49ers vs. Falcons Gameday
The San Francisco 49ers visit the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX. San Francisco enters Week 7 at 6-0, while Atlanta stands at 2-4.
Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers have won all six games, including two on the road. They’ve combined efficient offense with a defense that rarely lets opponents settle into a rhythm.
The perfect record hasn’t come against an easy schedule.
San Francisco has handled every challenge so far, but Atlanta’s ground attack deserves serious attention.
Kevin Stefanski’s Falcons have dropped two straight and remain winless in three home appearances. Their offense has shown promise, but inconsistent execution has made it difficult to sustain momentum.
Hosting the league’s last unbeaten NFC team isn’t exactly a soft landing.
San Francisco defensive coordinator Raheem Morris returns to Atlanta, where he previously served as head coach. Both teams have significant injury concerns entering Sunday. The coaching familiarity should make for an interesting tactical battle.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s retractable roof means weather should have little influence on the action.
It’s Week 7, San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons, hopefully we get a great matchup.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons Odds & Previous Games

Atlanta lost to Chicago 31-23, Baltimore 30-23 and Carolina 34-3. The Falcons also defeated New Orleans 45-24 and Green Bay 35-14.
That range of results makes Atlanta difficult to trust from one week to the next.

Falcons Stats From Last Week
Atlanta averages 344.3 offensive yards and 23.7 points per game. The Falcons have generated 2,066 total yards through six contests. Their rushing attack has been more productive than their passing game.
Bijan Robinson leads the backfield with 641 rushing yards and four touchdowns. His 5.8 yards per carry gives Atlanta a legitimate threat whenever it establishes blocking up front.
Stopping him is the first assignment for San Francisco’s defense.
Drake London leads the receiving group with 31 catches for 550 yards. Kyle Pitts Sr. remains another important option when defenses commit extra coverage to London.
Atlanta has enough talent to move the football, but its protection problems have limited offensive consistency.
The Falcons have allowed 2,011 total yards, but their run defense has been effective. Opponents average just 83.2 rushing yards per game against Atlanta.
That’s a legitimate strength heading into this matchup.
Atlanta has recorded 15 sacks and one interception. The defense can create pressure, although it hasn’t consistently turned that disruption into takeaways.
Linebacker Divine Deablo, defensive back Billy Bowman Jr., offensive tackle Michael Jerrell and running back Brian Robinson Jr. are out. Cornerback C.J. Henderson and linebacker Kendal Daniels are questionable.
The Falcons have several additional defensive players dealing with injuries. Their available depth will be tested against Shanahan’s varied offensive formations.
49ers Stats From Last Week
San Francisco averages 29.5 points and 366.7 offensive yards per game. The 49ers rank third in scoring and ninth in total offense. They’ve been particularly effective finishing drives.
Christian McCaffrey has rushed for 350 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s also caught 28 passes, providing an important option when defenses take away the initial passing read.
He remains a problem wherever Shanahan lines him up.
George Kittle has contributed 337 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Mike Evans leads the team with 420 receiving yards, although San Francisco will be without him Sunday.
Defensively, the 49ers allow 18.3 points and 300 total yards per game. Their discipline has helped compensate for injuries across several position groups.
San Francisco has recorded 15 sacks and three interceptions. The pass rush remains capable of disrupting an opponent’s timing even without its full complement of starters.
The 49ers also allow just 90.2 rushing yards per game. That sets up a demanding assignment against Atlanta’s backfield.
Evans, Deebo Samuel Sr., Nick Bosa, Luke Gifford, Garret Wallow and Marques Sigle are out. Christian Kirk and Siran Neal are questionable, leaving San Francisco with some difficult depth decisions.
Cornerback Upton Stout is also unavailable. Shanahan will need contributions from several reserves in a game with important NFC implications.
49ers vs. Falcons QB Matchup
Brock Purdy enters Week 7 with 1,460 passing yards through six games. He’s thrown 14 touchdowns against two interceptions. His 69.6% completion rate reflects excellent timing and accuracy.
Purdy has been comfortable attacking different areas of the field. Shanahan’s formations help create favorable matchups, allowing the quarterback to identify his options before the snap.
That preparation has been a major part of San Francisco’s success.
Atlanta’s defense has generated pressure but struggled to create interceptions. Purdy will need to recognize its blitz packages and avoid holding the football too long.
Michael Penix Jr. has thrown for 944 yards through four appearances. He’s produced six touchdowns and one interception while completing 64.6% of his passes.
Penix has the arm strength to attack downfield. His challenge has been maintaining accuracy and timing when the protection breaks down.
That’s where Atlanta needs a much cleaner performance.

Purdy faces a Falcons defense capable of restricting rushing lanes. He’ll need to capitalize when Atlanta commits additional defenders near the line of scrimmage.
Penix faces a San Francisco defense that has been disciplined against explosive plays. His ability to identify coverage changes and deliver the football quickly will be important.
Both quarterbacks have protected the football reasonably well this season. Purdy has been more productive, while Penix needs stronger support from the players around him.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons bottom line: San Francisco’s offensive execution gives it the advantage, while Atlanta needs a disciplined performance to keep this matchup competitive.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons Football Betting Trends
- The 49ers have been strong as favorites, winning their last 11 regular-season games straight up.
- San Francisco has excelled on the road, covering the spread in their last 6 away games.
- Plus, the 49ers have seen the total go over in 5 of their last 7 games as favorites.
- Atlanta has been hitting the over consistently, with the total going over in all 4 of their regular-season games this year.
- Also, the Falcons have been successful as underdogs, going 3-0 on the over in their last 3 games as underdogs.
- The Falcons have also seen the total go over in 5 of their last 7 home games.
49ers Falcons Free Pick: Under 49.5
Here is my 49ers Falcons free pick: Under 49.5. Atlanta’s offensive line has had trouble protecting Michael Penix Jr., and San Francisco doesn’t give opponents many cheap scoring opportunities. That’s a bad combination for a total approaching 50.
The Falcons have a better chance of competing if Bijan Robinson gets steady work. Long drives and a manageable third-down distance suit Atlanta far better than asking Penix to rescue possessions with desperate throws.
That approach also keeps the clock moving.
I’m backing a game where Atlanta’s best offensive strategy takes time off the board.
San Fran can afford to be selective with its depleted receiving corps. If the 49ers establish a lead, Shanahan has every reason to stay patient rather than chase extra points through the air. Run CMC Run! Atlanta doesn’t need another track meet it can’t finish.
My call is a controlled San Francisco win, with the Falcons struggling to contribute enough scoring to threaten the number.
I’ll take the defensive resistance and the running clock.
Under 49.5
