Well the Pats are back in the AFC title game for I think the 8th straight time…impressive. If they are going to advance to the Super Bowl again they are going to have another strong offensive performance.
The Chiefs were impressive slowing down an Indy team that was on a big time roll. Now they have to keep their composure if they want to beat New England.
New England Patriots
It looked like it might be a game last week early as the score was tied about the middle of the first quarter. However, by halftime it was 35-7 rendering the second half essentially meaningless. The Patriots were impressive.
The big thing was the productivity they got from running back Sony Michel. He had 129 yards in just 24 carries. James White did not have a single carry but he did have 15 receptions. I wonder if that is some sort of record for imbalance from a running back.
Julian Edelman had not been much of a factor this season. He had his best game of the season with 151 yards receiving and should be able to get free a lot against a poor Chiefs defense.
The Pats defense was really good. The Chargers running game was a non factor and Philip Rivers did not even complete 50% of his passes. They will be tested more in this one for sure.
Kansas City Chiefs
Similar to the Patriots the Chiefs were able to put away the Colts early. They were up 24-7 at halftime and the second half was essentially a stalemate. They were much more stout defensively than you would have expected from the regular season.
Patrick Mahomes was a monster this season but his performance in this one was more measured. He completed a good percentage of his throws but did not produce any touchdowns. I do like that he was able to have success getting the ball to his best targets.
After Kareen Hunt was cut it created an opportunity and Damien Williams has run with it. He had 129 yards against the Colts and has good yards per carry numbers for KC. He has been giving them balance.
The Chiefs know they can move the ball but their defense was just as critical to the win last week. If it can rise to the occasion again they are going to the Super Bowl.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Chiefs -3
Small number here with Mahomes looking to up end Brady and the Pats. Perhaps a changing of the guard is upon us.
NFL Free AFC Championship Score Prediction: Kansas City 31 – New England 24
This will be a really good game and will go back and forth in the first half. In the second the Chiefs will find some ways to get into the end zone and advance them to the Super Bowl.
