The Bills may be atop the AFC East but if they are going to truly take the division they have to beat New England. This is a great spot to do so.
New England was pretty awful last week hosting San Francisco. It was a lever we are not used to seeing from a Bill Belichik team.
I thought the line would be greater here. It looks like oddsmakers are not willing to give up so quickly on the Pats.
New England Patriots
There is no other way to put it, the Patriots received a beatdown last week from the 49ers, at home no less. Even the defense which has been a strength got pushed around.
Cam Newton had his worst game since coming to England. I know that is a small sample size but this game would have been bad no matter what team he was playing for. He had three interceptions while throwing for less than 100 yards before he was put out of his misery.
The turnovers are one thing but it seems like the staff just doesn’t know how to put things together for Newton in this offense. The Pats are light on playmakers and the ones they do have are not seeing many opportunities. N’Keal Harry had only two targets all game.
The defense made Jimmy G look like Tom Brady on his return to Foxborough and that was even with a couple of picks. He was just way too comfortable and averaged more than 10 yards per attempt.
Hittin the road is a nice chance for a reset for New England. They have lost three in a row.
Buffalo Bills
It wasn’t pretty last week but the Bills did get the win they expected against the Jets. After back-to-back losses they will take it.
Heading into this one they have to find a way to get their offense back on track. They did not score a TD against the Jets and they have scored in the teens in the last three games.
Josh Allen had a strong game with over 300 yards passing and no interceptions. He led the team in rushing too. Though they want that to change.
Holding an opponent to just 10 points makes the defense look good. Having Matt Milano helped too. He contributed to the 6 sacks they had on Sam Darnold.
Buffalo had 11 penalties against the Jets. You can get away with that against bad teams but against a savvier group like New England they might be in trouble if they don’t tighten up.

That is one of the factors that has been so strong for Buffalo this season and they are better than the Patriots in so many spots. A -3 is always more comfortable but don’t get pushed off this one by the hook.
