Packers vs. Lions Gameday
The Green Bay Packers visit the Detroit Lions on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Ford Field in Detroit. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX. Green Bay enters Week 7 at 4-2, while Detroit stands at 3-2.
Matt LaFleur’s Packers have won three straight games and are looking to strengthen their position in the NFC North. Their passing attack has been productive, but the running game remains a concern.
That’s not an ideal imbalance heading into Detroit.
Green Bay brings the winning streak, while Detroit gets its first divisional test in front of the home crowd.
Dan Campbell’s Lions return from their bye after a convincing victory in Arizona. They’ve won both home games this season and have had an extra week to prepare for their division rivals.
Ford Field won’t be a quiet place Sunday.
Detroit is playing its first NFC North game of the season. Green Bay has already split two divisional contests, and another loss would complicate its position in a competitive division. Neither coaching staff needs a lecture about the importance of this matchup.
The Lions have the rest advantage; the Packers have the recent momentum.
It’s Week 7, Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions, hopefully we get a great matchup.

Lions Stats From Last Week
Detroit leads the NFL with 32.8 points per game and averages 393.8 total yards. The Lions generate 279.6 passing yards and 114.2 rushing yards per contest. Their offensive balance makes it difficult for defenses to concentrate on one area.
Jahmyr Gibbs leads the rushing attack with 504 yards and seven touchdowns. His receiving ability also forces opponents to account for him outside the backfield.
Good luck defending every option at once.
Amon-Ra St. Brown leads Detroit with 37 receptions for 372 yards and five touchdowns. Jameson Williams stretches the field, while Sam LaPorta gives the offense a dependable target over the middle.
Detroit’s offense can punish defensive mistakes quickly, but its secondary has left plenty of room for opposing receivers.
The Lions allow 29.6 points and 404.4 total yards per game. Opponents have averaged 297.4 passing yards, exposing weaknesses in coverage.
That secondary faces another demanding assignment.
Detroit has recorded 20 sacks despite its defensive struggles. DJ Wonnum leads the team with five, while Aidan Hutchinson continues to command attention along the defensive front.
Safety Brian Branch is questionable with an Achilles injury. Center Cade Mays is also questionable because of a wrist issue, although both practiced fully during the week.
Cornerback Rock Ya-Sin has no final injury designation. Campbell will be looking for sharper coverage and fewer missed assignments coming out of the bye.
Packers Stats From Last Week
Green Bay averages 21.2 points and 329.1 total yards per game. The Packers have generated most of their production through the air, averaging 269.3 passing yards compared with 59.8 rushing yards.
Christian Watson leads the receiving group with 29 catches for 538 yards and six touchdowns. Matthew Golden provides another vertical threat, giving Green Bay multiple ways to challenge defensive backs.
That speed demands respect.
MarShawn Lloyd leads the team with 122 rushing yards. Green Bay has struggled to create consistent running lanes, leaving its offense dependent on successful passing downs.
Josh Jacobs was activated Saturday after missing the first six games. His return provides a potential boost, although his immediate workload remains uncertain.
The Packers allow 20.8 points per game and have recorded 11 takeaways, including nine interceptions. Their secondary has been particularly effective at capitalizing on poor quarterback decisions.
Green Bay also allows just 193.3 passing yards per contest. That’s a substantial strength heading into this matchup.
Linebacker Zaire Franklin is out with a shin injury. Guard Aaron Banks, receiver Bo Melton, defensive tackle Jordon Riley and cornerback Benjamin St-Juste are questionable.
Micah Parsons remains sidelined with a knee injury.
Packers vs. Lions QB Matchup
Jared Goff enters Week 7 with 1,485 passing yards through five games. He’s thrown 12 touchdowns without an interception. His 67% completion rate reflects an offense operating efficiently.
Goff threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns against Arizona. His quick decisions and timing have helped Detroit sustain possessions without taking unnecessary risks.
That’s exactly what Campbell wants from his veteran quarterback.
Goff has several reliable options when defenses take away his first read. His familiarity with Detroit’s receiving group allows him to attack different areas of the field.
Jordan Love enters the matchup with 1,684 passing yards through six games. He’s thrown 11 touchdowns and four interceptions, producing a 91.8 passer rating.
Love has been aggressive attacking downfield, although his 59.7% completion rate reflects some inconsistency. He can change a game with one deep completion.
Detroit’s defensive backs know that danger is coming.

Love faces a Lions defense that has allowed significant passing production. His protection will be important when Green Bay looks to develop longer routes.
Goff faces a Packers secondary that has created turnovers consistently. He’ll need to recognize coverage changes and avoid giving Green Bay opportunities to steal possessions.
Both quarterbacks have the weapons to produce explosive plays. Goff has been more accurate, while Love brings a more aggressive downfield approach.
Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions bottom line: Detroit’s offensive efficiency and Green Bay’s explosive passing attack set up a divisional battle with little room for wasted possessions.

Packers Lions Free Pick: Lions -3
Here is my Packers Lions free pick: Lions -3. Detroit is a different animal at Ford Field, and I like its chances of getting Green Bay out of its comfort zone. Three points isn’t a number that scares me with this offense. The Lions have had an extra week to prepare, and Dan Campbell knows exactly what’s at stake in this division.
Green Bay’s dangerous, but Detroit can put together scoring drives without needing everything to go perfectly.
That’s the edge I’m buying.
I’m taking the team that can build a lead instead of spending four quarters trying to erase one.
Green Bay has enough firepower to make this uncomfortable. I still expect Detroit to get the better of the key possessions, especially when the game tightens up.
I’m not interested in sweating out a field goal. Detroit can win this by seven or more.
Let Green Bay chase the scoreboard for a change. Lions -3
