Jacksonville had an awful first week. Not only did they lose to Kansas City but they might have lost their shiny new toy in the process.
Houston is coming off a last second loss in their Monday night opener at New Orleans. It is a good thing they are at home or that result might linger longer.

Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville was not very competitive in their loss to the Chiefs to start the season…and they lost Nick Foles to a broken clavicle. They are desperate for a massive defensive performance in this one.
Garnder Minshew looks like he will get the start in plance of Foles. Just a rookie, he looked pretty good in relief and he knows how to throw the ball. He was one of themost productive QBs in college last year in case you don’t know the name.
If ever there was a game where the defense needed to make a statement this would be it. They not only need to hold back a strong offense they need to create some turnovers and short fields.

Jacksonville has to come out strong in this one on the road and hope the Texans might still be reeling a bit. If they can play with a lead they are so much better.
I think they will be better this week but probably not good enough to win.
Houston Texans
Houston was thisclose to winning at New Orleans in the opener. They scored late to take the lead but the Saints kicked a 58 yards field goal for the win. Heart breaker.
The combination of Deshaun Watson to DeAndre Hopkins was showing no rust as it yielded 111 yards and a couple of TDs. That’s the matchup the Jags will sick Jalen Ramsay on.
Houston ran the ball effectively but not often. Carlos Hyde had 83 yards on just 10 carries and Duke Johnson was effective too. Expect that to continue.
The defense gave up 30 points to New Orleans on the road. 370 yards through the air for Drew Brees but that is not exactly a shock. Alvin Kamara ripped them up on the ground.
Houston needs to be better but they do not have to be perfect to get this one. They will win their home opener.

I see the Jags as being in this one. Eventually their QB makes a mistake though and Watson capitalizes.
NFL Free Week 2 Score Prediction: Houston 27 – Jacksonville 24
One of these teams is going to be 0-2 and they still might be a pretty good team. .
