With the loss last week Chicago is probably out of it in the NFC.  Maybe not mathematically but I don’t see how this team finished strong.

The Giants were never really in it this season so they are just looking/hoping to continue developing some players.

New York Giants

The Giants come to Chicago off a bye week and looking to end a 6 game losing streak. Whatever bump they got from switching to Daniel Jones at quarterback has dissipated.   They are just looking to be respectable.

Jones had a really good game before the bye in a loss to the Jets.  He threw for over 300 yards and had four touchdowns with no interceptions. It was the second time he had done that in the last three games, though neither was a win.

Sometimes accruing statistics in garbage time makes things look better but this week Jones should be able to give the team a chance to win.

It is likely to be without the services of running back Saquon Barkley. He has a shoulder injury and is questionable.  There is really no reason to play him.

The New York defense is one of the worst in the league but playing Chicago can make any defense look decent.

Chicago Bears

I had the misfortune of thinking the Rams game on Sunday night was going to be entertaining. I was wrong with the Bears assuring that with yet more subpar play.

Mitch Trubisky takes the shots but this is a total team thing to me. There is not much creativity to the Bears offense right now and it looks like they are playing really tight too, as if they know one mistake will sink them.

The defense might have had some trouble stopping the run early but giving up just 17 points in the NFL should at least have you in the game.  Though, the Rams were missing key contributors on the line and at receiver that the Bears could not exploit.

Taking on the Giants should help the Bears as New York is a team they can beat even if they do make a mistake or two, ergo, take some chances to try and win.

Things have really turned bad in Chicago and the season is essentially written off at this point. They are four wins behind Green Bay and Minnesota.
