2026 NFL Handicapping – Jacksonville Jaguars vs Baltimore Ravens
Here’s why I’m backing an OVER bet below in my Jaguars Ravens free pick & gambling prediction for this matchup.
Jaguars vs. Ravens Gameday
The Jacksonville Jaguars visit the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, November 5, for a Week 9 AFC matchup at M&T Bank Stadium. Kickoff is 8:15 PM ET on Amazon Prime Video.
Jacksonville enters at 5-2 under Liam Coen, having won four of its last five games. The Jaguars have split their two road contests but are finding ways to win with both offense and defense.
Jacksonville arrives with momentum, while Baltimore’s quarterback depth chart has become an injury report.
The Ravens are 4-4 under Jesse Minter and have dropped three straight. Their 1-2 home record hasn’t offered much protection, either.
Baltimore has dominated several recent meetings between these teams.
Jacksonville has occasionally spoiled that script, though, and Thursday brings a very different set of circumstances. The Jaguars are favored on the road, something few would have expected from this matchup a couple of seasons ago.
Baltimore is fighting to stay in the AFC North race. Jacksonville has an opportunity to strengthen its position in the AFC South, and neither team can afford to waste a conference game.
Week 9, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Baltimore Ravens, we’re all hoping a great game is in store.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Baltimore Ravens Odds & Previous Games
Jacksonville is favored by 10 points with a -535 moneyline, while Baltimore returns +402. The total is 40.5 points, reflecting the considerable uncertainty surrounding the Ravens’ offense.
The Jaguars crushed Indianapolis 42-7 and New England 35-6. They also defeated Cincinnati 22-17 and Philadelphia 19-17, with their lone recent loss coming against Houston 34-31.
Baltimore’s last three games ended in losses to Buffalo 36-10, Cincinnati 35-13 and Cleveland 13-10. Earlier victories over Atlanta 30-23 and Tennessee 24-18 haven’t prevented the Ravens from sliding back to .500.
The Ravens won the most recent meeting 23-7 in December 2023. Jacksonville took a 28-27 thriller in 2022, while Baltimore won 40-14 in 2020.
Those results offer a reminder that this matchup hasn’t always been predictable. Thursday’s quarterback circumstances make the current meeting particularly unusual.
The Jaguars have scored at least 31 points in three of their last four games. Bookmakers are giving that offense considerable respect with a double-digit road spread.

Ravens Stats
Baltimore has produced 2,709 offensive yards through eight games, averaging 338.6 per contest. The Ravens still possess a dangerous rushing attack, although their passing game faces a difficult adjustment.
Derrick Henry leads the backfield with 632 rushing yards and eight TDs. His physical style gives Baltimore a dependable way to move the chains and limit pressure on its passing game.
The Ravens have allowed 203 points, an average of 25.4 per game. Their defense has recorded 17 sacks and eight takeaways, but too many opponents have found ways to finish drives.
That’s a problem when the offense isn’t producing consistently.
Baltimore’s defense needs to prevent explosive plays and force longer possessions. Another afternoon spent defending short fields could turn ugly against a confident opponent.
Ronnie Stanley and Trey Hendrickson have dealt with injuries, although both participated fully Tuesday. Starting kicker Tyler Loop has been placed on injured reserve, with Jake Moody set to handle kicking duties.
Jaguars Stats
Jacksonville is averaging 28 points per game, ranking among the NFL’s most productive offenses. Coen has found a balance between explosive plays and sustained drives.
Bhayshul Tuten leads the rushing attack with 492 yards and three TDs. His ankle and foot injuries kept him out of Tuesday’s practice, leaving his Thursday availability uncertain.
The Jaguars have allowed only 15.9 points per game, one of the league’s strongest marks. They’ve been particularly difficult to run against, surrendering just 77.4 rushing yards per contest.
Jacksonville has intercepted nine passes and carries a plus-seven turnover differential. That ability to capitalize on mistakes has been a major part of its success.
