren't allowed to have nice things anymore, it's just that when you are the defending Stanley Cup champions, sooner or later you realize that you can't rest on your achievements. The Golden Knights can expect to get the surprising Canucks' best on Thursday when Vegas -- in a real slog the last few weeks -- travels to Vancouver with first place in the Pacific Division on the line. According to Cassidy, his players are starting to realize that other teams are coming into games with extra motivation. |
11-30-23 | Seattle Kraken v. Maple Leafs -176 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 25 m | Show |
The Seattle Kraken will be out to end a two-game losing streak Thursday when they face the host Toronto Maple Leafs. Seattle opened a four-game road trip Tuesday, falling 4-3 to the Chicago Blackhawks. The loss was especially frustrating for the Kraken considering they went 0-for-5 on the power play, leaving coach Dave Hakstol with an immediate area to address. Matty Beniers, who had a goal and an assist against Chicago, is also hoping that Seattle can be more efficient when it comes to breaking down the opponents' penalty kill. |
11-30-23 | Penguins v. Lightning -1.5 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 7 m | Show |
The Tampa Bay Lightning return from a mediocre three-game road trip with their prolific offense suddenly unrecognizable after its best goal output of the season. The Atlantic Division club will play host Thursday to fellow Eastern Conference opponent the Pittsburgh Penguins, who arrive in Florida for the first time. For Lightning coach Jon Cooper, his group produced some of its most fluid hockey in Friday's trip-opening 8-2 drubbing of the host Carolina Hurricanes. Starting goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy, the 2019 Vezina Trophy winner, had back surgery late in training camp and was expected to be out until December, but made it back ahead of schedule to play two games already. Nikita Kucherov scored a career-high six points and tied two franchise records Friday, while Brayden Point added five points in the rout. The road trip was off and running ... and then Colorado and Arizona happened. Against the Western Conference teams, Tampa Bay stumbled with the puck, managing just two total goals and dropping both games: 4-1 to the Avalanche and 3-1 against the Coyotes. After scoring a season-high eight goals to open the road swing, two in two games seemed just a pittance. |
11-29-23 | Capitals v. Kings UNDER 6 | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 13 h 32 m | Show |
The Los Angeles Kings will go for their sixth straight win when they host the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night. The Kings, who have been idle since a 4-0 shutout of the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, have outscored opponents 20-5 during the streak. Washington, on the other hand, is suddenly struggling. After a 9-1-1 stretch in games played mostly at home, the Capitals have lost two straight and have been outscored 7-1 in the process. Washington opened a five-game West Coast road trip with a 2-1 loss at the San Jose Sharks on Monday night. The Sharks pulled ahead with a third-period power-play goal. Evgeny Kuznetsov scored for the Capitals, and Darcy Kuemper made 21 saves. |
11-29-23 | Red Wings +1.5 v. Rangers | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 35 m | Show
Coming off their worst performance of a stellar opening 20 games, the New York Rangers are getting one of their stalwarts back for the blue line. Two days after their most lopsided loss so far, the Rangers are expected to welcome Adam Fox back to their defense corps on Wednesday night when they host the Detroit Red Wings for the second time this month. Fox is returning from a stint on long-term injured reserve after absorbing a knee-on-knee hit from Carolina forward Sebastian Aho on Nov. 2. Fox missed 10 games, and the Rangers were 7-2-1 in his absence. That stretch included a 5-3 win over Detroit on Nov. 7, a 5-3 win at New Jersey on Nov. 18 and Saturday's 7-4 win over Boston. Fox was a full participant in the morning skate and practiced on Tuesday. Fox's return to participating in practices was perhaps the highlight of the hours leading up to Wednesday's meeting with Detroit since the Rangers lost 5-1 to the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night and took their first loss by at least four goals since Dec. 27, 2022, a 4-0 defeat to the visiting Washington Capitals. |
11-29-23 | Canadiens v. Blue Jackets OVER 6.5 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -108 | 9 h 10 m | Show |
Playing some of their best hockey of the season, the Columbus Blue Jackets will try to keep rolling when they host the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday. After a nightmarish 1-9-4 stretch threatened to essentially end the Blue Jackets' season before it started, Columbus has rebounded in strong fashion. The Jackets have followed up that 14-game slide with a 3-1-0 record in their last four games. Monday's 5-2 victory over the Boston Bruins saw the Jackets tally 40 shots (their third-highest total of the season), and build a 4-0 lead before Boston even got on the scoreboard in the third period. Though the Bruins entered Monday's game tied for the NHL lead in points, Blue Jackets coach Pascal Vincent didn't consider the result an upset. |
11-28-23 | Penguins -105 v. Predators | 2-3 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 43 m | Show
For Pittsburgh, the joy level ebbs and flows along with the team's success. The Penguins have the same record as Nashville, but coming to .500 a quarter of the way through the season has been bumpy. Pittsburgh held off the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday for a 3-2 win, one night after blowing a two-goal lead as the Buffalo Sabres scored three unanswered third-period goals to win. Crosby has been perhaps the only example of reaching the high level of consistency Pittsburgh has been searching for. Even at 36, he leads the team with 13 goals and 24 points. |
11-28-23 | Blues v. Wild UNDER 6.5 | Top | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 38 m | Show |
While the St. Louis Blues continue to play well, the Minnesota Wild are mired in their longest losing streak in eight seasons, and it led to a coaching change. Eying a fourth straight road victory, the Blues try to hand the Wild their eight consecutive defeat on Tuesday night in Saint Paul, Minn. The skid led the Wild to fire head coach Dean Evason on Monday after a 5-10-4 start to the season. Evason was 147-77-27 in his four-plus seasons in Minnesota. Assistant coach Bob Woods also was fired. Later Monday, the Wild announced that John Hynes would be taking over for Evason. Hynes was fired by Nashville in May after parts of four seasons with the team, leading the Predators to the playoffs in three of those seasons. Hynes also spent time as coach of the New Jersey Devils (2015-19) and has compiled a career record of 284-255-63 across eight NHL seasons. Since opening the season at 3-4-1, St. Louis has won eight of 12. On Sunday, Pavel Buchnevich had a goal with two assists, Jake Neighbours scored twice and Robert Thomas added two more assists as the Blues won their season-high third straight road contest, 4-2 at Chicago. |
11-28-23 | Hurricanes v. Flyers UNDER 6 | Top | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 27 m | Show |
The Carolina Hurricanes hope to build off a comeback win when they visit the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday. The Hurricanes scored three unanswered goals in the third period to skate away with a 3-2 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday. The win came after Carolina was blown out 8-2 by the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday. Carolina is 9-4-0 since losing four of their first seven games of the season and hasn't dropped consecutive games since a three-game losing streak from Oct. 19-24. The Hurricanes followed that slide up with three straight wins but haven't won more than two in a row since. |
11-27-23 | Capitals -1.5 v. Sharks | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 11 m | Show
