This NFC West game will see the Los Angeles Rams take on the Arizona Cardinals.
This game will be the first meeting this season and the Rams will be looking to pick up a win to increase their chances of making the NFC playoffs. It will also be the first time the Rams will go up against rookie quarterback, Kyler Murray, and rookie head coach, Kliff Kingsbury
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams are coming off a Monday Night Football game where they were demolished by the Baltimore Ravens. The final score to this game was 45-6. The Rams continue to play mediocre football at best an one would think that the Super Bowl hangover is still in effect, even this late into the season.
The offense pretty much did nothing in this game. Granted they were playing one of the top defenses, but something is just way off with Jared Goff.
Los Angeles had been a top 10 passing team, but Goff threw for only 212 yards in this game and had no touchdowns to show for. He also threw two interceptions. Todd Gurley was also held in check, but to be fair, the Rams had a terrible run game going into the game with the Ravens.
The defense was not much better as they allowed 480 yards to the Ravens. Lamar Jackson tore them to pieces and the Rams were unable to get off the field in critical situations.
The Rams came into the Monday Night game as a top 4 run defense, but that quickly changed. They were also 11th in scoring defense and 16th is passing defense. Yet they go an allow 45 points to Baltimore.
Considering Baltimore is a run heavy offense and Lamar Jackson was able to throw for just 169 yards but he threw for five touchdowns. Seeing how the Rams just played, they could have a tough time against the air raid offense run by the Cardinals.
Arizona Cardinals
After a decent start to the season, the Cardinals are staring to decline. They have now lost four games in a row. They had a bye in week 12, but in their last game they lost to the 49ers 36-26. This was a game that they led 17-0 and they even led with under a minute in the fourth quarter.
The Cardinals do not have an explosive offense by any means, ranking 20th in the league in total yards per game. They are 18th in passing offense and 15th in rushing offense. They are also in the middle of the pack in scoring, averaging 22.5 points per game.
The defense for Arizona is starting to get gashed every week. They are allowing 28.8 points per game, which is ranked 30th in the NFL. They are especially bad against the pass, allowing an average of 297.5 yards per game.
During their four-game losing streak, the defense has allowed at least 28 points or more per game. The Rams offense has been struggling to score this season, so Arizona may have a chance to keep this one close, but I would not be surprised if Los Angeles has one of their better games offensively.
