The first-place Seahawks will be visiting the last-place Cardinals on Sunday, November 6th for this NFC West collision.
Seattle comes into this game with a three-game winning streak and will look to keep that going while the Cardinals will be looking to get back into the win column after their loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
These teams met back on October 16th and it was Seattle who won by a score of 19-9. I know that their opponent is an improved team this season, but it would be a very bad look for Arizona if they lost to them both times in the regular season.
When the odds opened up, it was the Cardinals that were favored by 4 points, but that number came down quickly and is right around 2 in most spots. There has been a slight adjustment in the total, as it is up to 50.5 from an opening number of 49.5.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks have definitely not been a flashy team to this point, but they keep on playing solid football and it is hard not to be impressed by what Pete Carroll & co. have been able to do thus far.
For a team that seemed like they were just a good story, they have really been able to find something with their crew and I am not convinced that it is coming to an end.
It took some time for them to get it going, but I was really impressed by how they were able to handle the Giants on Sunday with a 27-13 victory.
Even when the game was close, I never really got the feeling that their opponent was going to do enough to win the game. Seattle did a nice job of controlling the game, which eventually led to the win.
On defense, their plan was really not all that complicated when facing the Giants. They really wanted to limit what Saquon Barkley did on the ground and force Daniel Jones to beat them through the air, which they were able to execute very effectively.
Barkley had a few nice runs here and there, but for the most part, he was a non-factor, which played right into what the Seahawks wanted. That is certainly a good sign for this defensive unit, which has had some struggles this season.
As far as the offense went, Geno Smith and his crew continued to be solid on that side of the field. The defense for the Giants made it challenging for a while to move the ball, but they did a better job of finding holes as the game went on.
Kenneth Walker certainly was not as explosive as he was in the prior weeks and he was bottled up for the majority of the game on Sunday, but he did a nice job of breaking some tackles at the end and scoring a key touchdown for his team.
Even with the ground game not being where they wanted it to be, Geno Smith did a nice job of staying calm and making the necessary throws and reads to find open targets.
The New York defense was quite aggressive and they mixed up their looks to try and confuse him, but he really was not rattled. I liked the way he was able to take what the defense gave him and did not try and be a hero out there.
Smith finished completing 23/34 passes for 212 yards and 2 touchdowns. If he can continue to put up those numbers and not turn the ball over, it is very reasonable that this team continues to play at a high level.
Seattle will look to put some separation between themselves and the Cardinals when they square off on Sunday. Coming into play, they lead Arizona by 2 games and they definitely have a shot at getting it to 3.
When these teams met for the first time, the Seahawks did a good of defending Kyler Murray through the air, but they did struggle to stop him on the ground, as he ran for 100 yards on 10 attempts.
Being able to hold them to that few points might not be reasonable once again, but this defense does have the capability of keeping them in check. If they can get a consistent pass rush on Murray and not allow Hopkins to really take over, they should not get torched as they did often in the earlier part of the season.
The defense for Arizona has been questionable this season and I would look for the Seahawks to do a lot of what the Vikings did last week with Dalvin Cook, who ran all over them. Of course, Smith is going to have to make some big throws, but it really should be a heavy dose of Kenneth Walker.
Arizona Cardinals
Despite having a lot of pre-season hype, the Cardinals just have not looked all that impressive and it is hard to imagine them really turning it around.
At 3-5, they are certainly not done for the season, but they have better start playing more consistently if they wish to get back into the playoffs and do some damage.
In their 34-26 loss to the Vikings on Sunday, it was a very familiar script for them. Although they did squander some opportunities, scoring points was not the main issue they encountered, but being able to prevent points was a real challenge for them.
As I noted earlier, their leaky defense had a hard time stopping Dalvin Cook and they did not do much better when trying to slow down Kirk Cousins and his assortment of weapons.
For the most part, Arizona is going to have to put up a lot of points in order to beat their opponent because it is hard to count on their defense to really win them a game.
On offense, I did like some of what I saw against Minnesota, but there still were some areas that just have to get cleaned up in if they want to get where they need to be.
Kyler Murray certainly saw some good and bad results in the loss, as he completed over 70% of his passes and threw for 3 touchdowns, but he also made some questionable decisions and threw 2 interceptions.
We all knew the return of DeAndre Hopkins was going to be huge for this offense and he once again delivered last time out with 12 catches for nearly 160 yards and a touchdown.
That is definitely a great sign and something they will look to keep up, but the offense was not very balanced in this one, which is a bit concerning.
Murray did not do any real damage with his legs in their last loss and neither did any other runner. The trio of Eno Benjamin, Rondale Moore, and Darrel Williams combined for 42 yards on 16 carries, which is just not acceptable.
Sure, they are not going to be facing as talented of a defense this week, but Seattle has gotten better in that area and I do not think it will be easy for these guys to just move the ball up and down the field for the whole game.
On defense, they are going to be in a similar situation when attempting to slow down rookie Kenneth Walker, who is emerging as one of the best young backs in the league. The Giants were mostly able to bottle him up, but he still showed his home run-hitting ability when he broke loose for the touchdown.
The bottom line is there needs to be some corrections made on both sides of the field if they want to knock off a tricky divisional opponent and avoid losing to them for a second time this season.

4* Free Week 9 NFL Betting Prediction: Seahawks +2 (-110)
The Seahawks have really been impressive so far and I do not see them letting up in a key game like this.
On the other side, I am not loving what the Cardinals are doing right about now and am not sold they are just going to turn it around.
It would not surprise me if Seattle looks to attack Arizona similarly to how they attacked the Giants. I look for Kenneth Walker to keep up his productivity on the ground to go along with Smith making the right plays and staying away from the dangerous throws.
Arizona certainly has enough to be in this game and win it, but the points are too many for me to lay in this spot.
