Week 4 of preseason is finally here. The Chargers head to Santa Clara to take on the 49ers where both teams will battle it out to finish the preseason at .500. And yes, I’m being sarcastic.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers first team looked pretty solid against the Saints and then when Cardale Jones and Geno Smith took over things got messy.

Other wise, the Chargers looked good. The defense held the Saints offense in check even with a handful of regular starters missing.

Obviously, if the Chargers start suffering more injuries than things could get problematic, but if they stay healthy they should be very competitive this year.

San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers really haven’t been in sync yet on both sides of the ball. Offensively, they’ve been stuck in the mud and defensively they’ve been pretty meh.

A big concern that has plagued them in all three of their preseason games is penalties. They haven’t been able to get out of their own way. We’ll see if that improves in this one.
