This looks like one of the worst games of the opening weekend as neither of these teams are expected to do all that much. The home team is just looking for their quarterback to be able to take a hit and get up for the next play.

For the Bengals there are a lot of the same faces we have seen over the years. A lot have had success too – five straight playoff appearances (all losses) from 2011 to 2015. Have they done enough to get back to winning though.
Cincinnati Bengals
Andy Dalton is one of the most maligned quarterbacks in the league and often deserves that criticism but I do not think he is the problem. Neither does the brain trust as they have upgraded the line in front of him instead of getting rid of him. It might work too.
I love the mix the Bengals have in the backfield with Joe Mixon and Gio Bernard and AJ Green is still one of the toughest covers in the NFL. Tight end Tyler Eifert rounds out a skill position group that is definitely in the upper half.
The offense could be really good.

The strength of the defense is upfront where they have reinvested in the likes of Geno Atkins and Carlos Dunlap. That duo had 16.5 sacks last season and rookie Carl Lawson also had 8.5 sacks coming off the edge. They need these guys to keep up these numbers because the back seven is nto strong.
Vontaze Burfict is talented enough to be a Pro Bowler but he is also a loose cannon.
He will not be available due to suspension and he was on the only player to fear back there even if it is because he is a little crazy. If the pass rush is awesome it gives these guys a chance.
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts can make all the changes they want on and off the field but this team’s ceiling is determined by Andrew Luck. I don’t see him on the injury report which to me means that he is good to go.
You can bet Cincinnati will look to get after him and see what he still has.
Unfortunately for Luck the playmakers he has around him are not great. TY Hilton can get open with his speed but the rest of the receiving crew is meh and the running backs might be only a little better.
At least drafting Quentin Nelson upgraded their line a lot. Some said he was the best offensive lineman in the draft.

Indianapolis is not reliant on one player on defense like they are on offense…it is kind of too bad because perhaps it would mean they had someonce comparably elite on that side of the ball.
They don’t in fact there is not a lot to get excited about with the Colts defense.
Last year they were thisclose to being the worst defensive team in the league and they have not added much. They are not going to be able to scheme enough to overcome mediocre talent and the Bengals will certainly test this group.
