Minnesota fought hard but dropped below .500 after such a promising start to the season with a blowout win an then a comeback tie at Lambeau Field.
They will have to win in Philadelphia just to get back to .500. The Eagles are going to be hungry themselves after losing at Tennessee in disappointing fashion.
The Vikings looked so good in their first game of the season, a win over San Francisco. Then, they made a big comeback in the fourth quarter against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to earn a tie in Green Bay.
They were supposed to roll over the Bills as 17-point favorites in Week 3 but Buffalo got on top early and just kept scoring en route to a blowout victory. Minnesota recovered to an extent last Thursday but couldn’t beat a tremendous Rams team.
So here we are. The Vikings have really only played one bad game, though it was extremely bad. Still, they have just one win in four games and have to start making up ground quickly if they want to catch the Bears in the NFC North, a division they absolutely should win.
As good as Jared Goff was on Thursday, Kirk Cousins was dominant too, throwing for 422 yards through the air and three scores. His connection with both Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs, each of whom went over 120 yards in the last game, has been spot-on.
But my oh my, is the schedule brutal. The tough road makes the home loss to Buffalo even more painful. Now, the Vikings go to Philly to play the defending champs after a loss.
To me, Minnesota has looked a lot better than Philly has in the first four weeks but this will be anything but an easy game. Vegas has these two teams even with the Eagles holding the narrow advantage, thanks to the home field.
The Eagles had the Titans but couldn’t finish them on Sunday. Not only did Philadelphia blow a fourth quarter lead, it scored first in overtime and three times forced the Titans into tough fourth down situations.
But the Titans converted all of them, including a 4th and 15 and another one that looked like a stop before the referees threw a flag. In the end, Corey Davis caught the game-winning touchdown from Marcus Mariota.
So, through four games, the Eagles have won and lost a six-point game, won a two-point game and lost a three-point game. None of the four games have been particularly pretty to watch.
Carson Wentz continue to look good since returning from knee surgery. He threw for 348 and two touchdowns last week, including one to Alshon Jeffrey, who returned to play in his first game of 2018.
Jordan Matthews caught the other TD, his first for Philly in some time. Zach Ertz led the team with ten catches for 112 yards.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Minnesota are 1-5-1 ATS in its last 7 games
- Minnesota are 1-3-1 SU in its last 5 games
- Minnesota are 1-3-1 SU in its last 5 games on the road

Both offenses have shown the ability to put up points in a hurry so far this season. I love this Minnesota passing attack with Cousins and his receivers. Philadelphia is going to have to score points to stay in this game and I don’t see the Eagles falling out of things at home.
