The Jets and Saints take the field in week 15.
New York is coming off a tough road loss at Denver, 23-0. Putting their road record this season at 1-5.
New Orleans played on Thursday night. Losing a close divisional road game at Atlanta, 20-17.
The last time the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints faced each other, was 2013. The Jets won at home, 26-20.
New York Jets
The New York Jets are one of the worst teams in the AFC this season. The Jets are three games under .500 and in last place in the AFC East.
The Jets were embarrassed last week at Denver by 23 points. The Jets starting quarterback Josh McCown was knocked out of the game in the loss.
McCown had 46 yards passing and one interception before leaving with an apparent hand injury. Backup Bryce Petty came in to complete two of nine passes for 14 yards and zero touchdowns.
The Jets offense gained 100 yards of total offense in Sunday’s loss. The Jets passed for 41 total yards and no touchdowns, while the running game ran the ball 59 times, for 23 yards.
Hopefully for the Jets, altitude played a huge factor against Denver. If not, then the Jets are looking to tank the last three games.
Defensively, the Jets played well in last weeks loss. The Jets defense allowed 273 total yards of offense in Sunday’s loss. The defense was on the field more than half the game. Over 35 minutes.
New York is allowing 24 points scored and over 364 yards of total offense per game this season. If the Jets are going to win in New Orleans, New York is going to have to slow the Saints rushing game.
New York is going to be without starting quarterback Josh McCown the rest of the season. He is out with a fractured hand. The pressure just mounted even more on the New York defense to help win the last three games.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints are 9-4 this season and lost a tough road game last Thursday at Atlanta by three points. Running back Alvin Kamara was hurt early leading to the loss. Kamara is still in concussion protocol.
Drew Brees did all he could on the short rest week to get the Saints a win, but came up short in the final seconds, throwing the game ending interception for New Orleans.
This Sunday, expect the well rested Saints to be ready to go. Look for a big game from Brees this week.
Kamara is still in concussion protocol, but my gut feeling is he will be available at home this Sunday.
On defense, the Saints are still a much improved team from last year. The Saints defense is allowing 349 yards per game this season and the secondary is solid as well. Allowing 235 yards passing per game.
Expect the Saints defense to show up at home. The defense played well in last weeks loss, allowing 343 yards against the Falcons on turf.

Bryce Petty is going to have his hands full on the road this week. Expect his erratic play to be a deciding factor in this one.
The Saints should have no issues handling business at home. Take the Saint so cover and win.