The San Jose Sharks will attempt to win consecutive games for just the second time this season when they host the Washington Capitals on Monday night. The Sharks defeated the visiting Vancouver Canucks 4-3 on Saturday. Mikael Granlund and Mike Hoffman scored 86 seconds apart early in the third period and the Sharks held on. After starting the season 0-10-1, San Jose is 4-5-1 in its past 10 games. Ty Emberson scored his first NHL goal, and Tomas Hertl and Calen Addison each had two assists for the Sharks, who had lost three straight. Kaapo Kahkonen made 30 saves. Granlund and Hoffman each had an assist. Vancouver had won the first two meetings between the teams by scores of 10-1 and 3-1. |
11-27-23 | Sabres v. Rangers OVER 6 | Top | 5-1 | Push | 0 | 7 h 45 m | Show |
While the New York Rangers enjoyed the sight of seven goals going into the net Saturday, the Buffalo Sabres had the exact opposite reaction while fishing seven pucks out of their own net on the same day. Two teams involved in separate seven-goal games get together Monday night when the Rangers host the Sabres. At 15-3-1, New York is on its third winning streak of at least three games and has 15 wins in 19 games or less for the first time in team history. The Rangers won their third straight game Saturday afternoon when they scored three goals in the first period in a 7-4 win over the Boston Bruins. Thirteen players recorded a point against Boston, highlighted by three-point showings from Chris Kreider and Artemi Panarin. |
11-27-23 | Panthers v. Senators +118 | Top | 5-0 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 37 m | Show |
With Ottawa's Joonas Korpisalo (5-4-0, 3.17 goals-against average) day-to-day because of an undisclosed injury, teammate Anton Forsberg (3.51 GAA) could be back in net after stopping 21 of 26 shots versus New York. Meanwhile, Florida's Sergei Bobrovsky has lost three of his past four starts, but owns a 2.56 goals-against average and .910 save percentage during that stretch. Panthers backup Anthony Stolarz has a 2.28 goals-against average while winning three of the four starts he's made this season. Florida's Matthew Tkachuk will once again square off against his brother Brady. Matthew is without a point in five consecutive games, but he's posted four goals and six assists in his past six against the Senators. Brady, meanwhile, has three goals with an assist in six home games versus Florida. |
11-26-23 | Ducks +1.5 v. Oilers | 2-8 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 4 m | Show
The Anaheim Ducks are becoming known as a team that spends a lot of time in the penalty box. That could spell trouble when the Ducks visit the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday night. Anaheim led the NHL in penalty minutes (280) heading into Saturday's schedule, while the Oilers had the seventh-best power play in the league entering Saturday with a 25 percent success rate. Anaheim's penalty kill has performed well most of the season but is beginning to sag under the weight of constant usage. The Ducks gave up two power-play goals in the first period on Friday against the visiting Los Angeles Kings and couldn't make up the deficit in a 5-2 loss, their fifth straight setback. The Oilers led the NHL last season with a 32.4 percent success rate on the power play, the best mark in the history of the NHL. They finished in the top three with the man advantage in the three previous seasons as well. Edmonton wasn't nearly as productive on the power play to start this season but is showing signs of finding its groove, scoring three power-play goals in a 5-0 win at the Washington Capitals on Friday. |
11-26-23 | Ducks v. Oilers OVER 6.5 | Top | 2-8 | Win | 100 | 9 h 1 m | Show |
The Oilers are 7-1-1 against the Ducks since the 2019-20 season, with five of their seven wins coming by at least four goals. Anaheim's only regulation win in that span came in Edmonton, a 4-3 decision on December 17, 2022.
11-26-23 | Blues v. Blackhawks +138 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 15 m | Show |
After stopping a five-game skid with Friday's overtime victory, the Chicago Blackhawks will vie for consecutive victories for the first time this season when the St. Louis Blues visit on Sunday afternoon. Chicago is confident a newfound surge can carry over to the second contest of a three-game homestand. The Blackhawks tied Friday's contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs 15 seconds into the third period when Jason Dickinson completed a natural hat trick. Rookie defenseman Kevin Korchinski's goal 4:30 into overtime gave Chicago a 4-3 victory. Dickinson netted his first career hat trick to lift the Blackhawks' attack. Connor Bedard, the top pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, led Chicago with six shots but finished at minus-2. Fellow forward Corey Perry was a healthy scratch for the second game in a row, but coach Luke Richardson didn't provide insight into the status of the former Hart Trophy recipient. |
11-25-23 | Coyotes v. Golden Knights OVER 6 | Top | 2-0 | Loss | -118 | 10 h 2 m | Show |
The Coyotes lost to the Blues, 6-5, at home on Wednesday, and have now lost three consecutive games for the first time this season. It was the first time they scored five goals in a regulation loss since December 19, 2019, in an 8-5 loss against Minnesota.
11-25-23 | Flyers +133 v. Islanders | 1-0 | Win | 133 | 8 h 36 m | Show
A three-game winning streak for the New York Islanders is salvaging what had been a disastrous November. The Philadelphia Flyers hope their current two-game skid isn't going to undo the progress they made over the first half of the month. The Islanders and Flyers will meet for the second time this week on Saturday night in Elmont, N.Y. Both teams will be completing a back-to-back set. The Islanders continued their well-timed surge Friday with a 5-3 win over the host Ottawa Senators, while the Flyers dropped a 3-1 decision to the New York Rangers. The home game Saturday will be only the second for the Islanders since Nov. 11, when fans chanted "Fire Lane Lambert" as the New York head coach presided over a fourth straight defeat. The winless streak reached seven games (0-4-3) when the Islanders went 0-2-1 to open a four-game West Coast swing. New York, however, ended the trip with a 5-4 shootout win over the Calgary Flames on Nov. 18 before notching a 3-2 win over the visiting Flyers on Wednesday night. The five goals the Islanders scored Friday were they most they've collected in regulation this season, while the three-game winning streak is their longest since a three-game run from March 15-18. |
11-25-23 | Sabres v. Devils -164 | Top | 2-7 | Win | 100 | 7 h 15 m | Show |
November likely can't end soon enough for the New Jersey Devils. After a 5-2-1 run in October, the Devils are 3-7-0 this month with three games remaining, including Saturday night's matchup against the Buffalo Sabres in Newark, N.J. The Devils have lost three in a row -- including 2-1 to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday -- and have won only once in their past seven games. "That was just a tough result," forward Jack Hughes said after the loss to Columbus. "We didn't generate anything. We didn't score. We didn't execute. We're talking too much ... we have to go out and play better." New Jersey has allowed 38 goals this month and has seen its opponents score at least four goals in every loss except for the setback against the Blue Jackets. New Jersey had high hopes this season after finishing third overall in the NHL in 2022-23. But as the team approaches the quarter mark of the season, it finds itself in seventh place in the Metropolitan Division, only one point ahead of last-place Columbus. After a 4-0 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday, the Devils focused on raising their competitive level and winning puck battles in practice Thursday. They followed that with some "honest conversations," forward Erik Haula said. And while they saw some improvement against the Blue Jackets, it was just a step. |
11-24-23 | Canucks v. Seattle Kraken OVER 6.5 | Top | 5-1 | Loss | -125 | 29 h 31 m | Show |
11-24-23 | Penguins v. Sabres +106 | 2-3 | Win | 106 | 25 h 33 m | Show
11-24-23 | Oilers -124 v. Capitals | Top | 5-0 | Win | 100 | 22 h 43 m | Show |
