Minnesota is hoping a bye week is good for what ails them, but the reality is the team seems to have waived the white flag heading into Sunday’s tilt with the Packers.
Green Bay had a hiccup in the 38-10, week 6 loss at Tampa Bay. The Pack came back to flex their muscles last week though, dominating Houston 35-20 in a game that wasn’t even as close as that score.
Minnesota Vikings
All you need to know about the Vikings 1-5 start is that they traded a 2nd round pick to Jacksonville for Yannick Ngakoue this offseason, but then shipped him off to Baltimore last week for a 3rd round pick.
Minnesota trading one of their premier d-line talents (although he was on a one-year deal), is an indication that the team has surrendered for 2020. That rhetoric kind of goes out the window in a rivalry game however.

Minnesota’s whole season started to snowball right away, in the season opening 43-34 loss to the Packers. The Vikings defense gave up 364 yards and 4 TDs to Aaron Rodgers – and that was while playing in Minneapolis.
Are the Vikings better than their 1-5 record indicates however? Minnesota played Seattle tight in a tough 27-26 loss on the road and beat Houston 31-23 to get Bill O’Brien fired. Last week’s 40-23 home loss to Atlanta probably tells you all you need to know about Minnesota however.
Green Bay Packers
Rodgers and the Packers showed that the 28 point loss to Tampa Bay a couple weeks ago was an anomaly and not a trend. The Green Bay QB threw his first two INTs of the year against the Bucs, but bounced back with 4 TD vs. the Texans.
What’s more impressive about Green Bay’s 35-20 win in Houston last week as -2.5 favorites was that it was their second straight road game. The Packers are back in Lambeau on Sunday, where both wins have come by at least 2 TD.
Green Bay’s defense bent a little bit last Sunday, allowing a 29/39 day to Deshaun Watson, but they did not break in holding the Texans to 20 points.
Minnesota’s Kirk Cousins is no Deshaun Watson at QB, especially after throwing 3 INT (as well as 3 TDs) last game against Atlanta. Cousins has 11 TD to 10 INT on the year. Green Bay has just 2 turnovers all season.

The Vikings actually keep things close when going to Green Bay. Minnesota lost 16-21 at Lambeau in 2019 and the teams tied 29-29 in their 2018 meeting in Wisconsin.
