Rams vs. Eagles Gameday
Los Angeles heads to Philadelphia for a Week 4 NFC matchup at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday afternoon. Sean McVay’s Rams are 1-2, while Nick Sirianni and the Eagles enter at 2-1.
Both teams are coming off losses.
The Rams led Denver 16-0 at halftime before watching the Broncos storm back for a 30-26 victory. Philadelphia had considerably less drama Monday night, mostly because Chicago controlled the game and handed the Eagles a 27-7 loss. Neither team arrives feeling particularly good about Week 3.
Both teams need a response Sunday, but the Rams have considerably less margin for another one getting away.
Los Angeles has played consecutive road games and now gets another difficult environment in Philadelphia. The Eagles return home on a short week after spending the previous two games on the road.
Recent history belongs overwhelmingly to Philadelphia.
The Eagles have won 10 of the last 11 meetings, including the playoffs, and Nick Sirianni is 4-0 against McVay. Los Angeles gets another crack at changing that Sunday.

Los Angeles Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles Odds & Last 5
The opening odds make Los Angeles the road favorite. The Rams are -161 on the moneyline, Philadelphia is +135, and Los Angeles is laying 3 points.
It’s not a huge number, but the Rams haven’t exactly made life easy on themselves.
Los Angeles opened the season with a loss to San Francisco before hammering the Giants 28-6. The Rams then let a 16-point halftime advantage disappear in Denver. The Broncos scored the winning TD in the final minute to finish the comeback.
Philadelphia’s first two games went considerably better.
The Eagles beat Washington 24-22 and Tennessee 24-20 before running into trouble in Chicago. Philadelphia produced only seven points in that loss and enters Week 4 looking for its first ATS cover of the season.
The Eagles won last season’s meeting 33-26 at Lincoln Financial Field after trailing 26-7.
Philadelphia scored the final 26 points. Jordan Davis finished the comeback by returning a blocked FG for a TD on the final play, which was about as subtle as slamming the door in somebody’s face.

Eagles Stats From Last Week
Philadelphia didn’t have much working offensively against Chicago.
The Eagles finished with 248 total yards and converted only 22 percent of their third downs. They also turned the football over three times, making an already difficult night considerably harder.
Saquon Barkley gave them something early.
Barkley rushed for 73 yards in the first half but managed only nine yards on four carries after halftime. Once Chicago took control, Philadelphia couldn’t stay ahead of the chains consistently enough to keep leaning on him.
Jalen Hurts also briefly left the game to be evaluated for a concussion after taking an illegal hit out of bounds.
He returned before halftime and scored Philadelphia’s only TD on a one-yard QB sneak. The Eagles went scoreless in the second half. Chicago controlled the football and steadily pulled away.
The short turnaround doesn’t make things any easier.
Zack Baun entered the week in concussion protocol. DeVonta Smith, Hollywood Brown, Dallas Goedert and Fred Johnson were also among the Eagles who would not have practiced on Wednesday’s estimated injury report, leaving several statuses to watch heading toward Sunday.
Rams Stats From Last Week
Los Angeles had Denver exactly where it wanted it and couldn’t finish.
The Rams carried a 16-0 lead into halftime before the Broncos erased it. Three lead changes in the final five minutes turned the fourth quarter into chaos, with Denver scoring the winning TD with 47 seconds remaining.
Matthew Stafford threw for 390 yards and 2 TD’s, but the afternoon came with some expensive mistakes.
Stafford was intercepted twice, including a pick-six that helped Denver climb back into the game. Los Angeles still had a final possession with a chance to answer but couldn’t produce one more score.
The season-long production remains strong.
Stafford enters Week 4 with 872 passing yards and 6 TD’s, while Davante Adams has 358 receiving yards through three games. Kyren Williams has supplied balance with 214 rushing yards and another 106 through the air.
Los Angeles has produced enough offense to be better than 1-2, but eventually somebody has to close the deal.
The Rams could also get an important weapon back Sunday.
Puka Nacua missed the last two games with hip and groin issues, but McVay expects him to return against Philadelphia. Getting Nacua back would restore another major piece of the Rams receiving corps.
Rams vs. Eagles QB Matchup
Jalen Hurts remains the man running Philadelphia’s offense.
Hurts has thrown for 620 yards with 5 TD’s and 3 interceptions through three games. He’s also rushed for 87 yards and continues to give Philadelphia another scoring option around the goal line.
His history against Los Angeles is impressive.
Hurts has produced 1,057 total yards and 8 total TD’s in four career games against the Rams. He threw 3 TD’s in last season’s comeback win. Philadelphia will need more of that version after what happened in Chicago.
Matthew Stafford enters Sunday with considerably more passing production this season.
The Rams QB has thrown for 872 yards with 6 TD’s and 4 interceptions. Davante Adams gives him a proven downfield target, while Nacua’s expected return would give Stafford another weapon Philadelphia has to account for.

Stafford’s 390-yard afternoon in Denver showed how quickly Los Angeles can move the football.
The two interceptions showed the other side of it. One became a Denver TD, and those are exactly the mistakes Stafford can’t hand Philadelphia on the road.
Hurts faces a Rams secondary that has been difficult to throw against.
That puts more importance on Philadelphia establishing Barkley and staying out of obvious passing downs. The Eagles couldn’t do that consistently against Chicago, and their offense bogged down badly after halftime.
Both QB’s have already shown they can put points on this opponent in previous meetings. Sunday may come down to which one avoids giving the other side the short field that changes the game.
Los Angeles Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles bottom line: Philadelphia owns the recent history, but a healthier Rams offense gives Los Angeles considerably more firepower than the Eagles saw Monday night.
Los Angeles Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles Football Betting Trends
- The Rams have hit the over in their last 6 away regular season games, showing a 100% success rate.
- Also, Los Angeles has a solid record as favorites, going 10-4 straight up in their last 14 regular season games.
- Philadelphia has been strong at home, winning 4 out of their last 6 regular season games.
- The Eagles have seen the over hit in 3 of their last 4 regular season games, a 75% rate.
- Additionally, the Rams have been reliable against the spread in away games, covering in 5 of their last 8 regular season matchups.
- The Eagles have a balanced spread record, going 3-3 in their last 6 home regular season games.
Rams Eagles Free Pick: Rams -3
Here is my Rams Eagles free pick: I’m laying it with Los Angeles -3. Yeah, the Rams blew a 16-point halftime lead in Denver last week. I’m not thrilled about that either, but I’m also not going to pretend Philadelphia looked any better while getting smacked around by Chicago.
This Eagles offense hasn’t found much rhythm yet. Now Philadelphia gets a Rams defense that’s been difficult to throw against, and that’s a problem if Saquon Barkley can’t keep Hurts out of obvious passing situations.
Philadelphia owns the recent history here. Cool. I’m betting Sunday’s game, not the scrapbook.
The matchup I trust more is Stafford against this Eagles defense, especially with Puka Nacua expected back alongside Davante Adams. Los Angeles has enough weapons to make Philadelphia defend the whole field, and I don’t think the Eagles have shown enough offensively to keep answering if the Rams get ahead.
Three points isn’t chasing anything crazy. I need Los Angeles to win the football game and give me a little daylight, and I think that’s exactly what happens. Give me Rams -3.
