Dolphins vs. Jets Gameday
The Miami Dolphins visit the New York Jets on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS. Miami enters Week 7 at 0-5, while New York stands at 2-4.
Jeff Hafley’s Dolphins return from their bye still searching for their first victory. Miami has lost all three road games, and this will be its first AFC East matchup of the season.
That’s a rough way to open divisional play.
Miami arrives rested but winless, while New York has an opportunity to make up ground in the division.
Aaron Glenn’s Jets are coming off a loss in New England. They’ve been competitive in several games without consistently finishing the job.
It’s getting late to keep celebrating moral victories.
Miami’s coaching staff has spent the extra week addressing penalties and execution. New York has its own offensive issues, particularly when drives reach scoring territory. Neither team can afford another afternoon of wasted opportunities.
The Jets have home field, but the Dolphins have recent success in this rivalry.
It’s Week 7, Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets, hopefully we get a great matchup.

Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets Odds & Previous Games
New York opened at -238 on the moneyline, with Miami at +197. The Jets opened as five-point favorites, giving the Dolphins +5 against the spread. The opening total was 39.5 points.
Miami lost to Cincinnati 31-24 and Minnesota 15-10. Earlier defeats came against Kansas City 24-10, San Francisco 35-13 and Las Vegas 27-13.
Those results have left the Dolphins looking for answers.
New York defeated Cleveland 17-12 but lost to New England 26-19. Other defeats included Chicago 23-12, Detroit 31-24 and Green Bay 20-17.
The Jets have been close enough to compete without collecting many wins.
Miami swept the 2025 series, winning 34-10 at MetLife Stadium and 27-21 at home. The teams split their 2024 meetings, with New York winning 32-20 at home and Miami taking a 32-26 decision in Florida.
The Dolphins lead the all-time series, including postseason play, 63-57-1. That’s a meaningful history, although Sunday’s personnel presents a different challenge.

Jets Stats From Last Week
New York averages 18.7 points and 290.6 total yards per game. The Jets have struggled to finish drives despite moving the football in stretches. Their offense needs better execution in scoring situations.
Garrett Wilson leads the receiving group with 35 catches for 418 yards. Rookie Omar Cooper Jr. has emerged as another important option, giving the Jets a dangerous target after the catch.
There’s more talent here than the scoring average suggests.
Braelon Allen has provided steady rushing production during Breece Hall’s absence. The Jets have leaned on him to handle early-down carries and maintain balance.
New York’s defense has kept it competitive, but the offense must start rewarding that effort.
Defensively, the Jets allow 20.3 points per game and have generated 17 sacks. Their pass defense has been effective, while the run defense remains more vulnerable.
That gives opponents a clear area to test.
Hall is questionable with a quad injury after missing three games. Offensive lineman Dylan Parham and return specialist Kene Nwangwu are also questionable.
Linebacker Kiko Mauigoa, lineman Max Mitchell and edge rusher Joseph Ossai are out. Receiver Adonai Mitchell and defensive lineman T’Vondre Sweat have no final injury designations.
Glenn will need contributions from the available depth.
Dolphins Stats From Last Week
Miami averages 14 points and 280.2 total yards per game. The offense has struggled to sustain drives, particularly when opponents force obvious passing situations.
The ground game has offered more encouragement. Ollie Gordon II has rushed for 236 yards and three touchdowns, giving the Dolphins a physical option between the tackles.
That production has been one of the few dependable positives.
Malik Washington leads the receiving corps with 23 catches for 262 yards. Rookie Caleb Douglas is expected back after missing three games with an ankle injury.
Defensively, Miami allows 26.4 points and 329.8 yards per contest. The Dolphins have struggled to create disruption, recording just four sacks and four takeaways.
Rookie linebacker Jacob Rodriguez has been an important contributor. His tackling and activity around the football have stood out despite the team’s record.
Cornerback Reese Taylor is out with a quad injury, while edge rusher Rob Beal Jr. is doubtful. Safety Kyle Louis and linebacker Willie Gay Jr. are questionable.
Those absences leave the defense with difficult personnel decisions.
Running back Jaylen Wright and cornerback Julius Brents carry no final injury designations. Miami could also benefit from getting Douglas back into the receiving rotation.
Dolphins vs. Jets QB Matchup
Geno Smith has thrown seven touchdowns and one interception through six games. He’s completing approximately 69% of his passes, giving New York a veteran who generally makes sound decisions. His experience has helped the Jets remain competitive.
Smith has also taken 19 sacks for 159 lost yards. Protection has been one of New York’s biggest problems, particularly when opponents create pressure without sending extra defenders.
That issue hasn’t gone away.
Malik Willis remains Miami’s starting quarterback. He’s thrown for 849 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions through five games.
Willis has completed approximately 56% of his passes. His mobility creates opportunities when plays break down, but the passing attack needs greater consistency.
He cannot keep relying on his legs to rescue difficult downs.
Willis practiced fully despite a right-thumb injury and carries no final game-status designation. His availability is encouraging for a Dolphins team that needs stability at quarterback.

Smith faces a Miami defense that has struggled to pressure opposing quarterbacks. New York should have opportunities to attack if its offensive line handles its assignments.
Willis must recognize New York’s coverage adjustments and make quick decisions. The Jets have enough defensive talent to punish late throws and careless protection calls.
Smith has the advantage in passing experience and ball security. Willis brings greater mobility, but Miami needs him to turn that athleticism into more dependable drives.
Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets bottom line: Smith gives New York the steadier passing option, while Miami needs better execution around Willis to challenge the Jets on the road.

Dolphins Jets Free Pick: Jets -5
Here is my Dolphins Jets free pick: Jets -5. New York isn’t a powerhouse, but the Dolphins haven’t earned much respect at the betting window. Five points is a reasonable price if the Jets finally cash in on their scoring chances.
Miami has covered only twice in five games. The bye gives Hafley’s staff extra preparation time, but it doesn’t suddenly give the Dolphins a dependable passing attack.
Rest helps. Execution wins.
I’m betting New York turns its scoring opportunities into enough separation to cover this number.
Geno Smith has been protecting the football, and the Jets have a receiving group capable of punishing Miami’s coverage. The important part is finishing drives instead of settling for three.
I’m not expecting a blowout. New York needs a six-point win, and that’s attainable against a team still searching for its first victory.
The Jets have been leaving points on the field long enough. This is the matchup to start collecting them. Jets -5.
PS. Geno Geno Geno! (I’m starting him at QB on my FFL team tomorrow. Wish me luck!)