The Oilers arrive in the U.S. capital on the heels of a third consecutive loss, Wednesday's 6-3 defeat against the Carolina Hurricanes. Unlike the previous two outings in which they surrendered a 2-0 edge, the Oilers trailed 4-0 in the first period. Edmonton won the first two games after a coaching change resulted in Kris Knoblauch being handed the reins, but has followed that positive bump by dropping every outing on the current road trip that ends in Washington. Goaltending and team defense has been a huge problem all season and has played a big part in the losing skid. The Oilers have surrendered 17 goals in three games, capped by the Carolina loss in which captain Connor McDavid was minus-3 and Leon Draisaitl was minus-4. |
11-22-23 | Canadiens v. Ducks -1.5 | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 3 m | Show
Struggling to post victories and stay out of the penalty box, both the Montreal Canadiens and the host Anaheim Ducks are looking to get back into the win column on Wednesday. Anaheim has lost its last three games, while the Habs are on a four-game skid heading into the West Coast portion of a five-game road trip. The first stop on the Canadiens' trip was a lopsided 5-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday. The Habs had a season-low 22 shots, while the Bruins' 44 shots marked the second-highest shot total by a Montreal opponent this season. |
11-22-23 | Blackhawks +132 v. Blue Jackets | 3-7 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 60 m | Show
To say things have been better for the Columbus Blue Jackets would be an understatement. After a 5-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday dropped them to 0-7-2 in their past nine games, the Blue Jackets return home to face the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday, hoping to avoid a franchise-record 10th straight setback. While the Blue Jackets will be on two days of rest for the first time since Nov. 8, they are the NHL's coldest team, with issues throughout the roster. Among the veteran players expected to lead the group, Patrik Laine has struggled for ice time under head coach Pascal Vincent and was a healthy scratch against Philadelphia. At the same time, a sputtering power play emphasizes further struggles throughout the roster. Against the Flyers, the Jackets went 0-for-5 on the power play and sat at 9.8 percent on the season, the third worst in the NHL entering Tuesday. |
11-22-23 | Oilers v. Hurricanes -1.5 | Top | 3-6 | Win | 170 | 9 h 8 m | Show |
Just when it seemed as if the Edmonton Oilers finally had found a rhythm, they might be amid another slide. The Oilers likely won't have an easy time avoiding a third straight defeat Wednesday night in Raleigh, N.C., where the Carolina Hurricanes have been nearly unbeatable this season. Edmonton owned a 2-9-1 record before winning three straight from games. However, the Oilers again are headed in the wrong direction after allowing 11 goals in consecutive road defeats to the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers. On Monday, the Oilers squandered leads of 2-0 and 3-2 en route to a 5-3 loss to the Panthers. The setback dropped them to 2-7-0 on the road this season. |
11-20-23 | Kings v. Coyotes +133 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 43 m | Show |
The Coyotes are adjusting to the loss of top-line center Barrett Hayton, who sustained an upper-body injury in the second period of a 3-2 win against the host Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday. Hayton is expected to miss four to six weeks. Travis Boyd moved into Hayton's spot on a line with Nick Schmaltz and Clayton Keller on Saturday night against the Winnipeg Jets. Boyd made a nice pass to defenseman Matt Dumba to set up a goal that tied the score 2-2, but the Jets scored three unanswered goals to win 5-2. Arizona coach Andre Tourigny said Schmaltz will also get a chance to play some center in Hayton's absence. |
11-20-23 | Rangers v. Stars -127 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 47 m | Show
The New York Rangers will try to extend their points streak against another division leader when they visit the Dallas Stars on Monday. New York is on an 11-game (10-0-1) points streak and stands one more result away from the 10th-longest points streak in franchise history. Saturday's 5-3 road win over the New Jersey Devils was one of the most satisfying victories yet for the team, as the Rangers defeated their arch-rival with another late comeback. Trailing 3-2 with nine minutes remaining in the third period, the red-hot Artemi Panarin equalized for New York on his second goal of the game. Jimmy Vesey collected his second goal on the game-winner, backhanding a shot into the Devils' net with 2:49 left in regulation. It marked the fourth time this season that the Metropolitan Division-leading Rangers have come back to win after trailing in the third period. |
11-20-23 | Avalanche v. Predators OVER 6.5 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 57 m | Show |
It's been nearly a month since the Nashville Predators won back-to-back games. Considering their recent struggles against the surging Colorado Avalanche, achieving that feat when the teams meet Monday night in Nashville likely won't be easy. Nashville snapped its season-high four-game losing streak with Saturday's 4-2 victory home victory against Chicago. Cole Smith scored twice, Yakov Trenin had a goal with an assist and Kevin Lankinen made 29 saves for the Predators, who are 3-7-0 since winning consecutive games -- for the only time this season -- on Oct. 19 and 21. |
11-19-23 | Sabres v. Blackhawks OVER 6.5 | 3-2 | Loss | -120 | 8 h 33 m | Show
The Buffalo Sabres upped the intensity in the third period of what ultimately was a loss in their most recent outing. The energy is something they'll look to replicate on Sunday night when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks. The Sabres lost 3-2 to the Winnipeg Jets on Friday, twice falling behind by a pair of goals before closing the gap. After getting outshot 7-6 in the first period, they outshot Winnipeg 22-11 over the final two -- including a 12-6 advantage in the third. Chasing the game has been an issue for Buffalo, which has allowed the first goal in 11 of its 17 games. |
11-19-23 | Golden Knights v. Penguins UNDER 6.5 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 38 m | Show |
Frustration might emanate from both ends of the ice when the Pittsburgh Penguins and visiting Vegas Golden Knights face off on Sunday evening. Vegas lost for the fourth time in its last six games (2-3-1) following a 4-3 overtime decision to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday. That result comes off the high of the Golden Knights celebrating their Stanley Cup title by racing to an 11-0-1 start to the season. On Saturday, there was a common theme that the Knights cited in their loss to the Flyers. |
11-19-23 | Golden Knights v. Penguins +100 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 6 h 30 m | Show |
Pittsburgh is 6-4-0 all-time against Vegas. The only team the Golden Knights have a worse record against is Boston (3-6-1). The Penguins have scored at least four goals in all six wins, and three or fewer in all four losses.
11-18-23 | Blues v. Kings -1.5 | Top | 1-5 | Win | 125 | 11 h 46 m | Show |
The Kings have won four in a row against the Blues and are 9-2-2 in their last 13 meetings overall, including an active seven-game point streak at home (5-0-2). The most recent meeting came on March 26, a 7-6 Kings win |
11-18-23 | Penguins v. Hurricanes -158 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 19 m | Show
The Hurricanes won all four games they played against the Penguins last season and each win was by one goal, including two overtime victories. Carolina's four-game winning streak versus Pittsburgh matches their franchise high, done twice before, by the Hartford Whalers from October 1986 to January 1988 and February 1989 to March 1990.
11-18-23 | Golden Knights -150 v. Flyers | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -150 | 1 h 27 m | Show |
The Golden Knights seek a second consecutive season sweep of the Flyers as they face off in Philadelphia. Vegas rallied for a 3-2 home win on October 24, with Shea Theodore scoring the game-winner with 32.5 seconds to play.
