We have reached two of the NFL season and this is a big time NFC showdown between the Atlanta Falcons and the Philadelphia Eagles at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The Philadelphia Eagles got the win in week one against the Washington Redskins, but it really didn’t look like that might be the case.
They started off the game slow and after one quarter were down 10-0 and the crowd was already starting to boo their performance.
They quickly turned it around though and although the Redskins scored a touchdown late to make it closer, it wasn’t really that close winning 32-27.
After starting slow in the game it was the Carson Wentz show as he threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns. He also didn’t throw any interceptions and now he seems to have all the rust worn off of him.
In his game it’s going to be about getting out to a fast start. If they get out to a slow start like they did against the Redskins, they may not have a chance to come back.
On the other side of this matchup is the Atlanta Falcons who are looking for their first win of the season after losing against the Minnesota Vikings in the first game.
The Falcons made too many mistakes in the first game against the Vikings and it needs to be cleaned up in this game.
Matt Ryan struggled throwing two interceptions and there were also some fumbles and a blocked punt that made life too easy on the Vikings.
Ryan did end up throwing for 304 yards and two touchdowns, but a lot of that was in garbage time. The other big issue the offense had was getting the run game going. Ito Smith was the leading rushing six times for 31 yards.
On the defensive end they didn’t play terribly, but they are going to need to get more pressure on Carson Wentz in this game.
In this game the one thing they really don’t want is for this game to be a shootout. If this game becomes a shootout they probably have the offense to keep it close, but it’s not something that they really want to test.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Eagles are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games.
- Eagles are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
- Falcons are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games.
- Falcons are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
- Eagles are 12-5-1 ATS in their last 18 meetings.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Eagles PK
The Atlanta Falcons are at home, but I really don’t think they are going to have much success in this game, and this game actually could get ugly.
NFL Free Week 2 Score Prediction: Eagles 34 – Falcons 24
I think Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is going to have a big game and help take the home crowd out of it. This is going to be a high scoring game, and in the 4th quarter it will be the Eagles that take better care of the ball.
Look for the Eagles to win this game by a touchdown or more.
