Sunday’s game between the Rams and the Dolphins has a lot of angles to explore. For example, L.A. is a favorite despite traveling across the country for an early game, while on a short week after beating the Bears on Monday.
Miami also comes into this tilt after a bye last week. The Dolphins might seem like a solid play, but they’ve also made the switch at QB from veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick to rookie Tua Tagovailoa, who hasn’t played in nearly a year.
Los Angeles Rams
Did the Rams look good on Monday night, or did they beat a very overrated Bears squad? Los Angeles knocked out the 24-10 win over Chicago behind a 161 yard rushing effort led by Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown.
The big reason for L.A.’s win over the Bears was their defense, which held Chicago to 49 yards rushing on 17 attempts. If the Rams held veteran Nick Foles to 0 TD and 2 INT, what will they do to Tagovailoa?

Aaron Donald could make the Dolphins’ rookie QB transition to an NFL player a living nightmare. Donald had 1/2 a sack vs. the Bears, but focusing on him allowed Leonard Floyd to have 2 of the teams 4 sacks vs. Chicago.
The Dolphins’ line has been good, allowing 1.7 sacks/game which is the 11th best in the league. Tagovailoa is going to come in rusty and facing his first NFL action, that’s a bad recipe vs. the Rams.
Miami Dolphins
Miami is coming off last week’s bye, but suddenly have a lot of questions while making a change at QB. Fitzpatrick had led the Dolphins to wins in three of their last four games, so is a QB switch going to be disruptive?
One thing to note about the Dolphins rising to 3-3 and 2nd place in the AFC East is that the competition hasn’t exactly been great. Miami’s wins in three of the last four have come against the Jaguars, Jets, and an injured 49ers team.
Even though it was against the Jets, the Dolphins defense did pitch a shutout last time they were in action with a 24-0 win over New York.
Once again the competition was suspect, but the Dolphins held opponents to 17 points or less in each of their victories this season.

The Dolphins are going to be a very popular betting pick this week coming out of their bye and with L.A. on the short week. Popular doesn’t necessarily mean correct however.