11-17-23 | Panthers v. Ducks OVER 6.5 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -130 | 10 h 55 m | Show |
The Anaheim Ducks will look to bounce back from their worst defeat of the season when they open a four-game homestand against the Florida Panthers on Friday night. The Ducks come in off a 8-2 loss against the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday in the second game of a back-to-back that began with a 3-2 victory at Nashville. Anaheim allowed five goals in the final period against Colorado. Anaheim seemed to wilt in the high altitude of Denver. The loss, just the third in 11 games, snapped a five-game road winning streak for the Ducks. |
11-17-23 | Sabres +147 v. Jets | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 59 m | Show
The Buffalo Sabres will likely welcome back three players but will be without their top center when they visit the Winnipeg Jets on Friday. Alex Tuch, Eric Comrie and Zach Benson are each expected to be back against Winnipeg while Tage Thompson will miss his first game with an upper-body injury sustained Tuesday after blocking a shot in a loss to the Boston Bruins. Thompson is week to week and his absence "should be less than" two months, coach Don Granato said. Dylan Cozens was elevated into the No. 1 spot at practice Thursday, with Tuch and Jeff Skinner on his wings. |
11-17-23 | Maple Leafs v. Red Wings OVER 6.5 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -130 | 2 h 2 m | Show |
The Red Wings played their Global Series opener on Thursday. Detroit trailed Ottawa 4-0 midway through the second period, knotted the score before the period ended, then lost in overtime 5-4. Lucas Raymond, the lone Swede on Detroit's roster, started the comeback with a breakaway goal. Detroit killed off four third-period penalties but lost on Tim Stutzle's goal with two seconds left in OT. |
11-16-23 | Panthers v. Kings OVER 6.5 | 1-2 | Loss | -128 | 14 h 32 m | Show
The Los Angeles Kings have to wait four days for the next opportunity to end their two-game losing streak, but nobody seems to be complaining. The extra time at home gives the Kings a combination of rest, recreation and preparation heading into their matchup against the visiting Florida Panthers on Thursday night. Los Angeles took Sunday off following their 4-2 loss to the visiting Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, played in their annual charity golf tournament Monday and returned to the practice rink Tuesday and Wednesday. |

11-16-23 | Coyotes -115 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 9 m | Show |
The Arizona Coyotes will look to rebound and find consistency in their game when they visit the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night. After starting the season better than many expected, the Coyotes have not linked a pair of wins together since the fourth and fifth games of the campaign. Over their last eight games, they have alternated wins and losses, with their most recent victory a 7-5 win over the Nashville Predators on Saturday before falling to the Western Conference rival Dallas Stars 4-3 in overtime on Tuesday. While Arizona has remained competitive despite inconsistency, they have struggled to hold onto leads late in games, allowing a 3-2 lead to slip in the final five minutes against Dallas, eventually leading to the overtime defeat. |
11-16-23 | Devils v. Penguins -1.5 | Top | 5-2 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 59 m | Show |
The biggest questions surrounding Thursday's game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and visiting New Jersey Devils are whether it will be a clash of each team's top player, and which team's streak will continue. Penguins center Sidney Crosby is expected to be there, and he's flying, coming off a four-point night that helped Pittsburgh win its fifth straight game. Devils center Jack Hughes has a shot to return Thursday from a right shoulder injury, according to coach Lindy Ruff. Hughes has missed the past four games, and New Jersey has lost three in a row. Crosby, 36, has not let age slow him. He leads Pittsburgh in goals with 10 and in points with 19 after he had a hat trick plus an assist Tuesday in a 5-3 win against the Blue Jackets at Columbus. |
11-15-23 | Ducks v. Avalanche -1.5 | Top | 2-8 | Win | 100 | 9 h 15 m | Show |
Down 1-0 and with the Kraken having appeared to score another goal, the Colorado Avalanche were reeling early Mondy night in Seattle. But coach Jared Bednar successfully challenged the short-handed tally -- a move that seemed to turn things around for Colorado, which scored the next five goals to win 5-1. Instead of losing their third straight game, the Avalanche looked like the team that rolled through the postseason in 2021-22. They will try to build on that momentum shift when they host the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night. Anaheim is on the second game of a back-to-back after rallying to win 3-2 at Nashville on Tuesday night. Colorado still won't have winger Artturi Lehkonen, who is on injured reserve with an upper-body injury. Center Andrew Cogliano and defensemen Samuel Girard and Josh Manson were out Monday with injuries as well, and are listed as day-to-day. Those absences opened up opportunities for others. Defensemen Sam Malinski and Caleb Jones were inserted into the lineup, with Malinski making his NHL debut and Jones his Avalanche debut. Colorado didn't practice Tuesday and had no additional update on the injured players. Despite not having key components, the Avalanche played well. Jonathan Drouin, who was a healthy scratch against the Kraken last Thursday, scored his first goal of the season on Monday night. |
11-15-23 | Seattle Kraken v. Oilers -179 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 42 m | Show
The Edmonton Oilers gave coach Kris Knoblauch a present after his first NHL victory. The Oilers presented their new coach with the game puck and then surprised him with a video of his wife from their home in Hartford, Conn., where he had been coaching the New York Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate. Knoblauch, who replaced the fired Jay Woodcroft on Sunday, will go after a second consecutive victory when the Oilers play host to the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday night. |
11-15-23 | Flyers v. Hurricanes OVER 6 | Top | 3-1 | Loss | -120 | 8 h 38 m | Show |
The willingness to make changes has been part of coach Rod Brind'Amour's approach with the Carolina Hurricanes. That paid off during the weekend with a split of games in the Sunshine State. Now it's back home for a visit from the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night in Raleigh, N.C. The Hurricanes used lineup changes and line adjustments in a 4-0 victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night. Carolina had lost 5-2 at the Florida Panthers on Friday. |
11-14-23 | Ducks v. Predators -1.5 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 0 m | Show |
The Predators will be trying to turn around their fortunes after dropping the past three games, giving up 17 goals along the way. Nashville had leads of 2-0 and 4-2 against the visiting Arizona Coyotes on Saturday, but it gave up three straight goals over a 12-minute span of the second period and two more over the final 3 1/2 minutes of the third in a 7-5 loss. The Predators' penalty kill success rate has fallen to 68.1 percent, second-lowest in the NHL. |
11-14-23 | Golden Knights v. Capitals +1.5 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 5 m | Show
Despite embarking on one of their two longest road trips of the season, the Vegas Golden Knights left a day early for Tuesday night's opening game against the Washington Capitals. That's because the team had a Monday morning date with President Joe Biden at the White House to celebrate winning their first Stanley Cup. Captain Mark Stone and president of hockey operations George McPhee presented Biden with a gold No. 46 jersey and a golden hockey stick during the ceremony in the White House East Room. The Golden Knights, who lead the NHL with 25 points, then headed out to practice afterward and will open their five-game Eastern trip against a Washington team that is 6-1-1 over its last eight games. The Capitals also come in after posting back-to-back road regulation wins for the first time since Nov. 11-12, 2021, at Detroit and Columbus. Washington opened the weekend trip with a 4-2 win at New Jersey on Friday and followed that up with a 4-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Saturday, a contest that saw Alex Ovechkin score two goals and Hunter Shepard stop 36 of 37 shots in just his second NHL start. Ovechkin increased his career total to 826, 68 shy of Wayne Gretzky's NHL record of 864. He capped the win with his 56th career empty-net goal, tying Gretzky for first place in NHL history in that category. |
11-14-23 | Flames v. Canadiens OVER 6 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -120 | 9 h 10 m | Show |
The rebuilding Montreal Canadiens are off to a strong start this season -- albeit in big part thanks to their overtime success -- but received a valuable lesson about the importance of maintaining their focus in their last outing. Coming off Sunday's 5-2 loss to the visiting Vancouver Canucks that snapped a two-game winning streak, the Canadiens will look to regroup when they host the struggling Calgary Flames on Tuesday. Montreal claimed a thrilling overtime win over the Boston Bruins on Saturday but failed to match Vancouver's performance the next night. |
11-13-23 | Avalanche v. Seattle Kraken +130 | Top | 5-1 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 50 m | Show |
The Avs lost their last three road games by scores of 4-0 (at Pittsburgh), 4-0 (at Buffalo) and 7-0 (at Vegas). It's only the third time in NHL history that a team suffered three consecutive shutout losses on the road by a four-goal or larger margin. The other teams to do that are Chicago in March 1968 and the Minnesota North Stars in December 1974.
11-13-23 | Islanders +153 v. Oilers | 1-4 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 13 m | Show
Kris Knoblauch will be the fifth different head coach for the Oilers over the last six seasons, following Todd McLellan, Ken Hitchcock, Dave Tippett and Jay Woodcroft. That will tie them with the Flyers for the most head coaches utilized by an NHL team over that span.
