This week three matchup will see the New Orleans Saints travel out west to take on the Seattle Seahawks.
The Saints fell to the Los Angeles Rams and dropped to 1-1, while Seattle won in Pittsburgh and move to 2-0.
New Orleans Saints
This past Sunday was a rough one for New Orleans as they saw their quarterback go down early with a thumb injury. It was announced that Brees will need surgery and could be out for as many as six weeks.

This leaves the question of who will start under center? Teddy Bridgerwater will likely be the guy they turn to, but he just looked awful against the Rams. Bridgewater went 17 of 30 in this game for 165 yards, but had no touchdowns. He was running for life most of the afternoon and was very inaccurate to say the least.
Now having to travel to Seattle, who are know for their home field advantage, is going to be very tough. The Saints are likely going to have a ton of problems moving the ball and may have to rely on their run game.
Speaking of this, the Saints only rushed for 57 yards against the Rams. Alvin Kamara was their leading rusher with 45 yards on 13 carries. If Kamara does not turn things around, this game could get out of hand quick with no reliable quarterback to bring them from behind.
Just like in the NFC Championship last year, the Saints were victims of a horrible call.
This time around is was the defense that fell victim. When the game was still close, the Saints forced a fumble on Jared Goff and returned it for a touchdown. It turns out that a ref blew the play dead instead of letting it finish, so the touchdown was reversed.
After that play is when the Rams started to move the ball an ended up with 380 total yards. Things will not get any easier as they now will face Russell Wilson and could be on the field for long periods on time.

Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks were coming off a poor week one effort, but looked better against the Steelers. They won this game 28-26 and while Big Ben was forced to leave, Russell Wilson led a drive that sealed the deal late in the fourth quarter.
Wilson ended this game with 300 passing yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He also completed 29 of his 35 passes, good for 82.9%.
The run game also provided a huge boost as they rushed for 152 yards. Rashaad Penny led the way with 62 yards on 10 carries and one touchdown. Chris Carson was right behind him with 61 yards on 15 carries.
The only problem was he fumbled. Russell Wilson also fumbled, so ball security will need to be a big key to this upcoming game.
The defense played well for the most part, even when Mason Rudolph replaced Big Ben. They held the Steelers to 261 total yards, and just 81 of these yards were on the ground.
Having to face the Saints backup will give this defense confidence because no matter who they start, he will not be as prolific as Drew Brees. This should help out the secondary and they may focus on Kamara in this game.
If they can shut down the run, then Seattle will have a good chance to come away with a win because no Drew Brees means trouble for the Saints offense.
NFL Betting Trends:
- SEA are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 vs. NFC.
- SEA are 17-5 ATS in their last 22 games in Week 3.
- Under is 8-1 in NO last 9 vs. NFC.
- Under is 8-3 in NO last 11 games overall.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: UNDER 47
We saw how ineffective Teddy Bridgewater was last Sunday, and I expect more of the same. The Saints will struggle to score and their defense will do everything they can to keep them within reach. However, in the end, Wilson will be too much and will lead the Seahawks to a win. The under is my official play because I have no faith in the backup quarterback of the Saints.