The Jaguars have been collecting turnovers, and Baltimore can hardly afford to hand out freebies.
The defense has recorded 15 sacks, relying on coverage and disciplined positioning as much as outright pressure. Opponents haven’t found many easy scoring opportunities.
Defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton’s season-ending injury creates a concern in the middle. Jacksonville will need its remaining linemen to hold up against a powerful Baltimore backfield.
Jaguars vs. Ravens QB Matchup
Trevor Lawrence has thrown for 1,690 yards, 17 TDs and four interceptions through seven games. He’s completed 130 of 198 passes, providing Jacksonville with a dependable passing attack.
Lawrence has been particularly efficient lately. Against Indianapolis, he threw for 210 yards and three TDs on only 14 attempts.
He also threw four TDs against Houston, demonstrating his ability to produce when Jacksonville needs points in a hurry. His command of Coen’s offense has improved as the season has progressed.
Baltimore’s quarterback situation is far less comfortable.
Lamar Jackson has thrown for 967 yards, six TDs and one interception in five appearances. His right thumb injury will keep him out Thursday and send him to injured reserve.
Joe Fagnano will make his first NFL start for the Ravens. The undrafted rookie completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards and an interception against Buffalo after Jackson and Tyler Huntley were injured.
Fagnano also lost a fumble in that appearance and is dealing with an ankle issue. He participated fully in Tuesday’s practice, giving Baltimore some encouragement heading into a short week.

Huntley’s toe injury leaves the Ravens thin behind Fagnano. Kedon Slovis has joined the active roster, while Austin Reed provides additional depth on the practice squad.
Lawrence holds a significant advantage in experience and offensive continuity. Fagnano faces the difficult task of reading an opportunistic defense without the luxury of extensive prep.
Baltimore should simplify its passing concepts and give the rookie manageable decisions. Jacksonville can attack more aggressively, knowing Lawrence has already handled difficult defensive looks this season.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Baltimore Ravens bottom line: Lawrence gives Jacksonville the clear quarterback advantage, but Baltimore’s ability to establish its running game will determine how competitive Thursday becomes.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Baltimore Ravens Football Betting Trends
- The Jaguars have excelled straight-up in their last 15 regular season games, achieving a 13-2 record.
- Also, Jacksonville has been strong against the spread as favorites, going 8-2 in their last 10 regular season games.
- In away games, the Jaguars have a solid record against the spread, standing at 5-1 over their last six regular season contests.
- The Ravens have shown a tendency to hit the over after a loss, with a 4-1 record in their last five regular season games.
- Additionally, Baltimore has gone over the total in 7 of their last 11 regular season games.
- When playing as underdogs, the Ravens have achieved a 3-1 record on the over in their last four regular season games.
Jaguars Ravens Free Pick: Over 40.5
Here is my Jaguars Ravens free pick: I’m betting Over 40.5. Jacksonville has the firepower to put this total within reach, and Baltimore doesn’t need to produce an offensive masterpiece to finish the job. The Ravens have gone over in four of their last five games following a loss and seven of their last 11 overall. Jacksonville is also 5-1 ATS in its last six road games.
Those trends make this worth a look, but the real attraction is how little scoring this number demands from the underdog.
Baltimore doesn’t need to win a shootout, but three-and-outs aren’t going to pay our bills.
Jacksonville can reach the high 20s without needing a perfect offensive performance. That leaves Baltimore needing a couple of touchdowns, and even an inexperienced quarterback can benefit from short fields, penalties or a busted coverage. One defensive or special-teams score would change the math in a hurry.
There’s an obvious danger with a rookie starting on a short week.
If Baltimore can’t sustain drives, the Jaguars could build a lead and spend the second half running out the clock.
I’m willing to take that risk at 40.5 rather than chase a bigger number. Jacksonville should create enough opportunities to make this interesting, and Baltimore has enough veteran talent to contribute.
I’ll play the scoreboard with Over 40.5.
