With week one of the NFL season over, we turn to week two!
The last game to kick off is on Monday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The Detroit Lions will try to pick up their second win of the season when they take on the New York Giants on Monday night football.
The Detroit Lions first game of the season was a tail of two halves. The first half they looked like a team that might not win a game this season, but then came the second half, and most importantly the fourth quarter.
Last year Matthew Stafford led eight fourth quarter comebacks and that was the case again on Sunday. They scored 26 unanswered points on the way to a 35-23 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
Stafford led the team throwing for 292 yards and four touchdowns. He did throw an interception too, but that didn’t hurt the team too much.
Although they did win there is still a few things that this team needs to really work on if they want to win this upcoming game.
The rushing game was terrible with the leading rusher only accounting for 30 yards. If this team wants to take the next step forward they need to have a guy step up and grab that number one role.
On the defensive side of the ball they need to play a lot better. The Cardinals offense isn’t that good and the Lions made them look really good.
The secondary is going to need to play better in this game or they will get torched in this game and the offense won’t be able to keep up.
New York Giants
On the other side of this match up is the New York Giants who got embarrassed on Sunday night football at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys.
Odell Beckham Jr. was ruled out right before game time and that seemed to really hurt the flow of the Giants offense.
Eli Manning threw for 220 yards and no touchdowns and an interception. He didn’t have a go to reciever and it really hurt them.
The Giants defense looked really good even though they gave up 19 points. They didn’t let Elliot break out any big runs and that didn’t seem to be any sort of problem.
The good news for the Giants is Beckham should be able to go in this game. He was almost ready to play in week one and with a little extra rest he should be good to go.
They are going to need him to have a big game, and open up the passing game a lot more for Eli Manning and the Giants.

NFL Free Week 2 Score Prediction: Giants 24 – Lions 14
I think Beckham will play and he will have a huge game in this one. I think he will have one of the best performances ever and that will lead to an easy victory over the Lions that cover the spread.
