Seattle continued to impress with a big win over Dallas this past Sunday to remain undefeated. Russell Wilson had another amazing performance to strengthen his MVP case.
Miami actually looked better last Thursday Night against Jacksonville to pick up their first win. They will have a much taller task here against the Seahawks.
Seattle Seahawks
Speaking of the win for Seattle on Sunday, they beat Dallas 38-31. This was a game that went back and forth, but Russell Wilson threw for 315 yards and five touchdowns. He completed 27 of his 40 passes too, for a 67.5% completion rate.
The Seahawks have so many receiving weapons as well, seeing that DK Metcalf had 110 yards and a touchdown and Tyler Lockett had 100 yards and three touchdowns. Greg Olsen also added 61 yards receiving to help complement their main targets.
As for their ground game, they had 117 rushing yards, so it could have been better, but with the passing game as strong as it was, they did not need to run the ball.
The Seattle defense still needs to improve greatly after giving up 522 total yards to the Cowboys. Dak Prescott threw for 472 yards, so clearly their secondary needs work, regardless on who they play. The good news is their rushing defense was very good, holding the Cowboys to 61 yards rushing.
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins beat the Jags easily last Thursday, winning by a score of 31-13. It was their first win of the season, but still, it is not like they played a Super Bowl caliber team by any means.
Ryan Fitzpatrick or “Fitzmagic” as he is known around the league had a solid game, though he only threw for 160 yards. He did not throw a pick however, and completed 18 of his 20 passes. Plus, he ran for 38 yards and scored a touchdown with his legs.
The Dolphins also had a decent game on the ground, picking up a total of 138 yards. Though their leading rusher, Myles Gaskin had 66 yards on 22 carries, so his yards per carry was only 3.0.
The Miami defense did a decent job in containing Gardner Minshew, holding him to zero touchdowns. Minshew threw for 275 yards, but it did not matter in the end because he could not punch it in. The Miami defense also forced two turnover which were drive killers for the Jaguars.
Their rush defense also looked improved, holding Jacksonville to 72 rushing yards. The Jaguars running back did have two touchdowns, but only had 46 yards on the ground.
