Jacksonville didn’t show up the Kansas City like you would suspect a Super Bowl hopeful would in Week 5. The Jags left licking their wounds after giving up thirty to the Chiefs.
The Cowboys, meanwhile, dropped back down under .500 after winning two in a row just to get back there after an 0–2 start.
It didn’t help that Blake Bortles turned the ball over five times in Jacksonville’s Week 5 loss in Kansas City. Bortles threw for 430 yards and a touchdown and added thirty-four yards and a touchdown on the ground. He made some truly spectacular throws throughout the course of the afternoon.
Thing is, he was going up against the Chiefs’ terrible defense and was trailing just about the whole day. He threw four interceptions and lost a fumble. The Jags turned it over four times as a team in the second quarter alone and the Chiefs went into the tunnel up 20–0 at the half.
Running back Leonard Fournette missed his third game out of five this season after briefly returning to play in Jacksonville’s game against the Jets in Week 4. TJ Yeldon again handled the majority of the work out of the backfield, running ten times for over fifty yards and catching eight passed for sixty-nine yards and a score.
Jalen Ramsey was hurt briefly in the first half but returned to hold Tyreek Hill to a quite four catches for sixty-one yards.
While the Jaguars haven’t played great in the first five weeks, they’re still 3–2 having played both the Patriots and Chiefs. More importantly, no body in that division is running away with things. Jacksonville should be just fine.
Dallas played a tight and entertaining game with Houston on Sunday night. Dak Prescott made some impressive throws in conjunction with nifty footwork. Still, he finished with just over 200 yards and a pair of interceptions.
Geoff Swaim led all receivers with fifty-five yards, most of which came on a single long catch and run early in the game. Allen Hurns, the former Jag, did catch a three-yard touchdown, his only catch all night.
The Cowboys’ defense held tight in the red zone and kept the game close and, eventually, into overtime. Dallas’ defense will have to be every bit as good, plus a little better, in this game because now there has to be a takeaway element.
If you want to beat the Jaguars, you have to take it away from Bortles. DeShaun Watson threw just one interception on Sunday night. Bend but don’t break won’t be good enough against a Jags team that wants to control possession.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Jacksonville -2
I like the road team because of its defense and the weak offense it’s going against. This strikes me as a game the Jaguars will be able to control by defending and winning field position against a Cowboys’ defense that isn’t ferocious inside the 20s.
