The Jacksonville Jaguars were thrashed in their home stadium by the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football last week, 31–13.
Ryan Fitzpatrick of the Dolphins completed 18 of 20 pass attempts and Miami ran the ball effectively on the ground, getting off to a big lead and coasting from there.
Jacksonville was without its best weapon on offense, DJ Chark, and as a result, Gardner Minshew struggled.
The Jags’ QB wasn’t terrible — he went 30 for 42 — but many of his completions were underneath and he finished with just 275 yards and an interception.
Chark, who is suffering from chest and back injuries, was ruled out early for Week 3, which may suggest to some that he’s doubtful for Week 4, too. That won’t be known until later in the week but is certainly worth monitoring.
James Robinson scored twice on Thursday, however, and remains a fantasy boon for owners who picked him up cheaply, especially before the news of Leonard Fournette’s release.
Robinson will be a popular streaming play at running back against a Cincinnati defense that has allowed 155, 215 and 175 rushing yards in its three games thus far.
Cincinnati has played three close games to start 2020 and is still looking for its first win.
It isn’t quite as bad as it sounds. The Bengals earned a tie against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3, running the ball and letting the overtime clock run out on the final possession after the Eagles punted the ball away.
After throwing the ball 62 times in a five-point loss to Cleveland the week earlier, Bengals’ quarterback Joe Burrow went 31 for 44 against the Eagles for 312 yards and two touchdowns. He now has five touchdowns without an interception in his last two games.
Tyler Boyd was Burrow’s preferred target (10 catches for 125 yards) but the first overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft spread the wealth and connected with eight other receivers at least once.
As with most young teams with a new head coach, Cincinnati has struggled to find ways to win close games. This could be the first game in which it is a favorite, however.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Jacksonville.
Cincinnati has some semblance of respect with the public because of how it has hung around in its first three games.
With Jacksonville looking so bad in Week 3, the Bengals will probably open as a favorite later on Monday.
Don’t be fooled. This is still a Cincinnati team with a steep learning curve and being a favorite introduces new, different challenges.
Jacksonville has the added advantage of having played last Thursday and will take advantage to get back to .500.
