This week eleven matchup will see the New England Patriots taking on the Philadelphia Eagles.
This is the first meeting between these two teams played in Philly since the Eagles beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl a couple of years ago. The Philly fans are sure to be out in strong numbers, but also the Patriots fans travel well, so this is setting up to be a wild environment.
New England Patriots
The Patriots came back down to Earth by losing to the Baltimore Ravens before their bye week. They lost this game 37-20 and were somewhat exposed for how weak of a schedule they played the first eight weeks of the season.
New England is still clearly the best team in their division, but there are questions about them being the best team in the AFC after that poor effort in Baltimore.

Regardless of their last result, this Patriots offense is still putting up pretty good numbers. They are the 7th best passing offense, averaging 273.9 yards per game. It has been their run game that is lacking, only averaging 92.9 yards per game.
In Baltimore, the Patriots scored their second lowest point total this season. They still average 30 points per game, and must get back to their gameplan in another hostile environment.
Maybe it was because of their schedule that the defense looked so good, but against the Ravens and Lamar Jackson, this Pats defense looked completely lost. They failed to contain Jackson and were torched all night.
Even after giving up 37 points, by far their highest points allowed, they still rank 1st in the NFL in points allowed per game. Their pass defense is also still 1st in the league, but their rush defense is 11th.
The Eagles are not as explosive offensively as the Ravens, so look for the Patriots defense to go back to playing shut down ball.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles are all of a sudden in contention for the NFC East and they did not even play this past week. They are coming off a 22-14 win over the Chicago Bears and now that they are tied with Dallas, they need to start winning games at a higher rate.

The Eagles jumped out to a 19-0 lead against the Bears and were cruising along before the second half rolled around and they let Chicago back into the game. They had 373 yards of total offense, which is actually more than their average of 347.
In terms of scoring, we saw how conservative the Eagles can be when they scored 3 points in the second half against Chicago. The bottom line is that will not work against New England, so they need to play a full 60 minute game.
Their strength this year is running the football, as they average 127.3 yards per game. We did see the Ravens exploit the Patriots with the run game, so no doubt the Eagles will try to use a similar approach.
Defensively, this team is very unpredictable. They allow 23.7 points per game, which ranks 18th in the league. They are very good at stopping the run, something New England has been unable to do, and they are just average at defending the pass.
The key for the Eagles is getting pressure on Tom Brady. Baltimore was able to force enough pressure so Brady was not in rhythm and the Eagles will need to do the exact same thing.
NFL Betting Trends:

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: UNDER 44.5
Philadelphia is not that great of an offensive team and the Patriots have also showed deficiencies when moving the football. I think the New England defense will get back in form and therefore, I will take the under as my pick.
