The Patriots handed the Chiefs their first loss of the season on Sunday night. Tom Brady orchestrated the final game-winning drive to win by three after Kansas City came all the way back to tie the game at 24–9 halftime.
Speaking of comebacks, the Bears were shutout and down at halftime against the Dolphins on Sunday but scored twenty-one points in the third quarter and sent the game into overtime. All for not. They dropped their second game.
New England Patriots
Tom Brady went an efficient 24-for-35 with 340 yards and a touchdown. He also ran one in late in the game.
He had plenty of help from Sony Michel, the rookie running back that has averaged over 100 yards over his last three games. He ran 24 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns against the Chiefs. Rob Gronkowski only caught three balls but he made them count for a team-leading 97 yards.
Julian Edelman caught the only touchdown, his first of the season since returning from his four-game suspension last week.
The defense wasn’t very good but it did hold the Chiefs to nine points in the first half, thanks to two interceptions of Patrick Mahomes. After that, the Chiefs put up thirty-one in the second half and the Patriots’ front four got almost no pressure. New England’s defense didn’t record a single sack all night.
This will be a different sort of matchup against a team that’s much more defensive-oriented. The defense should be able to control Mitch Trubisky a little bit, though Brady will have a lot more pressure to deal with with Khalil Mack.
Mitch Trubisky didn’t do hardly anything in the first half of their game against the Dolphins but he ended up having a pretty good game. He finished 22-for-31 with 316 yards and three touchdowns.
Because the Bears got down early, they never quite got to establish Jordan Howard, who only rushed fourteen times. He was efficient, though. Trubisky added nearly fifty yards on the ground, too.
This will be a chance for Chicago’s offense to really move the ball against a defense that doesn’t rush the passer well at all. The strength of the offense is that Trubisky can really spread it out to a long list of receivers. Taylor Gabriel led the team last week with 110 yards but three other guys caught the touchdowns.
But if the Bears can’t handle the Dolphins after a bye week, it hardly seems likely they’ll be able to control the Patriots, even if they are at home. Still, don’t sleep on a team desperate to stay above .500 against another that is coming off a high-profile win on Sunday Night Football.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Pats.
The spread feels too small and I would suspect it hits three rather quickly. I’m going to gobble up the Patriots early at this price.
