2026 NFL Handicapping – Chicago Bears vs Seattle Seahawks
Here’s why I’m backing an OVER bet below in my Bears Seahawks free pick & gambling prediction for this matchup.
Bears vs. Seahawks Gameday
The Chicago Bears visit the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, November 2, 2026, at Lumen Field. This Week 8 matchup kicks off at 8:15 PM ET on ESPN.
Ben Johnson’s Bears arrive at 5-2, including a 2-1 road record. They’ve won 4 of their L5 and have bounced back nicely from a rough trip to Green Bay.
Chicago has found some momentum, but Seattle isn’t handing out free points at Lumen Field.
Mike Macdonald’s Seahawks enter at 4-3, with a 3-1 home record. They’re coming off one of their strongest defensive performances of the season.
The Bears have leaned on a productive rushing attack and an offense capable of stretching the field. Seattle counters with a physical defense that has been difficult to move the ball against.
These clubs last met in December 2024, when Seattle won an unforgettable 6-3 contest. Unforgettable for all the wrong reasons, unless you enjoy watching punters earn their paychecks.
Chicago won the previous 2 meetings in 2021 and 2018, while Seattle took the 2015 matchup. The teams have split their L4 regular-season meetings.
Both are trying to strengthen their positions in competitive NFC divisions. A national television audience adds another layer to an already important game.
It’s Week 8, Chicago Bears vs. Seattle Seahawks, hopefully we get a great matchup.

Seattle is favored by 3 points, with the supplied moneyline at -175. Chicago returns +147, while the total is 46.5 points.
The Bears defeated Philadelphia 27-7, the Jets 23-12, Atlanta 31-23 and New England 30-24 during their L5. Their lone defeat in that stretch was a 31-7 loss to Green Bay.
Seattle has gone 2-3 over its L5, beating the Chargers 30-23 and Chiefs 20-3. The Seahawks lost to Washington 33-31, San Francisco 32-29 and Denver 17-14.
Chicago has been effective moving the football since its loss to the Packers. The Bears have also shown they can recover from a poor offensive performance.
Seattle’s recent scores have covered a wide range, from defensive battles to games decided by explosive passing plays. That’s worth considering when evaluating the total.
The Seahawks have the home-field advantage, but Chicago has shown it can win away from Soldier Field. The 3-point spread reflects a matchup without much separation between the teams.

Seahawks Stats From Last Week
Seattle held Kansas City to just 3 points in its Week 7 victory. The Seahawks allow 17.9 PPG, ranking among the NFL’s strongest scoring defenses.
Offensively, Seattle averages 343.3 total YPG and 24.0 PPG. Its passing game has been the primary source of explosive plays.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba leads the team with 58 receptions for 867 yards and 8 TDs. His ability to stretch coverage makes him a difficult assignment for any secondary.
Seattle’s defense can make life miserable, but the offense still has to do its share of the work.
Emanuel Wilson leads the ground attack with 403 rushing yards and 3 TDs. The Seahawks average 113.7 rushing YPG, giving them some balance alongside their passing attack.
Seattle allows only 233.9 total YPG and has recorded 17 sacks. Its secondary has also collected 8 interceptions, making careless throws especially costly.
Left tackle Charles Cross missed Thursday’s practice with an ankle injury. Rashid Shaheed and Uchenna Nwosu were also sidelined, creating questions about Seattle’s depth.
Zach Charbonnet practiced fully Thursday while working back from a knee injury. His return would provide another option in the backfield, although his final status remains unsettled.
Bears Stats From Last Week
Chicago averages 25.7 PPG and 390.7 total YPG, ranking among the NFL’s more productive offenses. The Bears have accumulated 2,735 offensive yards through 7 games.
D’Andre Swift leads the rushing attack with 476 yards and 7 TDs. His ability to gain yards between the tackles and outside gives Chicago flexibility.
Luther Burden III leads the receiving group with 491 yards. His speed and ability after the catch have added another dimension to the offense.
Defensively, the Bears allow 313.4 total YPG and 25.0 PPG. They’ve had success getting pressure on opposing QBs, recording 19 sacks.
Chicago has surrendered some explosive plays despite its respectable yardage numbers. That inconsistency remains a concern against Seattle’s receiving talent.
T.J. Edwards and Jack Sanborn were full participants on Thursday’s estimated injury report. Both have been dealing with injuries, but their practice participation was encouraging.
Kyle Monangai did not participate because of thumb and toe issues. His availability could affect the Bears’ rushing depth for Monday night.
Bears vs. Seahawks QB Matchup
Sam Darnold has thrown for 1,290 yards, 8 TDs and 8 interceptions in 6 games. He’s completed 62.2% of his attempts, although turnovers have been a recurring problem.
Darnold has the arm strength to attack downfield and make difficult throws. His challenge is knowing when to take the safer option against an aggressive defense.
The Seahawks QB benefits from a receiving group capable of creating separation. He needs adequate protection to give those routes time to develop.
Darnold has also faced pressure behind an offensive line dealing with injuries. Keeping him comfortable in the pocket will be important for Seattle’s passing attack.
Caleb Williams has thrown for 1,020 yards, 5 TDs and 1 interception in 4 appearances. He’s completed 71.0% of his passes, showing impressive accuracy when available.
Williams has dealt with a hamstring injury this season but returned to lead Chicago in consecutive wins. His mobility gives the Bears another way to extend plays.
The Bears QB can throw accurately while moving outside the pocket. That ability makes him dangerous when defenses commit too many players to the pass rush.

Williams must remain patient against a Seattle secondary that has punished careless decisions. Darnold faces a similar challenge against Chicago’s pressure packages.
Both QBs have the arm talent to challenge defenses vertically, although their seasons have followed different paths. Williams has protected the football better, while Darnold has produced more passing TDs.
Chicago Bears vs. Seattle Seahawks bottom line: Williams brings efficiency and mobility, while Darnold has the weapons to challenge Chicago if Seattle protects him.
Chicago Bears vs. Seattle Seahawks Football Betting Trends
- Chicago has a strong record against the spread in away games, going 2-1 in their last three regular season games.
- Plus, the Bears have performed well straight-up in all games, winning 4 out of their last 5 regular season contests.
- In games with totals of 50 or more, Chicago has an over-under record of 3-1 over their last four regular season games.
- The Seahawks have been successful straight-up at home, with a 6-1 record in their last seven regular season games.
- Seattle’s performance as a favorite has been strong, achieving an 11-3 straight-up record in their last 14 regular season games.
- Also, the Seahawks have a 2-1 over-under record in home games during the current regular season.
Bears Seahawks Free Pick: Over 46.5
Here is my Bears Seahawks free pick: I’m betting Over 46.5. Chicago has found its offensive rhythm again, and Seattle has enough big-play talent to answer. I’m expecting both teams to create scoring chances Monday night. The Bears have gone Over in 3 of their L4 games with totals of 50 or higher. That tells me Chicago can keep pace when a game opens up, and I like its chances of forcing Seattle to trade scores.
Seattle’s defense deserves respect, but one ugly night for Kansas City doesn’t mean every offense is getting shut down.
The key is getting TDs instead of settling for field goals. Chicago can create opportunities with its ground game, while Seattle has the receiving talent to score without needing a 12-play drive.
I also like the chance of a competitive second half. Neither team should be comfortable sitting on a small lead, and that can keep both offenses aggressive well into the fourth quarter. Give me a few explosive plays and decent red-zone execution, and this number is beatable.
I’m not buying another 6-3 snoozefest between these clubs.
My money goes on Over 46.5.
