These are two teams with lots of optimism heading into the season. Tampa has a new coach and is hoping he can be a QB whisperer.
San Francisco is looking at a full season with Jimmy Garoppolo and improvements in others areas as a means to making it back to the playoffs.
San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco is really hoping this season is a step forward and with the Rams and the Seahawks in the same division they are going to need to be healthy and efficient to be successful.

Jimmy G is the key. George Kittle had a monster season last year but few are sold on him truly being an elite player. At the receiver position they are a little light to the point that they need the quarterback to create the opportunities.
They want to be more balanced so they went out and got Tevin Coleman in free agency. He has had his moment but never been the guy.
The defense could be building but they are not healthy to start the season. Bookend defensive ends Nick Bosa and Dee Ford are dinged up. When they get that duo going the defense could be pretty good with experience in key spots.
Look for a strong game plan for San Francisco in this one. Small spread for a good reason.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Loved the hire of Bruce Arians this offseason for Tampa. He knows what he wants to do and he actually has some talent to work with.

The key is Jameis Winston of course. He has put up some numbers but you never really were confident he had an approach to what he wanted to do. He is primed for a big season.
Mike Evans and OJ Howard are two tough physical covers. Those are going to be matches to exploit in this one, especially if San Francisco cannot get the pass rush they want.
I like the improvements they made to the defense even if it is not going to be an elite unit. Ndamukong Suh can still be a very disruptive player and Devin White is a great speed linebacker
Arians has a great chance to get a win in his debut. He is a strong game planner and this looks like a good spot.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Tampa -1
I think both of these teams can compete better than they have in recent seasons. Tampa gets the win at home though. Could be one of the best games of the opening week.
NFL Free Week 1 Score Prediction: Tampa Bay 33 – San Francisco 30
I am looking for the offenses to be ahead of the defenses in this one so the over is strong too.
