Here’s why I’m backing a Jacksonville ATS bet below in my Jaguars Bengals free pick & gambling prediction for this matchup.
Jaguars vs. Bengals Gameday
Week 4 sends the Jacksonville Jaguars to Paycor Stadium for an AFC matchup between two 2-1 teams. Liam Coen’s Jaguars are coming off their most complete performance of the young season, while Zac Taylor’s Bengals return home after a three-point loss in Pittsburgh.
Jacksonville handled New England 35-6 last Sunday, using a balanced offense and a defense that repeatedly made life difficult for the Patriots. Cincinnati had a much different afternoon, battling Pittsburgh to the final minute before falling 30-27.
Jacksonville arrives with defensive momentum, while Cincinnati has Burrow and home field to answer it.
The Jaguars now hit the road looking to carry that momentum into a much different challenge against Cincinnati.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinnati Bengals Odds & Last 5
The opening odds have Cincinnati favored at home, with the Bengals -141 on the moneyline and Jacksonville +118. Cincinnati is laying 2.5 points at -114, while the total is 51.5.
That number leaves very little room between these teams.
Jacksonville opened with a pair of home wins around a road loss in Denver. The Jaguars responded to that defeat by blowing out New England last Sunday.
Cincinnati also won its first two before losing at Pittsburgh. The Bengals put up 27 points in the defeat but couldn’t finish the job in a game that remained tight into the final minute.
The Bengals have won three straight against Jacksonville, including a 31-27 victory at Paycor Stadium last season. The previous two meetings were also decided by one score, so this series hasn’t exactly been producing comfortable afternoons.

Bengals Stats From Last Week
Cincinnati’s offense has averaged 26.7 points through three games, with the passing game doing most of the heavy lifting.
Burrow completed 28 of 37 passes for 282 yards and 3 TD’s against Pittsburgh. Ja’Marr Chase caught nine passes for 98 yards and a score, while Tee Higgins added 90 yards and another TD.
The ground game remains much less explosive.
Chase Brown rushed for 61 yards on 13 carries against the Steelers, and Cincinnati enters Week 4 near the bottom of the league in rushing yards per game. Burrow acknowledged this week that the Bengals have been efficient on the ground without generating enough explosive runs.
Cincinnati’s defense has created pressure with 10 sacks through three games, but the secondary enters Sunday with some moving pieces.
B.J. Hill, Dalton Risner, Kyle Dugger and Colbie Young did not practice Wednesday. Starting safeties Bryan Cook and Jordan Battle were limited, while Jalen Davis remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Jaguars Stats From Last Week
Jacksonville’s defense has allowed only 36 points through three games while forcing six turnovers. The Jaguars have been particularly difficult to finish drives against, allowing only three TD’s so far.
That defense helped turn Sunday’s game against New England into a rout.
The Jaguars forced three turnovers and held the Patriots to six points despite allowing 317 total yards. Jacksonville’s offense complemented that effort with 137 rushing yards and two scores on the ground.
Bhayshul Tuten led the way with 73 yards on 15 carries and a TD. The rookie has 204 rushing yards through three games, giving Jacksonville a ground-game presence that wasn’t nearly as dependable late last season.
Parker Washington has also emerged as an important piece of the passing game.
Washington has 221 receiving yards and 2 TD’s through three games, while Jakobi Meyers caught seven passes for 64 yards and a score against New England.
Jacksonville’s Wednesday injury report was mostly a collection of limited participants. LeQuint Allen Jr., Jakobi Meyers, Cole Van Lanen, DaVon Hamilton, Christian Braswell, Albert Regis and Montaric Brown were all limited, while Jarrian Jones practiced fully.
Jaguars vs. Bengals QB Matchup
Joe Burrow remains the engine of Cincinnati’s offense.
Burrow has thrown for 743 yards with 6 TD’s and only 1 interception through three games. His connection with Chase and Higgins gives Cincinnati the ability to create points quickly even when the running game isn’t providing much help.
Last week’s ending is the part he’d like back.
Burrow lost a fumble after being sacked with 53 seconds remaining, ending Cincinnati’s final opportunity in Pittsburgh. Jacksonville’s ability to create takeaways makes protecting the football especially important this week.
Trevor Lawrence enters with a different kind of support system.
Lawrence has thrown for 616 yards with 7 TD’s and 2 interceptions, but Jacksonville hasn’t needed him to turn every possession into a one-man show. The improved running game has given the Jaguars considerably more balance through three weeks.

“ Anybody can post a prediction. CappersPicks backs up its sports picks with opinionated matchup analysis, experienced handicappers & documented betting performance. Pad that bankroll one day at a time! ”
Lawrence completed 19 of 29 passes against New England and threw 3 TD’s, spreading those scores among three different receivers.
The contrast at QB isn’t about whether either passer can make enough throws. Both can.
For Cincinnati, Burrow’s passing game remains the clearest path to points. Jacksonville can counter with Lawrence while also leaning on a running game and defense that have taken some of the burden off its QB.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinnati Bengals bottom line: Burrow gives Cincinnati plenty of offensive firepower, but Jacksonville’s balance gives Lawrence more ways to stay with him if this turns into another tight meeting.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinnati Bengals Football Betting Trends

- Also, the Jaguars have surpassed the total in 66.7% of their last 3 games as underdogs.
- The Bengals have a 60% success rate against the spread as favorites in their last 5 regular season games.
- What’s more, Cincinnati has covered the spread in 83.3% of their last 6 games with totals set at 50 or higher.

Jaguars Bengals Free Pick: Jaguars +2.5
Here is my Jaguars Bengals free pick: I’m taking Jaguars +2.5. Jacksonville’s defense has been the more convincing unit through three weeks, and that matters when I’m getting points in a matchup between two 2-1 teams.
The Jaguars can also attack a Cincinnati pass defense that has given up plenty between the 20s.
Trevor Lawrence has been productive without needing to carry the entire offense, while Jacksonville’s improved running game gives Liam Coen another way to keep Joe Burrow watching from the sideline.
Jacksonville doesn’t need to outgun Burrow if its defense keeps forcing Cincinnati to earn every trip downfield.
Cincinnati remains dangerous with Burrow, Chase and Higgins, but the Bengals are dealing with some defensive injuries and haven’t consistently created separation. My system likes taking points when the underdog has multiple paths to stay attached, and J-ville checks enough boxes for me to grab Jaguars +2.5.