11-13-23 | Islanders v. Oilers UNDER 6.5 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 10 m | Show |
Fans at UBS Arena chanted "Fire Lane Lambert!" as the clock wound down on the New York Islanders' fourth straight loss Saturday night. But about 15 hours later and 2,500 miles across the continent, the Edmonton Oilers were the ones to make a coaching change just in time for the Islanders to begin their potentially season-defining road trip. Kris Knoblauch will preside over the Oilers' bench in his NHL head-coaching debut Monday night, when Edmonton hosts the Islanders in a battle of teams mired in early-season skids. Both teams were off Sunday after playing Saturday. The Oilers snapped a four-game losing streak in Jay Woodcroft's final game by beating the host Seattle Kraken 4-1, while the Islanders' struggles continued with a 4-1 loss to the visiting Washington Capitals. The win wasn't enough to spare Woodcroft, who was fired along with assistant coach Dave Manson with the Oilers off to a 3-9-1 start. Edmonton replaced Mason with Paul Coffey, a Hockey Hall of Famer and franchise icon. The Oilers' seven points are the second-fewest in the NHL ahead of only the San Jose Sharks, whose 3-2 win over Edmonton on Thursday night was the final straw for general manager Ken Holland and CEO of hockey operations Jeff Jackson. |
11-12-23 | Blue Jackets v. Rangers -1.5 | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 21 m | Show |
The Rangers beat the Wild, 4-1, at home on Thursday, extending their point streak to nine games (8-0-1). It's their second point streak of 9+ games in this calendar year (10 games from Jan 23 -- Feb 18). Prior to that, they hadn't had one since October-November 2015 |
11-12-23 | Stars v. Wild +105 | Top | 8-3 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 36 m | Show |
The Dallas Stars will go for their third straight victory when they visit the Minnesota Wild on Sunday evening in St. Paul, Minn. Dallas just notched road wins against the Winnipeg Jets and the Columbus Blue Jackets in the past three days. The Stars have won nine of their first 13 games and are in first place in the Western Conference's Central Division. Stars coach Peter DeBoer likes what he is seeing from his team as it prepares to face Minnesota. Dallas will be playing on short rest after a 3-2 win over Winnipeg on Saturday evening. |
11-12-23 | Blackhawks v. Panthers OVER 6.5 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 1 h 13 m | Show
The Blackhawks beat the Lightning, 5-3, in Tampa on Thursday. They've scored at least four goals in all five of their wins and have been held to three or fewer in all seven losses. They're also 4-1-0 when scoring a power-play goal (1-for-5 on Thursday) and 1-6-0 when they don't.
11-11-23 | Oilers -122 v. Seattle Kraken | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 11 h 36 m | Show
How low can the Edmonton Oilers go? The Oilers reached another depth Thursday night with a 3-2 road loss against the San Jose Sharks, a team that lost its first 11 games of the season. That dropped Edmonton into a tie with the Sharks with an NHL-low five points heading into Saturday night's game at Seattle. It is not exactly where the Oilers, considered a strong Stanley Cup contender, expected to be at this point of the season. The Oilers have lost four straight and eight of their past nine games. Their five points are tied with the 1993-94 team for the fewest through 12 games in franchise history. |
11-11-23 | Bruins v. Canadiens +1.5 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 43 m | Show |
The Boston Bruins have started piling up the wins for a second straight season. While last season's Bruins surged to an NHL-best 65 victories, the competitive nature of games this season has been much tighter despite an 11-1-1 start. The Bruins' 23 points matched the champion Vegas Golden Knights for tops in the league heading into Friday's action. Boston heads north for a Saturday night matchup with the Atlantic Division rival Montreal Canadiens having won five of its last six games. The Bruins played in four straight one-goal contests prior to Thursday's 5-2 win over the New York Islanders. |
11-11-23 | Hurricanes -1.5 v. Lightning | Top | 4-0 | Win | 210 | 8 h 30 m | Show |
The fact that Tampa Bay finally took a home loss in regulation on Thursday was not the issue for the Lightning. It was how it all went down. The Lightning, who host the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, saw Chicago rookie Connor Bedard turn in his best career performance in just over one period of play as the Blackhawks stormed back from two early deficits in a 5-3 win. Bedard, 18, posted two goals and two assists for a 4-2 lead that Tampa Bay could not overcome. Tampa Bay's Nikita Kucherov notched his team-leading 11th goal, giving him five tallies in four games. |
11-10-23 | Sharks v. Golden Knights UNDER 6.5 | 0-5 | Win | 100 | 12 h 38 m | Show
The Vegas Golden Knights will try to snap their first losing streak of the season on Friday night when they face the San Jose Sharks in Las Vegas. The Golden Knights, tied with the Boston Bruins for the most points in the NHL with 23 thanks to a season-opening 12-game point streak, come in off back-to-back regulation losses on the road against the Anaheim Ducks (4-2 on Sunday) and at home against the Los Angeles Kings (4-1 on Wednesday). It marks the first time since a three-game skid from Jan. 14-19 last season that Vegas lost back-to-back games in regulation. |
11-10-23 | Capitals v. Devils -171 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -171 | 9 h 45 m | Show |
The New Jersey Devils will battle the Washington Capitals Friday night in Newark, N.J., in a game that will have a hard time matching the action from their last encounter. Washington visited New Jersey on Oct. 25, and that night the Capitals scored the only three goals in the first period, the Devils notched all four in the second and the Capitals scored three in the third for a 6-4 win. That game is notable for being the only time this season Washington has scored more than three goals, as the Capitals rank 31st in the league with an average of two goals per game. Captain Alex Ovechkin -- in pursuit of Wayne Gretzky's goals record -- has scored twice in 11 games for new coach Spencer Carbery. |
11-10-23 | Hurricanes v. Panthers +115 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 115 | 9 h 35 m | Show |
The Carolina Hurricanes are the kings of overtime -- in the regular season, at least. On Friday night, the Hurricanes are set to visit the Florida Panthers in Sunrise, Fla. Both teams have won two straight games. But Carolina is working on a much more impressive streak, winning 10 straight regular-season games over the past year that have been settled in overtime. It's tied for the second-longest streak in NHL history. On Tuesday, Carolina beat the visiting Buffalo Sabres, 3-2, on Martin Necas' overtime goal. Sebastian Aho had the primary assist, making the pass that led to Necas' deflection. |
11-09-23 | Oilers -1.5 v. Sharks | 2-3 | Loss | -133 | 13 h 56 m | Show
The two teams with the fewest points in the NHL square off on Thursday night when the Edmonton Oilers visit the San Jose Sharks. It's no surprise the rebuilding Sharks have started slowly, tying an NHL record with an 11-game winless streak to start the season before grinding out a 2-1 victory over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night. But the fact that Edmonton, led by arguably the two best players on the planet in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl and expected to challenge for the Western Conference crown, comes into the contest with just two wins and five points after 11 games is head-scratching. The Oilers have lost three straight games and seven of their last eight games (1-6-1), including a 6-2 loss at Vancouver on Monday. McDavid, the reigning Hart Trophy winner as the league's MVP after leading the NHL in goals (64), assists (89) and points (153) last season, is in the midst of a six-game goal drought and has just two goals and 10 points so far this season. He did miss two games with an upper-body injury suffered in the fifth game against Winnipeg and speculation has arisen that he isn't close to being 100 percent healthy. |
11-09-23 | Islanders +130 v. Bruins | Top | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
The Islanders have gone just 1-1-2 since banking back-to-back wins twice within their first seven games. Tuesday's 4-2 home loss to the Minnesota Wild was their first regulation setback since Oct. 24. The lone win during the current run was Semyon Varlamov's 32-save effort in a 3-0 shutout victory in Washington last Thursday. Maine native Oliver Wahlstrom, who was a healthy scratch for two games before aligning with captain Anders Lee and Mathew Barzal against the Wild, scored his first goal, took four shots, and blocked two. Noah Dobson also scored a goal, but the Isles were shut out in the third period and now have a minus-5 goal differential (7-2) in the final frame over their last four games. On the whole, coach Lane Lambert believes his team needs to re-establish its identity. |
