It’s only preseason, but the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys will try and put up a better showing than they did last week.
The Indianapolis Colts looked extremely poor with backup quarterback Scott Tolzien leading the way. Tolzien led the Colts to a whopping 27 yards over three drives.
Realistically, the Colts need a better backup plan if Andrew Luck ends up seriously hurt for this regular season. There is still one specific quarterback out there who would give Indianapolis their much needed insurance if their franchise quarterback goes down. But, we know that won’t happen.
The Colts struggled for most of the game and it took them until the end of the fourth quarter to finally score a touchdown that Troymaine Pope was able to punch in.
Overall, it was a pretty dreadful performance that the Colts will look to improve upon on both sides of the ball. The Colts will look to get better pass protection from their offensive line and they’ll look to clean up some of the sloppiness as they committed 11 penalties.
The Dallas Cowboys weren’t any better as Kellen Moore started for the second straight week and was absolutely dreadful. Statistically, he was 8-for-17, but it felt like he played much worse than that.
Moore was unable/unwilling to take some shots deep and the Cowboys offense was basically unwatchable. In fact, if you didn’t watch it would be better if you didn’t. You’d find more value in staring at a wall for thirty minutes than watching that Cowboys offense play football.
In this game versus the Indianapolis Colts, it should be expected that Dak Prescott should play a series or two and the Cowboys should perform better.
After that it, it should be awful. Until, Cooper Rush comes in. Rush was able to handle himself and was able to throw the ball more than five yards down field.
Rico Gathers had another beastly performance as he scored his second touchdown in as many games.
Gathers has easily been the most impressive Cowboy this preseason and perhaps the most impressive player this entire preseason.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction:
I’m not a big fan of the five and half point spread as both offenses were pretty pitiful. However, the Cowboys should get a boost as most of their first team offense should make their debut in this one.
If the Cowboys get off to a quick start then they should cover, if not it might get hairy, so the best bet in this one is to take the under.
