This Week 5 matchup features the Titans traveling to Miami to face the Dolphins.
The Titans come in off of an embarrassing loss to the Texans, while the Dolphins were shut out by the Saints in London.
The last time the Titans and the Dolphins matched up was in 2016 when the Titans came out ahead 30-17.
The Titans were struggling for much of the game until Marcus Mariota went out with a knee injury. At that point Mariota had thrown for only 96 yards and had two interceptions, so a loss was still surely on the horizon.
Matt Cassell came in to replace him and did not fare much better, as he went 4/10 for a paltry 21 yards and two interceptions himself.
The Dolphins have a strong defensive line led by NDamukong Suh, and were able to hold the Saints high powered offense to just 20 points.
The Titans running attack didn’t do much against the Texas defense either, as Derrick Henry ran the ball 7 times for 31 yards and DeMarco Murray had 6 carries for 7 yards. If they can’t run the ball effectively it will be a long day for the offense.
With Mariota’s status for the game up in the air don’t expect the Titans offense to put up a bunch of points.
The Titans defense played horribly against rookie DeShaun Watson and the Texans offense, giving up 5 total touchdowns to the rookie.
They will be facing Jay Cutler who couldn’t lead the offense to any point against one of the poorest secondaries in the league, so expect them to play much better this week.
The Dolphins didn’t put up much of a challenge against the Saints in London, getting shut out and not showing much fight.
Jay Cutler was 20/28 for 164 yards and an interception, with a terrible 5.8 yards per attempt.
The running game didn’t do much either, as Jay Ajayi ran the ball 12 times for only 46 yards and didn’t find the end zone.
DeVante Parker was the only bright spot for the Dolphins offense, as he caught 6 passes for 69 yards. He has been one of Cutler’s most consistent targets all season, and has 4 or more receptions in each game.
I don’t expect the offense to struggle as much as they did in London, but they will put up 30+ points against a defense smarting from a humiliating loss.
The Dolphins defense did a pretty good job against the Saints, as Drew Brees was 29-41 with 2 touchdown passes and 268 yards through the air.
If the secondary can put up a similar type of performance against the Titans it should lead to a Dolphins victory.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Dolphins +3
This will be a very close game, but the Titans should come out on top with a late score.
NFL Free Week 5 Score Prediction: Titans 20 – Dolphins 18
Marcus Mariota will make enough plays to pull out the victory.
The Dolphins will beat the spread but not by much.