11-09-23 | Blackhawks v. Lightning -1.5 | Top | 5-3 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 22 m | Show |
On an evening when two players had memorable outings, the Tampa Bay Lightning closed out an erratic four-game road trip in Montreal on Tuesday with a win before a brief two-game homestand. Tampa Bay will host the young Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night -- two clubs who famously met in the 2015 Stanley Cup Final. The Lightning lost that championship series in six games, and there was no Cup-like celebration in the Tampa Bay dressing room after Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Canadiens. But there was still plenty of joy in the legendary Quebec building from the visiting side. The team celebrated the first career NHL win of 29-year-old goaltender Matt Tomkins, who was brought in to support Jonas Johansson when star netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy underwent back surgery during camp. |
11-08-23 | Kings v. Golden Knights -120 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -120 | 10 h 3 m | Show |
After dominating the headlines with their season-opening 12-game point streak, the Vegas Golden Knights find themselves on the other end of streak talk when they host the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night in Las Vegas. The defending Stanley Cup champion Golden Knights suffered their first regulation loss of the season on Sunday at Anaheim, allowing four consecutive third-period goals to the Ducks in a 4-2 loss. That snapped a streak of 20 straight games without a regulation loss (16-0-4) in the regular season for Vegas dating back to March 28 when it lost to Edmonton, 7-4. The Golden Knights also opened the season with seven straight victories before suffering an overtime loss to Montreal, the best start in NHL history for a defending Stanley Cup champion. Now the focus turns to the Kings. Los Angeles opened the season with six straight road wins, the best mark in the NHL, and has won three straight overall. The six-game road winning streak is the longest for the Kings since they won eight in a row in 2014. |
11-08-23 | Panthers v. Capitals UNDER 6.5 | 4-3 | Loss | -114 | 8 h 37 m | Show
The Washington Capitals have started to turn a corner after a rough start and will try to stay on that path when they host the Florida Panthers on Wednesday. The Capitals have won four of their past five games after winning just once in their first five. They're coming off a 2-1 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday, a contest in which they scored first for just the second time this season. Washington has scored 19 goals in 10 games thus far, the second-fewest total in the NHL, ahead of only the San Jose Sharks (12). Eight of those have come in the first period, putting them in the bottom five in the NHL entering Tuesday's schedule. Center Evgeny Kuznetsov missed practice Monday and Tuesday due to illness. Coach Spencer Carbery said Tuesday that they'll play it by ear as to whether Kuznetsov will face the Panthers. |
11-08-23 | Senators v. Maple Leafs -165 | Top | 6-3 | Loss | -165 | 9 h 60 m | Show |
The Ottawa Senators visit the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday night looking to overcome their early struggles. The Senators were booed in Saturday's 6-4 home loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning and the fans chanted for coach D.J. Smith to be fired. The Senators have lost five of their past six games. The Maple Leafs also have had recent struggles. They ended a four-game losing streak Monday with a 6-5 home overtime win against Tampa Bay. They overcame a 4-1 deficit after one period to take a 5-4 lead, only to allow the tying goal late in the third period. |
11-07-23 | Devils +157 v. Avalanche | 3-6 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 30 m | Show
The Colorado Avalanche injected offense into their lineup in the offseason hoping to alleviate the scoring burden from their top line. It started out well, but now Colorado isn't getting secondary scoring -- or any scoring at all. The Avalanche have lost three of their past four games, getting shut out in all three setbacks, and have hit a funk after starting the season with six straight wins. They will try to break out of it when they host the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night at Denver. |
11-07-23 | Jets -135 v. Blues | Top | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 26 m | Show |
The Jets are coming off a 5-3 victory at Arizona Saturday. They rallied from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits against the Coyotes to snap their three-game winless streak. The Jets got three goals from supporting cast winger Nino Niederreiter and two from Dillon in the victory. Interim coach Scott Arniel challenged his defensemen to get more involved offensively and Dillon responded with the first two-goal game of his career. |
11-07-23 | Wild v. Islanders UNDER 6 | Top | 4-2 | Push | 0 | 10 h 7 m | Show |
The New York Islanders didn't like suffering another loss Saturday in which they squandered a multi-goal lead. The Minnesota Wild, on the other hand, found out they liked life on the other side of that equation. A pair of teams coming off eventful games are slated to meet for the first time this season Tuesday night, when the Islanders host the Wild in Elmont, N.Y. Both teams have been off since Saturday. The Islanders frittered away a three-goal lead and fell to the visiting Carolina Hurricanes, 4-3, in overtime. The Wild overcame a three-goal deficit and edged the host New York Rangers, 5-4, in the shootout. For the Islanders, the loss was the second in a six-day span in which they blew a multi-goal lead. New York scored the first two goals against the Detroit Red Wings in a 4-3 overtime loss on Oct. 30. The Islanders also allowed a pair of unanswered goals after taking a 2-0 lead against the Buffalo Sabres on Oct. 14 and against the Ottawa Senators on Oct. 26. New York earned 3-2 victories in each of those games (FLM) |
11-06-23 | Oilers v. Canucks UNDER 7 | 2-6 | Loss | -123 | 13 h 36 m | Show
The Vancouver Canucks will attempt to extend their point streak to eight games when they host the Edmonton Oilers on Monday. Vancouver is 6-0-1 in its past seven games and has yet to lose in regulation (4-0-1) on home ice this season. Both of those streaks were extended in Saturday's 2-0 shutout of the Dallas Stars, a particularly impressive win for the Canucks against tough competition. The Canucks took control in the second period, outshooting the Stars 14-5 and scoring both of their goals. I very rarely go over seven goals. |
11-06-23 | Bruins +120 v. Stars | Top | 3-2 | Win | 120 | 11 h 43 m | Show |
The Dallas Stars host the Boston Bruins in a Monday night clash of early-season NHL heavyweights who are looking to shake off tough weekend losses. Boston let an early 2-0 lead slip away for the second straight game and later surrendered three third-period goals in Saturday's 5-4 loss at Detroit, its first regulation setback of the season. Now 9-1-1, the Bruins did not have defensemen Charlie McAvoy (who is appealing a four-game suspension for an illegal check to the head), Matt Grzelcyk and Derek Forbort available to begin their two-game road trip. Instead, the back line featured 22-year-old Mason Lohrei playing only his second NHL game, as well as Parker Wotherspoon and Ian Mitchell, who have 14 and 86 games under their belts, respectively. |
11-06-23 | Lightning v. Maple Leafs OVER 6.5 | Top | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be out to improve their defense and end a four-game losing streak when they meet the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning Monday night. The Maple Leafs opened a five-game homestand with a 6-4 loss to the Buffalo Sabres Saturday despite a hat trick by Auston Matthews. Mitchell Marner added a goal and three assists. The Lightning, meanwhile, did not waste a hat trick by Brayden Point Saturday when they defeated the host Ottawa Senators 6-4. Nikita Kucherov added a goal and four assists. The Sabres, who had lost 5-1 to the Philadelphia Flyers at home on Friday, had more energy than Toronto. |
11-05-23 | Golden Knights v. Ducks +155 | 2-4 | Win | 155 | 9 h 13 m | Show
Anaheim is on a five-game win streak, its longest since an eight-game streak that ended in November of 2021. The Ducks have allowed two or more goals in all five wins. The team record for the longest win streak while also allowing multiple goals is six (three times).
