A cross conference matchup between one of if not the greatest quarterbacks of all-time and a young superstar quarterback will take place here as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the defending Super Bowl champs.
The Bucs really need to continue winning because they have already lost to the Saints twice and thus need to keep pace with them.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are coming off a nail-biting win against the Las Vegas Raiders in week 11. This was the Sunday Night game and they won 35-31. This was also the Chiefs avenging their lone loss to the same Las Vegas team. Kansas City struggled again against the Raiders, but of course, a late two minute drilled secured the win for them. Patrick Mahomes threw for 348 yards and had two touchdowns and one interception. He completed 34 of 45 passes too, giving him an accuracy of 75.6%. The Chiefs were once again led by Travis Kelce, who had 127 receiving yards and Tyreek Hill, who had 102 receiving yards. Both guys had one touchdown.
The Chiefs’ rushing offense was pretty good too, rushing for 106 and three touchdowns. They had 27 carries, averaging 4.0 yards per carry.
The Chiefs are still the top scoring offense in the NFL, averaging 32.1 points per game. They average 414.1 total yards per game and 300.4 passing yards per game.
Their defense struggled at times against the Raiders, allowing them to take the lead late in the fourth quarter. They allowed 364 total yards to Las Vegas, 275 yards through the air and 89 yards on the ground. The Chiefs now rank 15th in total defense, 26th in rushing defense and 8th in pass defense. They also allow just 21.4 points per game.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs halted their momentum, losing to the Los Angeles Rams 27-24 in week 11. Tom Brady did not put together the best game, throwing for only 216 yards and two touchdowns. He did throw two interceptions as well. Their rushing offense was very poor, rushing for only 42 yards in the game. Ronald Jones was the leading rusher with 24 yards.
The Bucs rank as the 5th best scoring offense in the NFL, averaging 29.6 points per game. They are a top 10 passing offense and a top 15 offense overall.
The defense for the Bucs was not very good in this game, allowing 408 total yards. The Rams had 32 yards on the ground and Jared Goff threw for 376 yards and three touchdowns. Tampa Bay ranks 3rd in total defense and 1st in rushing defense this season. They also rank 9th in passing defense, but I do not think they will be able to contain Patrick Mahomes very well.
NFL Betting Trends:
- KC is 6-4 ATS this season.
- KC is 3-2 ATS on the road this season.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs -2.5
This Kansas City offense is far too strong to lose to Tampa Bay. I do not believe Tom Brady can keep up with what Mahomes will be able to do, so I like the Chiefs to win fairly easily.
