This is probably one of the worst Monday Night games on the schedule this season with the New England Patriots travelling to play the New York Jets. Both teams have been awful this season, but if New England wants to make a run, it will start here.
The Jets are the only remaining winless team and their chances do not look great here either. At this point, they look to be playing for the number one overall pick in the NFL Draft next year.
New England Patriots
The Patriots’ era of dominance is seemingly coming to an end or at the very least will be put on pause this season. They lost yet again this past week to Buffalo Bills to sink further down in the AFC East standings. At this rate, they might even finish below the Miami Dolphins and their season is close to being considered a failure.
Cam Newton was decent at times against the Bills, but continues to struggle overall. He threw for just only 174 yards through the air on 15 completions. He did run for 54 yards, but a late fumble basically gave the win to the Bills. Newton really does not look that good and the Patriots may need to start thing about a replacement because their offense is not working.
The Patriots are ranked 29th in passing offense, but 3rd in rushing offense. They also score 19.3 points per game, which ranks 29th in the league.
Their defense is certainly not as good as it has been in the past, allowing 339 total yards to the Buffalo Bills. They did manage to hold Josh Allen to 154 yards passing with no touchdowns and one interception. However, Buffalo torched the New England defense for 190 yards with two Bills each rushing for 80+ yards. Zack Moss was one of those players, rushing for 81 yards and had two touchdowns.
At the very least, the Patriots have a top 10 passing defense. On the ground is where they tend to struggle more, ranking 27th. Though it should not matter this week as they face an inept offense like the Jets.
New York Jets
The Jets are easily the worst team in football and showed it again when they lost to Kansas City this past Sunday. New York was a 20-point underdog in this game and went and lost 35-9. Rarely in the NFL do you get an underdog of 20 points, so clearly the Jets are even worse than we thought.
Offensively they had a total of 221 yards, but did not score a touchdown. Sam Darnold threw for 133 yards. They also managed just 93 yards rushing, with their leading rusher picking up just 30 yards. New York is last in most of the offensive categories, including scoring only 11.8 points per game.
Defensively they were completely torched as Kansas City had 496 yards of total offense. Patrick Mahomes threw for 414 yards and five touchdowns. They did hold to Chiefs to 50 yards rushing, so maybe they can slow down New England as well.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Under 41
The Jets are just not going to score a lot of points in this game for me to even consider backing them. I do not trust the Patriots’ offense either, so I will back the under.