11-05-23 | Golden Knights v. Ducks OVER 6 | Top | 2-4 | Push | 0 | 9 h 10 m | Show |
Revived under new head coach Greg Cronin, the Anaheim Ducks will be put to the test Sunday night when they host the reigning Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights. Cronin was begging for some selfishness from his forwards early in the season, saying they seemed more interested in making the perfect pass. While imploring for more shots, he was really interested in his scorers taking shots as soon as those shots presented themselves. After a home 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins on Oct. 22, Cronin said he was going to establish a "value system" as a way to reward opportunities on net. The plan: "We're going to just shoot pucks." The Ducks have since pieced together a five-game winning streak that included three overtime victories, including a 4-3 triumph in extra time at home over the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday. Troy Terry completed a hat trick against the Coyotes by scoring in overtime. |
11-05-23 | Devils v. Blackhawks +1.5 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -130 | 8 h 22 m | Show |
Sunday night's game between the Chicago Blackhawks and visiting New Jersey Devils initially shaped up as a matchup of two of the past five top overall picks in the NHL draft. An upper-body injury to New Jersey star forward Jack Hughes, however, figures to shine more of the spotlight on Chicago's Connor Bedard, the No. 1 selection in 2023. Hughes' status remained uncertain after he left during the first period of Friday's 4-1 loss at St. Louis. Hughes, the top draft choice in 2019, crashed into the boards midway through the period while splitting the Blues' defense. He returned for his next shift but went to the locker room shortly thereafter. Sportsnet reported the Devils "avoided the worst-case scenario" with Hughes, who is expected to miss some playing time due to the injury. |
11-04-23 | Avalanche -1.5 v. Golden Knights | Top | 0-7 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 11 m | Show |
The Avalanche look to extend their road winning streak over the Golden Knights to five games. Colorado won the only meeting in Las Vegas between the teams in 2022-23, and won 3-0 at home in the most recent matchup February 27 behind a 31-save effort from Alexandar Georgiev.
11-04-23 | Bruins v. Red Wings +125 | 4-5 | Win | 125 | 8 h 14 m | Show
The Red Wings are 6-1-0 in their last seven home games against the Bruins, including a 5-3 win in the Bruins' only game in Detroit last season (March 12).
11-04-23 | Predators v. Oilers -1.5 | Top | 5-2 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 18 m | Show |
The Oilers look to run their point streak against the Predators to 13 games as they meet for the second time this season. Edmonton improved to 10-0-2 in the last 12 matchups with a 6-1 rout at Nashville on October 17 as Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman each had four-point efforts.
11-03-23 | Devils v. Blues OVER 6.5 | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -120 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
The Blues will need a breakthrough Friday when they host the streaking New Jersey Devils on Friday night. The Blues have lost their last two games, 5-0 at Vancouver and 4-2 at Colorado, while the Devils have won five of their last six. Blues coach Craig Berube juggled his forward line combinations, defensive pairings and power-play units ahead of Wednesday night's loss to the Avalanche. Despite those changes, the Blues faded to their third loss in their last four games. The Blues are just 1-for-25 on the power play this season and they have struggled to generate chances at even strength as well. Thomas is the team's leading scorer with six points (two goals, four assists). Key forwards Jordan Kyrou, Pavel Buchnevich and Jakub Vrana have scored just one goal each while Brayden Schenn and Kevin Hayes have yet to score. Defenseman Justin Faulk said the Blues have to keep grinding away to create breaks. The Blues give us just enough to push this over. |
11-03-23 | Devils -148 v. Blues | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -148 | 10 h 12 m | Show |
After scoring just 15 goals in their first eight games, the St. Louis Blues are getting desperate to generate offense. |

11-03-23 | Flyers v. Sabres -165 | 5-1 | Loss | -165 | 9 h 16 m | Show
The Sabres will aim for their second win over the Philadelphia Flyers in three nights when the two clubs meet in Buffalo on Friday. The quick rematch comes after a 5-2 Sabres victory Wednesday in Philadelphia, a result that Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim found "frustrating" for his team. The Flyers outshot Buffalo by a lopsided 40-15 margin, and Joel Farabee scored to give Philadelphia the early lead just 55 seconds into the game. The score was tied 2-2 after the first period, however, and the Sabres eventually vaulted ahead on three unanswered third-period goals. |

11-02-23 | Predators v. Seattle Kraken UNDER 6 | Top | 2-4 | Push | 0 | 12 h 25 m | Show |
After playing seven of their first 10 games on the road, the Seattle Kraken are ready for some home cooking. The Kraken will have eight home games in November, starting with Thursday night's matchup against the Nashville Predators. The Kraken just completed a four-game trip against the Detroit Red Wings, Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning in which they went 2-1-1, with both victories coming in overtime. Jared McCann scored a power-play goal 2:53 into the extra session, his team-leading fifth marker of the season, in a 4-3 victory Monday against the Lightning, whom the Kraken had not beaten in four previous tries. 11-02-23 | Islanders v. Capitals OVER 5.5 | Top | 3-0 | Loss | -108 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
The Washington Capitals aim to win their fourth straight game on Thursday when they host the New York Islanders. The Capitals began their winning streak with a 6-4 victory in New Jersey before capturing the first two contests of their five-game homestand. Washington followed up a 3-2 shootout win over the Minnesota Wild last Friday with a 3-1 victory over the winless San Jose Sharks on Sunday. Rugged Tom Wilson, fellow forward Dylan Strome and superstar captain Alex Ovechkin are picking up steam on an individual basis. Wilson recorded his 300th career point, scoring for the second time in as many games on Sunday. He is riding a four-game point streak (two goals, two assists). Strome has scored in three straight games to boost his team-leading goal total to six. (FLM) |

11-02-23 | Lightning -150 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -150 | 9 h 21 m | Show |
The Columbus Blue Jackets have not had the start to the new campaign they wanted, but perhaps the best strategy Thursday would be to somehow take the Tampa Bay Lightning to overtime. Winning just three of its first nine games, the Metro Division club hosts the Lightning in the first of three matchups, two of them taking place in Ohio's capital. If Thursday's contest does go to overtime, something will ultimately have to give or go to a shootout. Columbus is 0-2 in the three-on-three, five-minute extra session. It lost consecutive games in late October to Anaheim and Montreal, as the Ducks' Frank Vatrano and the Canadiens' Cole Caufield dashed any hopes of a first overtime win with game-winners. In the Ducks game that started two hours late due to a power outage in and around the Columbus arena, Blue Jackets coach Pascal Vincent said his offense's power shortage caused the match to head to overtime and Vatrano's extra-time, breakaway tally. 11-01-23 | Blues v. Avalanche UNDER 6.5 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 10 m | Show |
The Colorado offense was scary to begin this season, but now it's scary how cold the Avalanche are with the puck. Colorado won its first six games by averaging 4.7 goals a game but has been held scoreless in its past two. The Avalanche hope to find the back of the net again when they host the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night. Colorado's struggles on the offensive end were a little surprising, especially coming on the road against Pittsburgh and Buffalo, two teams struggling at the onset of the year. The Avalanche managed just 23 shots on goal against the Sabres while suffering consecutive shutout losses for the first time in seven years. |

11-01-23 | Stars v. Flames +120 | 4-3 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 46 m | Show
The Flames will receive a boost with top-pair defenseman Rasmus Andersson slated to return after serving his four-game suspension. Calgary also summoned 2020 first-round draft pick Connor Zary from the AHL. Zary, a center and left wing in his third pro season, leads the Calgary Wranglers with 10 points (one goal, nine assists) in six games. I think the Flames catch Dallas napping tonight. |
11-01-23 | Sabres v. Flyers OVER 6.5 | Top | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 12 m | Show |
The Flyers, who have dropped four of five their past five overall (1-3-1), are struggling to find a way to close out games. The Sabres started fast and played that way the whole game on Sunday. The pace was much better. |
10-31-23 | Predators v. Canucks -127 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 10 m | Show
The Vancouver Canucks are off to a surprisingly hot start to the season, and will not allow the frustration of their last outing to carry forward when they host the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. The Canucks saw their three-game winning streak snapped with a 4-3 overtime loss to the New York Rangers on Saturday, but that defeat is not the kind that should drop their spirits. Other than New York taking advantage with its power play -- all three Rangers goals in regulation came on the man-advantage -- the Canucks controlled the bulk of the play. |
10-31-23 | Predators v. Canucks UNDER 6 | Top | 2-5 | Loss | -120 | 10 h 6 m | Show |
The Predators have allowed two or fewer goals in each of their four wins this season and three or more goals in each of their four losses. Last season, Nashville was 28-4-2 when allowing no more than two goals and 14-28-6 when its opponent scored at least three goals.

