Colts vs. Vikings Gameday
The Indianapolis Colts visit the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS. Minnesota enters Week 7 unbeaten at 5-0, while Indianapolis stands at 2-4.
Shane Steichen’s Colts have lost two straight and are 1-2 away from home. Another difficult assignment awaits against one of the NFL’s hottest teams.
The schedule isn’t offering Indianapolis any sympathy.
Minnesota has momentum and extra rest, while Indianapolis needs answers after another frustrating divisional loss.
Kevin O’Connell’s Vikings return from their bye riding a ten-game regular-season winning streak dating to 2025. They’re also getting several important offensive contributors back.
That’s a pretty comfortable position for a head coach.
Indianapolis has been dealing with more than disappointing results. The Colts dismissed general manager Chris Ballard earlier this week, adding organizational uncertainty to an already difficult stretch. Steichen still has to prepare his team for an unbeaten opponent.
The Vikings have home field, a healthier lineup and a chance to remain perfect.
It’s Week 7, Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings, hopefully we get a great matchup.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings Odds & Previous Games
Minnesota opened at -286 on the moneyline, with Indianapolis at +233. The Vikings opened as 6.5-point favorites, giving the Colts +6.5. No opening total was provided.
Indianapolis lost to Tennessee 26-20 and Pittsburgh 34-22 in its last two games. Earlier victories came against Washington 30-13 and Houston 19-17.
Those defeats have erased much of the optimism from the Colts’ early wins.
Minnesota beat New Orleans 23-13, Miami 15-10 and Tampa Bay 23-16. The Vikings also defeated Chicago 9-3 and Green Bay 39-22.
They’ve shown they can win without piling up points.
The Vikings won the most recent meeting 21-13 in November 2024. Indianapolis defeated Minnesota 34-6 in December 2016, and the Colts lead the regular-season series 17-9-1.
Minnesota also staged its historic 39-36 overtime comeback against Indianapolis in December 2022. The Vikings erased a 33-point deficit in that contest, the largest comeback in NFL history.

Vikings Stats From Last Week
Minnesota leads the NFL in scoring defense, allowing just 12.8 points per game. The Vikings also surrender only 259.8 total yards per contest. Opposing offenses have struggled to establish any consistent rhythm.
Offensively, Minnesota averages 21.8 points and 283 yards per game. The production has been modest, but the Vikings have done an excellent job controlling possession.
That balance has helped them win close games.
Aaron Jones Sr. leads the rushing attack with 410 yards and two touchdowns. He’s handled a heavy workload during Jordan Mason’s absence, giving Minnesota dependable production between the tackles.
Minnesota’s defense has carried the early success, and the offense now has more healthy weapons available.
Justin Jefferson has 258 receiving yards and three touchdowns through four appearances. His route-running and ability to create separation remain central to Minnesota’s passing game.
Opposing secondaries still have to account for him on every snap.
Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson and Christian Darrisaw carry no final injury designations. All three are expected to be available after dealing with injuries earlier this season.
Mason was activated from injured reserve Saturday after recovering from thumb surgery. His return restores another physical option to Minnesota’s backfield.
That’s welcome reinforcement coming out of the bye.
Colts Stats From Last Week
Indianapolis averages 24 points and 311.3 yards per game. The offense has moved the football in stretches, although costly mistakes have undermined its production.
Jonathan Taylor has rushed for 492 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s averaging four yards per carry and remains Indianapolis’ most dependable offensive weapon.
The Colts need him involved from the opening possession.
Defensively, Indianapolis allows 27.3 points and 319 yards per contest. Opponents have found opportunities for explosive plays, particularly when the Colts fail to generate pressure.
The pass defense allows 209.3 yards per game. Indianapolis has recorded ten sacks, with DeForest Buckner remaining an important presence along the defensive line.
Buckner’s ability to disrupt blocking schemes helps Indianapolis compete against physical offenses. The Colts need that interior pressure to prevent Minnesota from settling into comfortable passing situations.
Cornerback Sauce Gardner is out with a calf injury. Tight end Tyler Warren and receiver Anthony Gould have also been ruled out.
Those absences hurt on both sides of the ball.
Linebacker CJ Allen was downgraded to out Saturday. Bryce Boettcher and Justin Walley remain questionable, creating additional concerns about defensive depth.
Colts vs. Vikings QB Matchup
Kyler Murray enters Week 7 with 662 passing yards through four appearances. He’s thrown two touchdowns and two interceptions while completing 68.3% of his passes. Minnesota has gradually become more comfortable with his decision-making.
Murray can extend plays with his legs when protection breaks down. His mobility also forces defenders to remain disciplined when covering receivers downfield.
That’s a difficult combination for an injured secondary.
Daniel Jones remains Indianapolis’ starting quarterback. Steichen confirmed the decision this week despite the Colts’ recent offensive struggles.
Jones has thrown for 1,290 yards, four touchdowns and six interceptions through six games. His 59.6% completion rate reflects an offense that has struggled to maintain consistency.
He’ll need considerably cleaner execution Sunday.
Minnesota defensive coordinator Brian Flores uses an aggressive pressure scheme that demands quick decisions. Jones has some familiarity with that approach after spending part of the 2024 season with the Vikings.

Jones must recognize disguised coverage and identify his hot receivers before pressure arrives. Minnesota’s defense has been particularly effective at forcing opponents into difficult third-down situations.
Murray faces an Indianapolis defense missing Gardner. That absence could create favorable passing opportunities for Minnesota’s returning receivers.
The quarterbacks bring different challenges to this matchup. Murray offers greater mobility, while Jones must rely on recognition and accurate timing to handle Minnesota’s pressure.
Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings bottom line: Minnesota’s defensive discipline and improving offensive health create a difficult road assignment for Jones and the Colts.
Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings Football Betting Trends
- The Colts have been strong against the spread in away games, going 4-1 in their last 5 regular season games.
- Indianapolis has a favorable trend with the over as an underdog, hitting 4-1 in their last 5 regular season games.
- Also, the Colts have seen the over hit in 4 of their last 5 games following a loss.
- The Vikings have been perfect straight-up in their last 10 regular season games, winning all of them.
- Plus, Minnesota has excelled against the spread, posting a 9-1 record in their last 10 regular season games.
- At home, the Vikings have won all of their last 5 regular season games straight-up.
Colts Vikings Free Pick: Vikings -6.5
Here is my Colts Vikings free pick: Vikings -6.5. Indianapolis is walking into a nasty spot against an unbeaten team coming off its bye. Minnesota has had extra time to prepare, and the Colts haven’t exactly been solving problems lately.
The Vikings are plus-six in turnover differential; Indianapolis is minus-eight. That’s a serious gap in possession management, and it matters when you’re laying less than a touchdown.
Fourteen giveaways’ worth of difference between these clubs isn’t something I’m brushing aside.
I’m backing the team that protects the football and gives itself more chances to finish drives.
Minnesota’s offense is getting healthier, and Indy is missing important defensive personnel. A clean first half could put the Vikes in position to make the Colts chase points.
-6.5 leaves room for a seven-point win. The Colts can keep fighting, but they’ve been giving opponents too many chances to steal possessions.
I’m laying it with the Vikings -6.5
