The Vikings bounced back from their first loss of 2019 with a resounding home win-and-cover against the Raiders in Week 3.
The Bears will try to keep pace and advance to 2–1 on Monday night in Washington. Week 4’s numbers are out already at some ‘books though. And Chicago is a favorite, but not by even as much a field goal.
Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings didn’t have to do much to beat the Raiders by twenty in Minneapolis on Sunday. They simply started by running the ball and Oakland never stopped them.
Dalvin Cook took it 16 times for 110 and a touchdown. Alexander Mattison ran 12 times for 58 and a touchdown. Matt Bone made the most of his three carries, tallying 28 yards.

That made it an easy day for Kirk Cousins and his receiving corps, however much fantasy owners may have suffered. Dalvin Cook caught four balls for 33 yards; Irv Smith Jr., Adam Thielen, and Stefan Diggs caught three each for a total of 130 yards.
In total, Cousins went an easy 15-for-21 for 174 and a touchdown, which went to Thielen. The Vikings went into the fourth quarter up 28–7. It was exactly how they want to win games this year.
Minnesota’s defense sacked Derek Carr four times and picked him off once. The 21 points it gave up in Week 2 at Lambeau Field are still a season-high.
Of course, that road game played in Green Bay is Minny’s only loss. The Vikings are 2–0 at home. The next two are in enemy territory, first Chicago and then the Meadowlands against the Giants.
This represents an opportunity to get an early road win, which can work wonders for a team’s confidence. Same time, it’s in the division against a heck of a defense.

Cousins won’t be able to hand the ball off all evening and watch his team run it down the Bears’ throats. He’s going to have to make plays.
Chicago Bears
The Bears saw all three teams in the NFC North win on Sunday. The Packers beat the Broncos; the Vikings beat the Raiders; and the Lions pulled off a road win in Philadelphia.
Already, the North looks like a superior grouping. The Pack is 3–0; the Lions have two wins and a tie; and the Vikings are 2–1. The Bears will get to 2–1 with a win on Monday night but the Redskins are healthy for their first win after the season after hanging around in each of their first two games.
Chicago’s defense had been as advertised. It has given up just 24 points in two weeks, going into Monday Night Football, and sacked the opposing quarterback seven times. Opponents are averaging just three yards per rush attempts and barely over five yards per pass.
The problem is, Mitchell Trubisky’s own numbers have been even worse. He’s averaging just over four net yards per pass attempt and has thrown a pick.

Allen Robinson so far looks like the only receiver 1) he trusts and 2) can make plays. The Bears lack consistent route runners and have instead tried to incorporate as much speed as they can with Tarik Cohen and Cordarelle Patterson alongside David Montgomery, who is shouldering a lot of responsibility as just a rookie. If he can’t carry the load for the entire season, the Bears will need to go get somebody.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Minnesota.
Initially, I leaned Chicago because I believe this game comes down to which quarterback makes the most plays and the fewest mistakes and playing at home will be a comfort for Trubisky.
Then again, Cousins has been around the block. More importantly, he has the playmakers, who have the chance to make the difference in this game. After a light week, Thielen and Diggs will be up to the challenge. Throw in Cook and you’ve got a road win for the Vikes.