10-31-23 | Kings v. Maple Leafs -1.5 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 14 m | Show |
10-30-23 | Canadiens v. Golden Knights -1.5 | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 41 m | Show
The Vegas Golden Knights will try to increase their season-opening point streak to double-digits on Monday night when they host the Montreal Canadiens in Las Vegas. The Golden Knights, who opened the season with an NHL record seven straight wins for a defending Stanley Cup champion, bounced back from a 4-3 overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night to win the second game of a back-to-back, 4-3, in a shootout at Los Angeles on Saturday night. Jack Eichel scored in the first round of the shootout and Logan Thompson, who had 36 saves in regulation, made it hold up with three more stops in the shootout, the final one coming with a glove save of a Kevin Fiala try. Vegas brings a nine-game points streak (8-0-1, 17 points) into Monday's contest. The last two teams to start a season with that long of a streak were the Florida Panthers (10-0-1, 21 points) and Carolina Hurricanes (9-0-0, 18 points) in the 2021-22 season. (FLM) |
10-30-23 | Ducks v. Penguins UNDER 6.5 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 47 m | Show |
The Anaheim Ducks will be looking to polish off a perfect four-game road trip Monday when they meet the Pittsburgh Penguins. It took overtime for the Ducks to win at Columbus and Boston, before Saturday's visit to Philadelphia. They made it 3-0-0 on the trip with a dominating performance in a 7-4 win over the Flyers. I don't expect the Ducks to explode for 7 goals in this one. |
10-30-23 | Seattle Kraken v. Lightning -150 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -150 | 10 h 38 m | Show |
The Seattle Kraken get set for one final contest in Florida with a clear goal of finally beating the Tampa Bay Lightning. Winless in four tries against the Atlantic Division club and owning just two wins in nine games thus far, Seattle will try to add to the win column when it plays the Lightning on Monday night. It will have to forget what happened Saturday in Sunrise -- in fact, leaving that memory in South Florida would be a good start. Tied at 2 with the Florida Panthers in the waning minutes of regulation and possibly headed for overtime, Seattle goaltender Joey Daccord committed a game-changing error by going to retrieve a puck that appeared destined to travel behind his net. Instead, the puck caromed oddly off the stanchion and into the low slot, where Florida's Nick Cousins scooped in the game-winner with 5:52 left as his club beat Seattle for the second time in five career meetings. 10-29-23 | Flames v. Oilers -145 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
The Flames have lost four straight games with each loss coming by multiple goals. Calgary has not had a streak of at least five consecutive games with a loss by two or more goals since a seven-game streak in March 2018.

10-29-23 | Wild v. Devils OVER 6.5 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 4 m | Show |
The Wild attempt to beat the Devils for the sixth straight time as the teams meet for the first time in 2023-24. Minnesota, which carries a nine-game point streak (7-0-2) against New Jersey into this contest, completed a sweep of last season's series with a 2-1 overtime road win on March 21 on Matt Boldy's goal with 1.3 seconds to play. 10-29-23 | Avalanche -165 v. Sabres | 0-4 | Loss | -165 | 4 h 10 m | Show
The Avalanche suffered their first loss of the season with a 4-0 defeat in Pittsburgh on Thursday. They became the third team in NHL history to see a season-opening winning streak of at least six games come to an end with a shutout loss, joining the 1993-94 (seven games) and 1934-35 Maple Leafs (eight games). You can bet the Avalanche will come out fire a massive chip on their shoulder.Â
10-28-23 | Maple Leafs v. Predators +126 | 2-3 | Win | 126 | 10 h 11 m | Show
The Maple Leafs had just 17 shots on goal in their 4-1 win at Washington on Tuesday and 24 shots on goal in their 4-1 win at Dallas on Thursday. It's the first time they won consecutive games by a three-goal or larger margin despite having fewer than 25 shots on goal in each game since April 1-3, 1999 (5-1 wins at Edmonton and Calgary, 23 SOG in each game).

10-28-23 | Jets v. Canadiens +140 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 140 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
The Winnipeg Jets appear to have overcome their rough start. Meanwhile, the young Montreal Canadiens seem to be overachieving out of the gate. The visiting Jets will aim for a fourth consecutive victory on Saturday night against the pesky Canadiens, who have won three of their last four. Winnipeg allowed 19 goals while losing three of its first four games but has surrendered just five in winning three straight since that dismal beginning. Connor Hellebuyck stopped 35 shots while Mason Appleton and Nino Niederreiter each had a goal with an assist during the Jets' 4-1 victory at Detroit on Thursday. (FLM) |
10-28-23 | Islanders -148 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 10 h 6 m | Show |
The New York Islanders won on Thursday night despite being whistled for nine penalties. The Columbus Blue Jackets weren't as fortunate after an eight-penalty evening. A pair of teams looking to spend less time on the penalty kill will play each other for the first time this season, when the Islanders visit the Blue Jackets in a battle of Metropolitan Division rivals on Saturday night. Both teams were off Friday following their eventful games Thursday, when the host Islanders edged the Ottawa Senators 3-2 and the visiting Blue Jackets suffered a 4-3 overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Noah Dobson scored the game-winner for the Islanders 6:45 into the third period which was shortly after New York -- which committed all of its penalties in the first two periods, including seven in the second -- killed off a 5-on-3 and a 5-on-4 within the first two minutes of the final stanza. |
10-27-23 | Blues v. Canucks OVER 6 | Top | 0-5 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 37 m | Show |
After winning three times on a five-game road trip, the Vancouver Canucks believe their game is in a good place as they return home. They carry momentum into opening their three-game homestand, which begins Friday against the St. Louis Blues. The Canucks enter the matchup off back-to-back victories at Florida and Nashville. Pettersson has two goals and eight assists in six games. Brock Boeser is the team's top goal-scorer with six, while J.T. Miller (two goals, six assists) is also off to a strong start. Last season, the Canucks ranked dead last in the NHL in penalty killing at just 71.6 percent. This season they showed immediate improvement with two victories over the explosive Edmonton Oilers. Overall, the Canucks have killed 78.3 percent of their penalties this season, which ranks in the middle of the pack. Goaltender Thatcher Demko (2-2-0, 2.57 goals-against average) said the team has done a better job of denying seam passes from side to side. |

10-27-23 | Sharks v. Hurricanes OVER 6 | Top | 0-3 | Loss | -115 | 7 h 57 m | Show |
Having halted an early-season slide, the Carolina Hurricanes now set their sights on extending the misery of the San Jose Sharks. The Hurricanes can keep the visiting Sharks winless by beating them for the second time in 10 days Friday night. Things have hardly been easy for Carolina, which has split its first eight games, and needed to rally from a late 2-1 deficit for Thursday's 3-2 overtime victory over Seattle that snapped a three-game losing streak. Martin Necas' second goal of the night, and fourth this season, came with 9.7 seconds remaining in the extra session. Meanwhile, Carolina held its first opponent to fewer than three goals this season and did not yield an opponent power-play goal after giving up eight in the previous four games. The Hurricanes are 2-4 since opening with back-to-back victories. |
