This week 16 Monday Night game will be a crucial one between the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings. This game could very well determine the winner of the NFC North.
Last time these teams met was in Green Bay in week 2. Green Bay won this game 21-16.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers are coming off another unimpressive win as they beat Chicago 21-13. The week before they beat Washington 20-15, so clearly not everything is clicking for Aaron Rodgers and the Pack.
It was not like the Packers were outplayed as they had a 21-3 lead in the third quarter. They just do not look like themselves an allow Chicago to make it interesting towards the end. As everyone in that Green Bay locker room knows, they must play better if they are going to beat the Vikings.
Now the offense has really been shaky overall this season. They are 21st in total yards per game, 17th in passing yards, 17th in rushing yards and 14th in scoring. These are not the rankings generally associated with the Green Bay offense and they need to fix things in a hurry.

At first the Green Bay defense looked legit, but as of recently, they are starting to struggle. Well maybe not in the past three weeks because of the competition, but they now allow an average 371.3 yards per game (23rd), 250.4 passing yards per game (22nd), and 120.9 rushing yards per game (24th).
Their only saving grace is they are a top 10 scoring defense, so despite allowing all these yards, they generally are able to keep their opponent out of the end zone.
Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings went out West this past week and crushed the Chargers to remain in a close NFC North divisional race. They do not want to play the wild-card game on the road, so this is basically a must win game.
We know trends show that Kirk Cousins is not good in Prime Time games, but this is a different Vikings team at this point in the season and I believe Cousins is going to break these trends this week.
Speaking of the offense, the Vikings are a top 10 team in total yards per game, averaging 372.6. They are a top 15 passing team, averaging 236.8 yards per game. As for their rushing offense, it ranks 4th in the league and they are averaging 135.9 yards per game.
That being said, Dalvin Cook was hurt this past week, but is probable to return. Without Cook, there is no question they will struggle running the football.
Minnesota’s defense has been solid all year and they are the 8th best rush defense in the league. The only concern is their pass defense where they rank 20th. They do however, only allow an average of 18.5 points per game, which ranks 6th in the league. When playing at home, their defense is even better and they are allowing 14.2 points per game.
The Vikings must feed off the crowd noise and try to make it impossible for Rodgers and company to execute their game-plan. If they do this, the Vikings will go into week 17 with a chance to win the NFC North.

Kirk Cousins is clearly a better quarterback when playing at home and I do not believe the Packers offense will be able to muster up much of this stout Vikings defense. I will lay the points with the Vikings at home and take them as my pick in this game.
